Even with the nice location and ambiance, the food doesn’t justify the price. The shrimp pasta and the green salad was good but the meatball pasta was way too salty and the wagyu dumpling was very disappointing. Any frozen dumpling from tnt would taste better. The service was okay, though it could have been a bit more attentive.

This multi level venue offers a dynamic experience; the Bar Lounge features a lively atmosphere with happy hour specials, handcrafted drinks, and a live DJ while the Main Dining Room provides a more refined dining experience. Every dish was impressive, but standout recommendations include the Wagyu dumplings, truffle fries, and freshly shucked oysters.

I LOVE the vibes of the restaurant and being conveniently located in the financial district. I personally loved the rigatoni and lemon chicken dish and I would highly recommend those.

Google
Classy experience in the financial district. Tasty food, but abnormally slow service (hopefully a one-off). Oddly empty given the quality of food. We went in as a group of 4 on a Friday night with reservations at 6:30. The restaurant was completely empty upon arrival and hardly filled up throughout the night (there were maybe four other table throughout our time there), much to my surprise. I had been here years prior and it was quite busy, so my initial gut reaction was that something had gotten much worse. Our server was very friendly and our cocktails and dishes were great. The octopus and calamari appetizer was cooked very well, and the wagyu dumplings were very crispy and a great sharing. Our group spoke pretty favorably about all of the entrees we got (scallops, salmon, rigatoni, and chicken). For dessert, the donuts were excellent and not too sweet. We also opted for a cookie platter and our server accommodated my weird request for as many chocolate chip cookies as possible lol. The cookies were just okay, and I probably wouldn't get them again. A tad bit burnt at the bottom and they almost has a fruity taste to them, so I wouldn't call them chocolate chip cookies to be honest. The biggest gripe we had was that service was extremely slow. It took almost thirty minutes from seating to get our orders placed, and another fifteen minutes to get our first round of drinks. Do keep in mind that the restaurant was completely empty when we arrived. I still gave this place a five star review as there are a few caveats: our server informed us that they had just changed their menu that day, so certain operations were running slower. Also, having been here years prior there were never issues with the service. So I'm giving Bymark the benefit of doubt here and hoping that this was a one-off issue. Overall, it was a good experience and I'd come back again for a nice night out.

Came here for an office Christmas party. Really attentive service and drinks. Food wise the octopus is better than Bar Isabel. Steak was meh a little below average; seasoning a bit too light and overcooked. But honestly I can imagine trying to cook and serve 30 steaks at the same time is very challenging. Loved the dessert donuts!

Google
One of the best restaurants in Toronto and I can say that confidently. The entrance and setup is a bit unusual but classy and sleek nonetheless. The service was friendly and very good. The food is no doubt the highlight - everything we had we adored and the dessert was great as well. Definitely an expensive meal but I would say it is for sure worth it for a special occasion.

Google
My first time here, and I feel like this is the place you go to after work in the Financial District in Toronto. I just felt like I was a sophisticated businesswoman, closing deals while eating good food and drinking yummy cocktails. Came here for a retirement party, and the wait staff were fabulous! I ate the food too fast to take any pictures, but the drinks were great, and I love the outdoor space. The bathrooms are an interesting layout, but you can fit in a little extra cardio walking down and up the 2 flights of stairs!

Google
It was a very delightful experience. The price is absolutely worth the wonderful food. • The Calamari and Octopus in Cashew and Coconut paste was so well presented and so delicious (4.5/5) • The beef Burger was medium rare and juicy on the inside (4.5/5) • Veal Schnitzel was extremely crunchy on the outside (4/5) • The dessert was by far the by best dessert experience of my life. Caramelized popcorn with ice cream and cheesecake. The presentation in itself was wow. (5/5)

Yelp
Food was good to excellent, depending on the dish. Service was fantastic, even though we had a somewhat loud group who were enjoying ourselves. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Yelp
Great location, mediocre food, tiny portions and rip off pricing. We ordered some apps which honestly tasted average but portions were tiny for the cost. The mains we had after were sub par. Service was average. Better spots around.

Yelp
A downtown classic, this restaurant has received some mixed reviews but it seems we ordered all the right things because the food was excellent. We started with a selection of appetizers, all of which arrived presented beautifully and tasted just as exquisite. There was someone at the table who had never tried grilled octopus before, and this dish made him an instant fan. I had the pan seared halibut for my main, and was quite impressed by the flavour of the broth. The sweet and sour combination was well balanced, and the fish itself was very tender and fresh. I was also surprised to hear compliments about the quality of the steak from others at the table, who rated it even more highly than some of the steakhouses in the area. The meal was perfectly finished off with dessert - I absolutely adored their berry yuzu sorbet, so much so that I had to ask if it was sold in bulk (hint: it's not). The ambience was subtle and muted, with comfortable seating - very suitable for conversation during a weekday lunch. Service was an absolute delight: the waiter attending on our table was professional and courteous, happy to accommodate dietary restrictions, prompt in responding to requests, and generally made the experience extremely enjoyable. If you can afford it (or get your workplace to afford it), this place is highly recommended!

