I love the choice of food, which offers both classic and alternative and healthy options, all with delicious flavours. There are multiple gluten free and vegan options. They have 3 raw cakes that are both dairy and gluten free and I love them, they taste absolutely delicious and you can't even realise they are gluten free. Both salty and sweet options. They also have fresh smoothies with an offer of alternative vegan milks. Recommended dishes gluten free and vegan: hot chocolate if you like it dense, ice-cream shakes, matcha smoothie and for all 3 ask for vegan milk. Raw lime cake, raw pistachio cake, raw orange chocolate cake. Buddha bowl can also be gluten free (it comes with quinoa and pita bread so you can request it without bread). My friends who eats gluten they often order club sandwiches and tiramisu. The atmosphere is nice both indoors and on the outside terrace. The staff is kind and polite most of the times: you can get very good service even in moments when all tables are occupied. they have some great waitress(es) that are there from longer period and are absolutely amazing, and other newer ones that rotate. My favourite waitress is the girl who always wears the glasses with yellow lenses. They accept reservations for larger groups. The place is clean.

It was my first time in Cacao and I liked it! I found this place by coincidence on Google Maps to get some breakfast. The location is very good as it is close to the centre of Prague heading to Old Town. The food was very good, especially the cakes that are presented beautifully. The service was very friendly, kind, and professional. I did not have to wait long for the food to come as well as the bill. The atmosphere was nice, very modern look and very spacious, which is great. Also, the prices are good. Overall, I would definitely recommend coming here, and I will definitely come back here some day when visiting Prague.

We were sat really quickly and our food came within around 5-10 mins of ordering. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced and the drinks were good too. My boyfriend’s empty plate was taken while I was still eating (which didn’t bother us), however after I had finished, my empty plate was left in front of me for about 20 minutes. The cafe wasn’t that busy and there were waiters free the entire time. I put my empty plate in front of my boyfriend so I could finish my drink and it was cleared from in front of him in less than 2 minutes. Not sure if there’s a reason for this that we’re unaware of? Food was great, but the issue with the service stuck in our minds.

Google
Good location. Very popular place and good food. The wait time for food could be a bit long when it's crowded but it's worth it.

Really enjoyed setting under sun in start of spring watching prague republic square, waiter was a bit delay maybe a lot client, but still nice choice in center Prague🌹

One of the best restaurants in Prague. The service is excellent, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I recommend it to everyone. Thanks all 🤍

Yelp
Our first meal in Prague and also revisited for a second time. Breakfast was delicious! Perfect portion leaving me satisfied, but not overly full. Arriving shortly after opening it was not crowded yet and service was great. With a chill in the air, we dined indoors, although they have a large outside dining area. After a memorable 1st meal, we found ourselves back in the area and popped in for an early evening dining experience. This time, it was much busier and louder inside. Service was slower, but food was still top quality. Although we didn't have any dessert here, they are very popular for sweet dishes. What gave that away...the menu opens to desserts 1st! An extensive menu with nice variety also includes a healthy menu.

Yelp
We stopped in here for a late lunch on our second day in Prague. They have an extensive menu with lots of options and a whole display case of desserts. The interior is spacious and clean, and there's plenty of outdoor seating with heaters. The service was quick and efficient and everyone was friendly. We were able to sit and chat after our meal without feeling rushed. Definitely a good choice if you're looking for a healthy meal or something sweet!

Yelp
Sometimes it is all about the view. Nice cafe by the train station. Selection of desserts as well.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick bite and wanted some dessert. Was seated immediately. My server was nice and attentive but not overbearing. I ordered a club sandwich and vanilla ice cream for dessert. I recognize this place has 'cacao' in the name so I probably should've tried something with chocolate but I wasn't in the mood for chocolate. The club sandwich was good. Nothing exciting but it wasn't bad either. The vanilla ice cream hit the spot. Would definitely stop in again if I'm looking for desserts. They all looked great in the display but can't speak to how they were.

Yelp
Came here for breakfast and really enjoyed it. Quick service and reasonable prices. Also good for groups because they have a lot of seating & in a good area, walking distance to the center if you're visiting Prague.

