Butterflies Bar & Kitchen

A lovely Family night out to extend the Christmas season! The food was superb. I had Rarebit Mushrooms to start, a featherbed steak with garlic mash and seasonal veg, and salted caramel profiteroles to finish. Each course was fantastic : Delicious, well presented and enough to satisfy. Everyone in our small party thoroughly enjoyed their various meals. Waiting staff and bar staff were very professional, yet friendly, and the restaurants has an inviting ambience. The only tiny complaint would be the music was rather too loud for relaxed conversation across the table. Two of our party wear hearing aids, and the music meant they missed much of the conversation. Will definitely visit again though, the food was excellent.

Food was fantastic. Staff very friendly and nothing too much trouble for them. Tried the steak experience for two (£90) and was not disappointed. Friends had the festive experience for two (£69) which also looked amazing. Both meals were very reasonable. We will be returning as this place is just amazing . Hoping that they are dog friendly for our return visit. Thank you.

Lovely food, getting there is a little interesting with narrow streets and limited parking but can’t fault it when you’re there. The loaded fries as a side is big enough to be a main or sharer, burger was great too.

My 1st evening out in 11 months since having my baby to celebrate my husband’s birthday & oh my goodness! Starters we had the cod tacos & chicken thighs Mains we had the pork belly & beef burger Deserts we had the mixed berry pavlova & cookie dough Sides we had the ciabatta with red onion & cheese The food was next level, every bite was so flavoursome & cooked to perfection. The service was impeccable, we didn’t have to ask for anything! What a beautiful setting too, very homely & the autumnal decorations gave the place a real cosy feel. I even treated myself to a Mediterranean Orange Gin recommended by our lovely server. Thank you very much for such a lovely first evening out for us to enjoy our celebrations. Next time we are booking up for your delicious looking Sunday lunches to try.

This was the first time we've visited Butterflies and we were not disappointed. Hidden away in the middle of Blaenavon, this place is a real delight, with a relaxed atmosphere, superb food and service, all topped off with a cosy log fire to relax in front of. For starters, I opted for the lamb kofta, which was perfectly cooked and drizzled with a tangy mint yogurt. Main course was fillet steak, triple cooked chips, mushroom, onion ring, grilled tomato and accompanied with a beef dripping red wine sauce. The steak was huge and flavoursome, cooked perfectly and was complemented well with the rich sauch. It was easily the best steak I've ever eaten! Dessert topped this amazing meal with a chocolate and hazelnut gateau, which was divine. Service was friendly and attentive, without being over the top, and we really felt welcome and looked after. I can't believe we've never been to Butterflies before. We'll certainly be back again.

Booked here on open table for my sons birthday. 5 of us had starters and mains. Very good quality food and portions. Parking was a little awkward as there a no dedicated parking. Very good selection on the menu one of the best grill options in the area. Highly recommend.

Can't fault the food or service, staff were very intentive and couldn't ask for anymore. Lovely atmosphere, very good value considering the taste and amount of food. Will definitely be back. Will just note that unable to leave tip via card, so will bring some spare cash next time. Food ordered included both the beef and chicken burgers, dirty fries and dirty oni9n rings. Mac and cheese balls for starters. Delicious.

I went over a few years ago with my sister and was worried that it wouldn’t be as good as I bring my husband for our wedding anniversary, but heck I was wrong! The food was absolutely delicious, highly recommend the Welsh rarebit mushroom starter and the lamb main. The staff were professional and so lovely. My heart and tummy, which in fairness are very much connected, are very happy. We will definitely be back next time we are in Wales. Thank you wonderful team!
