This hotel is just a few steps from the Firenze S.M.N. train station, which makes it very convenient if you're arriving and departing by train. There is also a tram stop at the station, so you can get to most other parts of the city easily. The hotel room was very modern, nicely designed and well appointed--although I wish I'd taken the suggestion of the gentleman at the front desk when I checked in and upgraded to a larger room, because the economy room was quite tight for us as a couple. The buffet breakfast is excellent--a great variety of hot and cold foods, including vegetables, and excellent pastries. But what really sets this hotel apart is the service from the staff...we felt like we were their only guest! (We weren't.) Ambra, the resident manager, contacted me by WhatsApp before we arrived so that I had her number in case we needed anything. Then she welcomed us in person and saw us to our room. We saw her several other times during our two-day stay, and each time she greeted us with a smile and called us BY NAME! The amazing thing was, she was doing this for all the other guests as well. Really, every person on the Joy Hotel staff that we encountered made us feel like we were valued and important. It's the kind of service you would expect at a Ritz-Carlton property, but rarely see elsehwere. We would most definitely stay here again if we were making a short visit to Florence!