Yelp
An updated review of Cacao as we came here multiple times seven years ago. We came back to Prague and went here and it clearly is everything we remembered! This is one of our favorite coffee shops in all of Europe. They have changed a few things since we were here last: upstairs seating and some menu items. They are fairly busy but their service and quality it outstanding. Highly recommended and can't wait to come back again during our next visit to Europe!!!

Yelp
Best meal we had so far in Prague. Although crowded, we managed to get a table. It's slow ordering since there are so many people, but once order was made, food came out pretty quickly. Our club sandwich was delish. It seems to be poplar as I saw this dish coming out of the kitchen frequently. The vegan salad was amazingly fresh and had lots of great ingredients. Perfect for sharing as an appetizer too. The salmon bagel (Lox) was my favorite. The salmon was super fresh and it was served with toasted sesame seed bagel. The avocado toast with tomato had nice flavor as well. The desserts were just ok. We had the tiramisu and caramel pecan cheesecake. The cheesecake was very dense and was quite different from cheesecakes we have in the US. We didn't get to try the coffee here, but from the tables around us, it looked really tasty.

Yelp
Great stop on our way out of town. For how busy this place was in the center of town, service was quick even without a reservation. i had a delicious hot chocolate with baileys and they packed a club sandwhich to go for us. perfect to eat on the train.
google avatar

Yelp
I got the salted caramel and it was delicious! Lots of people sitting outside, so I'm assuming that everything else on their menu must be good too.

Yelp
Cacao Prague is a sexy, chic cafe located right around the corner from the Prague Municipal house (on the one side) and the Palladium shopping center (on the other). I have stopped in a couple times, and service was friendly both times. They have a decent sized dining-terrace, and the interior is divided into two rooms with a mixture of traditional tables and chairs, or tables and comfy armchairs. In one corner there is a bookshelf with some interesting books to peruse while you lounge. You may make reservations but it is not necessary. They have a pretty extensive dining menu but I have only had desserts and drinks. The chocolate mousse with raspberries and the Cheesecake with Strawberries were both huge hits with my friend. Chocolate was rich and neither the mousse nor the cake was too sweet. Today I tried the Peru XL ice-cream cup (HUGE - like a sundae) - a combination of chocolate and vanilla ice cream, chocolate cream, roasted almonds, whipped cream, and biscuits. Absolutely delish! So, in addition to the size and the super sweet, I couldn't finish it all on my own. They make fresh fruit juices and I tried the Pineapple/Ginger. Holy smokes! It was heavy on the ginger (think smoothie style) and although I typically like my juices sweet, I drank this one anyway thinking it would help with my allergy attack lol. (Just note that the flavors are strongly ginger and not at all sweet). The cafe is very serene, even when there are a lot of people. Service was friendly and I will definitely be stopping in again. The food menu looks awesome, so will have to try next time.

Yelp
Walking back to our hotel after our first day of exploring Prague, it was too late for dinner but we had room for a drink and something light. Cacao was on our route so we stopped in. Although it was a cool evening, we sat on the patio where they had heaters and provided blankets. Nice touch. It gave us a chance to watch people walking by and the few street vendors that were still open nearby. The dessert menu looked great and should satisfy our void so we ordered the Tiramisu and a slice of Pistachio cake. Both were very good. The tiramisu was rich without being too sweet. The pistachio cake was chocolate on the inside with a generous crusting of pistachios on the outside. Very nice. We had heard that beer is cheaper than water in Prague. It's true! Kinda. A pint of local Staropramen was 45CZK and still (tap?) water was 49CZK! Oddly, sparkling water was a little cheaper at 45CZK. Pilsner Urquell, another local beer, was 75CZK. Stella Artois non alcoholic (didn't know they made this) was only 39CZK. We tried the Staropramen and were hoppy with it. Without trying any of their savoury food, I have to say this is a nice place to get desserts, grab a cold (or hot) drink and watch the crowd go by.

Yelp
I must have come on a bad day. Service was viciously horrible. Had to flag my waitress every time. Wasn't just me, I watched all the other guests and they all had to do the same thing. I had a hot tea and it was really good, but the service made me never want to go back.

