Butler Hotel

Renovated and rename to Taichung Leisure Hotel. I think the information on Google map does not update yet but it is here. I book the single bed room. The breakfast is free of charge, but don't expect. it's normal Taiwanese breakfast, some porridge, stir fried pork and stir fried veggie. The room is just fine. It's comfortable but I think it can be cleaner. There is lot of dust on the lamp and telephone. The provided hair dryer also doesn't look safe at all too. Comparing to the price, it may more price worthy to just book a hostel if you don't mind having some personal space than just stay over night

It’s a good option for solo travelers like me as it offers single rooms at an affordable price. Location wise, it’s strategically located as it’s near the Metro station and has a lot of stores and restaurants nearby (KFC, 7/11, etc). The breakfast offering is also sufficient and taste delicious. The room is spacious and the bed is comfortable as well. Would highly recommend this hotel in Taichung.

Hotel is located just 2 mins always from train station, very convenient for transfer any public transportation. And The main reason i choose this property because it’s just across to my favourite Foam Cat Cafe. I can see it from window room.7-11 just a minute away. Breakfast not many varieties but ok for local hotel.Staffs are very helpful and good English Skill.

My experience at this hotel was extremely frustrating. The booking document clearly stated a 3:00pm check-in time, but when I arrived, the staff at the counter informed me that check-in was only available between 3:00 and 3:30pm. I waited until 3:31pm and returned to the counter to check in, only for the staff member to tell me that the time was actually 2:29pm and that I still couldn't check in. Despite showing him the time on my phone, he continued to deny it. After a moment, another staff member, clearly uncomfortable with the situation, grabbed a room key from a box on the desk and gave it to me. So, the room was ready the whole time—why the unnecessary delay? The entire situation was very confusing and disappointing. ||The booking was made through Capital One Travel. I sent my complaint to Capital One, simply asking them to forward it to the hotel without requesting any compensation. To my surprise, Capital One was very considerate and offered me a full refund.

I recently stayed at Hotel Leisure Taichung and was disappointed with my experience. While the hotel's location directly opposite Taichung train station is convenient, the room's air-conditioning unit was completely ineffective. Despite the high summer temperatures (around 32°C), the room remained unbearably hot. I requested a room change, but unfortunately, the situation did not improve. The older male staff explained that the air-conditioning system was centrally controlled and could not be adjusted individually for each room. This made for a very uncomfortable and restless night. I would advise potential guests to carefully consider the air-conditioning situation before booking a room at this hotel, especially during warmer months.

The hotel is literally located just across the street from Taichung Old Station (TRA), and is super accessible with plenty of food options around (as well as easy access point for day trips to Sun Moon Lake etc.)

The hotel has a perfect location, just next to the train station. The receptionist let us check in earlier. The room is clean, everything is all good except the leaky shower head.

Location is excellent. The room rate is very reasonable. But the smell of air refresher is too strong. Room with no window is not recommended.
