We were recommended by a friend who said they have the best carbonara. So we came to try. Amazingly, not only was the carbonara good, but we found our new fave pasta - seafood linguine in a bag. Sooo good. Also love their vongole spaghetti, risotto, mushroom soup and pizza! Oh, their molten lava cake + tiramisu are delicious too! We will keep coming back for authentic Italian fare, the homely atmosphere and personable service! Do come and try for yourselves! You will be wowed! 🥰

When I think “hole-in-the-wall”, Cacio e Pepe fits the image. Hidden gem in the Hillview residential estate. Our family has been coming back (since 2015) whenever we crave homely Italian fare. It helps that owners Bee & Jackie are ever-smiling & hospitable hosts. Our family has probably tried everything on their menu. Pizza is thin crust style. Ask for daily specials. And don’t forget to save space for molten lava cake (with alcohol & nuts option) & tiramisu. House wines are always dependably good. Roadside parking around the nearby roads. Reservations recommended.

This local and authentic Italian restaurant is very great for me. I always take a bus more than 1 hour from the middle of city to Hillview to have dinner in this place. The owner and staff is nice and kind. The taste is delicious especially cacio e pepe that same name with this restaurant.

Cute little neighbourhood Italian restaurant. The food was decent with the pasta being really delicious. The pizza and calamari were a little underwhelming to be honest. The service was fantastic and had that really homely/family run sort of feel.

Awesome food, great atmosphere and cozy place. We had a wonderful time. Looking forward to our next visit. ❤️ Orders as per photo. Total bill: $78 ($39/pax)

Google
It’s around a 3.5 stars rating actually. I got the linguine al cartoccio and I really enjoyed it as the pasta was al dente, seafood was abundant and fresh with lots of clams, half a crayfish and one prawn. It was nicely wrapped in paper bag which makes it warm to eat. We also got the pizza which wasn’t too bad also and the chili powder they provided was really spicy shiok. I think for the price point, it’s a little on the high side which is why I rated 3 instead of 4 stars. Parking can be challenging as there’s limited parking outside.

Looking for somewhere to eat after hike at DairyFarm. This was one suggested place. It’s a Tuesday evening. Arrived before 7pm. Had difficulty finding parking lot (limited free lots). Eventually did and we asked to sit outside. Bee was quick to set up table for us. However there were people standing nearby smoking and we changed to a table inside after placing our order. We liked that it was not crowded (guess cos it was a Tuesday evening?) and aircon wasn’t too cold. We liked the music played but felt it was a tat too loud. The other ‘noise’ that was quite irritating was the squeak the main door made when it rubbed against the floor each time it opens (and it happened quite many times as they had take aways and delivery pick-ups whilst we were there). Wondered why it wasn’t addressed/repaired). Hvg said the above, we thoroughly enjoyed the meal: soup, main courses, dessert and coffee in a rather cozy ambience with pleasant service. We would return (likely soon) to try the other selection! Kudos to the chefs and Bee!

calamari portion was really little for $22, was pretty much tasteless so we had to ask for salt & pepper. pastas were alright but not out of this world delicious, but it was good that we could choose our preferred pasta types. service was great though! service staff were attentive and refilled our waters without us asking. overall, food is quite pricey & mediocre but service is well done :)

Yelp
Meh. This was not close to us but was highly recommended. So we made the trek. The food was okay. And I genuinely mean- it wasn't bad! It wasn't the very best Italian I've had, but it was fine. Thing is, it's pretty pricy and the wine by the glass selection was very limited. Personally, I will probably continue my Italian food quest elsewhere, but I would list it the top . . . twenty. Maybe. Service was very good!

Yelp
Cacio e Pepe is a hidden gem tucked away in Hillview District serving authentic Italian cuisine using quality ingredients. Many times when we were having breakfast just at the stretch of shophouses, we spoke about making plans here and finally we are here. From words of mouth, we knew that pasta here was something that we should not give a miss and even before entering the restaurant, the number of articles plastered on their glass door had revealed several media reports. You will be surprise that in this quiet area, the 50 pax restaurant during night time is lively. Due to our impromptu decision (as always), we did not make any reservation and was "punished" to take the non reserved seat at the Alfresco area way back into the restaurant. Though it was equip with powerful fan blowing towards us, the weather was still very hot and humid. While waiting for our order, toasts was efficiently served with vinegar and oil on the wooden board. Soup of the day was cream of broccoli with a piece of fried cheese tucked by the side of it. There was moderate taste of greens here luckily and was quite appetizing indeed. Zuppa Del Giorno - Soup of the Day - $8 Quite a number of pasta item on the menu was recommended by staff on duty and the method of preparation of Linguine al Cartoccio as explained by her had impressed us. Pasta was cooked to al dente perfection with seafood like crayfish, mussel, clams, calamari, prawns and home made marinara sauce and was then placed in a baking bag and baked. Linguine al Cartoccio - $24 The 2nd part of the preparation (baking) actually brings out the rich flavours of the sea. I came to realise this when the baking paper was opened right in front of my eyes. The hitting sound of meat from the kitchen had indeed make the pork loin tender breaking the fibres in the meat. Scaloppine di Maiaie alla Romana (Pan Fried Pork with Mozzarella) - $24 Besides being a thin slice and tender, it uniqueness comes with the combination of Mozzarella cheese, parma ham and sage accompanied with potatoes and mix salad. We didnt get the chance to try out their pizza as they mentioned that the kitchen could not cope with the efficiency during crowded timing. Thus we ended up ordering desserts before we bid good bye. Tiramisu - $12 Couple with Cocoa Powder and yummy pillow soft mascapone cheese. Every mouthful of the dessert is to die for! You get a tinge of zesty citrus flavour in between the taste of cheese and cappuccino here. With 3 distinctive texture, you get to enjoy the middle portion of the dessert without soaking up with Cappacino and got a good taste of the spongy madness. Totally Yummy! Service was professional and friendly. Our ice water was promptly topped up even though we were the only customers in the Alfresco area. Too bad that we did not get to try the pizza this time, I guess I will be back for them!

Yelp
Food was generally okay, service was great. Small and cozy, hidden from the crowd restaurant. My sister like the tiramisu but I found it so so. We order squid ink risotto, which we found the rice a bit too hard for our liking, truffle sauce cream pasta was great, pizza was great too. Would recommend u to go if u wan to go food with less crowd
