Butler Court Guest Accommodation

First time reviewing, but my fourteenth time visiting since 2004 and pretty much every year since 2017. You can't get a better hostess and host than Yvonne and John Dalton - courteous, friendly, helpful. Exceptionally clean rooms, very reasonable accommodation pricing and wonderful continental style breakfast with fresh fruit, cereals, snacks and coffee/tea. Room size very ample for three pax with refer, TV and truly modern bathrooms. Centrally located in Kilkenny walking is easy, street crossings favor pedestrians and pretty much most touristy things under twenty-five minutes. Wonderful accommodations in a truly interesting city of about 20,000 folks with many outstanding restaurants, pubs, historic sites with lots to see and do.

I learned about Butler Court from my Rick Steves book. Yvonne was quick to reply to my reservation request. The location is excellent in the heart of beautiful Kilkenny. Yvonne is a gracious host, showing us our accomodations and providing us with useful information about Kilkenny itself. The rooms are very modern and well-appointed. I LOVED having a top sheet on my bed instead of the usual duvet only. The breakfast is continental in your room-there is a fridge and kettle- and offers a variety of high quality items including coffee-instant and filter, tea, lovely yogourts, home made bread, preserves, cereal, juice and FRESH FRUIT. Each unit has its own door to the courtyard and the courtyard has a locking gate to the street providing extra security.

This was the best hotel of our 10 day Ireland stay. Yvonne was so helpful and cheerful. She showed us a map of the area and what she recommended. The room was delightful- immaculate and nicely decorated. There was a giant metal gate that locked in front of the hotel. We liked feeling a bit more safe in Kilkenny. There was an outside table and two chairs, but it rained so we missed using it. The continental breakfast was very good. We would defined return to this hidden gem!

This was our first visit to Ireland. Butler Court, Kilkenny was a perfect place to stay. Yvonne met us when we arrived from the airport on the bus. Warm, friendly and welcoming. We spent 4 days exploring Kilkenny. Walked everywhere. Loved all the history, music , food and the people. Delicious healthy breakfast every morning was a great way to start our adventures! Being in the middle of all the action was so rewarding , location was perfect . When we needed a break, our quaint place was always nearby for some peace and quiet!

We had an amazing stay in Kilkenny at Butler Curt! Yvonne reached out via email before our arrival and encouraged us to come when we arrived, even though we were getting in early. Having come from Dublin off an overnight, international flight, we were welcomed to an early check in that allowed us to freshen up. She provided local insights to the things to see and do. Our room was well maintained and perfect for our stay. The location is within walking distance to so many things and made for a convenient hub during our stay. The bed was very comfortable and the courtyard offered a nice respite. Our room included a nice selection of breakfast foods that were perfect for our needs. We will definitely stay again should we return!

I don’t know where to start. This was our absolute favorite place. Our host Yvonne and John were wonderful. They spared no detail. From something as simple as a makeup mirror to a phenomenal continental breakfast, which goes beyond the definition of most continental breakfast. They were friendly, they provided a map of the area and gave us a highlight of the sites to touch upon. We slept well and that speaks to the comfort of the bed and bedding. I could go on and on. But I do know, should we return to Kilkenny, we will definitely request a room at Butler Court.

Everything here has been prepared so thoughtfully. Yvonne’s welcome at our arrival was warm and helpful. She expertly told us everything we needed to know about our stay and the town of Kilkenny. The continental breakfast was so good and my husband and I both agreed that it surprised us how much we enjoyed eating in our room this morning. The room is everything we hoped it would be and we loved the shower! Also, the location can’t be beat AND free WiFi and parking. Well done Yvonne!

Beautiful room in a lovely courtyard setting. We had 2 separate rooms for 3 adults right across from each other. Drop off luggage first and then go park the car in the complimentary designated lot. Great location for exploring Kilkenny. Each room was stocked with continental breakfast which was plenty (cereal, yogurt, fruit, milk, juice, etc).