Yelp
Perfect spot for a night of ennui. Lived nearby for years. Celebrated a birthday here. And the occasional evening drop ins. Always love the vibe.

Yelp
Had a very good business lunch here. Nice outdoor seating space during the summer. Right in the middle of the financial district. So, most of the people eating here at lunchtime are there for some kinda business. It's got that feel and it is perfect for that.

Yelp
I don't think I've been more excited to check out a restaurant than to check this place out. Bymark is a joke from the get go... If you want the blandest most inspired cuisine you can imagine this is the place for you! We obviously checked out the menu online before and everything looks pretty good on paper but the literal definition of lack of execution is paramount here. We were early and were nervous we wouldn't be able to get a seat in the place...it's a downtown Toronto restaurant, by Mark McEwan, after a baseball game 4 blocks away, with a great looking menu...we had 0 problem getting in seeing as the place was completely empty!! We knew it was trouble but we were still excited. The room is definitely elegant and well put together minus the lack of patrons...almost eerily empty We started with a couple cocktails that were both very tasty, unfortunately a Negroni and over explained screwdriver were 50 dollars... We had a pretty excellent crab cakes actually...too bad 30 bucks for two, four woulda been alright. They make a Korean style dumpling which were also very good, probably the best thing we had on the night...unfortunately down hill from here Mains....my SH (sweetheart) had the shawarma rubbed chicken with a spiced couscous...dry chicken, couscous was tasty kinda..nothing much to it...I mentioned to our fellow is was incredibly dry, his care level was 0...40 dollars I had a veal schnitzel thing with arugula and Parmesan with blah blah blah....dry and absolutely worth nothing as a dish in a restaurant that is presenting itself as fine dining. Any hack with meat tenderizer and a cheap piece of pork could recreate this..if the menu didn't say veal there is zero chance anyone in their right mind would say "yup! Veal" We decided to order a few sides with our meal...unfortunately they never showed up...THANK GOD! It wasn't on our bill so I guess the wretched nature of this restaurant paid off a little.. Desert...no chance I'm risking it here I am embarrassed for a supposed restauranteur such as Mark McEwan to let this be attached to his name in any way. Completely moronically priced and just a shit stain of an experience... Do not go here!!!!!!! Cheers Andy

Yelp
Ambience and service was great but I'd rather eat a McDonald's cheeseburger as it would be far more enjoyable than the over/under cooked and extremely poor seasoned organic material that this restaurant tries to pass as "food". Like, seriously.

Yelp
Had a very enjoyable dinner of corn-crab fritters with schnitzel main and salted caramel cheesecake for dessert. Everything delicious and nicely presented and seasoned. Crab fritters were really tasty and served with a nice sauce. Service was very attentive and friendly. Extra star - clearly whoever is managing the bar knows to clean the taps regularly and properly! The draft tasted perfect unlike many bars where the draft tastes slightly off. We had other cocktails, each done perfectly. Is it a bit on the pricey side? Perhaps. Really depends on your snack bracket.

Yelp
I have been a fan of Mark McEwan for awhile, so I jumped at the chance to try this place during Winterlicious. I really liked that the staff didn't treat you any differently by being a Winterlicious customer. My favourite part was the soup. I loved the presentation; they give you a bowl with the chunky ingredients of the soup, and then they pour the soup on top of them at your table from a tea pot. Although the food is a bit on the expensive side on a regular day, it would be nice to come back for a special occasion b/c the flavour is definitely there.

Yelp
I've always given Bymark 5 stars and have been eating there for over 20 years. However today was really bad. At lunch I ordered the crab fritters and gem salad along with a glass of wine. The $19 "salad" consisted of about eight or nine gem leaves spread out flat on a big plate with a bit of dressing and red onion, and nothing else. That I probably could've lived with, however, when I cut into one of the fritters and took a bite, it was cold and greasy. The waiter asked how it was, and I reluctantly admitted that it wasn't great, and he immediately took it back to the kitchen. He delivered another plate a few minutes later, and I took a bite. And yes it was indeed warmer on the outside but these fritters were raw inside! I'm always very shy to return food (esp when dining with a client) so I didn't say anything but about an hour after lunch I had a horrible stomach ache that has stayed with me into the night. To add insult to injury the fritters were $28 for five inedible balls. I am so disappointed by this experience.