Yelp
Awesome location! I was in search of an açaí bowl in Prague and found this to be one of my few options. I went in the morning during the week so it wasn't too busy. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. The outdoor seating was tempting, but I sat inside because it was already getting pretty warm out. I ordered not only an açaí bowl, but also an affogato and latte (with my boyfriend). This was my first time ever having an affogato and it was SO good. The gelato was honestly pretty mediocre but the espresso was really nice so putting it together was awesome. The açaí bowl was also pretty good--not the best I've ever had but also not the worst! Great option for lunch in Prague!

Yelp
Cutest little café with outside seating as well as indoor couches and chairs etc. Super duper clean and well maintained. After stuffing ourselves with dinner this evening,Sam M wanted to try Cacao. He had seen this place a few times while walking and was ready to eat here. We arrived here near to closing and the employees didn't rush us but I felt bad coming only 20 minutes before closing, they gave us great service even then. The prices and portions are great. We are always converting everything in dollars. This seemed cheaper than most ice cream places in U.S. As well as other countries in Europe. Not only was the price good but also the product. My hot chocolate was decadent and full of cocoa and richness. Sam M ordered two scoops of ice cream and got a discount with yelp check for the ice cream {winning and yelping on vacation}... He also ordered a orange lemonade which consisted of fresh fruit and fizz(I'm assuming sparkling beverage) and fresh lemonade. His lemonade was very refreshing since I shared some with him, of course for reviewing purposes as well as trying everything he had to be the fatty at heart that I am. All in all, this café is a must for desserts, drinks, ice cream etc while your in Náměstí Republiky area.~

Yelp
Awesome ambiance Tiramisu was absolutely delicious Great for after dinner dessert

Yelp
Cacao is a cute cafe in a good location. The employees are nice and they speak English so no worries there. They accept credit cards and Euros. The gelato everyone raves about....they are good but the best....I have had better gelato in Italy and US. I also ordered an breakfast sandwich...it was huge but tasted okay. I tried to order kitchen menu at night as well but was told the kitchen was closed for some reason. Now the coffee items here are absolutely delicious. My friend and I both agreed their Macchiato was great. My friend ordered one of the smoothies but she forgot to ask them to put ice in the smoothie so it came out lukewarm, and it was disgusting. Europeans don't like ice so don't forget to ask for it. So this place wasn't mind-blowing but still pleasant with decent food, great coffee, and also the assurance of the English speaking skills of the staffs.

Yelp
We stayed in Marriott close by so it was pretty easy for us to stop by this place with no regrets! Food was good, fresh and delicious. Many choices of deserts. My daughter loved this place as well. I ordered once a hot wine which was good too. Service was pretty quick and didn't have to wait for long. Nice settings and seems be busy all the time.
google avatar

Yelp
Great pineapple sorbet, outdoor tables near the square, and even better, some great sandwiches, like my caprese bagel with fresh tomato and pesto. Also, 3 glasses of tasty wine, and two sandwiches for under $17. Service was friendly and casual, and there is also a full bar.
google avatar

Greg T.

Yelp
I was returning to our hotel with several friends, and we decided we needed a snack before retiring. We happened on Cacao, located off the square in old town. The atmosphere is great. They have outdoor seating overlooking the square, very friendly and prompt service and great prices. Some of us had their very tasty ice creams or sorbet, and others had a baguette sandwich. The baguette with prosciutto and melon was wonderful. A great place to hang out. The music was good, too!
google avatar

Jon C.

Yelp
This was out favorite place in Prague. The ice cream was incredible! Get the mango yogurt...it was my favorite ice cream ever! The atmosphere was nice and service was good. I also ordered a hot chocolate with was very rich and a pasta special that was great as well...the desserts are the star though and the mango yogurt ice cream takes the gold!
google avatar

Sam M.

Yelp
Prague is a city out of a fairy tale and guess what the cafes and dessert restaurants are from that place too. I noticed Cacao while coming back from one of our hectic excursions and we went their on back to back nights. The first night we went around 10 pm and they were about to close but still gave us first class service and i used the yelp offer for 2 for 1 scoops for ice cream which was delicious. Since we liked it so much guess what we were back again and this time i had 4 scoops of delicious ice cream along with a mocha cheesecake. They were super busy. All the tables were full and one of the managers offered the table he was working on. The staff is super nice and the service is on point. All the deserts look amazing and i wish i could try them all. I don't think we are going for a 3rd night in a row but never say never.
google avatar

Mit S.

