Butterfly wonderland was fun! There were so many different kinds of butterflies and they had a room with the chrysalis. I was able to watch four butterflies emerge. I spent an hour and a half just taking pictures and watching the butterflies. So very cool! Unfortunately, their reptile area leaves much to be desired. After looking and looking and looking, I swear they only had critters in every fifth box. If they did have them in there, they're the best camouflage reptiles alive! In the fish room, one of the tanks was downright filthy! I was told that they had just cleaned the algae off the sides and within an hour it was going to be as clean as all the others but it was disappointing. The other tanks were lovely. The gift shop was very nice! A great variety of t-shirts, stuffed animals, toys, and all the things that you look for. Overall, it was a wonderful morning! I highly recommended if you're like me and love butterflies.

This was our first visit to Butterfly Wonderland as a family of four, and even with the military discount it was extremely expensive. We combined it with the aquarium experience and ended up spending over $360, which was honestly shocking for what you get. The butterfly experience itself was just okay. You start by watching a short 5–10 minute video, then see the cocoon area before entering the butterfly enclosure. While the butterflies are beautiful, the space is fairly small and you could easily spend anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes inside, depending on how long you linger. Overall, I wasn’t very impressed, especially considering the price. For the cost, I expected a much more immersive experience. I wouldn’t recommend this attraction for groups of two or more due to how overpriced it is.

Google
Awesome exhibit. Peaceful and calm. A wonderland of beautiful butterflies. There is also a koi pond to sit by. Upon leaving the exhibit continues with reptiles and sea creatures. There is a tank with a shark and stingrays. At the Arizona Boardwalk. Highly recommend

Google
My husband was in Scottsdale for business and I was with him, while he had meetings I went exploring and came across Butterfly Wonderland. I love butterflies, and this was an awesome experience. I would highly recommend it. They start with a film, and then have you go on to the entry area, after that they let you into the conservatory. Once you go inside, the butterflies fly all around you, in freedom, and they do land on you, so I would be patient. If you do have young kids that are squeamish, I would make sure they don't swat at them, so not to injury the butterflies. I personally loved it and had a beautiful blue one land right on my leg. It was a great time. I set inside the conservatory and watched them for an hour. Friendly staff.

Google
You cant go wrong walking through a tropical jungle with butterflies flying all around you! It was so soothing and calming! The staff were super helpful answering all our questions and giving us directions! Be warned, it's humid so dress accordingly! You won't regret stopping here in your visit to Phoenix!

Google
Butterfly Wonderland is awesome, let me start with that before getting into the few downsides. The whole concept is brilliant and beautiful. Not only are they helping preserve butterfly species and supporting conservation efforts, but they’re also giving the public a chance to experience these incredible creatures up close. That’s amazing! My only real complaint is the price. For two people, it’s about $75 for an experience that lasts roughly an hour or two at most. It’s a bit steep, but it feels better knowing the money goes toward something meaningful rather than just another theme park. Overall, I’d definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the area. Be sure to spend enough time in the sanctuary, you’ll want to slow down, take it all in, and hopefully have a few butterflies land on you!

Google
Beautiful way to spend an afternoon. We took our nephew who is four and he absolutely loved it. Staff was super friendly. We would definitely recommend.

Google
Had to convince my husband and teen son this would be fun, the definitely went for me but they ended up enjoying it. They do try and stagger how many people are inside at once, so there is a short video you watch first, then a room full of butterflies in different stages before you go in to the butterfly room. All 3 of us had butterflies land on us. It was really beautiful and a fun experience.

Yelp
First time going to a butterfly atrium. It was such an amazing experience! First you have to watch a 15 min video on butterflies before they let you go into the atrium. The atrium is so humid and could feel mucky at times. If you go, don't go too late because the butterflies will go to sleep closer to closing time. there's beautiful koi pond in there with an exhibition of various butterfly friendly plants. They also have a coffee bar and snack area after the atrium, then a little fish exhibition and then the gift shop.

