The greatest vineyard my family and I have visited hands down! Cate made the entire experience super special with her knowledge of wine and its history. The best wine we have tried in the area

We had a great time at Buttonwood. The location is very accessible if you are close to Solvang. There is a nice, laid back atmosphere where the tasting is and you can see part of the vineyard. Cate was extremely friendly and helped guide us through our tasting. She went above and beyond and let us try one of our favorite varietals- cabernet franc. The wine was fantastic and we ended up buying a bottle. I would recommend coming here.

Wonderful time at buttonwood farm and vineyard!! Beautiful views, great wines, and Kate went above and beyond for us which truly made our experience there stand out from the other wineries. A must see when in the neighborhood!

Kate was amazing. The entire staff was so friendly and was so loving to our puppies. The wine was amazing too and so yummy. The charcuterie was perfect and paired well with the wine. We will forsure be back!

Such a great place! The wine is fantastic, the view is stunning, and the ambiance with two toddlers was wonderful. The Grenache Blanc is the best white wine I’ve ever had. 10/10 will be back!

Beautiful vineyard close to Solvang. Went for a wine tasting in the afternoon and had a wonderful time. Staff was friendly and accommodating, and all the wines were delicious. They had live music as well. Indoor and outdoor seating available, and one restroom available. Parking was free. They do wines by the bottle and by the glass, and offered charcuterie boards.

We had a wonderful experience here! The scenery is beautiful, so peaceful and relaxing! We also brought our three pups 🐾🐾🐾 who were treated so nicely. Our host Kate was super knowledgable and kind. She took her time to explain everything about the farm the wines and the surrounding community. We could of stayed there all day! When we come back in town, it is a must do! 🍷

Cate is the absolute best. We stopped here after finding it searching on Google. We were not disappointed at all. Cate had so much knowledge and experience with wine and especially the process Buttonwood wines go through. She had amazing recommendations in the area and me and my wife WILL be returning on our vacations in the future.

One of my favorite wineries in Los Olivos. A must visit every time. The grounds are beautiful, customer service is amazing and their rose is my favorite. Get yourself a charcuterie board and a bottle of rose and thank me later. On Weekends there is live music which is so pleasant. Maybe in the summer nights only not sure.... Check with them. Overall a great stop. You won't be disappointed

After my son's wedding in Santa Barbara, we visited Solvang the following day We spent small part of the morning in Solvang, then proceeded to Buttonwood for a little bit of wine tasting When we arrived, we were pleasantly welcomed, and we ordered the tasting The service was absolutely amazing The wine choices from the whites to the reds were absolutely pleasing. The location was absolutely beautiful. It was a beautiful sunny day. We were invited to walk through the property where they were blossoms on the branches and it was just a beautiful site. We discovered a great bag of truffle chips. They were quite addicting. Can't wait to go back.

Buttonwood Farm Winery was such a wonderful experience! The setting is gorgeous and peaceful, and you can really feel the farm-to-table spirit of the place. The wines are all on the dry side--no sweet wines here--which was perfect for me. Each pour felt carefully crafted and showcased the quality of their vineyard. But honestly, the star of our visit was the cheese plate. It was hands down the best thing we had in all of Solvang. Fresh, flavorful, and elevated by peaches picked right from the farm--it made the whole tasting feel extra special. A must-stop if you're looking for authentic, high-quality wines and a true farm experience

This winery was so cute and off the beaten path. We came here with a group and even though we were unable to do the wine tasting they let us walk around their beautiful farm area. Plenty of seating and good wines to try, the kids enjoyed being able to walk around. They have an adorable gift shop and will allow you to taste any of their wines before you buy a glass to sip and enjoy.

I used to come to Buttonwood years ago when they were just the small tasting room. We recently went and not only have they have they expanded but it's even more beautiful than before. There's a huge patio with both covered seating and picnic tables under umbrellas. It sits on an orchard and in the distance, I saw games and a great event area. Nikki helped us and was so sweet and knowledgeable about all of their wines, which were tasty and decently priced. They have a cute little gift shop with fun items. I can't wait to come back closer to Christmas to buy gifts. They also had delicious cookies available for purchase. We had a great time and won't wait so long to come back!

