This place is amazing! We are on vacation and discover this place. Excellent steaks, seafood, deli sandwiches and super friendly staff. We’ve stopped in 3 of the 4 days we have been in town.

My wife and I got sandwiches for lunch - chicken and tuna salad - and were told our wait would be about 15-20 minutes. Understandable as it’s July 4th weekend and they’re super busy. What didn’t sit right with us was that 15-20 minutes turned into roughly an hour. I inquired about the status on our subs because other customers were receiving theirs and as they were ready the Butcher Block employees would come out into the dining area to find/hand the customer their order. This did not happen for my wife and I. When I asked, an older woman behind the counter she scoffed at me like I was in the wrong for asking and barked at me that they’re super busy and called our order out a long time ago - they did no such thing. When we went to find our subs sitting at the front of the store only one was prepared - my wife’s chicken salad. When I told them we’re still missing the tuna salad, the same lady began to laugh at us like we’re a couple of idiots. Very disheartening that the respect I was giving to this employee was not reciprocated. Please do better in the future.

WOW this is a must-stop for anyone passing through or staying for the week. Incredible sandwiches for a great price! Great selection of beer on tap or canned. It takes a while for the sandwiches to be made but they’re made to order and constructed with quality (versus a quick sandwich shop that would just toss everything on). Relaxed when it comes to covid precautions, but my whole family is vax’d so it we were comfortable and didn’t mind.

We were staying nearby and went here several times for lunch. Amazing sandwiches and beer selection. So glad we found this place.

Butcher Block is our definite go to for high quality always fresh seafood. If you have not been- you are missing out not only on quality meats and seafood, but wonderful service and a welcoming community. Make sure you plan on enough time for a flight from the craft beers on tap. Amazing place! Staff was incredibly nice, and excited to talk about what your cooking/recipes. Clean, friendly, and had a large selection of cuts. Got a full flank of salmon, it was amazing. Love the crab cakes!! Bought a few by accident, so glad I did! Can't wait to go back.

Every year we stop by here to pick up all of my grilling needs including there Italian sausage links hamburgers as well as their steaks! Their breakfast sausage is excellent as well and don't even get me started on their Boar's Head made to order sandwiches they are out of this world! I will continue to shop here every year as we come down to the Outer Banks for a week and I'm in the store at least three or four times during that week to say hi to Johnny who is a great guy and runs a great business.

Butcher Block offers subs and quite a number of unique offerings. My companion & I split a Route 12 sub, which features turkey, havarti, lettuce, tomato, served with mayo on a tasty roll. We took it to nearby OBX beach. Yum.

This place is great! The team was very nice and the shop was clean and inviting. Everything we had was amazing. We stopped in to have a club sub. The sandwich was perfect. We took pork chops and chicken salad to-go. All three items were perfect! Thank you and we will be back!

Deli sandwiches were awesome and we purchased fillets to grill that night. The meat was cut well and had a great flavor. Highly recommend.

Came here two days ago with my daughter while we were out and the sandwiches we had were so good, had to bring the wife up there today to try it out. She had the route 12 and I had the Butchers club. To say these sandwiches were great is an understatement. Super fresh meats, cheeses, veggies and bread. The customer service was absolutely phenomenal. Whenever you're in town, make sure to stop by here and grab yourself a sandwich.

Pretty disappointing service. I ordered a beer, drank it, and then went to pay, but no one seemed willing to help. I just kept getting ignored (blank stares, haha). Finally, someone came over and acted incredibly appalled that I wanted to pay my bill, like I was bothering him. It wasn't even busy, or at least it wasn't busy by most standards. Save your money and head across the street for better food.

What a great place to stop in for a delicious sandwich, and foremost, for an ice cold micro brew as you wait for your order. We also loved all the unique spices, sauces, and other food accents they offered. We got a growler of our favorite brew to-go.... I suggest you do the same. Ps. The staff were Awesome as well!!!

This review is solely for the Brew Dolly service offered by Butcher Block. They offer a home kegerator service with a variety of different styles of beers. Working with Johnny was a breeze. He was attentive, easily accessible, timely with his service. He delivered a kegerator and beer to our vacation of home of 15 people already ice cold and made sure everything worked properly before leaving. The ice lasted surprisingly long and we never had to add any more to it. Half way through the week, it was time for a new keg, and rather than just replacing the keg, he brought in a whole new kegerator unit as well. Whatever your vacation beer preferences are, call Johnny and he will be able to walk you through it. We weren't able to utilize the butcher shop or deli, but can't wait to try it next time around.

The food was amazing! highly recommend the meatball sub! the whole family loved all the subs! We will definitely be back.