Yelp
Butterfly Wonderland is one of several Scottsdale attractions located in the Arizona Boardwalk, a huge, two-story outdoor entertainment complex. Entry for 2 adults and a child is about $100, and I think kids who are naturally curious will find enjoyment here. However, if you have an overly active 5yo who likes to run around and have limited attention span, then this venue is probably not worth it. Upon entry, you are invited into an auditorium for a 3D video on butterfly that's maybe 5-10 minutes. We knew our son would not sit that long or be willing to put on glasses, so we skipped this. Next its the highlight of entering the Butterfly Sanctuary itself, a large garden with natural sunlight and humidity. Lots of plants, flowers, and butterflies of all shapes, sizes and colors. You can catch some of them in your palm, though in some cases they 'll land on your shoulder, hoodie, or off the rim of your cap like an upside down bat. They are attracted to bright colors. Afterwards, you go back inside and can check out the miniature reptile and sea-life exhibits. They had a Stingray pool, though I was more impressed with those gigantic Pacu fish. They eat everything and with their crazy metabolism. Overall, a decent place to visit and the Butterfly experience is somewhat unique. Entry fee a bit on the high side for the limited content though.

Yelp
We enjoyed our visit here for sure. My 4 year old daughter loooooves butterflies so we had to check it out. The experience begins with a 3D film explaining the life cycle of a monarch butterfly. Then you move into a room filled with chrysalises and then you go into the actual butterfly wonderland. The actual wonderland is very cool--so many butterflies. Cool area to walk around and explore, not huge but warm and tropical. We spent about 45 minutes in this section, which was just enough. Once you leave this area, there is a snack bar, a small aquarium, and a reptile section. And of course the experience ends with a gift shop with lots of fun goodies. I'm not sure if we will return--if we do, it will not be a while. Not that it's not cool, just that we got our fill. Definitely recommend a visit--a very unique place to experience--especially if you like butterflies!

Yelp
We went to the boardwalk for the conservation expo then decided to go here. For what it is, I think it's a bit pricey. Seeing the butterflies come out of their cocoon was cool. We skipped the 3D movie because my daughter was fussy and I didn't want to ruin that for anyone lol the atrium was smaller than I imagined but beautiful nonetheless. There were lots of butterflies. We had fun using the guide to identify them. Upon exit, you enter the cafe which is confusing because it comes before the exit which requires you to walk through 2 different exhibits so just note that if you are buying something to eat, you'll have to enjoy it before exiting because you can't have food or drink in the exhibits although you have no option but to walk through them to get out. This was a nice one time experience but I don't think I'd pay $33 for me and $22 for each of my children to get in again. SN: I got a coffee from the cafe. I didn't have high expectations and boy am I glad. It tasted like sugary perfume lol

Yelp
My 2 yr old loved this place! We were back and forth between doing this or the aquarium but ultimately decided to do this instead due to the time frame. The person at the window told us people usually spend 1-1.5 hrs here. When she said that initially, I was hesitant because it felt like a lot of money for an hour worth of entertainment but decided to give it a shot anyway. It is definitely pricy (I believe $30 or so for adults?) and most likely a once every year or two thing for us. I think I enjoyed the 3D film more than my kids although they did seem amused. The exhibit itself is kept at 80 degrees with humidity which is the environment the butterflies thrive in so keep that in mind when going. I felt like we could've spent a little longer there but it was a little toasty after a while. They do have some reptiles and fish as well which we spent the other half of our visit browsing. Overall, it was a fun activity and I'd recommend everyone to try it at least once. I didn't know how much my kids enjoyed it since they are so little and didn't seem too impressed while we were there but my two year old has brought it up multiple times since which made it all worth it. Don't forget to hit the carousel on your way out. That was also a highlight ;) I believe that was $5 a person

Yelp
My kiddo and I had a wonderful time. She loved the butterfly card with all the pictures of the butterflies around the world and their names. She was identifying each one as she saw them. She also enjoyed collecting the collector cards that you can pick-up around the exhibit. We ended up reading up on all of these cool reptiles and fish on the way home . Unfortunately, I don't think that it's worth the money. I believe it was about $37 per adult. We were there for maybe an hour and a half.

Yelp
This place was so much more than i imagined! You start off watching a short 3D film about monarch butterflies then enter a giant enclosed butterfly wonderland! There were so many and it was beautiful inside. It felt like a dream. It's also extremely kid friendly here and they had a few other animals on display. Def would recommend! I loved it and learned so much. The staff were also extremely knowledgeable and friendly. You can tell they love their jobs.

Yelp
It was amazing experience. Heads up they offer military discount for two people. So bring your CAC or military identification. You can buy your tickets over there and plus get the discounts. First there's video you watch about the butterflies with 3D glasses. Once you're done with the video, you go to one room and finally you get to see the beautiful butterflies. It's a great place to go with your friends and family. My niece wanted to go since we were visiting from Hawaii. Great experience and would go again.