Very cool experience! I came when a group of 6 + 2 dogs and they were so welcoming & accommodating. It was about $25 per person for a tasting of 6 different wines. I would highly recommend to get your wine experience in Solvang!

My friend and I did a tasting here and we really enjoyed it. Our server (we did not get her name but upon looking at other reviews I believe it was Katie) was so sweet and knowledgeable! I love how small and intimate the space feels. The reason I am not giving 5 stars is because they don't offer a charcuterie board or any other pairings on weekdays.

We did some wine tasting as part of a bachelorette trip. The winery was very cute, unfortunately we had a bit of a wind storm so we couldn't enjoy the outside as much as we hoped. They were very kind and provided blankets and a heat lamp to make our seats outside more comfortable. We enjoyed the red wine flights but didn't find any wines that we fell in love with. However, the homemade cookies were incredible and a nice treat. I would recommend this winery to others but I will probably visit some others in the area on my next trip out before returning at a future date.

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and we absolutely loved it! We bought two bottles to take home :)

I loved the winery. Came here with my family and they make it so easy to bring kids. It's a beautiful place and parking on site. I will definitely be visiting again.

An absolute gem! Buttonwood is a small-scale winery that is good for the soul. My wife and I were greeted warmly and served promptly. All of the wines were tasty, and the abundance of scenery makes this a must-stop. We ordered a delicious cheese plate and a smash burger that delivered on all levels.

We had an amazing visit to buttonwood. The wine was so tasty, and the service was great. We went today in the freezing cold and rain but forgot how cold it was because of the incredible views. They are super dog friendly and made it easy to bring our girl. Highly recommended

We love this place. Beautiful grounds, fun staff that love wine and like to share knowledge. Great food. Try the smash burgers when they have it. Wine is amazing. Something for everyone. Red and white wine. Had live music on the day we visited. Very welcoming to pets and families with children.

a super beautiful vineyard with a stunning garden patio for tastings! I went here for a girls trip and this place was picturesque. Kate, our host for the tasting, was so kind and knowledgeable about the wines and had us try ones that fit our palette interests! and honestly all the wines were absolutely lovely- we all ending up purchasing different bottles to take home.

Always such a pleasure to visit here. Summertime concerts & just in for a weekend of tastings. This time we were waited on by a young lady named Nikki. She sure knew her stuff, although she doesn't look old enough to drink. Nikki was very professional & well versed in the wines. So glad that I've been a member for so many years. The ladies that joined me this weekend said it was some of the best wines we tried. And the gardens always look so great. Thank you for always being of such high quality & service!

Our experience at Buttonwood was one of a kind. We truly felt embraced by an incredibly hospitable, kind, and knowledgable Cate. She modified our tasting to better align with what kinds of wines we know we like and were able to branch out and try some new stuff! The Wine: The wine itself is incredible. We are both service industry workers with a slight knowledge of wine. Cate helped fill in the gaps of our knowledge without overloading us with too much info. She explained tannic vs acidity by showing us wines that differ rather than just telling us the difference, which was a specific part of her service we appreciated! You can really tell the nuances between each bottle we tried; purple reds vs red reds, light body vs full bodied, etc. The Atmosphere: PLUMB adorable. I got some cute videos to make a Tik Tok or post on Instagram or something just because it was so darling. We didn't explore the whole back garden, but I just fell in love with it. Lush trees that provide shade, comfortable seating, pumpkins EVERYWHERE!! It was gorgeous and made the tasting all the more relaxing and memorable. We will ABSOLUTELY be back. This was our anniversary trip and I am SO HAPPY I found this winery to go to. We love learning about spirits, beer, and wine and the way that Cate was so incredibly knowledgable made it so fun. Thank you Cate & Buttonwood for a fantastic, enjoyable experience to top off our trip!

