Buttonwood Belize

Best accommodations ever! Bed so comfortable and we spent most of our time on the balcony looking at the ocean. A great beach shack next door with amazing food. We loved listening to the drumming in the evenings. Very clean room and housekeeping staff were amazing!

My partner & I spent two nights in the Aquarius Room of Buttonwood at the end of our trip to Belize and both of us wished we could stay longer! Super-clean, super-comfortable room with high-end furnishings & amenities, and access to the restaurant, pool & additional beach amenities at Coconut Row were an incredible value for the nightly rate for the room!||We also pre-booked an arrival car service from Dangriga and a shuttle return to the airport at the end of our stay directly through the property. Though the former ended up being rather expensive compared to what we could've arranged for ourselves, the airport shuttle was priced the same as others I saw online and the convenience & reliability of pre-booking both were ultimately worth it.||The proprietor and all the employees we met--special shout-out to Chantal & Deyri at the Front Desk! <3 <3--were so friendly & helpful!||Prices at the bar & restaurant are Belize dollars, so I definitely recommend paying for your breakfast a la carte *if* you're staying at Buttonwood. (The breakfast-inclusive rate appears almost double versus staying in a Coconut Row accommodation for some reason, though the restaurant *is* definitely worth patronizing for breakfast as it was fresh & delicious with generous portions.)||Property location was convenient to everywhere we needed to go, though we would've loved to borrow the complimentary bikes to further explore the town, had we had time. And the beachfront access at both locations is first-rate!!||Not having prior plans to, we would definitely consider returning to Belize just to spend more time at Coconut Row. Book today with confidence if you're considering this property--you're sure to enjoy your stay as much as we did!

This Hotel has not disappointed us. We have enjoyed it several times already when we have come to Belize. More affordable then Damian's other property (Coconut Row) were you actually check in and go for food at Coconut Husk. We sometimes change things up or when we have friends with us, some of us might stay at Coconut Row if there is room. Even if we are at buttonwood they let us use the paddleboards/kayaks that they have at Coconut Row. Beach is usually nicely raked, workers are all very friendly and helpfull! They were definitely attentive to our needs and wishes. You can download the Vamoose app and see what they all have to offer in the area and even message them through that app. We definitly plan to be back as soon as we can!

We loved Buttonwood Belize which is a sister property to the Coconut Row Boutique Hotel. The place was immaculate, was located right on the beach and the staff were so friendly and accommodating!! We highly recommend and will definitely stay here again!!!

This is our (self, wife, and now 6yr old son) goto place in Hopkins. This past Christmas '24 was our fourth time staying here. Buttonwood is in a more private setting than the sister property, Coconut row. Both properties are a big step up from your average Belizean accommodations. The service is excellent, the owner Damion and the entire staff are friendly and ready to help with anything. The pool at Coconut row is a perfect place to cool down in the middle of the day. The restaurant served great quality food and good portions. We rent a car and do a lot of our own exploring, but all the other guests we've talked to enjoy the excursions this company offers. As for the room itself: We've stayed in three different rooms, two had kitchens. this last trip we stayed in the second floor apartment without kitchen because it's easy and cheap enough to eat out. Very clean. Sheets clean and crispy. Towels clean and fluffy. A/c works as it should. All rooms have a coffee maker and you are supplied with very good coffee, refilled everyday when cleaned. Very modern building. All light switches work as should. No sharp edged tiles on the shower floor. You'll know what I'm talking about if this is not your first trip to Belize. We'll be back again and again. We recommend this place to any friends that are traveling this way.

I can’t say enough good things about this location. The customer service was unmatched! I was on a corner suite and traveling solo, and it was one of the kindest gestures to experience when the manager came by specifically just to make sure I was enjoying my stay and not feeling isolated.|Beyond that, every.single.person. remembered my name (restaurant staff, managers, reception, etc). It was such an extra touch that really was appreciated, especially traveling solo.|I stayed in the Blueground room and it was PERFECT. I know some reviews talk about the drums/noise but personally, the Garifuna drumming outside my patio is one of my favorite parts of my stay. I kept my screen door open most of the time just to hear them play. On top of that, i LOVED the rooftop area. The stars at night were beautiful and the sunsets/beach view was one of my favorite things about the property. They also had free bike rentals but it is in such a central location, I enjoyed walking everywhere!||The room was top notch, the food was great, the pool and beach access was incredible and I will only stay here when I return to Hopkins!||Thank you to all the staff!

This is a really lovely place and the staff make the experience even more enjoyable. We stayed at a first floor ( 2nd floor to Americans) room. Very spacious with a lovely view across the clean beach and coconut trees over the sea. I was concerned about late night noise at Hopkins as there are quite a few beach shacks which play music till late in the night but there was no such problem near Buttonwood. |Air con was strong and quiet. Bathroom big with good water pressure. Bed large with comfortable pillows. There was a microwave, small fridge, set of crockery including wine glasses and a filter coffee machine.|Very clean and not many bugs. |You check in at Coconut Row and they'd bring you and bags to Buttonwood. Just a couple of minutes drive. No lift but the staff would help to bring the bags up. |We used to walk to their sister property Coconut row and enjoy our meal there. The swimming pool is also there. |The area felt very safe and we walked along the beach, all the way to the resorts and also to the Garimaya shop. Lots of iguanas and beautiful pelicans, sandpipers and frigate birds around. We also had fresh coconut water as well. |Our trip to Glover's got cancelled because of bad weather and the management quickly found an alternative private snorkelling experience for us. |Highly recommended.

My husband and I stayed at Buttonwood for 4 nights earlier this month and it was a wonderful stay. This is part of the Coconut Row hotel, but a separate building a couple hundred yards down the beach. We had the 3rd floor room, which has a wonderful balcony with great views and easy access to the roof-top deck, which has even better views, including sunset views to the west. There is also a very nice beach in front of the building. The sargassum is an issue this time of year, but we were still able to enjoy the beach even if we didn't get into the water from the beach. Coconut Row does have a nice pool, so we spent a lot of time there. Adjacent to the pool is a bar and restaurant - good drinks, good food, and the staff is great. ||Our room itself was great - very comfortable and well-appointed with everything that we needed. We had a kitchenette so we could keep our beverages cool and heat up leftovers as needed.
