Buzzard Bar

Food is delicious! We ate at least 3-4 times during our stay at Cedar lodge and enjoyed it every time. At nights they have live performance so it does get a bit loud if you have little ones. Staff is phenomenal… would highly recommend. They do have gluten free buns if necessary.

We were able to get open seating in the lower section of the restaurant. Lucky enough to snag a table before there was a crowd in the upstairs waiting area. Around 6pm on Friday. Tried the Big Cedar great escape amber ale which was very pleasant and not bitter. Got the Atlantic salmon over risotto. Great light lemon flavor and a crisp underside of the salmon. Risotto was nice and creamy. Buzzard bar burger comes with pimento cheese on top which is a unique change for most burgers. Sweet potato waffle fries were good but could use a little more salt in my opinion. By the time we left there was also much more crowding around the lower bar area as people were waiting on seats to open up. Around 7:30pm.

This is such a fun place to listen to live music on Big Cedar property. Clay does a phenomenal job. It is especially good when he is joined by the fiddle and bass player. They are all phenols l musicians! The Apple bomb is my favorite cocktail there. I did lower my stars due to it taking forever to get served—it’s apparent they are short staffed and the place is always packed. The food menu is really limited so it may not have enough variety for some people. The atmosphere is a blast though!

Always a good time!! The Singing Cowboy Clay Self puts on a terrific show & his interactions with the audience are hilarious. The other performers are excellent. Especially the lady that plays the fiddle. Service is top notch & the food/drinks are great.

Better as a bar than a restaurant. Food orders were slow, probably the kitchens fault. Food is priced like a nice restaurant but is more like bar food. Issues with what was ordered and what came up on the checks at the end.

$5.00 extra to share a meal??! That is ridiculous since the extra side volume is insignificant. Extra share charge wasn't clearly communicated when we ordered and the sandwich ended up not evenly split. Grilled chicken breast was hardly grilled and very small. Spilt sandwich left tiny bit of chicken on one of the splits. A of $ charged for very average meal. Maybe typical resort attitude in play.

Good place for better than average views, bar food, and a few cocktails. We also enjoy the live music.

Had the most amazing experience here. The food was delicious and the entertainment was so funny! Our waiter, Taylor, was extremely polite and interacted with us a lot. He made a lot of jokes and recommended so many great dishes for us. He made my experience here 10 times better. I got the "smokehouse burger" with sweet potato fries for my meal. The fries were amazing and the burger was pretty good as well. For some dessert, Taylor recommended the red velvet cake. IT WAS SO GOOD. Very rich and filling, worth the price 100%. The entertainer sang great music and interacted with the audience, making jokes and taking song requests. I absolutely love the vibes of this place. Would go back over and over again if I wasn't here on vacation. Highly recommend!!

Jarod was the best server ever! We cannot express our gratitude enough such a fun place to enjoy live music, great food, and company! The bison burger was delicious and the sweet potato fries were amazing! We enjoyed yummy wine and had the best time! ALSO major S/O to Jessica she is the pineapple MVP

Food was good, the entertainment was even better. This place is one of the few where you can grab a quick meal without reservations. It's a bar so beverages are where they are especially good.

While vacationing at Big Cedar do not neglect to stop at the Buzzard Bar for lunch or dinner. We've had the friendliest servers and the atmosphere is very log-cabinish cool. There is a small amount of outside seating overlooking a pool. The menu includes a nice variety of choices but my two absolute favorites are the Signature Beef Brisket Poutine and the Devils Pool Smokehouse Chili. The Poutine is loaded with a super generous portion of tender brisket smothered with gravy, cheese curds and fries. A meal in itself or a shared appetizer. The bowl of chili is chock full of chunks of tender beef and beans topped with onions and cheese. Best chili ever!

We had such a great time at Buzzard Bar. The food was great, plenty of different cocktails, and fun entertainment. Our waiter was extremely friendly and attentive to our group. The atmosphere was so quaint and welcoming.

Great evening. Clay is amazing. Always stop when we are in the Branson area. Good bar food, nice staff. Give it a try.