Loved my experience at buttonwood and truly one of the best Pinot Noirs in the valley that I've tried. Also a really good Rosé. I enjoyed the garden wine tasting experience with friendly service. It is so peaceful there with lots of trees for speckled light. I'd say bring a sweater just incase you happen to be in the shade during your time. We also enjoyed the Chamburgers which are to die for. So so so good. Very rarely so I want to go back to a winery in SYV (I'm the curious type who wants to try them all!) but I will definitely be coming back here next time.

Loved this tasting room and farm atmosphere! Kate was an amazing host and although she warned it was just her to service all the parties there, nothing was amiss. She was very knowledgeable on the wines and with wines in general, we learned so much. Will definitely return for more tastings and wine purchases in the future. Ask for Kate, she is the best!

Paid $75 a ticket for a music event and was with a group of 5 people. The place is beautiful and the band was great. However the older woman inside serving was so shockingly rude to us and everyone else she encountered that it ruined our visit. I see there are several other reviews referencing this woman so ishe was clearly not just having a bad day. This woman should not be working in customer service especially at a winery. What a shame to encounter this on an otherwise lovely afternoon. . The rest of the staff was lovely.

I had an outstanding experience at Buttonwood Farm Winery and Vineyard! First, it was so easy to get to and so close to downtown Solvang (maybe a two-minute drive?). The grounds are quite picturesque and there was plenty of parking close to the tasting room. Second, and this is the most important part of all, each of the five wines that were served as part of their wine tasting service, were EXCEPTIONAL! Seriously! I must admit that I am very picky when it comes to wine and I was a little apprehensive after having just gone to a wine tasting at another Santa Ynez Valley winery not too far from Buttonwood that was truly awful (all 5 samples were honestly some of the worst wines I've had in my life). As soon as I had my first taste of the 2022 Buttonwood Grenache Blanc (wine #1 of 5 of their "Classic Tasting" flight), I knew I was in for a treat! The host's description of each wine was spot on and I found myself savoring each drop. I was so impressed with all of the wines I tasted that I joined the Buttonwood Wine Club and also purchased a few bottles to take with me to enjoy prior to my first shipment. I highly recommend the Grenache Blanc and my other favorite is the 2020 Trevin (so delicious and so unique. Tastes unlike any other red I've ever had). Overall, 5 stars for Buttonwood! Make sure to add it to your list of wineries to visit when you go to Solvang.

Super cute winery just a short drive from downtown Solvang. We were greeted by the chickens roaming in the front when we arrived. Ample seating outside where we tasted, seating was picnic tables and benches with tables. They brought the glass and then came out with each wine as we were ready. We were in a slight hurry to get back to town before the shops closed so they helped us speed through the tasting. Chad our tasting room associate was awesome! Super knowledgable about the wines and a fun sense of humor. The wines weren't my favorite, but I ended up getting a bottle of sauv blanc to try to grow my collection of white wines.

I walk in the winery and state I want a glass of Pinot Noir the lady at the counter stated to me you have to buy a whole bottle. I told her that last time I was here they poured me a glass. The lady said I don' t have one open. I told her I am willing to buy 2 glasses. The woman stated no you have to buy a whole bottle. Being that the winery is open daily and its early Memorial Day Monday if you do the math they would need to sell only 3 glasses to finish the bottle, If they weren't willing to sell me the glass either the wine is awful or they lack the confidence in selling the remaining part of the bottle, When I went home that night I look at my cellar and saw that I had a bottle of their Pinot Noir. I immediately open it and it was awful very strong like a bad Merlot. If in the area there are some many better wineries than this one. Hitching Post, Buscador, Tierra Y Vino, Fess Parker, Sunstone, Zacca, Kalyra, and Firestone are all first-class wineries compared to this one.

Just a quick THANK YOU to the staff working today at closing -Oct 12th 2024. ROCK FOR HORSES benefit volunteer here- the staff was so helpful, was so pleasant, I appreciated their willingness to help us as they tried to close after their busy day!