Yelp
I wanted to like this restaurant, but for the $$$ you pay, I expected better food quality and service. My reservation was for 7:15 on a Thursday night, hubby and I got there at 6:45. The weather seemed nice enough, so I asked if we could sit outside, even though my reso was for the indoor dining room. We got seated and the wind was just too much. I asked if we can go back to my original indoor reso, but the manager said the dining room was full. Strange, because it wasn't even 7:15 and they already gave my table away? Hm. So, table #2 was by the bar, where the table was at my knees. I didn't want to spend $150 on dinner and eat it off my lap. I went back to the hostess to inquire about my original indoor reservation - and she seated was in the dining room, ha! Success, at table #3. Now for the food. I read some reviews before going to Bymark, so I knew it was going to be overpriced. The portion sizes were tiny, apps and entree, and everything was too salty. The calamari was crunch, small rings, light batter, came with lemon garlic aioli (tasted like regular mayo to me), but too salty. The shrimp tacos were okay in terms of flavour, but each were the size of a tortilla chip. The beet wrap was different, but 6 bite-sized snacks didn't warrant $23. They are definitely NOT tacos. The hand-stretched mushroom pizza was my favourite app of the three. The crust was delicious, they used king oyster mushrooms and fresh mozzarella. For the main, I ordered the smoked duck. The small 5-bite duck breast was flavourful, the skin could've been crunchier. It was served with a confit ravioli which I didn't care for. The white leek purée went well with the duck. This dish was $38. For dessert, we ordered vanilla marscapone ice cream, berry and citrus yuzu at $3 per scoop. Our waiter was just ok, he didn't do anything above and beyond. For a fine dining restaurant, it was super loud and the patrons around us broke out in boisterous laughter from time to time. I've been to fine dining before and I definitely wouldn't categorize Bymark as that. My $150 gift card didn't get us too much food. Would I go back? No I would not. Maybe if I billed my clients $300 an hour like some folks on Bay Street, I can have lunch and dinner here on the regular.

Yelp
This is a place to go take Instagram pictures because the food is awful, the hospitality changes depending on what you wear and hope you look. The steak I tasted here was the worst of all my life, the portions were too small and I am a person who worked in fine dining. The "cheesecake" was a joke!. It is not a cheesecake at all just some small cream on an oversized plate. We went there for my girlfriend's birthday, it was a horrible decision of mine. The location is great, you have too much money to waste on awful food and take some cool Instagram pictures by Mark is the way to go. The name made sense after I tried this place, it's to say " I got fu*** by mark" 1/10

Yelp
We were in town for the opera and needed a great meal to top off the night. Bymark exceeded our expectations. When approaching, we thought we may have booked a patio restaurant. Thankfully, when you enter the front door, there is a gorgeous subterranean space with a wine cellar, sleek decor, and a great vibe. Our server, Ricky, was on top of our orders, and there were many drinks, many apps, and entrees all around. The stand outs were the red wine carpaccio, the steak, the lobster poutine, and the oysters. Everything was fantastic and fabulous though. What a great place to have a special night out. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Duck was cooked perfectly, although the dessert was a bit deconstructed. Service: Waitress was very friendly, and was fairly attentive given how busy it was on a Saturday night. Food: The ahi tuna tartare was executed very well, with the wasabi-yuzu aioli balancing the tuna. The duck breast was cooked perfectly and very tender, definitely recommended! I wasn't a fan of the cheesecake - even though it looked pretty appealing, I prefer a classic cheesecake to the deconstructed version. Overall: Great dining experience in a very romantic setting, with dimly lit candles to compliment dinner. Highly recommended establishment for a fancy date night!

Yelp
Beware of this restaurant. After being served and taking one sip of our wine a rat ran directly behind where I was sitting across the top of the banquet. We left immediately after that.

Yelp
I think this was by far the most exceptional service and time I've EVER had in the entire of my meager 24 years of life!!! My boyfriend and I reserved this place for our 2 year anniversary - it's oddly situated in front of the TD Towers but hey, get that bread Bymark! We came during COVID so they had options to scan a PDF of the menu, which I thought was very clever. We promptly got seated - however, the manager came by and stated that unfortunately another table wanted the area we were in (there was some sort of mix-up). She said she'd buy us a round of drinks to compensate. Girl, FREE DRINKS TO MOVE MY BUTT? For sure, of course! So we moved, and got ourselves some fancy drinks, comped! :) So hats off for the manager for treating us not like peasants. We got a variety of things (one day in the life to be fancy), and we got the Calamari and the Ahi Tuna Tartare. MY GOD - get the Tartare. It was like nothing I've ever tasted and was a fan favourite between my boyfriend and I. For our mains, I got the 6 ounce strip loin and my boyfriend got the lamb. Again, both fan-favourites and chatting about how we wanted to live this type of life every day for the rest of our lives. We decided to end the night with dessert - we got the Lindt chocolate cake and the donuts. Both, again, so good, so fat, so much goodness. They also wrote "Happy Anniversary" on the plates too, which was so cute! The entire time, the service was just exceptional. Like, I felt special when I was dining there. I never feel special at restaurants, so KUDOS! Alas, it was our time to go (begrudgingly), but the manager also comped our desserts as well - since we were celebrating our anniversary and that we were nice about the table move (girl, I just moved my butt but sure!). All in all, it was such an exceptional place with great service, that 1000000% I would spend that moo-lah to come here time and time again. TIP: Parking is free if you park at the adjacent TD TOWER AND NOT THE RBC BUILDING. We didn't know, and the ticket they gave us to compensate the parking didn't work. So make sure you park at the correct place to save that fee!