Definitely a different vibe at the Buzzard Bar. Prices were pretty high for the quality we were served. Fried okra was presented nice but was extremely soggy. Drinks were mediocre. However the service was great and the bartender was very nice.

I love this place. Cool atmosphere, friendly waitresses, tasty beers, and awesome live music. I give a very-rare five stars.

We always have fun at the Buzzard Bar! Especially when Clay Self is entertaining us. The bar food is generally pretty decent, or you can order items from the restaurant upstairs. The libations are reasonably priced, and extremely adequate. The main attraction for us though is the singing cowboy, Clay, who is very entertaining with his crowd interaction, off the wall banter, and musical talent. It's sometimes very crowded in the evenings, and it's recommended to share your table with others if you have space. That's also a way to meet interesting people.

Came for dinner on a Wednesday night and the bar was packed. We had to wait at the restaurant upstairs for about an hour before we were seated for a group of 10, but had a good time getting beers and talking with the server. Once we made it in, we had a great spot with a good view of the "singing cowboy". He was funny and a good performer. Our servers were also very quick and helpful. I got the chicken sandwich and it was pretty big! It came on more of a hoagie roll and was chicken tender style chicken. Which was very flavorful and well seasoned with great toppings. The waffle sweet potato fries also hit the spot. My friend got the tenders that come with a sweet chili sauce that was just soooo delicious. Was a fun spot. Recommend reservations for groups, if they take them.

Always has been the gold standard for a good time since the beginning of its existence.

We had done the Dogwood Canyon tram tour in the morning and gone to Top of the Rock/Big Cedar Lodge thinking we would eat at Osage. Because it was Sunday, all they offered was the Brunch buffet for $58 per person. It looked wonderful, but was way more than we were looking for. The hostesses suggested we take the shuttle to the Truman Cafe for sandwiches/burgers and they called the shuttle for us. When we got on the shuttle, another group ended up joining us and they were headed to Devil's Pool, which we had seen on Yelp! closed at 2pm. They were staying on property and I asked their opinion and they said 1000% Devil's Pool if you're wanting good food. The shuttle driver said that though he had never eaten at either place, he could confirm that what he hears on a daily basis is that if you want good food, Devil's Pool, but he could not confirm that they were open so he would wait there until we went in and verified. When I went in and asked the people at the host station, they explained that yes, Devil's Pool closes mid day, but they are open downstairs in the Buzzard Bar with the same menu. The service was great and the food was delicious. We were lost as to what to order and wanted to try several things, so we ordered one of every appetizer except for the okra. The fried ravioli was my favorite. The poutine was my second favorite. We ordered way too much food for 5 people, but ended up eating more than I expected.... we were all really hungry! Definitely recommend!!!

After driving for seven hours, we arrived and weren't greeted by anyone. When we asked for a menu we were met with attitude. Really felt shunned and like we were a burden. The real problem is they charged me twice. Once for dinner as expected. Then again for over a thousand dollars. Real crummy way to start our honeymoon. Don't bother going here. You'll get better service anywhere else. Also it was $75 for two burgers and two drinks.

This place is absolutely hands down perfection. The food was delectable, the environment was lodge cozy, friendly service. The restaurant is part of Big Cedar Lodge development but not the main part, it is off to the side. There is a suspended walking bridge as well as vehicle bridge that is so quaint and beautiful. From the bridge there is a amazing waterfall view as well as the canyon below. Gorgeous. The restaurant is a log cabin, and just teaming with cozy warmth. I love all the finishing touches with the large fireplaces and decor. I came for lunch, was sat that right away, the restaurant wasn't too busy. I sat next to the window with a beautiful view of the lodge next to it and the canyon below. The weather is a bit dreary but it still had a cozy vibe. I ordered the cinnamon toast drink that was warm apple cider with rum. I liked the warmth, was a bit too sweet for my taste. Jay was my server and was the ultimate pro. He was friendly, had great follow-up and was on top of it! Great customer service. I went ahead and splurged and got a few things, knowing that I would be taking the remainder back with me for dinner. I had the deviled eggs, which had pickled eggs, salmon, very tasty. I had a cup of chili which was rich, nice chunks of meat, and a robust flavor. Topped with cheese, this chili does not disappoint! I also got the bar-b+q burger with french fries. This is one of the biggest burgers I've ever had It was topped with brisket, a delicious barbecue sauce, fried jalapenos. So good. The fries were thick and crispy, really nice. This was definitely a fabulous treat and I would highly suggest devil's pool Restaurant for an amazing dining experience!