Mari C.

Yelp
A cute spot for children, families, and even solo travelers that want to learn more about butterflies. Tour consists of a video primarily and then the chance to walk around to the various rooms and finally the peaceful butterfly garden. That's where I had the most fun finding the butterflies and having a couple fly over to greet me.

Yelp
I love Butterflies and this is the best place to be. Located at Arizona Boardwalk in Scottsdale. Known to be the "largest butterfly conservatory in the country right here in Arizona!" Per their website. With General Admission for $32.95+ tax, Military and child tickets available too. For the General Admission it includes a 3D movie learning about Monarch migration, see a live chrysalis exhibit and hang out in the butterfly conservatory to see the lovely butterflies. Learn about Bees and see a live Beehive. Enjoy the Koi Fish Garden as well. There's also access to the Rainforest Reptiles and the Tropical Waters exhibits. There are also Combo Tickets choice of picking 2,3 or 4 different attractions. There's food/snacks available at the snack bar also an awesome gift shop. We had a great time here exploring the Butterfly Wonderland. We captured many beautiful picture's with different types of beautiful butterflies, beautiful flowers and the Koi Garden. We enjoyed everything here. I am so happy we stopped in.

Yelp
First of all these butterfly things are pricey But I enjoy them and its worth it to me. First time here but have been to several including one in Aruba. My home state of Ohio has seasonal ones in Cincinnati and Columbus. In Aruba though the price got you in for a week ... would be nice if they all did that. If you are going to be in the area look at the combos options to save money on tickets. I spent every but of of an hour or 2. I already have reciprocal botanical garden pass but it's really cold this morning in the 30s. I was bitter cold and uncomfortable so found this to do inside while it warms up to the 50 and 60s. and this was very comfortable. Most butterfly things are super hot and humid glad it was nice. lots of butterflies ..fun

Yelp
I used to absolutely love butterfly wonderland and had a annual pass 10 years ago and was there quite often to get my annual pass worth. Fast forward to today. This is like a decade later. I brought my friend from out of town and it was nice to see updates to the place but the people that work at butterfly wonderland are not very friendly. They don't greet you when you walk in And I had to initiate conversation to the 2 women at the desk by the photo opt green screen. I was like we already have our tickets do we get them scanned here. The one that scanned us in just looked at me in disgust. Nothing came out of her mouth. No "enjoy your time, go this way" nothing. The other worker didn't even acknowledge us either. Okay maybe it's a one off days and they're having a bad day. We go down the hallway to make our way to the little butterfly movie and there's a school also waiting. The worker that would let us in to watch the butterfly video just stood there and starred. She then said if we want we can go see butterflies first and come back we could. Were in the cocoon room looking around and then we were ready to go into the conservatory. We get let in the little waiting area room. No instructions and door does say "wait for an attendant" so my friend and I wait. There is a worker on a stool near the door. After waiting for what seems like 10 minutes so we look at the worker on the stool in conservatory and knock on the window. She looks at us and gives us an ugly stare. We decided to go back to the cocoon room as we're not sure what to quite do. I've been here many times before in the past and this is so disorganized here. You would think workers would be happy to be working at such a beautiful place. I know I would and I used to for the winter wonderland holiday time as an angel. Everything was just off. The conservatory with butterflies was absolutely magically beautiful and my friend loved it. I know what to expect and do as I said I used to work here during the holidays. The only co worker that interacted with us positively was the attendant in the reptile room. It was a very disappointing visit.

Yelp
Butterfly Wonderland in Phoenix was a nice experience overall, but honestly, it felt extremely overpriced for what you get. The exhibits themselves were beautiful and well put together, but the cost just didn't match the experience. I enjoyed seeing the butterflies, but I left feeling a bit disappointed by the value for the price.
google avatar

Jennifer T.

Yelp
Definitely a must visit attraction if you're visiting Scottsdale/Phoenix AZ. The price is quite pricey..only reason I don't give it 5 stars.. definitely utilize the combo deals with other attractions at the boardwalk or check on Groupon for a deal to help save $.. The butterflies just brighten anyone's day..I'd recommend you go visit and experience it for yourself. *Warning it is quite humid here for a favorable environment for the butterflies...keep that in mind if you're planning to visit during a triple digit summer day*

Yelp
Very well done! I applaud the thought and care that went into building this beautiful sanctuary. It's very educational. So much fun to go and watch butterflies fly around with so many beautiful flowers and plants.
google avatar

Steve J.

