Cackle & Oink BBQ

Had an incredible meal at Cackle & Oink BBQ. The brisket was perfectly smoked — tender, juicy, and packed with that deep Texas flavor. The sides were just as satisfying, and the whole place had that warm, no-frills BBQ joint vibe. This is Texas barbecue done right.

Will not be the best BBQ in Texas, but they are very good in the area. The ribs, brisket and spicy sausage are all delicious. The service is friendly and excellent.

Got the 2 meat plate with a few ribs added to try them. They were the best ribs I've had for a long time! Nice, moist, and meaty! Perfectly seasoned and absolutely no sauce necessary. Brisket was great with nice bark. The pork was great and all of the sauces paired great with it. This is a must try if you are visiting the area. I'll definitely be back with an appetite!

A really good no frills bbq joint. We had the brisket, jalapeno sausage, baked beans, and green beans. The meats were the star but it was all delicious and everyone was so kind. Kanyon helped us with our order and deciding what to try, and Brittany went above and beyond checking on us and bringing us to go supplies!

We stopped at this lil place on our way home today and sure glad we did! The food was delicious, service was great, we got our food after just a few mins, it was hot, sliced brisket had enuf flavor that you dont need bbq sauce!!! It was nice out and my husband and I sat outside,enjoyed our lunch and listened to some goods tunes!! I cant remember all their names but they all deserve a rave!!

This is by far our favorite place!! Kanyon was super sweet and such a hard worker! We always seem to miss Aaron. The meats are so delicious we can never just pick one!! That jalapeño cornbread casserole is so yummy too!! This was all that was left!! 😂🐷

Driving through and discovered THIS amazing place. Got the suggestion from Wes who told me to go with the plate of ribs if it was one item I had to eat….absolutely DID NOT disappoint! Tasty, fall off the bone, and simply delicious meat. Corn was fantastic and BBQ beans were very good. Nice cup of homemade ice tea to go with it. I ended up saving a few ribs for the wife but they may not make it home if I can’t get any leftover meat that was left between the teeth…..

Absolutely amazing experience! The food was incredible — everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. You can really taste the quality and care in every bite. The portions were generous, and every dish we tried was delicious. Our server, Cass, was fantastic! She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Her positive attitude and great service really made our visit even better. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend

Foods good Prices at a little on the high side , but they have lunch specials & such. Cute & trendy dining room. You order at the counter, they bring it to you. Get your own drinks.

Love the atmosphere here! Cozy and full of interesting decor. The staff is very friendly and helpful - this was our first time here based on a friend's referral. We ordered the Big Texan - beef brisket and smoked sausage. Also ordered their famous and award winning pork ribs. The brisket was a little dry but still tender and flavorful. The smoked sausage was really good, nice heat on it from the black pepper. I give it a strong 4 out of five for my taste. The ribs won me over, especially paired with their Sweet Willie BBQ sauce. I gave it a 5 star! It was cooked perfectly and the caramelized glaze was delicious. I also loved the Jalapeño cornbread casserole! The other side was coleslaw which I rate as average. All in all, it made my top 3 of out of 30 BBQ places I've been to here in Texas!

Today's lunch stop, Cackle & Oink BBQ! Found this place on Yelp and thankful for this recommendation. Definitely a line and busy inside but for good reason. But staff is quick to accommodate and make sure experience is top notch. Aaron was the man for sure. Went with the black and tan plate with jalapeno cornbread casserole and baked beans added a smoked sausage. Wow! I enjoyed every bite. Bbq sauce not necessary at all but they have delicious options there too. Tried the Plano and Sweet Willie's. The cornbread and ribs were showstoppers. I need this cornbread recipe! All I know is every plate in front of my family was completely clean. A testament to a fantastic meal. And thanks again to Aaron and all of the friendly staff. This is a place to be proud of!

I am gluten free, so the meal featured is what I could eat here/tried here. The flavor was pretty good, although a little salty. I enjoyed trying the different sauces. The space is a little small & ran cold, so I will probably take it to go next time. Unfortunately the girl at the counter was pretty rude as well, which made asking for anything extra (to go set ups to be exact) awkward & unwelcoming. Other than that, I enjoyed it!

Outstanding service from Kaydia and Aaron today. They were really busy at this meet little BBQ joint. This was our first visit but won't be our last. We both had the black and tan sandwich. The brisket was tender and flavorful. Don't remember what else was on it but it was GOOD. I also ordered an ala carte rib. That rib was delicious. The fat was marbled and tasty and the rib meat tender and falling off the bone. Trust the process - there was an open table by the time we got through the line.

