Buta Kin @ Beauty World Centre

I purposedly went to Beauty World Food Centre just to try this ramen stall. I read that this stall is one of the 'must try' in the list. I went through the menu and saw that the ramen called BLACK KING (GARLIC) has 3 thumbs up sign. I ordered a bowl costing $9.90. It did not disappoint me. The broth is tasty with rich umami flavor while the noodles are al dente. The thing that I liked most is the barbecue slices of pork with nice charred flavor while maintaining the tenderness of the meat. It also comes with cabbage, japanese style soft boiled egg, and generous topping of bonito flakes. I would definitely recommend this stall. An affordable ramen that is only a fraction of cost than a normal ramen would be. BUTA KIN CURRY RICE - It's been 2 years since I visited the stall. The dish is a mixed of fried crispy goodness of ebi (prawns) tempura, and tonkatsu of pork and chicken. Served with short-grain Japanese rice and a bowl of curry. I appreciate that the curry gravy is served separately in a bowl instead of poured over the dish which makes the dish gooey. Every scoop and every bite is definitely worth it.

I have always wondered about this long-standing Japanese cuisine stall at Beauty World Centre Food Centre. It has been there for as long as I have known this Food Centre and its stall frontage seems worn out over the years. Anyway, as it was a dark and gloomy day today, I thought I try something hot and spicy from this stall. I ordered a "Red Ramen (Spicy)" for $6.70 without any further add-ons. And I must say that the picture of this Ramen on the stalls menu board is almost exactly what you get "in real life." I must also say that this Ramen was exactly what I expected and what I needed - the "soup" was hot as in temperature hot, and spicy with a "kick." And the noodles, "Chasu" and shredded black fungus were all very good. Service at this stall was very good - very friendly and helpful. As for the dining ambience, those familiar with Beauty World Centre Food Centre know better. WINK WINK

My daughter choose it because the photo shown it comes with corn. End up is only veg. $5.50. She doesn’t like the taste. Still preferred clear soup type.

Spicy Miso Rice with Mentaiko Pork(Cutlet) @Buta Kin I occasionally visited this hawker center for the great western, but opted for something a little less heavy(just abit). Found an interesting dish of Miso Rice. It’s like an earthy kimchi fried rice, being spicy, savoury and a little umami. It felt like a dish you would have in a chinese restaurant in Japan, which I’d say is a good thing. The ajitama on the side was also great, while already delicious on it’s own, having it with the rice makes it even better. The cutlet tasted alright, but of a good size so I’d say it’s pretty worth it for the variety of flavors you get! The soup the meal comes with is a tonkotsu broth, likely from the same pot the ramen comes in. As a result, it’s rather thick, with a thin fatty layer forming on the top if you leave it untouched for abit, you may or may not like it over Miso Soup, but I’d prefer Miso Soup, or Tonjiru Overall, quite a satisfying meal with an interesting taste profile, takes the favourite parts people like and puts them onto a plate(mentaiko, ajitama, flavoured rice), never tasted anything quite like this in Singapore. 8/10

Love the Ramen, they are delicious, especially the black garlic ramen. The food are all value for money. The curry rice is not as nice as the Ramen because it is too salty.

Great ramen at an affordable price – typically ranging from $5.7 to $8 (for the signature ramen). The bowl came with a generous helping of ingredients which made for a good breakfast on a weekend, they're also eligible for the $3 PayLah rebate on Saturdays (though they're not on the listing).

Ordered the tonkotsu ramen, but it tasted quite different from typical tonkotsu – more like a light shio broth, but still not quite that either. My Japanese girlfriend called it “original Singapore ramen,” which might be the best way to describe it. The taste is still pretty good, and at $8 it’s solid value – comes with all the essentials like meat, egg, seaweed, and noodles. Don’t expect Hakata-style richness, but if you frame it as SG hawker-style ramen, it hits the spot.

Super! Must try! I am sure going to be back! Amazing and for reasonable price. Food... yummy! I love the rich soup base of the ramen. Tried the black garlic soup base, yum! The white base is equally good!!! The portion is good, more than enough! The pork slices are just too good! The onsen eggs are so good. Had items 12 and 17. Going to try others next time. Definitely a must try if you are at this place. There's free noodles upsize. There's also more affordable lunch sets. So check out the menu. Owner is patient and quick. Stall is right at a corner, be warn that weekend can be busy. There's a nice space right in front of stall.