Yelp
Fascinating world of butterflies. From their birth to their death, and everything in between. Neat facts to learn about migration, and other things about butterflies. 3-D movie explains it, then you can walk in a huge garden with lots of butterflies. They also have some reptiles, sea life, and bees.
google avatar

Diele K.

Yelp
Don't forget to wear bright colors for the best opportunity for a butterfly to land on you! What a cool place, even if I get terrified of them flying near me. One day, I'll have one land on me but enjoyed seeing them land on my niece. What a magical way to celebrate her turning one years old!
google avatar

Homeyra K.

Yelp
I took my 4 years old niece there and arrived around 9:30. The line was very small and not much wait. The plaza itself had also a lot of other venues such as a merry go around, the aquarium , a dinosaur display and few more. It is overall quite nice. We had a blast. It did get busy shortly after our arrival due to several school trips. The 3 d short movie about butterflies was wonderful. We were lucky to be kissed by many butterflies during our visit. They also have few reptile displays and aquariums. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. There is lots of parking.
google avatar

Jana T.

Yelp
I decided to visit with my six-year-old since we've done the aquarium before but never tried the butterfly experience. Tickets are $24.95 for adults and $17.95 for kids aged 2 and up. It's a bit pricey, but I went for it to try something new, especially during Christmas break--anything to keep my kid entertained and avoid going stir crazy at home! It was amusing to watch people get a little freaked out when a butterfly landed on them. Overall, it's a one-and-done kind of place, but it was fun nonetheless.
google avatar

Sherraine M.

Yelp
Overall such a great experience and my 2-year-old loves it! When we started we watched a 15-minute 3D video on the migration of butterflies. The video was so engaging my little one wanted to watch it again. As we moved there there was a little waiting room area where we all had to slowly wait to enter the Butterfly Wonderland but once you entered it did not disappoint. It was amazing! The setup was so calming and beautiful. Once you leave the butterfly area they have a mini aquarium set up and reptile area. All a nice add to the experience.

Yelp
Magical Mother's Day weekend @butterflywonderlandaz in Scottsdale, AZ, including a short 3D movie on Monarch migration, a walk through the hatchery, a visit to the butterfly garden, and the Milkweed Cafe. There's a reptile exhibit and an aquarium exhibit near the exit. We loved the insect snack vending machine.
google avatar

Louis B.

Yelp
First time there and the last time , I expected to see hundreds of butterflies when we went through the airlock doors , I as well as other people in the group we're unhappy to see very little amounts flying around . For the cost NOT WORTH IT !!!!!
google avatar

Laura P.

Yelp
We love visiting butterfly conservatory's when we travel. This was the largest facility we had been to but it might have had the least number of butterflies which was disappointing. It was also quite expensive for what we saw. The one thing I did love was the educational components, there was a great 3D movie, and I think we learned a lot through that. Overall I'd say it was just ok.
google avatar

Amanda A.

Yelp
We picked this as one of the 2 spots we visited while at Arizona Boardwalk. The 3D film was really informative and beautiful. It's at the start of the experience and I would recommend not to skip out on this. There's so much more here than just a butterfly conservatory. I had fun trying to find as many different butterflies as possible. When you get tired of watching butterflies there's a whole rainforest reptile exhibit to explore. Definitely a fun afternoon!

Yelp
I have been to some pretty awesome butterfly zoos/gardens in the USA. This is not the biggest nor the nicest I have ever been. I find it weird that they claim they are the biggest but the one at UFlorida in Gainsville seemed so much bigger. I wonder if maybe because the Fl one was spread out more like a park and not necessary an enclosed atrium design? Not sure. However, with that said, I don't hate this place at all. Ha! This is not bad and much bigger than the one at Phx Zoo, if they still even have one at the zoo. That one is very small and more like just a tent display. Or it was the last time I went. If you have kids I bet they will love it. I mean seriously who does not love butterflies? It is so exciting when they land on you. Heck, even for this old lady I get giddy like a kid when one lands on me. Depending on you body scent that can be hilarious! If you have an orange or floral scented lotion on you will get inundated with friends landing right on your arms. Hahaaha Just be careful and let them be. If you like plants this is a good place to go to learn about them too. These places are getting pricey but try to go on an event night where it is cheaper. I went on a Teacher Appreciation Day event so I did not feel i was losing out much if I hated it, which I did not. However, full price might not seem worth it to you. 32.00 dollars is a lot. I see you can do bundles now for more than one admission to the varied entertainment experiences the Boardwalk has to offer. That might be a better option. The mall it is in is cool. It has a lot of fun things to do and kids will have options if they get bored. The vendors in that mall change though so make sure to call or check the internet first. In the past, I have gone to the Dino restaurant which is awesome but not sure that same theme is there anymore. Have fun but make sure you don't bring home any butterfly hitchhikers. lol they love my hair. It must be the Aqua Net hairspray. teehee!!!!! Don't worry the breezeway doors will blow them back in or the staff will make sure you don't adopt any new pets for your ride home.