Yelp
What can I say , well the patio is awesome ans even better in a Saturday night when there is no sniffling money traders eyeing up any woman that walks and talking like fraternity boys . So go on sat enjoy some apps ,octopus and calamari are decent the shrimp tacos the gf swears by . The mains burger is good , steak cooked perfect and seasoned well . The frites terrific . Dessert ok no big deal . The service is good , try hard even if not polished . Best part bring your own wine and have a wonderful time on patio , the basement dinning room is a windowless very upscale food court

Yelp
I rarely eat in the Financial District but came here for a girls night. It's a nice restaurant but the crowd was pretty diverse - birthday parties, dates, families with babies, and girls night groups. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and for the main, I got the duck. Everything was decent but nothing was like.. amazing or anything. Service is trash though. Super slow and it took them a decade to bring the food out and to get our bill.

Yelp
We decided to go to Bymark for dinner last minute on last Friday evening around 5:30. As we were in a rush to leave for another appointment at 6:30, we went for winterlicious menu as in general it tends to be faster. And given our weird timing, we were able to get seated without reservation or wait time. The service is superb as the waitress went beyond her way to make sure we can be out in one hour. She asked about our needs, speeded up the process and on the same time made us feel very comfortable as she never rushed us. The food is in huge portion. We ordered the Burrata, Grilled Radicchio and Kimchi Steak Tartare for appetizer. Both of us really liked it as the steak tartare is seasoned well and Burrata as always is creamy on the roasted squash. For main, we went for Braised Lamb Strozzapreti Pasta and 7oz Dry Aged Burger. I like the lamb pasta and the lamb was cooked well and not too dry. The burger is pretty good too as you can taste it is freshly made and with good meat. However the desserts are subpar. We ordered the Chocolate Tart and Sticky Toffee Doughnuts. The tart shell is really hard and I really do not want to give my teeth the challenge. They give 2 donuts. I think one would be enough for me as it is too heavy and too sweat. Overall the service and the main for winterlicious are really good. And I always like Bymark in general for regular menu. So I will defiantly go back in the future.

Yelp
This rating is only for winterlicious 2020 lunch menu. Got a reservation right after winterlicious reservation opened, Bymark is always very popular so we aLways wanted to try. I can't eat fish so I went with cauliflower&zucchini salad, duck confit and sticky toffee donut. My friends also went with Tuna Tartare, Braised Lamb Pasta and Lemon Cheesecake. But I will only cover what I ate: 1. cauliflower&zucchini salad. I am a meat lover, I would never order non-meat dish if I have choices, but other than the tuna, there is no other meat appetizer. It was far beyond my expectation, the hummus blends so well with the roasted cauliflower, its crunchy, its savoury, the fried chickpeas and the pomegranate bits gives this salad another dimension of texture and flavours. It definitely changed my opinion about vegetarian appetizers. 2. I asked the server for his suggestions on the entree because I couldn't eat salmon and I don't know what to choose between duck confit and lamb pasta, he said "duck, for sure duck". I am glad I made that choice. The skin of the duck is so crispy, with the sour apple bits on the top, the flavours just explode in my mouth. I really enjoyed the sauce too, but after a few bites, the duck got a little bit too salty. I hope I could get a little more sour apple so the acid can cut thru the fat. 3. I have a sweet tooth, and the sticky toffee donut is right in my alley, but if you can't eat too sweet, u would end up with some of my friends who didn't even finish 1/2 the dish. IT IS VERY VERY SWEET, and if you go for lunch, it will put u into a food coma afterwards :D but its worth for me. I enjoyed my experiences overall in this restaurants and I will be back for more delicious food next time.

Yelp
Came here for a wedding and considering they served over 100 guests, the quality of the food and service was on point. I'd recommend other people to consider holding their special occasions at Bymark. The Lamb Rack & Sous Vide Lamb Shoulder entree was fantastic!

Yelp
Pricey, good food but nothing spectacular. Service was excellent. Covid protocols followed well. I was very temperamental with my body temperature as we were eating under a tent during the pandemic. The staff was very accommodating with manevouring the gas heaters multiple times.