We had sandwiches. I had the Italian stallion, and my son had the buffalo chicken. Both were meaty and delicious . They have beers on tap, small assortment but good. The meat case looked good and we picked up some fresh ground sausage and a hat for good measure. Nice home town feel and friendly staff..

I love finding establishments like this while on vacation. Yes, if you looked them up you'd understand they are way more than just a meat counter but we drove by this place for almost a week not going in because we were eating out every night. This was a huge mistake, while they have an extensive array of fresh meats, they also have amazing selection of sandwiches and great beer on draft (and cans to go). If your a turkey fan I recommend the route 12, but the off-season looked amazing as well. All this combined with great friendly service. At the end of even the best vacations I always find myself yearning for home. This is the type of place I wish I could pack up in my suitcase and take with me.

This place is AWESOME. They have craft beers on tap and in bottles, so you can drink while you shop. Their selection of steaks and seafood is top notch. The staff is super friendly, and won't try to upsell you on anything - they'll even tell you what's the freshest. The scallops were great. The ribeye was thick and delicious. The mahi mahi was nice and fresh - cooked perfectly on the grill and was super flaky. And we also bought some of the wahoo, which was the catch of the day. Never had it before, but the mahi was better. Everyone here was super nice. We came here before going to Food Lion since we wanted to load up on the good stuff first, and they were more than happy to keep our food refrigerated until we returned. They also sell sandwiches and all sorts of sauces!

We usually stay in Corolla's Whalehead community during our yearly beach trips. The last few years we have stayed in Duck and didn't quite drive up to Corolla. This year we came back to Corolla. We discovered some new places including Butcher Block. This place is in the Food Lion shopping area just across from Timbuck 2. The guys were very hospitable. They serve made to order sandwiches. On our first visit we ordered a couple of sandwiches: Italian and Roast Beef. The meat to bread ratio was perfect in fact more meat than we ever get at the chain delis. They use Boars Head which is my very fave. On our next visit, we stopped in to pick up shrimp($12.99 lb). They will season and steam for free. Those were some amazingly large shrimp. They bring them in fresh daily except Wednesday and Saturday. Their fresh made sausages and fresh cut steaks were priced competitively to the grocery store but you are getting some nice looking beef. The shop also sells a variety of sauces and now they carry beer on tap. There are also growlers for sale. This place is a must visit if you are in the Duck or Corolla or Cardova areas!

Where to start? This place is amazing. We stopped in for a beer and were treated like best friends that stopped off to chat. Ordered a beer and the nice guy brought them to use and chatted for a bit. Spoke to regulars there who were treated like friends too. Came back and had subs for lunch. They are delicious and full of the ingredients. It has a small dining area but it is a deli, meat, and fish counter. Beer while waiting is icing on the cake. Customer service is fantastic!

Stumbled on this place and wanted to check out the craft beer selection and I was pleasantly surprised. Best selection I've seen in Corolla! Super helpful staff. The meat selection looked great but I just went for the craft beer. They had 9 brews on tap too. Very nice find for craft beer!

If you want an excellent sandwich, this is your go to! Love the variety and the freshness. Also, the butcher has excellent fresh meats and seafood for purchase Beer can also be purchased and a kegerator for rent.

Stumbled upon this place while searching for a quick lunch. Yay for us! The Turkey Gobbler and a Carolina Brewery Sky Blue on tap were perfect! Great service. We will definitely be back!

Always an amazing lunch, fresh cut meats and some daily specials. Johnny and his crew are always smiling and ready to serve. Also they aren't so expensive as many places in corolla geared toward tourist dollars. Not all of us can eat a 20$ lunch everyday, Butchers Block has affordable lunches for the working man!!

Best experience you will have in Corolla. Johnny the owner has stories and beer flowing when your deciding on your cut or Seafood. Great place to spend a few hours

Very friendly staff. A true family owned business. The fresh selection of meat and seafood is impressive. They also offer a variety fresh sandwiches and make their own sausage as well. There is a selection of choice wines and several types of sauces and spices too. The place is really clean, which I appreciate.

The Butcher Block is the only place to go for fresh seafood, meats, cheese, and the perfect meal. I love the Boar's Head brand and the prices at Butcher Block are unbelievable. The crab legs, steaks, brats, little necks, scallops, fish, and shrimp are second to none. The staff is always engaging, helpful and personable. This is one of my favorite places to visit on The Outer Banks!!!

We had our turkey and chicken sandwiches today.. That was freshly made and was delicious.. Highly recommended.. :)

We came here for some subs. There are a few little food places in this strip and we chose the right one by coming here! I got the turkey gobbler- turkey, havarti, Granny Smith apples, and caramel glaze. So good! I was excited to try something unique like that. My husband got the 4x4 which was also great and had a much more savory flavor. Great food made to order! Highly recommend if you are a fan of deli subs. Beer on tap too!

