Plan a Summer Stay in Salesas, Madrid’s Smallest Neighborhood | Vogue

"Home to the barrio’s finest chocolate truffles, with unlikely flavors like olive oil, saffron, and black truffle, it serves sweet treats worth sneaking into your suitcase—if they make it that far." - Elizabeth Wellington Rollins

Google
Very fancy chocolate shop with superb truffles. €6 for box of 4 truffles and 100% worth it (we tried saffron, olive oil, and other “classic” Spanish flavors, but they have ~50 to choose from). 🍫 Chocolate bars €4-9. But the service was a bit rude (he did not offer us samples, even though he clearly had some and typically you don’t have to ask yourself) and when we asked for recommendations (in Spanish) he wasn’t very helpful.

Google
Great quality chocolates. My only comment would be that now there is only a box of 4 or a box of 16 and no longer a box of 9. They are pricey but you get what you are paying for quality and wonderful selection. A go to place for gifts or knocking out a chocolate craving.

Google
Decent chocolates but I found it more about fancy wrappers and fluff rather than really good chocolate. In my opinion, the price segment they are at, one should really be able to experience extraordinary tasting chocolate like you do at Läderach or Patchi. This place is not that kind of level in terms of taste but they are at that kind of price. We call such places ‘pretenders’.

Google
Great selections of Spanish chocolates They are a bit on the expensive side however the quality is there so you get what you pay for. The lady that helped us was friendly however lacked English language capability which I wished she was fluent on, but anyway we got the job done. We bought 16 chocolate pieces that amounted to $15.90. You can select the ones you want and place them inside a nice carton box.

Google
Good quality chocolate, terrible service. We buy every few weeks a few boxes and some jam and they never gave us any samples to try. Cherry on top was that last time they gave samples to the couple in front of us, and they didnt offer to us while wife was pregnant! Today went to another one in Barcelona, gave us the fancy pralines to try…

Although there are shops in Japan. I really wanted to try their chocolate in Madrid. The shop is relatively small, but it took me a while to choose from the chocolates of various origins. The staff was polite and professional. However, when choosing a chocolate box, the number was either 4 or 16, so it would be nice to have the option of 6 or 9 chocolates.

Google
Informative and Helpful Staff, Decent Chocolates The chocolates come in all forms of shapes, sizes and packaging. The staff knows their products well and takes the time to explain and make recommendations when needed. Very observant. There are many kinds of packaging for the chocolate products from chocolate bars to beautifully packaged chocolate-coated almonds for gifts. Prices are average for premium chocolates in Europe, it ranged from 3 plus EUR to 9 EUR for their premium range of dark chocolate bars. There are also gift boxes suitable for presents ranging from 4 plus EUR to 25 EUR.

Google
Superb quality of chocolates from all around the world. Hundreds of awesome choices of assorted chocolate sweets. But they said that Spanish chocolate still holds on the top Delicious chocolate (I particularly recommend the champagne truffles, the sea salted caramel and the pecan praline, but there are numerous other excellent and original options And the hot chocolate is unexplained I really wish to have one in my city Highly recommend and you will never regret

Yelp
If you love chocolate, you must visit Cacao Sampaka. We (or maybe just me) loved it so much in Madrid, that one of the first things we (okay, I) did was scout out the closest Barcelona location and make sure that we paid it a visit amongst all the Gaudi and dining we had planned. What I really liked were the "collections" of different chocolates, arranged by "theme", and with 16 pieces to a box and at least 2 of each kind, so that you can savour each mouth-watering hit of deliciousness with someone else. This in itself is a bigger deal than it may seem, as I quickly realized that it's kind of lame when you say, "OMG can you BELIEVE how much like real truffle this tastes? Oh wait, I ate the only piece..." Wah wah. There are 8 collections in all (you can by the entire collection of 64 pieces if you want!), which include single bean origins; dried fruits and nuts; spices; flowers and herbs; liquers; fruit; truffles; and innovations. I've tried the single bean origins, fruit, and innovations collections, and am waiting to dig into a box of spices which made it with us back home. The single bean origins was fantastic, allowing us to compare and contrast the subtle notes, side by side, of chocolates from places like the Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Granada, or Ecuador. The fruits were far from the overly sweet and pungent cream or jelly filled renditions one might be more familiar with, but crafted delicately so that the fruit flavours were gently infused into the chocolate itself. The innovations collection was, surprisingly, more variable in deliciousness that I might have expected, but interesting to see how flavours of soya or black truffle might sit alongside chocolate, or even parmesan cheese and balsamic vinegar. What Cacao Sampaka has to offer extends far beyond just these collections, as there are a huge variety of not only other chocolates, but even wines to match. It really is a chocolate wonderland, and if it were not for the fact that our vacation had to come to an end, I would most certainly have been plunged into the depths of type 2 diabetes as my visits to Cacao Sampaka would have most certainly never ended.

Yelp
Delicious chocolate, chic store, great customer service. I haven't had anything from their cafe, but the chocolate is just divine. They have so many wonderful and exotic flavors! I want to try them all!! I'd definitely return!

Yelp
The best chocolate store hands down in Madrid. Great stuff. Chocolate candles too! They have infused chocolates (herbs or fruits) Ruby chocolate and chocolate covered chestnuts. This is an amazing place and high quality

Yelp
The chocolates here are amazing! They also have a cafe with tea, coffee, ice cream, and various cakes. They all tasted delicious (minus the black truffle chocolate, which we ordered from the experimental chocolates selection. That was no good, but I basically asked for it when I ordered it) Get the ice cream (helado): blanco con naranje (white chocolate with orange). It's out of this world!

Yelp
Excellent selection of chocolate in all its possible forms, from delicious truffles to tasty chocolate bars to bring back home with you. The store is stylish but prices are reasonable. There is a small bar where you can enjoy the traditional churros with chocolate.
