This $67 Ski Pass for Kids Is Back—and It's Bigger Than Ever

"I see Buttermilk listed among the 19 Colorado mountains included in Colorado Ski Country USA's expanded Ski Passport for kindergarten through sixth grade; the passport provides four ski days at each participating resort, includes two junior rental packages, and costs $67 for K–2 or $72 for grades 3–6, making these mountains well-suited for younger skiers while also being great spots for adults and ideal for a family ski getaway." - Stacey Leasca Stacey Leasca Stacey Leasca is an award-winning journalist and co-founder of Be a Travel Writer, an online course for the next generation of travel journalists. The 10 Best Ski Resorts in the World | Vogue

"I love the easy access to four fantastic mountains—Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, and Snowmass—plus live music options and many excellent restaurants. I dip into intimate on-mountain dining at Lynn Britt Cabin on the slopes of Snowmass, where foodies can eat and drink in a private cabin in the mountains, or Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro high up on Aspen Highlands, which boasts an iconic Alpine atmosphere and a champagne-spraying après-ski scene. After a day on the slopes, I head into Aspen for world-class shopping, restaurants, hotels, and museums, grabbing a drink at the Little Nell, browsing the Bottega Veneta store, and having dinner at White House Tavern." - Corey Seymour, Elise Taylor, Gia Yetikyel

Buttermilk is an absolute paradise for snowboarders! It’s home to the Winter X Games, the terrain park setup is incredible. One time they had a double half pipe. There are jumps, rails, boxes, and features for every skill level, from beginners just learning to advanced riders who want to hit the big lines. It’s one of the best parks I’ve ever ridden. During the X Games, the whole mountain comes alive with awesome live concerts, energy, and great vibes everywhere. Even when the event isn’t going on, Buttermilk has a fun, laid-back atmosphere that makes it perfect for riders who love freestyle terrain without the intense crowds of the bigger Aspen resorts. The runs are smooth, well-maintained, and the views are classic Colorado beauty mountains for miles. Whether you’re here to shred the park, cruise mellow groomers, or just hang out in the X Games vibe, Buttermilk is a must for any snowboarder. 🏂.

Amazing place for concerts! The Up in the Sky nights were unforgettable — mountains, music, and atmosphere all coming together for pure magic. 🎶✨ I hope they keep doing more events like this. Only tweak? The shuttle wait after — smooth that out and the whole experience is flawless.

I recently visited Buttermilk mountain in Colorado, and it was an unforgettable experience! The ski slopes are perfect for beginners and families, with great snow quality that makes for smooth skiing. The facilities are top-notch, and renting equipment was super easy. The staff is friendly and professional, especially the ski instructor Marco Spitzer who is so patient and helped me quickly master our skiing skills. The entire resort has beautiful scenery that makes you want to stay forever. I highly recommend Buttermilk Ski Resort to all ski enthusiasts, whether you're a beginner or an experienced skier—this place offers an unparalleled skiing experience!

We took lessons the first day because we both had zero experience.. they were great, my instructor Neil, a white south African accent having guy was funny and patient with me, after many slams and what felt like broken wrists and tailbone I had the confidence to try the mountain and by the 4th day we were doing the blue routes. The gear rental was pretty easy aside from the line of field trippers. It was an amazing experience and a great place to learn, can't wait to go back.

We have skied and hiked Ajax, Snowmass, and the Highlands a number of times. Other than eating at the BBQ place at the base of Buttermilk, we have never skied this mountain before until today. As expert level skiers, we were pleasantly surprised by how much we liked this mountain. No, it is not challenging, but there is tons of sidecountry tree skiing, and the powder stays in there for days after a storm. Buttermilk to us felt like a mini version of Beaver Creek or Deer Valley. This is a great place to learn how to ski.
