A treasure of a find. This beautiful little museum is full of kind, knowledgeable staff, beautiful taxidermy, an awesome indoor kid play area with a flying squirrel and live reptiles in their terrariums, a seasonally? changing kids’ exhibit with lots of interactive learning, and a cool gift shop (great for educational gifts and books especially). They also have an incredible outdoor play scape right down the road that’s amazing in the summer. Free on Tuesdays, home schoolers!

This museum is so well done. We went with a 3 year old who had a blast on the multiple slides, climbing areas, looking at the wildlife and learning along the way. This was a nice surprise for the area and is very worth a visit!

We explored the subnivian exhibit and learned all about the world that exists under our feet. I learned far more than I expected, and the exhibit was incredibly interactive. From adult to child it was an incredible experience.

Wonderful learning experience. One of the geology staff spent time explaining the composition of a rock she had just collected from Lake Superior to my nine year old granddaughter. She encouraged her to explore the museum geology exhibit and learn how basalt was formed. The museum has many learning experiences for visitors.

What an adorable spot. I bet little kids would love it, but as a woman in my 40s, I still had a great time. I definitely put on a little fox cape so I could experience being a little animal under the snow, but stopped short of playing in the acorn pit. A wide variety of ways to interact with exhibits, plentiful but approachable information about the area and wildlife. Respect and appreciation for the indigenous land stewards and history of the area they hold and share. I had too much fun to take many photos, but I did capture this little friend.

The lady working the front was very nice and recommended us places to go with our group! The museum was small but had a fun selection of things to do as well as the interactive part for the kids. Fully stocked gift shop as well :)

Mollie arranged for my homeschooled son to access the entomology collection. Everyone there is helpful and lovely and the facility is really good.

What a great, nice little area to hike and for the kids to play. Didn't get a chance to explore everything. So I guess we'll just have to come back again.

Yelp
Small, but free for kids and they use their space well, I'd go back.

Yelp
My adult son and I were staying in Cable and so we stopped into the museum. It was very well done and gave us lots of information about the wildlife of the area. The people were super nice and stopped to give us more information. A well spent hour for sure!

Yelp
I've passed by it a couple times and wondered what it was. So I went in to check it, it was pretty cool. And educational, I'd go back for sure

Yelp
The town of Cable feels sleepy in this shoulder season but the CNHMuseum always has something fun to offer. They have a new exhibit every year that is a great learning experience. A lot of facts presented in a really fun way. A great place for kids and adults. The other features include the stuffed collections which range from a mountain lion to small birds. They also have three raptors (birds of prey) that are brought out for learning opportunities. It is amazing to see an owl from 3 feet away. Be sure to check out their program guide to see which events are happening this season.

Yelp
I brought my daughter (12 months) and two nephews (18 months and 3 years) to the Cable Natural History Museum summer and fall 2015. The underwater exhibit is very fun and interactive even for the little ones! It is hard to find a place where you can let 3 kids this age run free and LEARN....they all loved exploring the "seaweed", the fallen logs and bear dens. It kept them busy for over an hour with safe, fun and educational activities! Can't wait to go back during New Years :)
