One of my favourite bars in Melbourne with such unique cocktail flavour combinations! Every time I come here they always start off with some sort of complimentary palette cleanser/snack which I love. The staff are super knowledgeable about the menu and their recommendations are always on point. Cocktails not only taste good they’re also presented very well. Highly recommend this spot to anyone who loves their cocktails

Visited in Oct 2025 A visit to Byrdi had long been on my list given its reputation and rankings in the World’s top bars list for the last few years. Finally made it here during my recent trip to MEL. My friends and I did not have a reservation but were able to get a table in 5 mins. Upon arriving, we were given a small shot of a complementary drink which I thought was a very nice gesture. We ended up trying 6 cocktails, 3 from their seasonal menu and 3 from their seasoned (all time hits) menu. My favs among the 6 were the Halftime Oranges from the seasonal menu and the Vinegar Stroke from the seasoned menu. However I felt that the overall experience was a bit underwhelming for me personally given the cocktail experiences I’ve had in other World & Asia Top 100 bars. Service was good. No issues on that front at all. Overall, I think this is a very decent bar, and definitely one of the best in Australia. But I am not sure if it’s a World Top 100 bar.

tasty and inventive cocktails in a cozy space and would be top tier if not for the price and service. portions were tiny for $30 drinks and service was inconsistent depending on the server. one of the servers spilled my drink and also didn’t explain the items as served, meanwhile, the other would go into detail which we appreciated. poor service left bad taste in my mouth. fig leaf: crisp, refreshing. fav drink! new peas old brandy: also tasty but a little forgettable army & navy: unique, creamy, rich! would recommend avocado: bitter, creamy. didn’t enjoy.

A very good looking venue with an amazing concept, and very welcoming staff!! The Atmosphere took a little hit because of the awkward location of this venue. Being at one of the entrances for Melbourne Central there were a couple of weird people that walked past the venue while we had our drinks and that's not the best when you're trying to have a chill night. The drinks actually tasted really good, the only downsides were that they cost $30 each and were very small portions, I understand it is all eco-friendly and zero waste but personally it was just too expensive for me. On the money topic, my partner and I ordered their side of chips that cost $12 and it was a bowl of packaged chips, a little underwhelming for the venue we were at. It's a nice venue to have a drink or maybe two on a night out!!

LOVE this place! From their interior, welcoming staffs, lighting, prep area, to their menu, everything was meticulous. I've walked pass them so many times and I'm glad I finally walked in to try their drinks. Their concept is local ingredients. Each of the drinks they make are very interestingly designed. One that I ordered focused on honey. The drink came with a bee pollen ice cream that tasted like golden gaytime. Very well made. I also tried another one that had yogurt snow which was made with liquid nitrogen. To me this place's cocktails are quite playful. The staffs were so nice. That's an extra point.

I’ve been a few times now and my experience is mixed, While the drinks are quite good they are on the pricery side but that’s okay for their Quaility. No compliants there they are some of the better drinks you can find in the cbd. My biggest issue came at service, while my first time my server was an amazing and interactive man from Canada. But every time since then has been worse and worse. Another issue is that they charge for quite simple things. Such as (tapped) sparkling water when majority of places do not. 5 dollars per person feels quite high especially when they don’t state it. I let that slide and didn’t order it again but the last time we went my friend asked for warm water to aid their stomach which they also charged for!!! This felt incredibly outrages. Will you charge us to breathe next? Frankly while I enjoyed my initial experience here there’s plenty of amazing bars in the CBD and even more if you’re willing to travel.

Just fantastic! Excellent cocktails that change with the seasons ingredients on offer. I think it's better than the trendy/institutions around the area. The decor in very moody "Australian" vibe. Very attention to detail, but not pretentious. Staff were friendly, genuine and knowledgeable about the menu. It should be packed every night, but a quarter full when we went on a Friday night, which was quite mind-boggling. I think the location is off putting because it's attached to a mall with no door to separate you from drinking your cocktail to those shopping and get their groceries in the area.

Great experience at Byrdi! Cocktails were all so different and unique, amazing staff that were all very knowledgeable. The prawn toast was delicious! In hindsight I wish we had booked for the multiple set course option, but the bar option was still great being able to sit while the bartender talked through the different drinks! Will be trying the set menu option next time I’m in town!
