This has been a great stay. Our room may have been one of the larger ones from what people have said. It was clean and pleasant. Watch out for dislodging the curtain rails when you close the curtains. They are just through hooks. Aircon made things very comfortable at night. Loved the decorated paths and use of the kitchenette. Made getting a cuppa in the evenings so easy and nice. Some of our group also made their own breakfasts. Cheerful staff. People talk about the rules, but honestly it's fine. Just being respectful in someone else's place cover's it. Nice location and vibe.

So we got Room #3, it was tight, half of the outlets worked, the sheets were yellow, the shower was hard to control as the temperature would fluctuate. It wasn’t exactly what the pictures showed or what I read in the reviews. We chocked it up as fair since we checked in late and it’s still a great location at a great price.

I've been staying in hostels so just be warned my standards aren't high. But my room was nice, no AC but multiple fans positioned at good spots around the room made it fine. Bed comfy. Water pressure in the bathroom food. Private porch area in my room great for laying on the hammock when it rained. Shared kitchenette had a fridge and coffee maker and sink. Location great as well, super walkable.

The location is great as it is in the centre of Puerto Viejo. Our room was really small and felt a little bit like a cell. It is very functional but, in our opinion, that’s all.

Can't believe this hotel received such a high score. We stayed there in March 2025 and were given a terrible room just off the reception area. All others in our group were given rooms with a small outdoor patio and hammock in a gardened area. We asked for a different room and were told they were sold out. Beds were uncomfortable. Barely saw any staff after we checked in. Even when you rang the bell at the reception desk during business hours, no one came to help. Would definitely not recommend.

Great location for town. Situated a few blocks behind main drag.|A little oasis with inviting mosaic pathway meandering to all rooms.|Extremely simplistic, quirky rooms. Air con was an additional charge of $30.|We encountered an ant 🐜 problem in our room. We arent adverse and fully expect these things when staying in cabins but they were all over the bed during the day. Bathroom was ok. the sink literally came away from the wall. (Room 7) Cleaniness in our room could have been better - lots of cobwebs for authenticity. On the upside, We did have water though even when the whole town didn't for a day. |

Stayed here as part of GAdventures tour. Very rustic and ramshackle dated accommodation and rooms. Place smelt of marijuana. Floor of upper level room was uneven and moved when walking across the floor. Steps up to second level were steep, narrow and uneven/tilted. Awkward to navigate with luggage. No evidence of smoke detectors or fire alarms. Beds a bit too firm for comfort. Water pressure was good in shower and temp nice and warm. AC and ceiling fan worked well. Room safe was good to have. Lots of neighbourhhod noise such as traffic, dogs barking, music and voices can be heard through screened bathroom window and walls with minimun sound proofing. No restaurant on site and no room fridges. Easy walk to beach restaurants, shops and supermarkets.

Great location right in the middle of everything You're surrounded by nature. Very beautiful and picturesque. However, the rooms could be a little more modernized with updated furniture or at least the linen The staff was great. The place was well maintained Nice quaint place. I would recommend it. I just would updated and modernize the furniture and add some special touches like cleaning the ceiling fan and the spider webs flowers on the table