The absolute best food!! Like everything we ordered was delicious!! Customer service was 10/10! Brittany was so so sweet!! Fun BBQ joint atmosphere! Desperately wish we had one where we live!!

Our first-time visit, and C & O did not disappoint. Hubby had the Cackle & Oink and really enjoyed it, especially the sausage. I ordered the 1/4 Chicken with a side of green beans and a side of Black-eyed peas, and a "small" slice of peach cobbler. The chicken was so tender it fell off the bone when I picked it up to eat. Too much to eat at once, so we packed up our leftovers for dinner. Excellent eating times 2!! Not only does the food shine at this place, so does the staff. Cassidy graciously answered our questions, kindly took our order, and towed the company line when it came to serving sizes, especially the cobbler--huge helping. We come to this area to fly fish the Texoma tailrace, Loy Lake, and to tye flies at the annual Red River Rendezvous. How we've missed this place is beyond us, but we've added it to our list, so we'll miss it no more.

This place is great! My coworker and I were driving through to a training. This spot popped up recommended and glad we stopped. I'm from Arizona, this bbq hits different. So good. Looking forward to more bbq in this state. Staff is friendly and helpful. Environment is very welcoming and a lot of things to look at while enjoying great food.

This place has Great food and a fun environment. I had the lunch special including a sausage sandwich with a side of cabbage. It was sooo yummy. I want to call out Cassidy for her cheerful personality and Great service. I plan to come back.

I have eaten here a few times. It's probably my favorite BBQ restaurant in the Texoma area. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Being from the home of the World Championship BBQ Cooking Contest, Memphis, TN, I am very picky about BBQ but Cackle and Oink has some fantastic BBQ. They have several options for sides, some are your traditional bbq sides as slaw, baked beans, potato salad, but they also have some more unique sides like Jalapeño popper potato salad and jalapeno cornbread casserole. Picked up a family dinner today to take home for family that was in from out of town and Amy helped us decide what sides we wanted. She has helped us before and is always friendly! If you're in the area and looking for some fantastic bbq, give Cackle and Oink a try, you won't be disappointed!

Service is okay. I've been here 3 or 4 times for lunch and the brisket is so bad that I bring it to my dogs. The baked potatoes are fine, but even the rest of the proteins are sub par. The reviews are skewed due to saying a $5 tip will be given to an employee mentioned in a 5 star review. This BBQ isn't good. Now way the brisket wins any award. IF Spring Creek BBQ is a 2.5 star - this place is 2 stars

Amy took care of me and she was so funny I loved her attitude and recommended the best ribs ever to me I'm definitely coming back again best ribs and best sausages the sauces were amazing too she told me to try this mustardy bbq sauce and it tasted so good

It was the hot sauce that drew me to this old Taco Bell converted to a world-class award-winning BBQ joint, Cackle and Oink BBQ. Their motto, "Cookin' Butt & Takin' Names!" To return home with a bottle of Hawg Nasty was the mission. How convenient, Cackle and Oink BBQ is easy to access in Sherman, just a few blocks east of US 75 on Texoma Parkway. Our timing was perfect, the lunch crowd had cleared out and we scored a table inside. This is one of the old, old original Taco Bells. They were small buildings, seating is limited. If you are not at the restaurant early for lunch or late, plan on eating outside. Tables surround the building for overflow dining. Get in line, place your order, the food is quickly delivered to your table. House made BBQ sauce is available to satisfy your taste preference, sweet, hot and even some Carolina Mustard style. The food is fabulous, delicious meats, excellent sides. I had the pulled pork. My wife had the jalapeno sausage. We both had black-eyed peas and the jalapeno corn bread casserole for our sides. Large portions of meat! Award winning BBQ, friendly service, easy access. Grab a bottle of Hawg Nasty to take home!

Based on Yelp reviews, I had decided to eat here before, and I was impressed at that time. It had been a while since I was in Sherman at mealtime, but I was passing through again, so I went there again, and I was blown away at how good it was. I asked for moise sliced beef, and they said they would do the best they could. Their best was the best I have ever had. Their baked beans were unusual and exceptionally good. I'll be back!

Stopped by while in town running some errands. Had a brisket sandwich w/ potato salad and beans. It was sooo good. The potato salad is like a deviled egg potato salad. The beans and brisket were also delicious. They have 3 sauces to suit everyone's taste - sweet , regular or spicy. Jennifer in the dining room was friendly and helpful. Will definitely return !!