Had a great time. The wines are good, soft wines. We particularly enjoyed their Sauvvy B. Don't expect intense or delineated wines. These are good friendly wines served in a great environment. Sister winery to Roblar and Refugio Ranch by the way

I reached out to Buttonwood to plan proposing to my girlfriend at the winery. We did a wine tasting served by Kevin and he was able to coordinate with the estate manager Neil to take us on a UTV ride to the pond on the property. It was a gorgeous day and beautiful location. Most importantly...She said YES!! Neil was able to slip away to take the ranch dog back to the barn but actually walk over to a perfect spot and capture our beautiful moment. Thank you to everyone at Buttonwood! We can't wait to return!

We had a girls trip to Santa Ynez and visiting Buttonwood was high on the list and it did not disappoint! Loved all of the fall decorations they had, and Cate's knowledge of the wine enhanced the experience. And to top it off, they still had an old favorite wine of ours, the Trevin which all of us purchased.

Lovely winery and tasty wine. Beautiful outdoor space to sit and enjoy your wine. Kate helped us for our wine tasting. She is a gem of a human being. She was so kind to us and explained each wine we were tasting. Kate made our experience at Buttonwood even better. We will be back!

Great atmosphere, outdoor seating is very nice and lots of it. Love their red wines, they are delicious. I would include this in your list if you are going wine tasting.

**Reserve a spot online before or you might be turned away. This was a great spot to grab some wine in a cooler area that was covered by trees. You walk up and tell the employee your reservation, and then you walk around the back and grab a table wherever you want. Once you grab a table, someone comes over to serve wine and water. Ask for the Hop On wine (which is hops infused wine), so good! Directly across the street is fresh fruit - mango, cherries, raspberries, strawberries and next to the winery is peaches you can buy. You can also see the peach trees around you while sitting at your table. The 'cheese board' which is just some small cheese in a plastic to go container was $26 which was insane for what you were given. I wouldn't recommend based on how small it was- didn't get a picture though. They do some events as well, check the website for what they offer! There is absolutely NO service out here and the provided wifi is spotty. If you're doing a few spots and need an Uber/Lyft maybe schedule it ahead because it was rough ordering one.

Buttonwood is probably my favorite winery in the Santa Ynez valley. Everyone working there is really friendly and makes your experience memorable every time. My favorite wine is their Syrah Rose which is perfect for summertime by a pool. The tasting area is wonderful with fun outdoor seating. They are also super dog friendly. The winery isn't pushy about memberships which I appreciate and I ended up joining because of how easy it is to customize shipments. Plus you can buy bottles of Roblar (their sister winery) while at Buttonwood. Be sure to pick up fresh fruits & vegetables too. Can't wait to come back!

Cate was awesome! She explained and answered questions during the wine tastings. There was music playing at the perfect volume, I was still able to have a conversation and enjoy the views. Cute set up overall and will definitely be returning.

Buttonwood has set the standard for how every winery should be. Buttonwood offers an elegant and rustic outdoor wine tasting experience. The staff at Buttonwood was over the top fantastic! Miss Kate, whom we had the pleasure of getting to know during our visit is one of most passionate, caring and thoughtful individuals and makes the wine tasting experience even more remarkable. Excellent place for a family trip (little ones, and pups included) and their wine is very obviously made with the deep devotion to making excellent wine and they do not get lost in being flashy or overpriced.

What a beautiful day watching my sister get proposed to here! With last minute planning, Nikki was so accommodating and made this day extra special for us and recommended great locations on site for photos. Nikki went above and beyond and we will never forget her kindness and hospitality. We found a great spot for photos by the sunflower fields and by the vineyards. Thank you for everything!

A soul-soothing gem nestled in between Solvang and Los Olivos. A charming rustic feel, unpretentious, the property is magical, our hostess Kate was genuine and lovely. The wines were beautiful too... This place is special. Can't wait to go back.