Yelp
I've eaten a lot of ice cream in my time. A lot of it has been better than what I had at Cacao. A lot of it has been cheaper. But frankly I was blown away by how much excellent ice cream you can get here for the low price! Really good quality ice cream, a Yelp check in offer, centrally located with friendly start and a nice atmosphere. What more could you need? This place brought a smile to my face on a miserable rainy day and that was priceless!
google avatar

Jorge C.

Yelp
The hype is real. It was packed but I didn't have a problem finding a table. The food is delicious. I came for breakfast at 11am and then decided to stay here drinking beer while doing some work on my computer. Pastrami sandwich was on point. Oh and great service.
google avatar

Shannon N.

Yelp
Great location! There menu is huge everything looks delicious. We had salad niciose and avocado toast. The salad was ammmmazing never had one that delicious. The toast was 6 out of 10. Save room for dessert! Our choice was Carmel pecan cheesecake and salted peanut ice cream! The ice cream was the winner!!!!! I could eat a whole bucket!! The cheesecake was dry and tasteless. Service was good. Prices our good the salad was 195K and cheesecake was 95K.

Yelp
I loved the decadent hot chocolate here. Made with 72% cocoa and in a huge mug this was pure luxury in a cup :-)) what more can you want ? They have a huge menu of drinks, cocktails, teas, frappes, hot chocolates, food, ice cream and on and on the list goes. I had a really hard time deciding so I settled for the one drink which is what this place should be really about, given the name cacao ;-)) I would come back here daily for this one thing alone if I could. It's not cheap at about €5 but what the heck, you only live once ;-)) A really nice and cool looking shop with locals and tourists enjoying a cuppa or some food. I am glad we found this walking around town. It's just a stones throw from the palladium shopping center.
google avatar

Jrfire N.

Yelp
Nice place, very good hot chocolate (the decadent, high-cacao content is great), very good homemade lemonade. Just sit outside and enjoy the sunshine!
google avatar

Yelp
3 times we visited this place!! 3 times I ate ice cream. I meant to take a picture but I devoured my ice cream too fast every time! 1 time we actually had food - and it was great! Desperately wanting something light, had a great avocado-smoked salmon-tomato open faced sandwich. Loved the outdoor seating too - great for people watching and enjoying the weather - the service was perfect - friendly staff. great ICE CREAM!! they give free samples which may have bankrupted them if i stayed much longer...seriously, this Salted peanut flavor was my favorite. Perfectly located within 2 minutes of our Marriott Prague, it was easy (too easy) to swing by! They have multiple sizes and cones too. Skip those touristy spots and make sure you visit Cacao - they have a great menu and many meal options too.
google avatar

Russ R.

Yelp
The very best gelato I have had in my life, and I've had my share of gelato (all over the world). If you like coconut, you have got to try the coconut gelato here...I promise you you'll love it!!! In addition to great gelato this was (is) a great stop for a quick lunch. Good service, excellent food and reasonably priced!
google avatar

Irena S.

Yelp
Landed here late afternoon after a long day touring Starometske. It's just down the road from the Obecni Dum where I planned to attend a concert later, so I hung out at Cacao while I waited. Amazing selection of teas, coffees and deserts as well as a few things to eat. I wish I had had more time to try their gelato and desserts, but for that one hot summer afternoon when I was there I opted for a refreshing exotic Thai tea and a blueberry cheesecake. Kind of an odd choice now that I think about it, but I was hungry and tired :). Wish I had tried their gelato which other reviewers had raved about - had my phone right there and free wifi so could have looked up Yelp... No worries, it was all delicious! I don't think you can go wrong at this cafe, it's a great place.
google avatar

Gui G.

Yelp
Great place for coffee, small bites, and hot chocolate. We went twice during evenings in a few days and in both times the offerings were limited (come early to have a better chance) and service was almost impersonal. We relied a bagel with lox, a kinder maxi inspired chocolate tart, as well as tea and hot chocolate. The food and drinks itself were great. Good spot if you are in the area.
google avatar

Kaculka C.

