Yelp
I feel like this diner has fantastic potential from brunch to all day breakfast - I was very excited as I had read there were mind(s) from Spirit behind this restaurant, however food falls flat.
A lot of the items feel pre-prepared, which is underwhelming for a basic diner menu. The food fails to be either satisfyingly wholesome as a traditional diner, or to feel fresh/updated.
Classic Egg breakfast -
Eggs were fine
Hash browns - flat and dry, feels like they were pre-cooked and just reheated on the griddle. Throwing chives and hollandaise on them could not mask how stale/dry they were.
Bacon was also dry, I can see crisp bacon being a choice and am fine with that but given how dry the entire plate was, it really did not help.
Sloppy Joe (Vegetarian) - Bread was lightly toasted, but still somehow felt stale/dry.
Chilli was ok, didn't blow my mind (but I do have good spice tolerance), relish was 'eh' did not seem thought out. Spring onions also look like they have been drying in a fridge pre-cut for a full day, minor detail, but given the state of the whole plate it didn't help.
Tea - Even the 'fresh' mint tea the leaves were wilted like they have been left outside for 2 days, a simple thought as to keep the stems in water to stop them drying out would just give it a step up, though this would be a finer detail compared with the food issues.
Coffee - Espresso is pretty average (I love that they have soy milk option, but my order was very burnt/split), the bottomless filter is unfortunately probably the best thing here besides the decor.
I really hope these are just teething issues because I love the restaurant concept. However without improvement I will probably not try them again.
