Cabinas Tropicales

I can’t recommend this place enough! The rooms are clean with air con, fans, comfy beds and clean towels. However it is the host, Juancarlos who made it stand out for me. Upon arriving on the bus, having never been to Puerto Jiménez, I was unsure how safe it would be for me to walk to the hotel alone as a solo female traveller. Juancarlos offered to pick me up himself and then sent a female taxi driver to collect me which he paid for to put me at ease. This was such a kind gesture and a really positive start to my stay. I chose to use the hotel again on my way back and he was lovely again being flexible with check in time and making sure I had everything I needed. Amazing man running an amazing hotel!

If you ever find yourself traveling to Puerto Jiménez, CR, please take the time to check out this hotel. Our stay was absolutely amazing. Hot water, amazing water pressure, cold and insulated rooms, comfortable beds and pillows, amazing space for the 4 of us sharing one room. Not to mention the incredible views, hospitality and kindness from the staff. Mostly everything is within walking distance, including the airport and car rental center. Our hosts were amazing in helping us find different activities and excursions that were within our price range for our time there. I will definitely be staying here again the next time I find myself in costa rica.

My friends an I had an amazing experience at this hotel this past week. Along with a cozy, cool room, comfortable mattresses, a secured building and rooms, and an on site kitchen, the hotel is also extremely accessible to get to the beach, rental cars, and the local airport. Even the Main Street with a grocery store, sooner shoos, restraints and bars are is in a walking distance. The hosts were super friendly and accommodating; making all guests feel welcome and their experiences heard. I would recommend for all ages, and to top it off it has a beautiful garden with multiple fruit trees and beautiful flowers. I will definitely be returning once I make it back out to Puetro Jimenez.

The host was very helpful and nice, he was very accommodating of us dropping our bags off early which is handy when they are close to the airport. Nice garden too

Very kind hotel manager who helped us a lot to manage our activities around Puerto Jimenez and Corcovado. Cabinas Tropicales is calm and very clean place. There is fully equipted kitchen and shared fridge. Around cabinas is beautiful garden and we was able to met there couple of Ara parrot!

Great space for friends and family to enjoy the parks and nature in this area of CR. The beds are comfy, and the kitchen is big and easy to use. Jean Carlos is wonderful and very helpful with the questions we had and showing us the spots in town. The lounge area is covered with trees and wildlife so it’s very much a hidden oasis. It is an added bonus it’s so close to the airport. My whole group and i felt very at home here right away. Thank you to Jean Carlos for setting up a lovely stay.

Our group of five stayed at Cabinas Tropicales for two nights in January 2025. Jean Carlos, the manager, is knowledgeable, helpful, and very patient. He helped us book a tour into Corcovado park, a yoga class, kayaking excursion, and a bike tour with our companies in the town. The hostal has a serviceable kitchen and good facilities. It is in a quiet part of town with a good market just down the road. Highly recommend.

Very nice rooms and tidy communal area with everything, kitchen fully equiped and even some board games. They have transformed the little garden area to create a quiet and peaceful place very close to the center of Puerto Jimenes. Price / quality match. Very friendly staff, always helpful, up for a chat and ready to recommend the best things to do in the area. Thanks for a nice stay.
