So much movie magic was made here. All of Keaton's independent work, and Chaplin's Mutual comedies. Right at this corner, viewed south down Lillian Way from Eleanor, Chaplin filmed scenes from The Fireman, and Keaton "shadowed" Ward Crane crossing the street in Sherlock Jr. The interior of the NE corner of Cahuenga and Romaine was the tiny "backlot" where Chaplin built his "T" slum set for Easy Street, and Keaton built the prison for Convict 13, the "T" slum set for Neighbors, and the collapsing house for The Boat.