Yelp
If you've ever been to a butterfly sanctuary, you pretty much know what to expect. We came in November and it was SO pleasant inside. Arrives around 11am. There were so many active butterflies, but that can be hit or miss. One landed in my brother's arm . If you have to be in a wheelchair like I did, bring someone strong enough to push you up the ramps- they aren't super steep, but I'm glad I didn't ask my mom (an active woman in her 60's) to take me because they were steep enough to where I would have been nervous about rolling backwards into her if she lost her grip. There's only so much room they have to work with, after all. They said it's the largest butterfly place in the country, but it seems about the same size as Denver's and (I think it was) Cincinnati's. Lovely tropical plants, a lot of benches to sit on, and everyone was in a good mood on a Friday morning- how could you not be, surrounded by flying flowers? I wouldn't wish to go on a Saturday, though. That's probably a given. You'll see a beehive and a case in which the butterflies are "hatching" out of their chrysalis. Inside the building, there are beetles, spiders, lizards, snakes, etc. in aquariums. Then there are some fish you can look at. A few of them will play with you- they like shiny, glittering things and will follow you back and forth, chasing them. I had a reflective birthday balloon (not allowed with the butterflies), and they were obsessed. They have a little cafe in there, which is nice. There is seating, but it appears they sell just drinks and snacks- maybe sandwiches but I didn't look that hard. Just looked like an airport convenience shop with a seating area. They have a vending machine with (cooked) insect snack options. A lot of fun to buy some mealworm granola and gross my brother out as I munched on it. You can't tell, they grind it up. In the beginning, as you go in, they show you a very interesting educational video on monarch migration in their mini theater. They take a picture of your group before you go in. It's like $30 for the cheapie frame and a print out, and they give you access to all the pics they took online, so you can download them if you like. Afterwards, you could walk around the plaza a bit. There's a merry-go-round, but it wasn't running when we were there, didn't ask why. There are giant bugs kids can pose next to, or probably climb onto. Overall, this is something every child should get to experience once in their lifetime. I do recommend it, but it's still a little pricey.

Yelp
Beautiful facility with tons of opportunities to see butterflies and learn. The pricing is very high for what it is & how much time you actually spend there but overall it's an experience you should have at least once. It is difficult to justify the price if you go with littles for sure. $120 for 2 adults & 2 toddlers. We were there 1 hour.
google avatar

Rachel B.

Yelp
Love, love, love Butterfly Wonderland!!! So many butterflies. The weather in Phoenix was beautiful so it wasn't crazy hot. Keep in mind that the butterfly experience will be humid. Luckily there's plenty of places to sit and be comfortable while you patiently wait for a butterfly to land on you. I don't particularly like the various method of nickel and dime with the various experiences, but choose one and enjoy it! A recommend the gift shop, look around and you will find reasonably priced items. I bought 50 stickers for $2.99 and mini animals for .90 each. Overall, highly recommend.
google avatar

Armando L.

Yelp
The butterfly exhibit is definitely fun for kids and surprisingly informative. The movie before entering is well done and tells the story of the monarch migration. The exhibit is unique and might seem uncomfortable at first but just enjoy the moment. Loved watching my daughter hope and hope one of the butterflies would land on her and to see her face light up when it finally happened was worth it. There butterflies were the best part as the rest of the exhibits were meh. Nothing we haven't seen and after coming from the aquarium, it was not impressive.