Crazy busy, and you have to hover to grab a table as soon as one is available. Food was pretty good, even though a bit pricey. The service was good considering how packed the place was. We started off with the fried okra appetizer. It was different because it was fried whole. It was pretty good, but needed to be much crispier. I had the fried chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries, and both were very good. We also ordered a Caesar salad, Cobb salad, potato soup and chicken wings. We covered a lot of ground on their menu items!

We've been to this bar many times over the years as we have visited Big Cedar and I've always enjoyed the entertainment here so we always keep coming back. Unfortunately, the menu doesn't evolve in a good way. There use to be a humus Mediterranean wrap that was delicious, but it was removed a couple of years ago. I wasn't feeling excited about anything on the menu so I opted for a large Caesar salad which was ok. Really wish some of the items at some of the other restaurants were available here, like the shrimp tacos from pool next door.

Food is mediocre and it's very loud. Too loud to visit comfortably without shouting. Proximity to Big Cedar is a plus.

We had a blast at the Buzzard Bar during our visit to Branson!! Highly recommended for fun, food and drinks!! I would love to know how to make the "DRUNKEN PUMPKIN" drink

Maybe a bit loud, but it is a bar. The sandwiches and appetizers are wonderful and the ambiance is pretty cool. All with a hunting lodge vibe.

Come for the ambiance not the food. Like most of Big Cedar, the decorations are on point. Located just a few step's from Devil's pool, it has a fun, tucked away & laid back atmosphere. We hoped to watch live entertainment but that doesn't start until 8:45. We were really hoping this would be better quality food as Uncle Buck's but unfortunately it's the same. Catfish, prime rib, baked potato soup, kid's filet, chicken strips and a hamburger. Hands down the best thing was the kid's 4 oz. filet with the burger a close second. The food quality is almost identical to Sportservice food. Sportservice mostly supplies food to big arenas, ballparks etc. It isn't inedible but thawed, reheated and bland.

Unfortunately I cannot recall our waitress's name, but she was phenomenal. And the four of us really enjoyed our dinner. We dine at Devil's pool whenever we vacation in Ridgedale.

Holly was a helpful and friendly server. The location was amazing, and the food was delicious. I chose this place because of the gluten free options.

Had a great lunch here, and service was very good. We started with the brisket poutine, and it was really good. (The brisket was pretty fatty, but we just picked the fat off) My kids both absolutely raves about their meals: Mac and cheese and a cheeseburger. I have to admit, the Mac and cheese was probably the best restaurant Mac and cheese we have ever tried (we all had to try a bite). The burger was also really tasty. My husband enjoyed his club sandwich, and I got a small salad with chicken. The chicken was not seasoned and very dry, but everything else was so good, I figured I just ordered the wrong thing.

The singing cowboy (Clay) is a must! Such a cool vibe in this basement bar. You won't be disappointed.

I love the wings my husband loves the nachos!! Clay Self is the best late night entertainment in the area!!!

Not only is the food, atmosphere, and ambiance great, but the cowboy country singer was so entertaining! We will certainly go back.

Great service and food - if you're looking for something easy and delicious, this is your place.

Ate here on a Tuesday evening in the upstairs area. Really cool ambiance, which is rustic and has lots of stuffed animals throughout the area. Seated quickly and had great service. Ordered the catfish meal. Food was out in about 15 minutes. Fries and fish were piping hot. Neither was greasy.

Great atmosphere, great music and food. What more can you ask for? The entire resort is top notch.

We were sitting at the bar tonight and had a couple drinks and food. The bar was getting busy. There seemed to be a lot of flies around as the door was opening often and letting them in. The bar tender made a drink and a fly came out of one of the mixes. Well the bartender used his bare hand to fish that fly out of the drink and sent that drink to a table. He then coughed into that hand. My husband and I were shook that someone would do that. Seemed so unsanitary. We will be ordering wine, beer or something single serve in the future.

