The Best Things to Do in Dubrovnik, Croatia's Ambling Seaside City | Condé Nast Traveler

"Perched dramatically beneath the ancient walls, Buža Bar is the perfect place to reward yourself after wandering the Old Town with a well-earned beer and some of the loveliest sunset views in the city." - Katie Monk

"Climb the grand baroquestaircase and pass the Jesuit church, cross Gundulić Square, and follow the COLD DRINKS WITH THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VIEW signs. Then, yes, walk through the walls. Buža translates to “a hole-in-the-wall,” and a hole-in-the-wall it is, one that leads to a cliffside ledge with a bar on it. From the moment you order a cool beverage off a simple menu, you begin to unwind. The backdrop to your drink is stunning: a sky-high stone parapeton one side and nothing but the blue sea between you and the horizon. This is the ideal spot for swooning over Adriatic sunsets."

On the advice of a friend, we left our tour to go find this "secret" gem. It did not disappoint! We found the wall by the sea, kept walking and we saw the opening.! It also has a plaque on the wall which confirmed we were at the right place. It's a fairly small opening. When we got through, the view was amazing, people were coming back up the stairs, so we had to wait our turn, as there is not enough room for more than one person to walk up/down the stairs. The views were spectacular!!!! We just got some drinks and sat down at a table overlooking the sea. Just WOW!!

Probably the coolest bar we’ve ever been to! The views are absolutely breathtaking, set right on the cliffs overlooking the Adriatic. Not only is it a perfect spot to relax with great drinks, but it’s also an adventure—there are multiple cliff jumping spots and even areas where you can swim directly from the bar. The atmosphere is unmatched, the staff delivers phenomenal customer service, and the overall vibe makes it a must-visit in Dubrovnik. If you’re looking for a mix of relaxation, thrill, and stunning scenery, Buža Bar is the place to be

Genuinely the most beautiful bar I’ve ever been to. Its’ views of the Adriatic coastline are no short of stunning, and it’s easily accessible from the very streets of inner Dubrovnik. It is absolutely jumping but if you go on the off hour ( 3 or 4 ) you’ll get a seat and you’re welcome to spend as much time as you like. Waitstaff are friendly and intelligent, all of which able to seamlessly speak English, Croatian, and Italian. Absolutely phenomenal place.

Good music, a good selection of drinks although could be better, flexibility of ordering and a great vibe and view. Plenty of space to enjoy. We went outside of the peak summer time in early October and it wasn't overly busy and we easily got a table

. An incredible hidden gem just outside the city walls, perched over a cliff above the Adriatic Sea. Breathtaking doesn’t even begin to describe it. It’s quaint and peaceful—an ideal spot for a quiet break. The beer was ice cold, the views were stunning, the prices were fair, and the service was top-notch. What truly made it unforgettable? Sharing it with my incredible wife. She made the experience even better than it already was. Pro tip: Duck through the tiny archway and narrow doorway. We wouldn’t have found this spot if we hadn’t noticed people waiting for others to squeeze through the corridor down the goat steps. Find it. It’s worth it—100%.

Buža Bar – Such a cool spot, tucked through a little hole in the city wall that suddenly opens out to these incredible cliffside views. 🌊 We came mid afternoon and it was packed. You do have to fight for a chair but it's worth it, it really is something special, looking straight out to the Adriatic and Lokrum. The bar itself is very basic – drinks are a little pricey, and there isn’t much in the way of food – but honestly the location more than makes up for it. It does get super busy, so definitely come a bit earlier if you want a good seat. A few of us did some swimming and even jumped off the cliff. A bit rustic, a bit chaotic, but the views are unforgettable – absolutely worth a visit!

Great spot to take a breather after some walking and sun. You can just sit back relax and enjoy the breeze and ocean view. Bring your own swimsuits and towel if you plan to jump into the water from the cliff or cement steps. The bar only serve drinks and no food.