Yelp
I was wandering through prague and really had a mood for hot chocolate. I did not know this place before so when outside Kofi place told me no more chocolate, i was excited to see this one. It was packed. I was lucky to wait only like 5min to get a table. I sat down and checked the menu. They actually have also food and people seemed to like it but i came for hot chocolate only. I am very picky in regards of that so i was happy to see that they differentiate hot chocolate and hot cocoa (extra star for the place :). I ordered one with ice cream and banana and almonds. It was a good one. Little bit disappointed by the whipped cream (telling you i am picky) but overall i was very satisfied. I am giving three stars because really had only chocolate. Also the waitress were chaotic. It seemed they do not have a system on who is taking care of which section and also paying was a bit pain. Wait time for the drink. But they were nice. Well they even asked me if i want anything else before getting my original order ;)
google avatar

Yelp
Ok. It is official I want to have babies with the food and ice cream here. This place is amazing, heavenly, and surprisingly decently priced for being so close to tourist central. I have been twice now: once for ice cream, which let me tell you, even thought I am not a huge ice cream fan, I would seriously consider stocking in my fridge at all times and slowly, bite by perfectly creamy bite restrainedly eating each tub for over a month just to relish it for the sublimeness that it is. The second time was for coffee and cake. HOLY CRAP THE CAKE!!!! Now, I bake. It is how I relieve stress, I am pretty good at it too. However, I may never make chocolate cake again because I know it will never in a million years be as inspired as the cake I ate on Tuesday. Oh yeah, and the latte was pretty fan-flipping-tastic as well. It is a must for everyone!
google avatar

Nela S.

Yelp
A really great place right at the Namesti Republiky and just a few steps from the Palladium shopping centre. It is a very nice cafe where you can get amazing cakes, delicious ice cream and also some salty finger food if you are not in the mood for sweets. The service is fast, professional and kind. It is definitely a great choice if you are looking for a place to go have a glass of wine or a coffee with friends and its also a great choice for casual business meetings.
google avatar

Nadia C.

Yelp
We got there on a Sunday at 10 am and were asked if we had reservations, nevertheless they fit us in. The place was already starting to get packed. We had no clue but it seems this is a very popular place. The service was great. The food was real good quality and big portions. We were 3 people and had granola & yogurt, french toasts (which took a bit to come but were real well made so worth the wait) and capuchinos, spent around 470 czh. They have great variety in breakfast dishes, cakes and beverages. It is way better if you have time to sit and spend, real great atmosphere.

Yelp
It was so good I came back a second time during a weekend break in Prague! I had the same thing each time too - a fantastic slice of caramel pecan cheesecake. Absolutely delish They serve decent coffee and bring a small glass of water. They have a fab cheesecake menu but they can sell out pretty quick. If you've a sweet tooth you need to make sure you visit here!
google avatar

Kerry B.

Yelp
Best hot chocolate! I'll crave this when I leave Prague, but will give me a reason to come back someday.
google avatar

Ria M.

Yelp
The vibe is simultaneously classy and casual, with free books on the shelves and a nicely lit set up with good music. The wellness tea was fantastic - it's served with lots of herbs and lemon and honey on the side - just what I needed! Well worth the price and a beautiful spot to hang out alone or with friends.

Yelp
Overall: Disappointed with the cake I ordered, but the gelato was worth it! Also very nice outdoor seating, great location and friendly service. Cuisine: I do not recommend the Chocolate Raw Cake! I didn't realize that this was not the normal chocolate cake that other people are raving about. I would come back for the gelato, though. Ambiance: Very nice outdoor seating that opens up into the old town square. Service: Friendly! But like most European restaurants, very laid back and hands-off, so you usually have to get someone's attention if you'd like the check.
google avatar

Joey C.

Yelp
I am hoping that strawberries and lemon are not the worst of all the flavours that they offer. Maybe it was the fine street sausage dog that just devoured just right outside this shop. Maybe that messed with my taste buds and made me lose my senses. Maybe I should of listened to my better half as she had the obvious look of doubt on her face; like the times when I lie to hide the truth or tell the truth to hide the lies...something like that. This stuff not worthy of mention at best. Both of the flavours are masked and overpowered by the sweetness. If this is ice cream I am not sure where the cream went because I couldn't taste any creaminess. It's obvious what sells here is the ambiance but I am perplexed by that because Prague is all about great ambiance. Almost every corner you turn there are picturesque sights with cozy loungers and chairs on cobblestone sidewalks.
google avatar

Jessica P.