Our group of 4 for wine tasting were greeted yesterday by a dour woman who said "I'm the only one here." She poured our wines providing brief descriptions and walked away between each one, never engaging, never smiling. For those who enjoy wine tasting, a bit of enthusiasm from the staff can be the difference between rave reviews and leaving with a "bad taste" in the mouth, no matter how good the wines may be.

Kate was our server and was very friendly and knowledgeable. She worked us in for a tasting even though she was by herself and quite busy. We chose to sit outside as it was a beautiful day - it is lovely with mature trees and a delightful old pickup with barrels in it. We all tasted the red wines and she finished with an extra tasting of the two ports. We ended up getting a case of wine... my favorite was the Cabernet Franc. Cheers!

The best wine and service around! Kate was so knowledgeable and hospitable. I cannot wait to come back! Dog friendly as well!!!! They treated our boy like one of their own. I absolutely recommend! We love you Kate!!!!

The winery wasn't open yet when we arrived, but they let us walk around while they finished setting up. The wine was good, I enjoyed their red wines the most. We already had reservations for a restaurant in town, so we didn't have lunch there but from what I saw people around us were enjoying their lunch. They have a small store where you can purchase non alcoholic drinks and snacks, which was nice. We will definitely be back to try their food.

Nice little winery outside of the tourist area. They have some different grape varieties and they were nice enough to let me taste some that weren't on the tasting menu. They have plenty of outdoor seating. The wine was okay but the service was great and we had a good time spending and hour here.

This was the best winery we went to all day! My group had the best time! The beauty of the winery was stunning and then the food and wine came, and was even better! We did the sample flight of wines and they were amazing! I left with two bottles I loved them so much! Then the food really caught me off guard with just how good it was! The smash burgers were to die for and the tri tip sandwhich was just what I needed! I loved the chips it all came with and charcuterie for the table. I could go on and on, this winery was just that good. The staff was amazing and I have no complaints about any of them! The food came out quickly and each person working has the nicest personality! Absolutely will be back!!

All the wines are exquisite, but Kate really is the star of the winery. Go for the wine, of course, but enjoy the company and expertise of Kate. She will make it memorable.

This was the first stop on a 3 winery wine tasting tour. We were picked up at our Solvang hotel by the tour company at the designated time. We happened to arrive at Buttonwood 30 min before we were expected, and felt a little scolded at first by the employee who greeted us with "you guys are a half hour early, I'm not ready for you and I have stuff to do". It's not the warm welcome we expected, and it was not our fault that we got there early. Once she was ready for us, she warmed up a bit and told us about the winery's history, the grounds and the wine. We ended up buying a case of wine to be shipped to our house. Pretty winery, but don't get there early!

Everything aspect of this winery was serene and beautiful. Our group had such an amazing experience here. We loved the classic tasting and our server, Kate. She was absolutely delightful and welcoming. Kate really made our experience memorable. We can't wait to come back and visit again!

We encountered Buttonwood during our Grapeline Wine Tour & absolutely loved it (our favorite spot out of the three vineyards we visited)! Cate was our wine connoisseur/server & was very knowledgeable regarding the wines she was serving and just wine history overall! The grounds of this winery are so quaint & lovey, unfortunately because of the rain we spent our time under the outdoor covering but during the sunny days I can only imagine!

Wow! This winery has a super relaxed feel to it. Maybe it was the nice breeze floating through the open doors of the main building when we entered. Walking through to the back we were treated to a large shady lawn area where we enjoyed our wine tasting and tasty treats. This place is great to relax, chill and visit with a date, friends or family. This is a working farm and vineyard that brought back many memories of growing up on a farm. A shout out to the staff that was so knowledgeable, attentive and hospitable. Especially Jared who made sure we enjoyed our visit. My favorite wine was a red blend named Trevin. We'll be back for sure!

From the call to make a reservation to walking out the door my companion and I were made to feel so welcome at Buttonwood. It was our first time there and it will definitely be a regular stop for us in the future. Such a lovely place to relax while tasting their incredible wines. It was the highlight of our trip to the valley.
