Cabinas Iguana Cahuita

Great place to spend a few nights relaxing. The rooms are basic but comfortable. They could clean them a little bit better, as there are many insects. The kitchen is well-equipped but a little small when there is a big family, for example. The swimming pool is wonderful, as are the owners. If you're lucky, you have a great chance of spotting a sloth.

We stayed here for two weeks and were happy with the establishment. The room & bathroom were cleaned regulary. The pool was a joy! Hot water worked. The place itself is like a national park. We saw a lot of animals, from agoutis, iguanas, toucans, a lot of colorful different birds, various frogs, and sloth! And the star is the manager on field, Fernando, who had been very kind & attentive to us from the beginning until the end. Thank you so much for this experience! 🤍

Room had termites eggs, dead insects, old trash, dust everywhere, spider webs and a few small alive spiders as well. It was clear that this place has not been properly cleaned in a long period of time. The only things that were clearly clean were the bedsheets, towels and mopped floor. We asked Sofia to clean but she replied in a rude and dismissive manner saying that this is not her duty and that it was clean enough for what we pay, we even suggested to help her with the cleaning. We ended up having to buy our own cleaning products to clean the room.

Only staying 2 days, grounds ate beautiful, pool awesome, cabin C is fine. small kitchen, all kinds of animals. Nice place.

The Cabinas Iguana in Cahuita have been a Highlight of our vacation. We loved the family friendly atmosphere, the wonderful pool, beautiful garden and the close beach. Everything was in close proximity and the hosts are exceptionally friendly and helpful. We can highly recommend this place!

I stayed here for a week with a big group of friends and our families. There was wonderful flora and fauna around the cabinas, we saw monkeys, birds, frogs and so much more. Everything was great and Sofia and Martin were very helpful organising what we needed. The cabins were clean with a good supply of towels and sheets. The pool and shared areas were brilliant. The Cabinas are close to Playa Negra and a 15 minute walk to town. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you Sofia and Martin.

Stayed here a few years ago. Just an awesome place. One of the staff left us bananas hanging for us to eat while we were there. Cant wait to stay there again

I very much enjoyed my stay at Cabinas Iguana Cahuita. For the price, this was a great place in a great location. Pros: -We stayed in a guesthouse that was very spacious with a great kitchen -Location was great for birds and animals: Sitting on the front-porch I saw a lot of different bird species, lizards. A sloth even showed up on a nearby tree (see picture) -Quick walk to a very nice beach and restaurants -Owners were nice, helpful and check-in was quick. We had a problem with hot-water and they got it fixed right away. Cons: -The lighting inside the cottage was very, very dim. As nice as everything else was, being inside after the sun went down was really gloomy. The interior was entirely lit by a few small lamps. -WiFi, when it would connect, was very slow
