Butterworth Farm has a beautiful relaxing atmosphere with very warm and welcoming hosts in Chantal and John. They are interested in all their guests and are full of helpful information, as well as knowing such a lot about the history of the area. Nothing is a trouble to them and they will go out of their way to make your stay a very memorable one. The Gite is well appointed and each room has a different and well thought out decor with lovely little "touches". The rooms are very spacious and have their own ensuites. There is a beautiful shaded deck surrounded by lots of flowers and shrubs and is a great place to relax at the end of the day. The breakfasts are lovely with the most beautiful baguettes bought freshly each day from the local boulangerie. Guests can use the well-appointed kitchen if they wish to cook their own meals at night. Both John and Chantal are bi-lingual which is a great bonus as well.||Butterworth Farm is a place one would want to return to again and again to enjoy the peace of the surrounds and the wonderful hospitality of beautiful hosts.

Visited in August with a friend and we were both so impressed with everything. John and Chantal were the nicest hosts and couldn't have made us feel more welcome. Beautiful accommodation and the rooms were perfect. Breakfast was great and again the hospitality and service first class. A five minute drive into Albert but also walking distance to lots of sites around Poziers. Will be returning next year!

I stayed here for one night at the end of a two week driving holiday through Europe. Of the ten accommodations I stayed in during the trip, Butterworth Farm was head and shoulders above the rest. Clean, comfortable, large rooms with excellent beds. The host, John was welcoming and well informed on the local area. The breakfast was most satisfactory and he even catered for my need for English tea serving Yorkshire brand. The location is peaceful and rural with lovely countryside views. I would highly recommend this place based on quality and value for money.

Chanta and John made us feel like family from the moment we arrived for our night at Butterworth Farm. The grounds and the rooms are just beautiful and so well located to all the key sites for the Somme.||||We recieved great information for what to see and where to go and the absolute best dinner recommendation in Albert! Lucas is still raving about the meal and rates it in his top ten after four weeks in Europe. Breakfast was very nice - and again more of a family feel rather that just a place to stay.||||Thank you so much for having us - our only regret is that it was only one night. You simply are wonderful hosts with the most beautiful home.

We booked for 3 nights and ended up staying an extra night so as to attend a local event. Butterworth Farm is very well appointed and a superb place to stay whilst visiting the sites of the Somme. Nothing is too much trouble for Chantal and John and they were great company. Breakfast is extensive and the well equipped kitchen is available for self catering at other times. Rooms are spacious and the bed very comfortable. Ensuites are roomy. Plenty of parking in the carpark adjoining the building. This was our 3rd visit and we will return again. Highly recommended!

My friend and I stayed for 4 nights (2 rooms). The hosts, John and Chantelle, are superb. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were big, clean and had en suite facilities. The breakfast is basic but has everything you need: tea, coffee, juice, bread, croissants, fruit, cheese and ham. Guests have use of the fridge and cooking facilities if needed. There is a large lounge for guests. The location is perfect for walking the Somme. We did 3 long walks all starting and finishing at the farm. Le Tommy Bar and other WW1 sites are within very easy walking distance. The WIFI was not great but I really look forward to returning. Highly recommended.

As stated by others, John and Chantal are fantastic. Our room, Africa Room, was impeccably clean as was the rest of the downstairs area. Breakfast was filling and offered a nice variety to choose from. John and Chantal made us feel like we were friends staying in their home not customers. HIGHLY recommend.

John and Chantal are fantastic hosts who couldn't do enough for us. Place is very clean and the fact that you are able to use the kitchen to cook was a great advantage. Wash machine and dryer there four your use. When you come bring a bottle of red or two to share with John. Fluent in French, English and Australian as they lived in oz 40 years. Pub just up the road serves great big meals.