My wife and I ordered a couple of subs and they were outstanding. Workers were very friendly and the prices were very reasonable. Will be back again soon.

I'll keep this short. If you want excellent service, fresh local seafood, house made sausage, great cuts of beef or pork or maybe even a sandwich, I urge you to stop in. They have a small selection of wines and even a few NC wines as well as assorted mustards and sauces. We took home a jar of Sonny's BBQ sauce which the owner makes himself and used it for pulled pork. My only regret is we didn't buy more than one jar. The sauce was delicious! I'll definitely stop in again when I am in the area. Excellent choice in Corolla where options can be somewhat limited.

These people are very accommodating ! They closed and re opened for us. Seafood and steaks are Awesome! Their "lemonade" (adult beverage) is absolutely tasty on a hot day!!!! Bought 2 growlers and they were GONE in less that 2 hours! Highly recommend you stop in and get your own surf n turf to cook up!!!

Very good sandwiches. They stack on the meats that remind me of the great grinders of Connecticut. Good bread. Only flaw was the lettuce, which is better shredded very thin.

Excellent sandwiches! Call in advance if you're in a hurry. Everything is hand made to order and great quality. Super helpful staff have great recipe ideas.

Delicious sandwiches but that's just the start, nice selection of boars head products and delicious meats and seafood. In addditon to the sandwiches, I bought some local shrimp and Chesapeake rockfish for dinner last Friday and it was absolutely fabulous! When in Duck or Whalehead this is my go to for carry out sandwiches and seafood! Great service as well!

Beer andddd MEAT? yes please. Love this place. I could have just hung out all day, but i had to go back to the house to cook their wonderful meat. Their selection was very good and its a real butcher. They cut us what we wanted, that's hard to come by these days. The only way this could be any better would be: they offer a grill to rent, outside, so i could cook my meat and hang out longer. cheers.

Stopped in here while the wife was grabbing groceries across the way. Holy cow what a place! Beer flights (cheap) and fresh, made to order sandwiches?!? Yes please! Perfect little hidden gem. Oh and the butcher shop part is cool too! Meats and seafood looked enticing and I will be back to get some fresh cut steaks for later in the week...will update when I do. The staff are awesome as well.

This review is only based on the seafood. Do not buy seafood from here ! It is not fresh. Clearly pre frozen and not something you should expect in a beach community. Bought sushi grade tuna and a swordfish steak - nasty and still smelled fishy after cooking.

Wow! So impressed. On Thanksgiving day, we weren't cooking and made a last minute decision to grab some lunch before a movie and saw the Butcher Block was open. We walked in and were welcomed with open arms, ate delicious, fresh sandwiches while enjoying a beer. They were supposed to be closing a few minutes after we walked in but they actually suggested we sit and enjoy our lunch. THIS is the type of business and customer service that compels me to write a review (which I never do). The meats look excellent as well. Go check this place out when you're visiting!!

Great hand cut steaks and excellent selection of fresh fish! This summer they started making sandwiches and they are awesome! Ask for Jonny, good guy will set u up right for your family barbarque !!!

My friend and I got the Turkey Gobbler sandwich and we really enjoyed it. I only wish I'd asked for extra caramel sauce. The hard lemonade is unbelievable! Unfortunately, it only comes in a pint for immediate consumption or a growler to take home.

Ordered the Butchers Club. The bread to meat ratio was pretty good. It was really pretty tasty. I would get it every day if I could. Though I didn't buy any beer, I liked that they had craft beer on tap as well as growlers. May take them up on it next time im in.

Read about the amazing shrimp and that they will steam and spice them for you. WOW! The shrimp was fresh caught that day. Best shrimp ever! Brought it home along with a growler of hard lemonade. Great dinner. Everyone was so helpful. Next time we are going back for awesome looking steaks.

This is a new butcher and seafood shop that just opened in the Food Lion shopping center in Corolla. My wife and I just happened to see it oon our way to a nearby restaurant. After lunch, we stopped in and bought a nice piece of swordfish for dinner. There's a nice selection of meat (prices seem competitive with the supermarkets, but the meat looks better), seafood, including local seafood, and Boars Head products.

While on vacation I was looking for a place to get some good steaks. Well you won't go wrong here! The butcher hand cut ten 8 ounce ribeye steaks while I waited. They were some of the best we have tasted. So tender they almost melt in your mouth!

Amazingly delicious meat. You must stop by for your week at the beach. Try the breakfast sausage it's amazing. Hamburgers are off the hook. Johnny and the staff are amazing. Pull up a stool and have a beer with them!

Was very pleased with the selection and service! We went in to purchase seafood for our big last night seafood feast! The guys were very patient and helpful while I tried to figure out how much of what to buy! I'll be back next year for sure!
