25 Best Golf Courses in the World

"This links-style course set on Cape Breton features rolling fairways, dunes, forest, elevation changes, and ocean landscapes. The first hole offers a view of the sea and, in the distance, the village of Inverness. The 18th hole challenges players with a ravine in front of the narrow green." - Travel + Leisure Editors

An unforgettable golfing experience. Cabot Cliffs is simply world-class — breathtaking views, immaculate fairways, and super fast greens that test every part of your game. The staff are amazing, the range is top quality with a full TrackMan setup, and the rental clubs are premium TaylorMade. Every detail here is done right. I’ll be repeating this trip multiple times until the day I die.

This was our second trip to Cliffs in three years. Great course as always. The course was pretty baked from the dry summer but started to recover slightly. Fairways and greens were very hard and the ball ran very quick. Played a 2:36pm tee time and ended around 7pm. Got held up pretty bad on the back nine with the groups ahead and we never saw any marshall. Ended up with a sunset 17th and 18th holes though so it worked out. Decided to not use caddies this time because they're really not that necessary if you're a seasoned golfer. You only need them for blind tee/fairway shots but you can use any golf app to get around this. The caddies are pretty hit and miss. You may have a stellar experienced one or one thats only benefit really is to carry your bag. We had push carts and the quality of them were not great, the brakes were broken and they didn't have any spares. Trackman on the range is a great addition.

Cabot Links, set along the shoreline, is the more forgiving of the two courses, featuring firm fairways, plenty of bunkers, and gorgeous coastal scenery. Just two miles away, Cabot Cliffs sits high above the ocean, offering dramatic cliffside views. It’s no surprise it was ranked #11 in the world by Golf Digest. We played for three days—two of which brought strong winds of 35–40 mph. We opted to walk the courses with pull carts instead of using caddies. While it was a challenge pushing the carts up and down the fairways, it added to the adventure and made the experience even more memorable. We’re already planning our next trip back!

Easily the best golf course you can play in North America. I can see how this would be in the top five of the world. Everything about the Cabot experience is incredible and we will continue to come every year to support the lovely folks of Inverness and the local economy. You cannot be the experience here. The course is incredible!

Spent 2 nights at the Cabot with a round of golf at the Cliffs. It was spectacular and for sure exceeded our expectations. The staff are over the top friendly and accommodating. We had a deluxe king room with balcony overlooking Links course. We ate at Panorama restaurant as well as the Bar. Both were amazing food. A bit on the pricey side. What a treat this was.

Unforgettable experience. Spent a few days in Cape Breton and knew that I had to play at least one of the Cabot courses. Ended up with a twilight slot at Cliffs, and could not have asked for a more enjoyable adventure. Opted for a push cart and yardage book to navigate the layout (highly recommend the latter if you aren't playing with a local / don't want a caddie). For those that may not know, even your non-golfer guests are encouraged to walk with you. The amenities (e.g., trackman at the range), facilities and course were immaculate, but still with a very laid-back atmosphere. Trekked across the rolling hills and through, at times, 75km/h winds (occasionally taking 3-4 more clubs for a given shot) and smiled through it all. Don't hesitate to book a trip out here, if you are lucky enough to do so. You will be rewarded with lasting memories.

An amazing course! So many great golf holes! Particularly, the 16this something else! The 17th is a hole like no other. The greens are lightning fast, but not silly. The views are spectacular. The accommodation and staff are world class! Canadian hospitality! Loved it! Enjoy.

Had a great time with my brother for his 40th birthday at the links and cliffs. The food was great and the weather cooperated the second round at cliffs. I would highly recommend a trip out.
