Interesting food serving concept where burger and fries and send through tubes to the seats their patrons. The interior design of the eatery was also rather unique, colonial and artistic. The coffee also packed a punch. Would recommend coming here at least once to try it out.

Lots of seats available at brunch on Friday. Coffee was great. Chill atmosphere. Fries delivered old school via delivery tube. Moroccan chicken pie was tasty n good portion. Expresso martini was excellent. Servers were friendly and helpful

It’s a pretty expensive outing but super fun to experience the pneumatic tubes delivering your food. Very alternative menu items also available. Getting water is a novelty & they have still and sparkling options. Super icon venue. Toilets are fun behind the library wall & there are old school games in the venue plus a fun magazine style menu.

C1 Espresso in Christchurch is not your average café — it’s a full-on experience. Known for its creativity and quirkiness, this café stands out with its pneumatic tube delivery system, which shoots sliders and curly fries through clear overhead pipes straight to your table. It’s like being in a Willy Wonka coffee factory, and kids (and adults) absolutely love it. The food is solid, with generous portions and a menu that mixes café classics with fun twists. Their curly fries, served in a retro-style container, are golden and crispy, and pair perfectly with their gourmet burgers or sliders. Coffee is strong, smooth, and roasted in-house — perfect for the Christchurch caffeine connoisseur. The vibe is relaxed yet buzzing, with a mix of locals and tourists soaking in the industrial-meets-steampunk décor. The staff are usually friendly and upbeat, even when it’s busy. There’s plenty of space, and the high ceilings make it feel open and airy. All in all, C1 is one of those must-visit spots in Christchurch — not just for the coffee, but for the experience. Whether you’re there for brunch, coffee, or just to see fries fly through the air, it’s a unique, fun café that delivers on both taste and atmosphere.

Absolutely obsessed with their Ethiopian coffee beans. Awesome food, great value for money and super friendly staff. Sweets cabinet has some delicious goodies and the vibe is always on point.

Situated in a historical post office building, re-purposed as a cozy cafe. Love the vibes. Breakfast menu is till 11am sharp! I would recommend the eggs benedict. Limited lunch menu but there's something for everyone. Order and pay at the counter. For a unique dining experience, order a dish that states delivered pneumatic delivery. Your food is encased in a capsule and "shot" from the kitchen through tubes above u and delivered at various delivery points! Unique experience. Food was not of a big portion (else it can't fit into the capsule) but it was tasty. Try to find the water dispenser machine, an old sewing machine redesign to dispense water. And try to find the door for the toilet. Affogato was a decent portion and was delicious. Overall a cafe worth visiting.

It was an impressive cafe, very kid-friendly which is great for parents, but maybe not ideal for those without kids. The table I sat at was too close to the toy machine, which sometimes made it hard to have a conversation. Also, the table was sticky, and I noticed some fries inside the tube, which made me a bit concerned about cleanliness. But they're open until late so it’s good to have a chat before or after dinner.

Such a cool and interesting cafe. There is lots of interactive things to do. The food itself was good and reasonably priced. I would say it’s a bit of a small portion but apart from that it was great.