Yelp
Right across from the TD Buildings and outside is the patio that can see publicly on the same ground level as the walking commuters - this is the popular spot located close to the TD park area where others lunch on and hang out casually during their lunch breaks. A very positive first impression and experience - this place will see you right with the food and service they deliver. For about a $30ish/person lunch, they know how to cater to your needs adequately. The vibe and experience is positive overall, no particular complaints and the food speaks for itself. Very well done and no issues with the quality of the food.

Yelp
Late lunch at Bymark is always a delight. This is also one of Marc McEwan's beautiful restaurants. It's been here as long as I can remember. And every table was taken. We had reservations. Starting with an absolutely marvellous squash with a touch of ginger, cilantro, a few chilli peppers and a dash of tiny crumbles of bacon ... perfection in a soup. Linda had the ahi tuna, with papaya mango salad (she says OMG!), and I had the veal schnitzel with delightful house greens and a dash of some kind of incredible dressing. Insanely good! Our wine was a Blue Mountain (Okanagan) Pinot Gris we've never tried before. Perfect pairing for both of us!

Yelp
We came here for Summerlicious 2019. The last time we were here was four years ago and was either a Winterlicious event or Summerlicious event. It is located downtown Toronto, beneath the Toronto Dominion tower building or at the concourse level. Atmosphere 3.75/5 Really nice. Modern and sleek. Definitely romantic and business casual altogether. I like to see what I am eating. This place definitely provides reasonable light to showcase their meals. Not a place for kids or teens. Young adults, young professionals, and up. Service 3.5/5 The service was decent. I feel that it was understaffed even for a weekday. I think one extra person would have helped to provide better table service. Kind of expected more for this place. Food 3.75/5 The food was great, however it wasn't something that wow us too crazy. We ordered following: Appetizers 1. Tuna, octopus, and scallops ceviche 2. Fried green tomatoes and crispy pork belly Mains 1. Duck confit 2. Pan seared halibut Dessert 1. Lindt chocolate profiterole 2. Cold coconut rice pudding The ceviche tasted very sour and fishes. The sauce drowned out all the sweetness completely. Overall, it was good for general. But for their type aiming for upper tier definitely missed the mark. Compared to the first time we went, they dropped the ball this time. I wrote this review after I went to Canoe the week after Bymark, with the same Summerlicious event price; kind of disappointed and didn't worth the value. It is the price versus value that made it a three star versus a four star.

Yelp
McEvan Bymark is a very average restaurant. It is very fusion, out of the world expectation. Too fusion that I cannot too accept. The crab cake appetizer is good, but the main is too fusion. We have the pasta with snow pea, and the other main is scallop with shrimp wonton. I think I am eating Chinese food in a high end restaurant, with a high end price. Everything is average to me, nothing too memorable, except the decor. I would not too recommend ByMark.

Yelp
Very good appetizers, the best part of the meal in fact, tasty and original. Main were not as exceptional by contrast, but still ok for sure. Desserts are ok as well. Service is attentive. It can be very noisy inside, very... try and go outside if you can... noise may not be a problem unique to tbis place in toronto though...

Yelp
Wonderful dining experience in winterlicious. Cod cakes: fish tasted fresh and well-seasoned, covered by crispy crumb, flavored by creme sauce, recommended. Steak tartare: compared to the tartare, I was more interested in those little pickled mushrooms. Duck breast & ravioli: the breast was well-cooked. Each piece comes with skin and fat, combined with the red duck meat, tastes pretty good. The ravioli underneath was fantastic. Filled with spinach and shredded duck meat, mixed with their special sauce, deliciousss. Rabbit tagliatelle: rabbit was delicious; pasta tasted hard, not my type. Eclairs: little pastries cooled down my stomach. Chocolate mousse was smooth and silky, with cream and chocolate syrup, yum. Apple crepes: same as I expected. Cinnamon oat crumble and sugared apple, so-so but was still good. Service was great, not disturbing. Servers described dishes patiently. Casual ambient made, pretty relaxing.

Yelp
Had a group dinner here recently and enjoyed the experience. The food was great and well prepared. The deserts were outstanding. The service was unobtrusive and definitely friendly - but not very attentive. One of us asked to pair a wine to their food, and a glass of white was brought out without any consultation whatsoever. Weird. The wine list here is really something else by the way. Very impressive and some bottles outrageously expensive. The wines by the glass have a pretty steep starting price. I had a ragout which was delicious. One of us had the sous-vide scallops (learned something new) and everyone enjoyed their meals. For desert we had a cheese platter (most of them really excellent) but one of the cheeses we chose was missing - not very good for a place like this.

Yelp
Mark you need a new Manager. Great food but horrible service. Sat at the bar on August 30th at 12:00 for a burger.

