Cable Beach Backpackers

At 46, this was my first time at a backpackers and I enjoyed it more than I expected. The staff were all helpful and friendly and most of the other guests/roommates were chatty too. Lots of open spaces to either sit by yourself or join in a larger group. The rooms were nice and quiet but I think just as an older traveller, I'd prefer 4 beds not 6. The beds are SUPER comfy though. Facilities were all great and easy to use. I'd definitely stay again.

I would not recommend staying at Cable Beach Backpackers. While the location itself is fine, my experience with the owner left me feeling very uncomfortable. As a paying guest, I expected a welcoming and respectful environment, but instead I felt uneasy during my stay. A hostel should be a safe and friendly space for travellers, and unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

I had a very disappointing experience at this hostel. During my stay, my entire bag of food was stolen from the kitchen and when I reported it, the staff didn’t take any responsibility, offer a compensation, or even apologize. They clearly don’t care about their guests’ belongings or comfort. To make things worse, I was suddenly told to leave with no proper notice. They gave me just 2 hours to pack up while I was at work, knowing I couldn’t make it back until much later in the evening. This was extremely unfair and stressful, as i also didnt have a place to stay for the night. The supposed reason was that I smoked a joint, yet this is something that other guests—and even staff members at reception—do openly without consequences. The hypocrisy and favoritism are very obvious here. Overall, the management is unprofessional, unaccountable, and shows no respect for guests. I would not recommend this hostel to anyone. Better go to kimberley lodge instead.

Terrible experience at this hostel. Dolo has one receptionist per day at the hostel to do all the work, so the bar and reception are almost always unattended. In addition to the three employees they had, they fired the two good ones and hired Meritxell, a Catalan who knows nothing about customer service and expels guests depending on whether she likes or dislikes them. She expelled two of my friends for smoking in areas where she smokes every day. I say this, as do everyone at the hostel and the security cameras. Inexplicable... I hope this reaches the hostel's management so they can take the necessary measures. I don't recommend this experience at all.

Terrible experience! you have to go reception and sign to ask every time you need something to cook, non sense just leave them in the kitchen! the kitchen is close at 22 so not able to take YOUR food after that. On top of that the owner is a grumpy woman telling every body what you cant do like you are in a school. Only good thing is near cable beach

The owners are terrible, unfriendly and can explode towards travellers for nothing. No sign or private parking and I had a friend to come by and they were super angry for parking at the hostel. Put a sign up than instead. Also nothing in the kitchen, all have to be found at the reception. Ridicules and annoying system for everyone. Vibe is alright.

Usually never review for criticize but I've never experience such a bad service in a hotel regarding the relation between prize and quality. Wouldn't recommend the experience, horrible service and hospitality, really hope they change the management.

The manager has been really good with me and helped me when I was in a bad situation, she didn’t had to but took the time to. The staff, rooms and utilities are really nice as well. I highly recommend this hostel for your holidays in Broome.
