Cabañas El Engaño

There are absolutely no negative aspects about this place. Nice and quiet location, although out of town, but that was exactly what we wanted. Super nice staff, modern individual town houses, good quality mattresses and linens, good hot shower, fast wifi, everything very clean and new. There's also a good restaurant on premises, Chilean fare. We definitely recommend it for a couple and two children.

The small cabins here are located right on the banks of the Lago General Carrera, just protected from the wind by a row of sand dunes. They are built by master craftsman Peter, who is also the owner of El Engano and runs this place with his charming wife with a smile and hospitility. The cabins are of top quality and build, spacious with two bedrooms, excellent wifi, TV and a functional kitchen. The attached Cantalicia restaurant serves good food, wine and pisco sour. At 90,000 a night he cabins are value for money for a family of 4.

El Engano is an interesting complex of cabanas and small houses, some of which have only recently been completed. The standard of accommodation is very high. The new cabin that we stayed in was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped with kitchen facilities. Breakfast was somewhat limited and was delivered to the cabins the night before. There is a central reception area with barbecue facilities and the owners were very welcoming and helpful. The complex is situated some way out of town along an unmade road on the shore of the lake and might be difficult to find, especially if arriving at night. If staying more than overnight a vehicle is probably necessary.

This is a gorgeous place, located by the shores of the Carrara Lake in Chile, just in the borderline with Argentina.||The cabanas itself are super modern style and look more like a town houses. ||Construction is very recent, and some more are under construction.||These units are very clean, small but comfy. May be the only criticism is that upstairs are 2 bedrooms, but the bathroom is downstairs.||The lower floor has a small open kitchen that ends in a living room where the stair land.||The space below the stair has been used to accommodate a Coach – bed. ||The place is nice for a short stay. Parking is by the unit you rented. All units are surrounded by a garden. The gentle owner is always around to assist you with your needs. ||On premises there is a restaurant open daily for dinner. Name is CANTALICIO.||We eat there once. Food was very good. There is Pastas, Salads some Meat and of course Fish and Beer and Wine. Price in dollars are cheap.

I stayed in this hotel on a small group trip to Patagonia. The hotel is really a collection of small houses. My accommodation was lovely and comfortable. It is a bit out of town but in a lovely location. Our hosts went out of their way to be friendly and helpful, even providing a BBQ for the group. I would definitely recommend it.

We arrived late - 10.00pm - but were still met with a warm welcome. The individual bungalows were very well appointed and a walk along the nearby beach in the morning was fabulous. The owners were attentive and the grounds were full with interesting sculptures they had made.

This well designed small houses looks like oasis after trip to Patagonia argentina. Unfortunately, public information absent and location not easy to find without previous maps or internet reviews. Nice cabanas with a different colors for furniture and lines. Hot water, gas and all equipment function well. Hot bathes are possible with a 6-hours pre order.

Really quite well equipped and modern. I stayed in a unit attached to other units on each side. The 2 bedrooms are up stairs. At night to use the toilet you must go down the stairs which are steep and narrow. Noise was the other problem. Children running banging scraping chairs until after midnight. Reasonable breakfast but at significant extra cost. The walls are thin. There are stand alone units of one floor. Choose one of them. Location is such you must have transport