Yelp
A fun and family friendly place where you can spend a lot of time inside while acting like you're outside. It's a good place any time, but especially during the warmer months. You'll need to arrive early for a couple of reasons. First, it's a popular place. You'll have your locals and tourists, but you'll also share space with school and daycare groups on field trips. It can get quickly get busy. Second, your visit begins with a short fifteen minuteish video explaining the Monarch butterfly life and migration cycle. It's pretty cool, but it you have to wait in line while it's showing. We arrived shortly after the venue opened and were about 25-30 heads back. When we left, about two hours later, the line was out the door. After the movie, you'll exit through a small hatchery-themed room and enter the rain forest-themed pavilion. This is where the magic happens. The pavilion is home to about sixty different species of butterflies, some finches, a couple of chickens and a huge koi pond. It's really cool. I liked how informative stands were placed along the walking paths that explain how the butterflies, flowers, honeybees and other animals coexist in the ecosystem. There are also a few spots that provide photo opportunities. You'll walk into a small reptile exhibit when you exit the pavilion. It's home to some snakes, lizards and frogs who share the rain forest with the butterflies and other animals in the pavilion. A couple of notes: I thought my visit was educational, interactive and fun. I spent a couple of hours walking around and could have stayed longer. However, the pavilion can quickly get busy. People will crowd you. It will get loud. Please plan ahead and allow for extra time if you have kids.

Yelp
I was told by a few locals that this place wasn't worth it but the butterfly conservation work they do, and the educational videos they show prior to your entry are great! You learn about the monarch migration pattern and it's amazing. Then coming to the butterfly conservatory, the space is huge and beautiful. It has sooo many different butterfly species, and if you're wearing lighter colors or hats, they land on you. There is a cafe and they have different events. I'm not in town for long so I couldn't attend but it's a must see! Largest butterfly conservatory in the states!

Yelp
What a beautiful escape from AZ's hot landscape. Besides the massive conservatory, there were smaller reptiles, bugs and aquatic creatures on display. The $30 price tag was a bit steep and the exhibits were on the smaller side but I still enjoyed the unique experience. The parking lot was spacious and free. I recommend purchasing tickets prior because there was a line at ticketing and it moved slowly. Upon entry, we had our photos taken which could be purchased at the exit or online. Our first stop was an introductory 3D video about butterfly migratory patterns and journey. Afterwards, we were relocated to a room with tons of cocoons of different sizes and ages. We were lucky enough to see some butterflies emerge from their casing! We stayed in this room until the prior group finished their walk in the conservatory so then we could enter. The conservatory was lovely and had luscious vegetation. We weren't allowed to pursue butterflies, but were fortunate enough to have them land on us willingly. There were so many butterflies of different kinds and staff members were at the center of the conservatory doing demonstrations. They were knowledgeable and it was entertaining seeing live stick bugs on their hands when answering questions. After 15 minutes or so, we left the conservatory for the smaller animal exhibits. While I liked the amphibians and reptiles, they seemed forgotten as the glass was some of the crustiest I've seen. The aquatic exhibit was a tad cleaner but the stingray seemed a bit lonely. The gift shop was simple and affordable. The most memorable and "worth" aspect was the conservatory but it was a very brief experience. I would buy the combo ticket package to save a few dollars and fill up the day.

Yelp
A very comprehensive and peaceful butterfly world with so many additional areas to explore and learn about our planet. The butterfly area has plenty of paths and tucked away areas to just sit and be mesmerized by the butterflies zipping by! We saw several folks with their hands outstretched and butterflies landing on them! When you first enter Butterfly Wonderland, the monarch butterfly video is a must, don't skip that! We learned so much about just that one important and beautiful butterfly from that video I wish everyone could watch it! They've done a wonderful job weaving all the different tropical rainforest areas together under one experience from the butterflies to fish, bees, history and reptiles. The gift shop has plenty of small and large items to remember your experience or treat the kiddos to a souvenir.

Yelp
Felt so magical inside! So many butterflies and they will even land on you! I thought that maybe they would all be hidden but no! My son loved the Choi fish pond too. There's also some other exhibits that are small but still fun to see, can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Had a great time just relaxing. Took the heart rate way down. Just a meditative atmosphere to breathe deeply and refocus. How can you not believe in an all powerful God? Took the family and one of the grandkids for a few hours this morning. Lots of things to see besides the beautiful butterflies like a wonderful koi pond, tropical fish and reptiles. They have a little cafe-snack bar also along with the well stocked gift shop for all things butterfly. The staff is knowledgeable and seem to genuinely like their jobs. The whole place was clean and neat. Last words...good vibes.

