I happened to pass by the little cafe in Jalan Besar and went in to have a scoop of ice cream last Saturday 12 Apr. I ordered the lychee raspberry and it was pretty good I must say. The service was great as the person at the counter did inform me that the ice cream stock had just arrived and all ice cream were soft, which Is how I like it usually. I was promptly served a scoop for $5.50.

Called in to ask about the cakes and a guy answered. 15 minutes later, we got to the shop and was being well-served. Got the Chocolate Pistachio Kunafa cake for $59. Great buy, great service! Thank you to the gentleman at the counter who was v eloquent!

Came in with my husband to pass time while waiting for our motorbike to be done~ got 2 ice cream and a drink and they were super generous with the portions! One of our ice cream flavor we ordered was not chilled yet so we had to change the flavor, but the owner was so nice to offer us a slice of Chocolate Pistachio Kunafa cake for the inconvenience, and the cake was sooooo good! We will definitely be back to chill here again 🤗

Had a fantastic time at Singapore's first cake painting café with my kids! They loved painting their own cakes, and it was such a fun, creative experience. Butter Studio is super kid-friendly, with stroller parking, coloring sheets, and a kids' corner with toys to keep them entertained while waiting for food. Their cakes are super delicious! Plus, their dishes like Lamb Ribs and Chicken Waffles were a hit too. Highly recommend this unique and fun outing for families!

Nice quiet cafe to relax and chill. Highly recommend lemon tart, not too sour or too sweet.(didnt manage to take a pic of it though) Lychee cake was good but lemon tart still wins HAHA

Yelp
A random little cafe in Little India. To be very honest, I stopped in for the wifi (which you can just ask the girl behind the counter for), and ended up having the red velvet cake with sea salt caramel drizzle. It hit the spot! Would be a great place to meet up with friends for a nice quiet chat. Very cutesy decor, with little hanging lights and quotes/sayings on the walls. Bathroom is in the back, through a small storage room.

Yelp
One of the first thing that comes to my mind when I see the word "Butterstudio" is butter (not buttermilk). Indeed, this Halal Cafe located in the Jalan Besar has won fans for its cupcakes and other pastries. However, it is also cosy place that offers brunch items like egg benedicts and pancakes. The Signature Red Velvet Cake ($7.90/slice) is drizzled with salted caramel for that savoury balance. The cake is moist and tender but the efforts were rendered futile by the intense sweetness evident in both the cake and the cream cheese. These seemed to be the case for the cupcakes and jar cakes, which were a pity because they looked good and stirred my excitement initially. However, the Sea Salt Nutella Tart was an instant winner with a crisp shortcrust shell and rich creamy Nutella. The addition of salt magically brought the Nutella to an optimal sweetness. The Belgian Chocolate Tart comes close behind with a 50-60% chocolate cream blended with milk chocolate but the cacao taste did not shine brilliantly that day. If you love poached eggs, you will be extremely pleased to know that there is quite a number of dishes to choose from the brunch menu. From the Norwegian Salmon Bagels ($18) to the Classic Egg Florentines in Ciabatta ($13), each one comes with 2 poached eggs and Hollandaise sauce. The classic Morning Benedicts ($12) is still the reliable choice as nothing beats a well-buttered and toasted English muffin layered with chicken ham and turkey bacon. Packed with a crispy hash-brown, scrambled eggs and cheese in a tortilla skin, the hangover breakfast wrap ($12) might not be the most delicious cure but it is definitely a nourishing pack to fight the headache and perk you up for the rest of the day.

Yelp
A very nice cafe along a stretch of Jalan Besar more known for its motorcycle accessory shops. Opens till late on Fridays and Saturdays, so you can pop over here for a sit and rest after bustling your way through Little India and Mustafa Shopping Centre. They describe their offerings as "not overly fussy" and "served with warmth" and that's quite an apt description. The baked foods look good with none of that "look at me I'm an exquisite dessert" nonsense and there's quite a wide variety of product on offer. While I haven't tried most of the food on the menu, I can tell you that the Salted Caramel Nutella Tart is a sweet-tooth-satisfying crunch, the Chicken Ham & Egg Toast Cup is a unexpectedly comforting chomp, and the Muddy Mud Cake is probably the best chocolate cake I've had in a cafe. Served warm, the Muddy Mud Cake is a delicious gobble that is just moist enough and the right amount of dense that makes for a toothsome chomp that isn't pound-cake heavy nor fleetingly airy. The Lemonade Jar is a nice refreshing sip but disappointingly, the lemonade doesn't get served in the jar. It's poured out into the large glass with ice instead, which is a perfectly acceptable way to enjoy lemonade. But the jars just look so inviting in the counter. Anyway, there is also a range of coffees and teas and the usual suspects on the drink menu. Butter Studio isn't very large, but it's a cosy, comforting space. You can chill solo or come with your friends for a quiet chat, or for some board or card games that you can find for free use at the corner of the cafe. They host crafty workshops and performances every once in a while too.

Yelp
Having relocated from their original store at Changi Airport Terminal 3 (which is only a takeaway store), Butter Studio has now moved to Jalan Besar, where now it has a dine-in space and still offers the same variety as their previous outlet. They now have all-day brunch! Sweets selection And the cupcakes, cakes, tarts and drinks menu! The Sea Salt Caramel Nutella Tart ($6.90), which is one of their signature items, is satisfying. The Nutella, mixed with the sea salt caramel and accompanied with walnuts on top, tasted rich. The tart crust is firm and not too crumbly. Yet another option for bakes and cakes within the Jalan Besar area (and it's also rather convenient since it faces the main road!)
