Cabana Curmătura

The views are amazing. The staff is very friendly too. The problem is that everything related to “hygiene” is out of the house, and the perimeter, so if you need to use the toilet, you have to go out, walk and use what you are going to see in the pictures… 😬 Also if you want to take a shower, wash your hands or brush your teeth. It is not useful for all these necessities to be that far from where you sleep (imagine if you need to pee in the middle of the night: you have to get dressed in a room with 10 other people, get out in the cold and walk to the portable WC, and do all of that back). The dining area is confortable, and the orange car very friendly.

Amazing experience with an incredible view. The food served is good for the location and the free camping was appreciated. We felt very safe here and would recommend :)

Great views, warm and clean rooms, ok food. Loud and beautiful dogs, bear footprints close by. Gorgeous surroundings

I have not stayed there, only a hike till there but had a hot beans soup it was tasty as it also has stunning views

We spent two nights in our tents, I believe it was the best available “room”. Big thanks to host, the place is really great: 1. Good location 2. Breathtaking views 3. Tasty food (not really expensive) 4. Nice and kind personal 5. Access to internet if you want to share photos from this place 6. Drinkable water Some nuance you need to know: 1. There is a shower, but with a cold water :) for me it was ok (energising shower in the morning!) 2. There are 4 cats (nice and beautiful), so be aware who has an allergic reaction 3. There is a grass, so be aware about ticks If Romania will create more such shelters for tourists, I believe it will become a favourite place for some people…

According to the website, only food is currently available. Does this mean that overnight stays (not in a tent) are not possible at the moment?

We have camped there. There is a fox that steals food from tents if it is not properly stored (in trees), but otherwise it's a great place to camp, to eat, to watch the Perseides.

A very good place to stay overnight or to eat! This is a place that, despite being in the middle of nowhere, is very well provisioned and with very lovely people. There are some sockets and there are places to charge your phone but otherwise there is not much else. Running water is in the form of two taps outside but there is very good WiFi and signal. There is a shower but it uses cold water and (like the toilets) is found outside. There is a good choice of food, for breakfast and for dinner - there is a choice of drinks from water to beer. I recommend wholeheartedly! To sleep, it is about 60 lei or 12 euros a night and you can sleep in a room with beds and a blanket as shown in the pictures. It is warm and clean. I absolutely recommend this place, at night there are many stars that can be seen and during the day, the views are great. It is a perfect break for hikers or visitors of all kinds!