Love coming here when we stay at Big Cedar! The food was very good. Had the smoked prime rib and ate every bite; hurt from being so full but worth it. Also ordered the brisket poutine and it was very good. I like how both the meats did not have an overpowering smoke taste. It was enough to taste and compliment. Enjoyed the food and listening to Clay sing!

This is always a great place to eat. I love the entertainment with Clay Self. I just wish he would play a little earlier than 8:45. It's hard for us older folks to stay up to see him. 7:00 or 7:30 would be better.

Parking was fairly easy, we came about 2 pm so there was plenty of seating. The server was kind and responsive. We ordered the buffalo burger and brisket poutine, both of which were very good. The brisket had quite a bit of fat on it, but the taste was really good.

Food was great but the music was amazing! Justin is an amazing musician - played so many different genres from the home states of the guests. We were celebrating a bride to be and he let her select her favorite song. AND it was his 25th wedding anniversary and his wife joined him in a heart felt duo! Justin is worth coming to see!

Made a quick stop to check out Big Cedar lodge and grabbed lunch at Buzzard's Bar. We started with the loaded tater tots. My husband and I had the club, our son had the pulled pork sliders and our daughter had grilled cheese. They all had fries for a side but I had the house salad...DELISH!!! Unique homemade blueberry balsamic dressing. Fresh brewed tea...perfect on a hot August day. Service was very good. Total bill was just under $75.

Good food and music, service was excellent even though it was extremely busy. Clay and his band were amazing. He interacts with the crowd, especially with the kids!!!

This is still a solid place for good food, reasonably priced drinks (they have a good selection of bourbons!) and atmosphere! There is a nice view of the lake, but remember they still do not take reservations. It is a stand around and hover kind of place!

Great place for a quick lunch on the Big Cedar resort. We sat in the bar which was a nice reprieve from the heat outside. The food wasn't bad, nothing I would rave over, but the service from the bar was great, the bartender was personable and attentive. As far as COVID concerns, everyone working wore a mask and we got temperature checks before entering. The tables were pretty spaced out but it wasn't packed anyway so we felt pretty safe from pesky germs.

Aweosme entertainment usually always busy fun crowd. However there was like two servers for the entire place so things took a while. Very loud but again fun! They serve the upstairs menu as well! Food was good pork chops a little over cooked.

If it was a rating purely on food and fun alone, this place would be a 5-Star rating hands down. The entertainment at night, the drinks and the atmosphere are perfect for daytime family fun by the pool or drinking on site at night with your family, friends or co-workers. The food they serve is what I would consider Big Cedars take on traditional bar food, with wings, nachos and the like plus some more substantial but still typical American food meals. I haven't really had anything I didn't like from the menu, although I will say it is a little tough to find a lot to eat as a vegetarian. Nachos were very good and my group loved both flavors we tried on the wings. The things that I don't like so much about this place: the servers can be incredibly rude, which is annoying on a personal level, but especially when you're entertaining for business is a real problem. They will ignore you on purpose and glare at you for asking for services after you've been ignored. This wasn't a one time or one group thing unfortunately, and it is really disappointing that such a charming place overall allows this sort of behavior in this restaurant. They won't allow any politics on the TVs, which I get from a news standpoint I guess, but I had to sit and watch the presidential debAtes on my cell phone to be able to watch anywhere on property that wasn't my room, which I think is pretty silly. Finally, they close very early even on weekends, so make sure you've stocked your room for an after party, because you certainly won't be allowed to stay here even a second late.

This place is where memories are made! We have been coming here since 2007. Always amazing food, service and entertainment. The views are also spectacular. This place has it all! Be sure to ask for the smoked trout! It's not on the menu but it's available and to die for! Same with chicken livers! Clay as always was amazing to hear singing. Buffalo wings were best I've ever had!

