Bushpig Backpackers Hostel

Bushpig is a fantastic place to stay in busy kampala. Homey, fun, friendly, funky. The staff were all so helpful and kind. My single room with shared bathroom was very comfortable. The facilities - shower, toilets, kitchen- are clean and in excellent working order. There are lots of outdoor places to sit near reception where the wifi connections are best. The brightly colored cushions -and a relaxed hostel cat!- are comfortable and welcoming.|Love bushpig. And the price is excellent too.|(I am a 70 year old solo female traveler and I felt totally welcomed and at ease at bushpig. My experience is that there is no ageism in Africa. )

Would never recommend or talk about this place, In less than 3 hours you can no longer have your car mirrors ,hahaha the staffs try to fool you . I would never stay here if I want to be happy for my trip ,the hostel is fanced on surprise big robbery associated with cars is inside , Am broken and lost trust in this property after loosing our car side mirrors btn these staffs. If you have your valuable staffs ,phones,laptops, cameras on your tours this place has earned thugs medal scaring travelers to complain about this ,remember going to police is just wasting time so be concerned about this place, security thier security guards and the receptionist will treat you like a fool who doesn't know . With the incident a zero review is give ,how would one feel after this incident, they will lie you take your contact hahaha what a dam

Rates right up there as one of the nicest hostels I've stayed in & I've visited 89 countries now.||Everything is practical & convenient with super attention to detail.||The staff are so friendly & helpful. The breakfast is lovely. Having a simple restaurant & bar makes life easy when you come back dusty & tired after a long day.||Very highly recommend.

Beautiful accomodation - from the rooms to the gardens - besides looking great everything is wel kept and clean 🌺||The staff is upright welcoming and friendly, their smile welcomes you from morning breakfast till late night bar 😁||Last but not least, the ladies at the reception area, they are your life-savers in busy and hectic Kampala. Always there to help you 🫶🏾

I booked a “Single Bed in Dormitory” which actually was one bed in double bedroom with shared toilet and shower. Everything was way higher than my expectations as a solo traveler who usually preferred hotels. The breakfast was simple but enough. The bar tender “Paula” is great. Don’t forget to test the pizzas and spend the Tuesday night in public area for Quiz night. 100% I will return…

Great hostel. Really lovely common space (complete with the best cat) and phenomenal breakfast. The single room is pretty basic, but very clean. WiFi is great and the staff is lovely. No ac and the fan provided was not amazing, but it cools off enough at night that not a problem.

I stayed here for 8 days recently, and it was superb. The atmosphere is fantastic, with the ladies on reception having all things under control, 24 hours a day. The bar is good prices and all good quality with the kitchen next door making a primo breakfast every morning for free (with options!!!) At night time there is always some entertainment like a DJ or quiz. The location is safe, and central to most amenities in town. The only criticism I have is that the wifi didn't reach my room as well as downstairs, but who really cares as it was always on! Thanks so much for my stay Bushpig, I will be back! Cheers. James
