Ok so the weather was horrific but when you're staying somewhere a lovely as this it doesn't seem to matter! Our room - 508 - was the only one with a balcony and it had stunning views across the bay to the mountains. The room was immaculate and so comfortable with the plushest carpet, fireplace, sofa, huge tv, very comfortable bed, welcome chocolates, water, bathrobes & slippers. The staff were all so lovely both before and during our stay. Breakfast was really good and dinner in the restaurant was absolutely delicious - such a mouth-watering menu! There's a big car park around the back with plenty of free parking. Overall, just the perfect hotel and we can't wait to return when hopefully the weather is better! Well done everyone and keep up the good work!

We recently returned to this hotel after four years, and found it hasn’t changed at all and not in a good way. From the moment we arrived, it felt like the place had been left behind. The exterior had overgrown grass, the windows were old, and a dull atmosphere. Some bright flowers would go a long way in making it feel more welcoming.|Inside, the hotel was very quiet and felt rather tired overall. For €285 a night, we were expecting more in terms of comfort and ambiance. The rooms did not live up to the hotel’s 4-star rating — they were functional but looked old and were not up to a standard you’d expect at this price point.|After returning from a lovely evening at Mick O’Dwyer’s The Villa, we hoped to have a nightcap at the hotel bar, only to find that both the bar and restaurant were completely closed, lights out at 10:30pm. We were directed to the Fisherman’s Pub instead, but we didn’t like the vibe there and ended up leaving.|On a positive note, breakfast was very good and the staff in the restaurant were friendly and professional. Breakfast is made to order, and the food was fresh and tasty. However, there were no extras such as fruit, yogurt, or cereals available that we could see, just the main meal from the menu, along with tea/coffee and juice which was by the entrance.|The location and view from this hotel is second to none, however, the hotel is lacking something. We had fond memories of our previous stay, but this time our expectations fell short. The hotel has potential, but it needs investment and attention to live up to its rating and pricing.

Liked our stay at this hotel for sure. Family room so spacious (biggest we have stayed in) with access to a little lawn outside and chairs. Staff very friendly. Big snooker table there and very clean. Central location Food in restaurant was fine. For a hotel it was ok. Would have liked a nicer vegetarian option. They did a pasta dish on request which was nice of them. My husband got Chicken supreme and it was like a nice. Would stay here again.

We dropped in here for a brief break while driving part of the Ring of Kerry as my grandfather knew Charlie Chaplin and we had heard he stayed here on several occasions. We ordered tea and scones. The staff sat us in a beautifully furnished living room overlooking the bay. The scones with butter and strawberry jam and the proper clotted cream were absolutely the BEST scones I have ever tasted! The tea was good too - nice and hot. The whole hotel was full of old world charm and the staff very attentive. Next time we would love to actually stay here! In the meantime the memory of those scones lingers!!

Stayed there last night with my partner. The bed and the pillows were comfortable, shower was good, overall the room was cleaned but there were few stains in the carpet (I guess it’s just old). There was a very old hair dryer that didn’t work very well. The bar and the restaurant were nice. We had dinner at the hotel, my starter was lovely, however the main course was not good ( I had the seafood chowder, it was just a tomato soup with 2 little pieces of salmon. Breakfast was disappointing. My partner and I travel a lot around Ireland, we have stayed in other 4 starts hotels that were absolutely amazing for a little less price, so when he paid 250 euros for a double room, our expectation were high. I would not complain if the price was lower, it’s just not worth 250 euros.

I have stayed there several times in the past on golf trip. We were doing a trip throughout southwestern Ireland. The location is great (right in Waterville). Hotel was a little more tired than I remember. The night was hot and there was no fan and the windows did not open very much

The Butler Arms is the perfect combination of old world charm and elegance with modern fixtures, furnishings, and food! We stayed there for two nights in a suite that overlooked the bay. Originally we had booked only one night, but soon after seeing the room and the view, we had to book another. We were treated like old friends from the pleasant staff. Thank you to specifically Javier at reception who was amazing—even on his first day! Breakfast was included and incredible—much more elevated than the “full Irish” you may find at other places. Go, spend a little extra and book the suite. You won’t regret it.