Yelp
Butterfly Wonderland is a nice place to visit in the Arizona Boardwalk complex. You can purchase tickets for only this attraction or for multiple attractions in the area. After your tickets are scanned you walk into a small room with cocoons where you can learn about the butterfly life cycle. If you're lucky you may even see some butterfly's emerging from their cocoons. Once the room has enough people in it an employee will open the first door, everyone fills the small space and they close the door. When that door is closed the second door can be opened to the conservatory. Butterflies flutter around you everywhere here. Watch your step, they land everywhere. The space is laid out in a way where there is no real flow, so everyone is everywhere. There are benches throughout so you can sit and watch the butterflies. They also have chickens roaming around which I thought was kind of weird since they eat butterflies but we were told they eat the bad bugs. I'm pretty sure the chickens don't discriminate but what do I know. Overall, another nice place in the area to beat the heat indoors.

Yelp
This is expensive but it is a really unique experience. You go into this big room and they have about 3000 butterflies flying around. And these are really cool butterflies big giant purple ones and blue ones and all the colors of the rainbow. We'll probably go back next time we arein Scottsdale.

Yelp
Great! Highly recommended. The staff is friendly, informative and helpful. They have a well produced 3D short movie about butterflies that's very interesting. The habitat you enter is awesome with many different butterfly species flying around. They also have a cute aquarium. Good for all ages.

Yelp
I had such a lovely time at butterfly wonderland. Bought dual tickets for butterfly wonderland and the aquarium. The employees took pictures of us before we could begin the tour. They had a video about butterflies. To be honest, I fell asleep during the video, I just got off a flight, and I was tired. We got to see the larvae all lined out in display. And then went into the butterfly area to see them. It was so beautiful. I loved seeing all the different butterflies with their pretty wings. The price for the aquarium and the butterfly wonderland, I felt it was a little pricey.

Yelp
We have been coming to Butterfly Wonderland for years and somehow I feel like it gets better each time. The visit we had on Sunday, in particular, was a special one. It seemed like the amount of butterflies present had increased exponentially since our last visit. We have never had so many butterflies land on us and interact with us. It was magical! My kids were enthralled and we spent nearly 2 hours in just the butterfly room. Definitely wear bright colors! We loved the reptile and aquarium areas as well. I love that Butterfly Wonderland always feels very clean and cared for. All the employees we interacted with were very kind and knowledgeable. We love having this place nearby! We'll be back!

Yelp
I'm obsessed with butterflies and was in heaven here. I loved the informational video and flyer to give us background info on all of the butterflies. A butterfly landed in my hand and walked around with me for about 10 minutes. Really made my heart smile!

Yelp
My daughter and I were visiting Phoenix Arizona for several days. On Tuesday, we had stopped by the Odysea Aquarium and purchased the 3-combo pack which included the aquarium, Pangea, and the Butterfly Wonderland. The Butterfly Wonderland was our last stop out of the 3 combo packs. We had entered the Butterfly Wonderland around 3:30 P.M, with closing time at 5:00 P.M. There weren't many people inside the Butterfly Wonderland. As soon as we entered, there was a spot where you take your photograph and then enter the exhibit. If you walk straight from the entrance, you'll notice to your right is the video presentation auditorium. It's approximately a 10 minute video that shows you the butterfly migration of the Monarchs. It also goes over their complete lifecycle. It was interesting and I learned a lot about the Monarch butterflies. I didn't realize that the Monarch's have one of the longest long-distance migration paths. Afterwards my daughter and I entered the conservatory after viewing all of the chrysalises on display. Its filled with lots of plants, trees, and butterflies! We saw a few chickens too and a koi pond. You may even have a butterfly land on you in the conservatory! There are several benches situated throughout the conservatory where you can sit and enjoy all of the beautiful butterflies! There is also a food court inside the Butterfly Wonderland. We didn't get a chance to eat there, but the food looked good! Afterwards, we ventured to the reptile exhibit and their aquarium. Towards the exit, the Butterfly Wonderland has a giftshop! We looked through the store, noticing, a variety of plushies, apparel, jewelry, and much more! My daughter ended up picking up a small shark plushie. My daughter and I had a amazing time at the Butterfly Wonderland. We'd highly recommend visiting the Butterfly Wonderland if you're in the area!

