Butterfly Home

We stop in this place last year summer. Great location. Very good service. The owner is really nice person. Great breakfast. A lots of steps to get on floor but there is a lift (a bit archaic, but works fine). Parking only payable on street. Room itself it's good, and bed quait comfortable. Problem is when you have room near the main corridor/balcony like we had, where others including the owner smoking, and we need to keep windows closed, otherwise we will have that smoke in our room and bathroom. I still recommended this B&B.

This property is at a perfect location for every mode of transportation in Budapest. Trains, trams, ferries, taxi or uber. My room had a very comfortable bed with clean linens and towels. Two sides of the room are windows looking out on a gorgeous view of the bridge and the Market building. The park in the front of the property provides lovely green space and there are restaurants and coffee shops just outside. The owner had great communication in WhatsApp and instructions to get into the building upon our arrival. The building has an old elevator and a series of doors and gates but it’s easy enough to solve through following the instructions from the owner for entry. A nice breakfast was served in the parlor in the morning and the owner let me purchase a super late check out. I was very grateful for that. I went to the Gellert Spa across the bridge and bathed there and so I did not use the shower in the room. I suspect the plumbing is old in a very old building but everything is kept clean and the staff obviously takes care at upkeep. I will definitely stay at Butterfly for my next visit to Budapest.

This is the worst hostel I have ever stayed in. First of all, there was constant noise in the room from other apartments — we could hear toilet flushing and a washing machine running until midnight. Second, we stayed there for 5 days and 4 nights, and they never cleaned the room. They only took out the trash. Everything in the room was very dirty, very shabby, and very old. The owner is very stingy — the breakfast is extremely poor. I ended up buying my own breakfast at the café “Brunch” downstairs. The selection is very limited: only bread, cheese, ham, and a few cheap snacks (tinned fruits and veggies). There weren’t even any eggs or vegetavles, salads available for breakfast. The balcony, rooms do not look like in the pictures. There are no flowers in the balcony and hall - just old pots with dry, yellow remains of plants. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had.

Great location along the Danube River and Central Market! Andras was in constant contact with us and gave us a lot of information and advice on where to eat and visit. Very kind and polite man and most importantly unpretentious. The bedroom was spacious bed was even more comfortable than mine back home! Not exaggerating!! Nice quiet place. One of the best B&B I stayed in Europe!

The room was comfortable, and I really enjoyed the ambience of the place. Breakfast was great with plenty of options to choose from. The location was very convenient, with the tram and metro right in front, making it easy to get around the city. The host provided all the information needed to travel and explore the city and was very quick to respond. Overall, I had a very good experience and truly enjoyed my stay.

We stayed at Butterfly Home on July 19–20 and everything was simply perfect. The location is right in the heart of Budapest, with easy access to public transportation. Most of the city’s main attractions are within walking distance, which made getting around very convenient. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable — and having a view of the Danube River from our window was a real treat. The interior design of the hotel is charming and creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere. What truly makes this place stand out is the hospitality of the host. We were welcomed with a smile, received great local tips, and felt genuinely cared for. It honestly felt like home. I wholeheartedly recommend Butterfly Home to anyone looking for a peaceful, central, and high-quality stay in Budapest. It was an unforgettable experience. Thank you, Butterfly Home!

Everything was perfect for our stay. Rooms were comfortable. The A/C was great in the heat of summer. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety. The hosts and staff are super friendly. We'll be back. 😎

Nice stay. Air conditioning very effective, which was needed in 30 degree heat. Room spotlessly clean, and shower good. Electrical plus socket hanging off wall one side of the bed, and the fridge was so noisy we had to turn it off at night. Disturbed sleep one night due to loud music. Suspect this came from another resident because there were no music venues nearby and we had the windows closed. Very close to amenities including restaurants, metro and trams. Good choice of breakfast and very pleasant host. I would recommend.
