Small but very interesting to explore and learn about the intricacies of the Cretan history of the museum. The opportunity to see monuments from the Byzantine era, the Venetian state and later is very appealing to the imagination.

This Byzantine Museum Collection was fascinating, the collection of artefacts that date back between 400-800AD is astounding. €5 entry on the door as of May 2025 - €10 well spent for me & my wife. Photos are aloud with discretion/respect and NO flash! Highly recommend visiting if the tumultuous history of Kriti (Crete) is of interest to you! Long live Crete 🇬🇷⛪️

This is a very small museum with a very specific focus. If you're interested in the Byzantine and post Byzantine history of the period it's worth a visit.

A small but nice museum with frescos and coins. The frescos are primarily done in the Cretan school rather than traditional Byzantine. Their coin collection to on includes coins from Justinian, Constans II, and Constantine the Great.

Small museum at the harbour end of Theokopopoulous Street. Excellent history summaries, a couple of lovely St George iconography.

An interesting museum consisting of historical items mainly from the Byzantine era of rule over Chania. Items exhibited include chards of pottery, metallic objects, coins, wallpaintings from churches and a mosaic floor, all with displays describing the items. The entrance fee is 3€ so I would recommend any history interested people to visit the museum.

Very well done small museum in a beautiful old structure.
