Bushveld Terrace Hotel on Kruger

My parents were completely dissatisfied with the overall experience. Firstly on check-in they found a huge spider in their room. Instead of getting them another room, they just got rid of the spider. That made the night very uncomfortable to sleep that night, as it triggered a lot of anxiety and my mother (the birthday girl) has terrible phobia for those reptiles.||||Secondly, the rooms were very basic. Nothing like the images I saw on bookings.com. The overall feel of the room was like a hostel or residence. Very underwhelming. In my opinion, this was falsely advertised and overpriced. ||||Lasty, I wish I could I have been given a bit more information on the type of rooms so I can make an informed and better decision on what rooms I should pay for. On the call with reservations, I did express I wanted them to have the best stay. They were somewhat disappointed. I would like for this to be addressed. Happy to book again if this will be fixed.

We received excellent service, especially from the receptionist Diedre. She bent over backwards to assist us with a few personal issues we had. She was friendly, efficient and very professional. Nice hotel, big room, very comfortable bed.||Having said that, we feel the hotel is over-priced compared to similar hotels we've stayed at in SA.||We were however, very disappointed with the meal at the restaurant, it was tasteless and not up to standard. They did not state on the menu that they grate raw chillies into the coleslaw salad, resulting in me being unable to eat the coleslaw burger, due to an ulcer. Had it been on the menu that it contained chillies, I would not have ordered it. Breakfast was nice.

Family rooms were big, food was good and the location was convenient as it is right by the Phalaborwa gate into the Kruger. They perhaps need to brush up on their cocktail making....ordered Mojitos, they weren't made correctly. Other than that, the stay was good.

In sight of Phalaborwa gate into Kruger National Park. Efficient and very friendly and professional staff. Rooms super comfortable, bed and pillows fabulous. Bathroom super spacious. Everything we wanted. Highly recommend. Thank you

Had lunch here, the location is situated right outside the Kruger gate. The restaurant has a great ambiance. The food and service are good. Definitely worth the visit.

I only have one request for my return and it is to be allocated permission to smoke on my balcony. I'm booked for another x4 night's stay from the 27 till the 30th for another business trip and I will be bringing my colleagues of which x3 of them are also smokers. It is very unaccommodative to host smokers in a non smoking establishment. Is it possible to group our rooms to the far end and to allow us smoke on our balconies ( not in the front hallway but the back)? If so then we are back for a fun filled stay. And lastly we were mixed up on the forms ... I am miss Malete and not miss Hailele, thank you.

We ate there a total of 3 times and each time we were very satisfied. The food is excellent and the value for money is outstanding. I can highly recommend it

Poor WiFi in the rooms, Reception area too close to Restaurant no privacy, Breakfast takes too long, consider Buffet in peak season to reduce waiting time. But other than that food is delicious and had great time.