We visited the Buzzard Bar on a Monday early evening. We sat on the patio and took in the breathtaking scenery while sipping a refreshing Cocktail. Here were 10 of us so we ordered almost everything on the limited menu. The pasta dish was delicious, brussel sprouts and roasted fingerling potatoes were amazing. The various rolls and bread were the best with their signature herbed butter. The fried chicken was delicious but very small serving. The desserts were good, the gooey butter cake and the chocolate cookie brownie was also good. The staff was very attentive and could describe each dish they had on menu. Pleasant and helpful. Just fyi the drinks and food is very pricey.

Enjoyed the ambiance at Buzzard's bar. The bread, house salad, and sliced mushrooms as an add on, were great. I didn't care for the sweet potatoes, they were hard and under cooked in my opinion, however, my husband liked them. I was expecting more from the 10 oz filet but it was aged and had an unusual taste. The musician there provided really great music. His mom was a Lennon sister who was on the Lawrence Welk show! He was in Andy Williams band for years. Very talented. Enjoyable evening!

The open late night and all day bar and grill establishment of Big Cedar serving a full restaurant menu, shared with Devil's Pool and room service (STEAKS), till 11:30! I am not sure which is better to be inside w/ singing cowboy and charisma or outside on the excellent open air & stone patio with a view, but that is a good debate over drinks. In the basement of a restaurant is a log and taxidermy friendly (BUT NO SMOKING!) "Buzzard Bar". Yeah, there is a hunting & fishing theme to Big Cedar, but I am enjoying the theme. The solo artist played guitar while singing old country songs on this late Sunday night visit. I knew this place was good old country boy from how he made fun of the newer pop country singers during a laid back comedy routine between and during songs. Overall the place is friendly and vacation upscale, but in that wink (or complete bow) to Ozark country good old boy. The place was packed with the outdoor type vacationers looking to have a good time. They and I did. I liked this place so much I bought a hat- I do NOT do that. For the food review check Devil's Pool- this is about the bar. What is weird is the only menu they show is the Devil's Pool menu, but are willing to cook off the room service menu. Maybe the could print a few "Open Late for the Night Owls" menu that is more informative.

Great spot near the water with live entertainment. I wish we wouldn't have arrived so late, it was already 11pm so the Devils Pool restaurant was closed. The hosts directed us downstairs to the Buzzard Bar that was still open. The 4 of us took a seat at the bar and got to catch the last of the live cover band playing. It seemed like a fun environment even in the short time we were there. I am forgetting the bartenders name at the moment, it's Jim or Tim i know that much but anyway you can tell he is a pro and has been doing this a very long time. 16 years for that matter. He kept it short, and to the point but still showed his customer service skills and i can appreciate that. He was extremely busy, the only bartender taking care of everything and did an excellent job. I also like how he and the other staff went around to everyone at closing to ask if they needed a shuttle ride back. Apparently there is some "blue law" where you can't be served alcohol or even be in the establishment past midnight. Idk

The four star review stands following my most recent visit to Buzzard Bar. The service is outstanding, the food is good but still not great. It continues to be a fun atmsophere when you're looking for a night out and a few drinks.

Had a great time on each visit. The atmosphere was great. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We had the wings and pulled pork nachos. I personally didn't like the margaritas, but that's just me. The beer was cold and selection was great. Great bartender and wait staff.

The food is good and the service very professional. One thing that should be highlighted is the house wine quality. From * to ***** it is a *. The reason: I ordered a Big Cedar Cabernet. I returned it. No taste, no body, no color, no aroma. It is made in California. I ordered instead a Wild Horse Cabernet, better. If the restaurant wants to be recognize for its quality, should change the provider. We have been there many times. Things happened. I will give anyway ****.

Staying at Big Cedar Lodge. Called in an order and was told that everything would be ready in an hour. Went there about 45 minutes later and they hadn't even put our order in. They told us that they were busy.. wow. They would be getting -6 stars for customer service if possible. It's pretty ridiculous that we are paying to stay in this resort and on top of that paying high prices for mediocre food and they can't even bother to put our order in because they are "busy". Update on food that we finally received: Food was uncooked, missing several things like salad dressing, and overall just not worth it. Between the excuses for bad service and trash they called food, this place deserves to be shut down. Anyone in their right mind would avoid this restaurant under different circumstances but considering it's the only place within 15 miles of this restaurant, it seems like it's a trap.