Our family stopped for lunch with our dog so we had to sit outside and eat. We bought the family meal and sat outside on the patio table. They didn't ask if it was to go or dine in, which I thought was weird. After ordering we asked for water cups, and the lady at the register made a face. Then we went outside and waited for our food. Once they brought out our food on the patio, we realized they didn't give us plates to eat. So we went back in to ask for 4 plates and then she told us that no utensils or plates are provided for the family meal. She proceeded to charge us $3 for 4 styrofoam plates. Then later on my dad checked his bank statement and they actually charged us $10 for 4 styrofoam plates. How did they expect us to eat without plates??? I just don't understand what restaurant charges for plates. I've never felt the need to leave a bad review but this was truly an awful experience! Between the disrespect toward a customer and nickel-and-diming us over disposable plates, the whole experience left a bad taste and we definitely felt unwelcome there. There are plenty of BBQ spots in Texas. I'd strongly recommend choosing literally any of the others.

My go to place for baby-back ribs, I don't know of any other bbq place that serves them. Service is "always" friendly. Comfortable ambiance, family friendly.

Delicious smoked brisket and pork was prepped and served up to us by Kaydia, ROM, Desi, Amy, and Karlin! The sides- beans and tater salad were generous and tasty! The cornbread was fresh, warm, and dropping corn kernels everywhere! Donna and I finished it all off with a peach cobbler! If you come to Sherman, TX, this is a must for a BBQ lover!

Pricing is great here. Amy was very sweet and helpful up at the front. We had the brisket spuds, pulled pork sandwich and 5 ribs and everything tasted great. The cowboy beans were good and spicy and the potatoe salad helped cool it all off. Rib sauce had a sweet taste to it, and was nice and tender. We topped it off with some peach cobbler and ice cream. It tasted fresh, wasn't my favorite, but I am a peach cobbler snob.

My wife and I go camping one week a month, and one of my favorite things to do is try the local barbecue. This month we camped at Eisenhower State Park near Denison, Texas. Cackle & Oink had great reviews, so that's where I went. I have to say this place is worth the hype. The brisket is among the best I have ever had, having such a nice flavor that you don't really need sauce on it. The baby back ribs are also top notch. They are tender and juicy, with a smoky sweet flavor. My only complaint would be that my ribs had a bit too much fat on them. I just scraped some of that off, and they were great. If I'm ever near Sherman, Texas again, I will definitely go back to Cackle & Oink. Texas barbecue doesn't get much better than this.

Cackle & Oink saved my marriage...or at least saved me from an afternoon of listening to my father in law yammer on and on about how to properly cook a burger. 26 years I have had to brace myself for the discussion about proper meat to fat ratios and the perfect color of grey for charcoal. Not this time!! Nope! Cackle and Oink hooked us up with an amazing mix of brisket, sausage and ribs. All cooked to perfection and the sides were amazing. After unpacking I heard the same whine about "store bought cornbread isn't the same" until "someone" took a taste test and then it got quiet. Cornbread was fantastic, the beans were delicious and I enjoyed it all in peace. Best lunch I have had with my in-laws.

Bucket list BBQ when in the Texoma area. Consistently excellent service and food. It's close to home and always a treat. Even when busy, the staff has its act together and food is hot and quickly served. Lunch is busy even during the week. Dining room is full, but there is always someone keeping tables cleared, cleaned, and ready for another guest. It's not a fancy restaurant. It's not supposed to be. It's clean, well worn, and well kept. It's American BBQ for cryin' out loud.

Aaron working the front is fantastic, knows all the regulars by name and is very informative and honest on his sources of food. Now he says he gives 1st named employees 5 dollars for every 5 star review or if it's him he gives it to a worker behind the scenes. So AARON, here is a 5 star make sure someone that needs a little encouragement gets 5 dollars.

I will start off with the food is normally pretty good but the service isn't always the best. I have a short lunch time and I call in to place an order to go. Today they left out my meat...again. Another time they gave me the incorrect meat (they gave beef instead of pork and I am allergic to beef) and of course I don't have time to check it in the drive thru and find out once I get back to work.

The service here is impeccable. Incredibly patient and kind. Very helpful. The cornbread casserole is amazing. Do not skip this!! I ordered the brisket and it was a little dry. I was t a fan of all the fat that should have been cooked out more or cut off. It's possible the meat was not cooked low enough to render that fat. The bbq sauces are spot on and delicious. My friends had the fall off the bone ribs, chicken and sausage. All were delicious. Loved the baked beans.

Order at the counter and wait to get your basket of food, sit at tables inside. The establishment had unique decor and inviting. I had The Big Texan(brisket snd sausage with potato salad and corn bread casserole). The brisket was extremely dry with no visible smoke ring. Not much flavor and had to use a lot of sauce to eat it. Sausage was ok, nothing that special though. Potato salad was good. Corn bread casserole was good too. It was basically corn bread mix with a can of cream of corn. I really wanted to like this place, but I just cannot with the brisket being so dry.
