Cabinas Monte Sol

I had a really nice stay with my partner here. The common space is beautiful. Our private room with bathroom was clean and comfortable, with a small terrace that included a hammock and a little table. I also love their dog Coco who is the most adorable thing and is the first one to greet guests. The location is so close to the center, but without all of the noise pollution. Would definitely come back!

Clean and very comfortable room. Small private terrace with table, chairs and hammock. Set back from the main road so there is no noise at night. The reception is not open much but we didn’t have an issue with that. The location is very good. Just a short walk to the centre, max 5 mins. Bakery and pizza place at the end of the street are very nice!

Nice spacious rooms, friendly owners, quiet area and nice balcony However closing times of the reception were a little bit odd since we wanted to fill up our water bottle and everything was sealed shut at 7. I think they could utilize the beautiful common space more by creating a bar with nice music etc.

We stayed here over New Year's and thought it was perfect. Lovely rooms, perfectly clean and very close to town yet far away enough to enjoy a quiet night of sleep. We didn't mind the shared bathrooms as we only shared with one other room. The owner is so friendly and helpful and even made me tea and soup when I was feeling poorly. If you are after a clean and beautiful guesthouse but don't want to spend too much then this is the perfect choice.

We stayed for 5 nights here, and we had a great experience. The location is great, close to everything but you have te jungle feeling, every day we heared the Hollar monkeys. ||||The owner Peter and his wife are great people. They were very friendly and helped is out with a lot of stuf, even things were a lot owners would charge money for, or had a string attechet by booking something with a friend of them.||||So if you come to Puerto Viejo stay here, and when you come with 2 small Children like us, book the bungalow.

Monte Sol is a great guest house run by a very nice family. We stayed twice during Christmas and New Year's Eve, in different rooms. Both the first room with a private bathroom and the room with shared bathroom were great. The rooms, the shared bathroom and the common area were always clean. The guest house is located near the town centre on a quiet street, far from the main road so we didn't hear any car or truck noise and had a good night sleep. ||||The tap water in Puerto Viejo is not drinkable, so we appreciated Monte Sol provides filtered water for guests.||||Great place to stay and good value for money. We can highly recommend Monte Sol!

Friendly family will welcome you giving all sort of info and help you as much as they can. Location is perfect, far from the music, but not that far from be able to walk to town, plus is located just 50 meters from the bast bakery in town, big plus when you don't have to queue all the mornings. Rooms are.ok, bit small and not much noise privacy, the housekeeper is really nice snd they clean basically every day. Recomended

Nice place, clean and easy going. Peter and his family are really cool and welcoming. |We had a private room with shared bathroom and toilets. There is no shared kitchen and no meals served at the place. Many different bars and restaurants are very close as is the beach. Easy walking distance to go to PV downtown. Rent a bicycle and then it is very easy to go to all the different spots that need to be discovered around!|Good place if you like cats and dogs because there are plenty!|Apart from the crazy noisy center of Puerto Viejo, you can hear all nights birds and howling monkeys. Our room upstairs was close to another one, so it can be good for 2 couples or a family to rent the 2 rooms because you can basically hear everything that is happening in the next room. |Our room had mosquito nets and a fan. |Good vibes at Cabinas Monte Sol!
