I used to never want to go inside this place. The name was rather ominous (Buy Buy Baby? Sounds like bye bye baby....) And it's located in Springfield Plaza, which has an "interesting" mix of clientele.
So what led me to this unappealing-sounding chain? My friend had a registry with them and it was conveniently on my route home from work. So I said, "eh, why not?"
I'm glad I gave this baby emporium a shot. It is now, officially, my favorite place to go to for all baby needs. Walk past those automatic doors into serenity. None of the craziness of Babies R Us. It's clean, well-organized and even smells good. And it bears a startling resemblance, in terms of layout, with another famous chain, Bed Bath and Beyond. Duh! Same parent company. Makes complete sense.
If you like your Bed Bath Beyond, then you'll like Buy Buy Baby, too. Everything is so easy to find, well-marked. The selection is extensive; I got everything from blankets to this innovation called a Pee Pee Tee Pee. (Imagine a common scenario when changing a baby boy.) Customer service was very helpful and patient. The sales manager personally assisted me in my search for items listed on my friend's registry and quickly checked their reliable database to find out what was in-stock. She then proceeded to lead me to all the available items.
All items for sale looked brand-new. (Seems obvious, but some stores are mighty guilty of selling obviously returned merchandise or crappy merchandise.)
Prices aren't cheap, probably standard, but at least it's all there. You can always go here to get ideas first then try to find a deal elsewhere. Sometimes though, you just need a one-stop shop and to be done with it. Buy Buy Baby has everything under the sun for expectant parents and their little ones. If it saves you time, it doesn't need to save you money, right? ;)
