The venue itself is appealing with trendy decor. It's not my akin to my personal tastes for a regular night of drinking, but it's a consideration for special gatherings. While it appears expensive, the happy hour prices are quite good. I had one Jack & Coke plus a glass of white wine. The Jack & Coke came out to $6. Getting attention at the bar was a pain. A long bar takes up one side of the wall and a few booths are facing it, so there is only one long narrow space for standing. The music can get ridiculously loud for a non-dance friendly venue.

I've planned two events here, a corporate event with 30+ people and my birthday party with 25+ people. Both were open bar events for 2 hours. The staff is extremely easy to work with, very professional and prompt in responding. In my experience all (within reason) requests are normally granted and they really help work with your budget. I've also just recently attended a free open bar and passed hors d'oeuvre event for their anniversary and it actually blew me away, my coworkers and I were easily able to get FREE drinks, we averaged 6 a person, and they were consistent in passing out the free grub. There was also some face painting thrown in. It was AWESOME - I really hope they do it again next year. The space is a bit narrow between the bar and booths and during happy hour it gets pretty crowded. Before and after the happy hour the place is a ghost town. The staff that I've interacted with so far are lovely and efficient. One specific bartender during the anniversary event was my favorite bartender of the place. She was so attentive even though there were 30 people in front of her section of the bar. When I went to her it only took 5 minutes to get a drink. She was also downing Red Bull like a boss and always made two drinks at once lol.

I first came here for the grand opening happy hour years ago and have stopped by a few times since then. I like the atmosphere. It's chic and mid 20's+ crowd. Also, the food was great for lunch. I think it's a good place for after work happy hour

As far as bars in Midtown go (especially Midtown EAST) I'm normally not a fan - however I really like Butterfield 8. I'd even come here on a Saturday afternoon if I'm looking for something calm and not overflowing with a college/frat crowd. I've been coming to this bar for about 3+ years now because it's only a few blocks away from my office. I've been here for World Cup games, Yankee games, lunch, dinner, munchies and when I need a beer at a random time. I've also planned afterwork office happy hours here and their manager, Melissa, has always been friendly, warm and hospitable - even giving us an hour of open bar to get us started. Megan is hands down my favorite bartender here. Aside from being adorable and cheerful everytime I've seen her I love the fact that she remembers me and my old coworker who I'm very close to. She never pressures us to order anything we're don't want, is fun to chat with and she knows how to pour a beer (it's a pet peeve of mine when I get a beer with too much foam/head, her pours are on point!). It's a shame that they recently got rid of Sam Adams on tap. It's the only thing I like a lot that comes out of Boston and now I'm going to have to go elsewhere when my liver requires Oktoberfest! The food here is your standard bar fare, but elevated...if that makes any sense. I've had their chicken tenders, they're not bad. I've had their mac n' cheese (only $6!!!), comes with bacon and japapeños (I only do the bacon!) and it's actually quite delicious, their truffle/paremesan tater tots are soooooo addicting, their open-face steak sandwich could use some work, their pesto grilled chicken sandwich isn't bad (the chicken is a little drier than I prefer, but I've only had it once so perhaps it was a fluke), their loaded mashed potatoes include CHEESE, BACON, CHIVES and SOUR CREAM - (is also $6!!!!) and worth every spoonful of it! Also their spinach dip with tortilla chips is quite amazeballs! But the mashed potato, mac n' cheese and truffle/parmesan tater tots are def my fave noms here. Happy hour is usually the corporate crowd, but I've chatted with some interesting folks at this time so it's all good. I believe their happy hour is $3 domestic drafts, $4 imported drafts and $4-5 well drinks. They also have some daily specials as well, I enjoyed a wine night of some sort...I don't remember the day of the week...this is a sign that I clearly had a good time, lol. I like this place a lot :).

Asked the hostess if they were going to put the sound on for the Broncos game 30 minutes before and she said "of course we are, we're a Broncos bar!". Game starts and I'm still listening to bad club music that's on too loud. I ask the waitress about the game sound and she said, we can't because it's Thursday night. I explain that the hostess said they would which is why I started for dinner. She gets an attitude and says "I already checked with the manager". And.. I'm done with Butterfield.

WHAAAT DID YOU SAY?!? I'm sorry but when I have to croak out my order to the bartender three times to get one drink, perhaps the music is oh a tad too loud? There were a fair amount of people there, but the music was *far* louder than necessary for the amount of people at the time. The martini I had was quite good - and must have been on special (not properly advertised - why don't places promote these unless this was an error?). We made a quick exit due to the noise factor. I was sad not to get the chance to try the much touted mac 'n cheese. I'm totally going back on an off night to try that out. Mmmm.

It's half a block from my work so it was only a matter of time. Happy hour was good, typical Midtown crowd, a little bit more on the younger side. Didn't eat but my friend's salad looked pretty good.

I came here with a few friends and this place was packed. There not much space between the bar and the table/booths they had against the wall, so the whole environment was very tight with little space and everyone was hovering over the bar so it took a while to get a drink. I would recommend going where there isn't as many people there, so that you can get more attention from the staff since they were all over the place serving everyone.