Yelp
In the heart of the financial district in Toronto, one can find delicious food everywhere. Bymark definitely follows suit. Around the corner from Mark McEwans other places, Bymark struts a beautiful patio with great hosts and a killer menu, plus their beer list is approved. Octopus appetizer was perfection. The 40 dolla burger was everything I expected plus delicious chipotle dipping sauce for the fries. Burger's topped with mushrooms that were prepared impeccably and brie topped it off. Quite the luxurious burg experience. You eat with your eyes and I left with all of my senses smiling.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went here for Winterlicious lunch as an early valentine's day celebration. We both got the Tuna Tartare for apps. I got the Duck Confit for my main and the Wildflower lemon grass cheesecake for dessert. My boyfriend got the lamb pasta and the sticky toffee donut. We both loved the Tuna tartare! It was beautifully presented and the flavour was well balanced. It was light and fresh, a perfect start to the meal. I was quite surprised at the portion of my main. it came with a full leg and a half breast piece. The puree provided complimented the duck quite well, however it did get a bit salty towards the end. The lamb pasta had a good portion of flavourful braised lamb and just the right amount of sauce. The wildflower cheesecake dessert was an excellent way to end the meal. It had a good balance of tartness and sweetness. The toffee donut was quite pleasant as well. It was definitely a heavy filling dessert. The servers were quick, polite and observant. Overall we had an amazing experience. We look forward to returning sometime for Summer/Winterlicious in the future!

Yelp
It's pricey so I only go during Summerlicious or Winterlicious times but I'll go back every year as the menu will change and surprise me. I had the cold soup which was very refreshing in the summer. The soup gets added to the bowl at the table so fried onions chips won't get soggy. The Sous Vide lamb shoulder and dumplings was very rich in flavour as they were slow cooked for 48 hours. I had the chocolate bar for dessert. I liked the crunchiness of the bar. The server dumped a bit of the cold soup onto my purse and my seat so that was the only dissatisfaction this time.

Yelp
Went for wintericious and the food was very good. The bone marrow and escargot starter was subtle, rich and delicious beefy goodness. The scallop and crab ravioli was a bit too salty but the flavours were still enjoyable. The caramel apple cheese cake was amazing. There was bits of toffee/caramel crumble inside to provide a crunch. The overall experience was very enjoyable, the staff was friendly and accommodating, the restaurant is dimly lit and the tables are very intimate.

Yelp
I cannot tell you how disappointing of a visit this was for a restaurant that is run by a celebrity chef. So to be fair I am a vegan attending a work function going to a meat centric restaurant. I assumed like most upscale places and the fact that it's 2021 that perhaps there might be something off menu for vegans. I was terribly, terribly wrong. When I consulted with my waiter he informed me that some accommodations could be made to some menu items. I asked him about making salads vegan to which he said it was not possible (this tells me the salads are all pre-made). I then began asking him for suggestions hoping he would have something more enlightened than what was on the menu but he did not. Instead he informed me the only vegan item they had was the Impossible Burger if I got it with no bun or in a lettuce wrap. This was the only vegan option. The meal consisted of an impossible burger patty charred, diced dressed beets on the side and a small side kale salad all for the ridiculous price of $24. If you are boasting yourself as a chef I'm having a hard time taking you seriously if this is your offering at a price that's easily inflated by 6 times the cost of the meal. The other big red flag for me was the amount of items that couldn't be modified (pre-made). While the cocktail and drinks menu are impressive the actual drinks themselves are passable at best. Not bad, but nothing to write home about either especially for the price. I do want to say that the rest of the party seemed happy with their meals but honestly the meals were very basic but sounded like they were prepared well. When I say basic I mean when you order a menu item it's generally just that. Another thing that I found odd is many people in my party were here for the steaks but when they attempted to order them the waiter informed them that the burgers were actually so much better and that they weren't known for their steaks but rather their burgers (I'm not sure they are aware but most of their marketing has been about their steaks). Overall the layout seemed very confusing as the establishment is split over 2 levels of a building and no one was checking for vaccination status or even monitoring where people were going (or at least in the area we were). The top floor was well ventilated but not heated very well as many of the heat lamps were either off or not working and placed nowhere near our party so we ate with our coats on. I'm sure some would disagree with me but I can't honestly even fathom giving this place one star. It's overpriced with little to no effort. There are many many many superior places in the city that don't inflate their prices. Just to address the elephant in the room I didn't pay for this dinner and have many times paid similar prices for meals and was happy about it because the meal actually offered me a unique experience of some kind, something I wouldn't be able to easily replicate myself at home. Unfortunately the Bymark is not that. It's something that misses the mark by a lot.

Yelp
The food was delicious, the atmosphere was inviting and the service was perfect. The ONLY issue we had was with the table layout. We had a hard time talking across the table .... Easily fixed tho.

Yelp
Bymark never fails to disappoint me. Their striploin is so tender and flavourful. The cod is cooked to perfection and goes really well with the sides. Desserts are okay. Great customer service and beautiful restaurant.