Yelp
Food and drinks were okay. We sat outside and the views/people watching were great. Service was slower than some other places nearby and the coffee left a little to be desired.
google avatar

Elise C.

Yelp
Went last night and had the chocolate strudel and the hot chocolate. I highly recommend the chocolate strudel as it was delightful. The hot chocolate was good, but it was massive. I wish I had gotten something to dip in it as it was thick chocolate. I suggest sharing it among a group as it should not be consumed alone.
google avatar

Seila K.

Yelp
We were pretty excited about this place since it was close to our airbnb. We came in late evening after dinner one night, just looking for dessert. We got the hot chocolate and gelato. Overall, it was fine, but what ruined the experience was the server. She gave us major attitude and made us feel bad for even trying gelato before buying it. We thought maybe she was just having a bad day, but she seemed friendly to other guests. Luckily the male server that helped us later was much more friendly, although it was not enough for us to want to return.
google avatar

Martin E.

Yelp
Went there for working outside in the sun. The service is very friendly and fast just had coffee and water. But the food I could see looked nice. It's next to palladium shopping mall and in the center and you will find tourists as well. The terrace is a bit small and the places are tight together. But if you won't have a problem with go there. Mi found the prices ok for the center. It's no typical tourism place.
google avatar

Esra K.

Yelp
I was actually surprised how inexpensive it is. Food was quite okay and service was good. I could go there again with pleasure
google avatar

Marcia S.

Yelp
We stopped in after the ballet for dessert. I had 2 delicious scoops of ice cream (salted peanut and almond coconut) and we shared a piece of decadently rich chocolate cake. My husband had white chocolate pistachio ice cream. I couldn't decide which flavor ice cream I liked the most.
google avatar

Paul J.

Yelp
I have been coming here for years (when visiting Prague) and I really like this place. Initially I came here for the breakfasts. They offered an excellent menu selection at a reasonable price. Since my last visit, the interior has been overhauled and it has a much more distinct café feel that encourages people to stay and enjoy the atmosphere. It is a beautiful improvement. You will find more cakes and such than individual bakery items. You won't be disappointed by the selection or the service.
google avatar

Vicky L.

Yelp
There is no way I can give Cacao fewer than 5 stars. Hot chocolate: so much yes. They have a "decadent" one, which is dark (72%) chocolate. They have one with nutella. They even have one with bananas and rum (and also Bailey's). And all of their hot chocolate drinks are super thick and melty, like basically drinking melted quality chocolate. Gelato: best coconut ice cream/gelato/frozen dessert I have ever had in my entire life, period. Staff: so nice. Couldn't be better. Location: the best. Right on a cute little square, close to the Marriott and Hilton Old Town, close to the old town square, and perfect for an after-dinner snack.

Yelp
Cacao is incredible!! I came here all the time when I was abroad in Prague and even took many visitors there. Their acai bowls are to die for and they are such a great value. The service is good and the prices are reasonable. They also have very good sandwiches, breakfast plates, and smoothies. The coffee is good as well (and iced coffee!).

Yelp
Seriously? I haven´t written a review for this awesome place yet? Shame on me. So here we go to fix this mistake. Definitely one of the best cafes in Prague. Not only because of service. Service is amazing btw. But because of the offer of ice cream, smoothies, cakes, sandwiches etc. They make their own ice cream and they do it at the same place so it goes straight from maker to customer. And I like how they experiment with flavours. You can find many unusual ones and they are delicious. Delicous are also smothies. They have a lot of variants from purely vegetable or fruity ones to mixed ones, or better say experimental ones. Like mixing some kind of fruit with vegetable. It´s not a place for common lunch as to which many people are used to. But they have a sandwiches or baguettes. And everything is fresh and high quality so it´s perfect for breakfast or light lunch or just snack during the day. And coffee? Coffee from doubleshot can´t usually dissapoint. Plus tea from Tea Mountain. Perfect combination. So you haven´t been here yet? You should fix this mistake.