Yelp
I have always wanted to go to a butterfly house. In fact, it has been on my bucket list for years. When I found out there was one in Scottsdale, I knew I was taking the family. Butterfly Wonderland is located amongst a complex of entertainment/educational activities including an aquarium and Ripley's. You can purchase tickets individually or you can buy packages that include various combinations of activities. We opted for a single ticket, specifically for the BW. The ticket price of $29 was pretty steep but I'm willing to pay a premium to be able to check something off of my bucket list. Upon entering Butterfly Wonderland, you are taken into a quiet, calming oasis. The lighting was low and sounds were muted. You are automatically put into a state of calm. You're ushered through a hallway where butterfly art and facts about butterflies are displayed on the walls. As you wait for the introductory film, you have time to admire and learn. The 15 minute film documents the migration of a monarch butterfly. The film is in 3D and you can almost feel the flutter of the wings. It is not only entertaining but also educational. After the movie, you are directed into a room that I'll call the butterfly nursery. Butterflies in all stages of development are on display. It's amazing to witness the first flap of this beautiful creature's wings. From here you are ushered into the butterfly house itself. WOW! A large enclosure full of beautiful plants and flowers and hundreds upon hundreds of butterflies flitting through the air, eating the nectar from the flowers and even landing on the visitors. Each unique, each just beautiful with their coloring and size. You are able to spend as much time as you want just roaming the room. There are a few benches where you can rest and just enjoy these flitting creatures. We all enjoyed and were amazed by this display of nature. Even the babies were mesmerized by the butterflies. They thought the butterfly that landed on Grandpap's beard was the funniest thing ever! After leaving the butterfly house you are directed to displays of reptiles and amphibians. It was fun trying to find each creature in it's enclosure - their camouflage was amazing. From there you are ushered through the gift shop (of course) to the exit of the building. We spent about two hours basking in this wonder of nature. We learned. We were entertained. We were mesmerized. I definitely recommend visiting Butterfly Wonderland. It was amazing.

Yelp
The butterflies are so beautiful and serene, the only reason I gave this four stars is I think it's priced a bit too high for what it actually is. It's a bit anticlimactic when you get to the one big area in the back. The temperature and air quality there isn't ideal and the exhibit is mostly done by the time you get out there but it's still wonderful to check out at least once.

Yelp
This place was so fun, they had lots of beautiful butterflies. It doesn't take a lot of time to walk through it but you can stay as long as you like. They have benches throughout to sit and relax and enjoying the butterflies. And so many beautiful flowers.

Yelp
So I have always been afraid of bugs. I didn't know how I was going to react when I went into a room full of flying butterflies. But I had my two year old daughter to think about so off we went! I must say, the prices for entry were a bit shocking to both butterfly wonderland and the aquarium but hoping it was worth it! Walking into the exhibit, we were greeted by the photographer. Kind of like the one that catches you mid roller coaster ride and you pick out your pictures at the end. We got caught in the net and had our pictures taken. The next room actually was very informative. It had stages of butterflies from pupa to adult. There were butterflies emerging out of their pupae and coming out to dry their wings. It was rather beautiful to watch. Finally, we decided to enter the room of butterflies! (One note, it's best to go in the morning as they are the most active then! ) I was pleasantly surprised at how well laid out everything was! I was almost expecting to see a murder scene, wings, and bodies of poor butterflies strewn all over the floor from wild batting adults running for their lives... but it was a nice peaceful conservatory where the butterflies clung to the greenery or floated through the air. I think we spent most of our time trying to get one to land on us which eventually happened to my husband. They say they land on people who are calm of mind and heart. Overall, we had a great time! It was nice to see and interact with such beautiful versions of all butterflies.

Yelp
This place is simply beautiful!! I visited a few years ago and sadly I found myself having to participate in the beauty of a memorial butterfly. The staff was so understanding, huggy and gentle. My little sister flies in this auditorium happy & free! Recently her baby girl was getting married and we needed something borrowed and blue! Autumn helped me with sending Gracie on a "field trip" to attend the wedding, so that she could be present at her daughters wedding. It was all so beautiful, heartwarming and loving. I'm so thankful I was able to borrow the butterfly for a short spell. Thank you to all the team members who were compassionate with this tender process. I"m so happy that my little sister has a place where I can go an honor her. Thank you thank you!!!!

Yelp
It was beautiful and interesting. I went with just my two gal pals and we were pleasantly surprised by the care and beauty of the caterpillars as they await to become butterflies

Yelp
First outing with social therapy group! We had so much fun seeing all sorts of different butterflies that we never saw before!