Yelp
It was really packed here for a weekday lunch! So many suits and professionals dining together that it was actually a little bit loud. Since it was am upscale spot, the lighting was dim and set the mood for a classy and intimate lunch venue. I really liked the Lobster Grilled Cheese Sandwich! The bread was toasted with butter and the chunks of lobster were substantial. There was a slice of pancetta with the aged brie too which gave it some saltiness. The first few bites were salty for this reason but the lobster was really succulent and delicious. What I also liked were their lemon garlic aioli that went so well with the fries. The tempura onion ring was actually really good too. It was like a seasoned battered onion ring. It was cute that they put the fries into the hole of the onion ring; it was like an onion ring basket with fries in it. After one half of the sandwich plus all of the fries and onion ring, I was already stuffed. It was really filling! I asked for my half to be packed away. The 72 Hours Sous Vide Beef Brisket Sandwich was like a Korean style sandwich to me; almost like a bamh mi with kimchi.

Yelp
I went to Bymark for last year's Summerlicious, but that didn't deter me from coming back again. Why? Because I immediately noticed that the famous Bymark burger was on their Winterlicious lunch menu! There was a lot of hype around this gourmet burger, priced at a whopping $35 on their regular lunch menu! Personally, I would never pay $35 for a burger, but I didn't mind trying it for $25 when the deal included an appetizer and dessert! My boyfriend ordered a fancy version of a caesar salad- Romaine hearts with honey smoked bacon, oven cured tomatoes, reggiano, and caesar vinaigrette. It was lighter than the usual caesar salad and wasn't heavily dressed. All the girls, myself included, opted for crispy crab cakes with celery root & apple remoulade. The crab cake was pretty tasty. I would've liked more of that remoulade, for that artistic smear was not nearly enough for two crab cakes. I did, however, very much enjoyed that refreshing vegetable slaw. It had a great crunch and paired well with the fried crab cake. Most of us ordered the famous Bymark 8 oz U.S.D.A. Prime Burger with brie de meaux and grilled king mushroom! It was definitely a sizable burger! I was so excited to cut my burger open and see that it came out perfectly rare! The quality of the beef was excellent, and the juicy patty was definitely the star of the burger. In contrast, the toppings were rather lackluster. The cheese and mushroom were nice, but they weren't enough to elevate the burger. Some people might prefer the simplicity to let the beef patty shine, but I was really craving for some sort of sweetness. Perhaps adding caramelized onions would've helped. Overall, I enjoyed this gourmet burger, but I would still never pay $35 for it. I think that there are affordable burgers out there that are comparable to the quality of this one. One of my friends ordered the pasta instead- pappardelle and braised rabbit with winter vegetables, tossed in a grainy mustard sauce. I took a few bites from her pasta and I thought that the mustard sauce was delicious. The sweetness of the sauce certainly worked well with the rabbit and the pappardelle. As well, the rabbit was quite tender. This dish would've been a great alternative had I not set my eyes on the burger. For dessert, my friends ordered the apple crostata with caramel crunch ice cream. The crostata was like a free-form apple pie, so naturally, it was an immediate hit. The general complaint was that the pastry on the outside was overly dry and thick, but other than that, we all enjoyed the dessert. My boyfriend opted for an orange Nanaimo brownie with toasted meringue. The two bites that I stole were really, really good! Normally, I don't like pairing citrus with chocolate (I hate chocolate oranges), but here, the two components worked strangely well together. I would order this brownie again for myself if I see it on their menu in the future. I picked the homiest dessert of all- gingerbread cake with sweet potato mousse and maple walnut fudge. Gingerbread, sweet potato, maple, and walnut are all favours that I adore, so it was an obvious choice for me. The cake was very moist and tasted delicious with the creamy mousse, but I couldn't really taste the sweet potato in the mousse. The cubes of maple walnut fudge were adorable, and their tiny size was perfect for such a rich concoction. Overall, I enjoyed my dessert, but I wish all the flavours were more intense- especially the gingerbread and sweet potato mousse. On the whole, I enjoyed my lunch at Bymark more than my first experience. The burger was good, though perhaps not the best burger I've ever had. Nevertheless, it was definitely a good deal for Winterlicious.

Yelp
This is my second time going to Bymark. Tried winterlicious lunch sat at the booth with a really nice dome shaped roof. Beautiful ambience and loved the presentation of the food. The food was great but the salmon was a little bit cold/over cooked. The service was good.

Yelp
I was this restaurant today for a group lunch. The service was excellent and that is what my star is for. I am a vegan and notified the restaurant in advance, as I always do when going to restaurants. When I saw that the fish dish that a fellow diner ordered had beans, I was optimistic. But alas, the optimism was shattered when my "meal" of limited mixed vegetables arrived in inedible parchment. There were no beans, no quinoa, no nuts, no rice etc... Besides lacking in caloric and nutritional value, the taste was awful. How can a restaurant with a trained chef think that this is a proper vegan meal. Will not return, will not recommend. With a growing plant-based movement I would think that Bymark would get on board.

Yelp
I came here for the highly praised burger. When I sat down I was fairly shocked by the price of the burger ... about $37 before tax!!! That was the most expensive burger I've ever had. It was an 8 ounce beef burger with a bunch of fancy toppings and a side of onion rings. However once I had a bite of the burger, I realized exactly why the burger was so expensive. I could instantly tell that the cut of the beef was of high quality beef. The toppings they used were very fresh and blended well together. The burger lived up to the hype and the price. I'm still going to only give this a 4/5 because when I want a burger , I Usually want a greasy gross burger , not a gourmet styled. So I'm biased on my burger types :)

Yelp
Was never interested in Bymark nor was I planning to book summerlicious but I was curious and took a look. They had an opening when I called in a few hours before I was planning to go to lunch so there I went. It's accessible through the path and there are stairs leading up to a bar and patio though I'm not sure if that's just a bar or if you can eat there. Since it's in the same level as the path, there are no windows and it's pretty dim in the restaurant. The booth is really comfy though, so comfy that I wanted to take it home. Between two people, we got the pea soup, tuna tartare, beef brisket, sea bream, chocolate profiterole and coconut rice pudding. We basically split everything. Honestly, I just expected Bymark to be like Canoe, overhyped with okay food but most of the dishes was executed very well. Pea soup was solid and it was cute that it came in a pot and was then poured into my bowl at the table. Tuna tartare was good but most tuna tartares I've had are. Originally, I wanted the brisket but I didn't want us to have the same mains so I went with sea bream instead. Hot deal. Not saying the brisket wasn't good (because it was) but I just prefer the fish dish. Fish was juicy, flavours were good, and I liked the Israeli couscous much more than regular couscous. Most disappointing part of the meal was the dessert the rice was very hard in the coconut rice pudding. The chocolate profiterole was delicious though. Not a huge chocolate fan so I'm always afraid chocolate desserts will be too much and really sweet but it was neither. My favourite part wasn't a chocolate component though, it was the honeycombs. Service was really good. Our server was hilarious and attentive. My friend slipped in that my birthday was close and they wrote happy birthday on my dessert and gave me a candle. Love it when they add a candle (and totally die when it's a sparkler).

Yelp
I chose Bymark for a work dinner because of its location (nestled in the business district and close to the convention Center). It was so nice to walk into a warm and contemporary ambiance and escape the hustling and bustling of the rush hour traffic. The food was awesome, from the drinks to the appetizers to the desserts! The drinks are a bit on the pricey side...but worth trying. I tried the "hello Neuman", which was Jameson based with vanilla syrup, smoke and ash bitters served with a s'mores on top!! The smoke and ash bitters tweaked my interest. The s'mores was a surprise! It was almost like an old fashioned, so good! The chef prepared an amazing vegetarian main dish, which wasn't on the menu. Israeli couscous with grilled veggies and mint yogurt. Every bite was flavourful and well done. I'm usually one to skip dessert but given how good the drink and mains were it was hard not to try the dessert! I tried the carrot cake, very different from a typical carrot cake. This was light and fluffy with candied carrots, which totally enhanced the carrot flavours of the cake. Definitely worth going to, even if it's for a drink!

Yelp
4.5 stars Went for summerlicious. The food was tasty with a lot of flavour. I enjoyed the deconstructed strawberry shortcake dessert. Their mixed berry juice was amazing but would have been perfect with some alcohol :). Service was incredibly great compared to other high end restaurants I've been to. I would love to come try their regular menu. Only thing I disliked was the dark lighting in the inside of the restaurant.

Yelp
Don't waste your time and money, McEwan's restaurants are essentially the equivalent of a Milestones, with higher prices and less consistency. Boring food in boring spaces. I was dragged here for a family member's birthday and despite having dined at One (bland) and Fabbrica (hilariously bad), I was still shocked at how dismal the experience was. Ordered my steak medium rare and it came out well done, burrata was overwhelmed by cherry tomato, and my mom's pasta was so far past al dente she basically ate around it. There are so many great chefs in Toronto, Mark McEwan is not one of them.

Yelp
Bymark have always been one of my favourite spots in terms of ambiance, location and food. I came here last night for Winterlicious, I find the hamachi sashimi lacks flavour. I didn't really enjoy it. The texture of the roasted duck was a bit tough. The chocolate mousse tart tasted pretty good. It was the best out of the three course. I think over all the quality went down. It wasn't as good as it used to be..

Yelp
Recently came here for a Winterlicious lunch and was impressed by the food and service. One of our guests were late, but they quickly brought out his appetizer and got his main dish out with the rest of ours. Look forward to trying their regular menu.
