Cactus Cafe Cantina, Jericho Turnpike

Came here for lunch. Jonathan was very helpful in pointing out specials and promoting restaurant overall. Though he was behind the bar, he came to our table frequently to make sure everything was to our liking. Austin, our server, was equally friendly and attentive. Bright dining room. Fun crowd. We will be coming back, and holding our Back-to-School Luncheon here!

First time ordering from this place and probably won’t be ordering again. I placed my order on the website and for it to be delivered. I should have picked it up myself. My order was incorrect, I called immediately and went to the restaurant to get it fixed. The place is super cute from the outside. Love the popping color. The inside looked clean, the first guy that came out of the kitchen smiled and said hi. He saw that I brought my food and his face changed and he looked annoyed. A second person comes out and I start to explain what was wrong. And immediately I felt attacked, like I was wrong. Basically it was going back and forth until they took it to the back and started making me my food correctly. Got my food and went home to feed my family. We were all excited to try a new place and it was a disappointment. The food was bland(QDOBA’S burrito has more flavor than this place.) Half of my food was cold since I had to go get the other half fixed. So overall, my food was wrong, cold, bland and on top of that the customer is wrong in their eyes. Hope you guys better your service and the food. Good luck with your restaurant.

Hey Joe, I was told your the guy at this location and I was told there was no manager to speak with, About my visit it was unacceptable, my food came back wrong and skimpy To be specific, the margarita machine was out of order the evening I visited , and me and my wife both ... BOTH , ask for no peppers or onion in your burritos , so weird why would 1 come back wrong with the peppers. Also your FAKE FALSE ADVERTISEMENT on your TVs buy 2 burritos and get a 3rd offer was denied and I was told it's not as advertised... I wonder how many other deals your not honoring , I dont plan to come back for the 3 tacos on a full moon for 1 dollar each , I'll probably arrive with 9 dollars to feed my family and get denied the promotion ..... so thanks but no thanks, thats bad business even if its not meant intentionally. Let's get into my burrito ishh, you will see my photo of the miniscule amount of rice in my burritos .. looked like a garnish , luckily the server did understand my dilemma here and she got me a side of rice to compensate for the cooks lack and attention to detail. Sorry but I pay a lot of money to each, it should not come looking insignificant. Smdm... Will update post if anything if to transpire from here on out

Lunch special was a great deal and the food was delicious. I got the Carne Asada Quesadilla and my wife got the chicken Quesadilla. It came with a soup and drink. We added on a small nachos which was well sized. I appreciate the fast service in the middle of a work day. Will def be coming back for drinks and dinner soon!

I am a regular customer at the Huntington on Main Street location. Today we decided to try the new cactus on Jericho turnpike in Huntington station. Ordered online. Kids mean with apple juice And an adult lunch special two taco one. With a starry soda. Upon entering I asked for the order. Handed it to me. I asked if the soda and juice is in there. He said yes. I trusted him. Got home, no apple juice for my daughter and a clear can. Just a can with a very watered down starry. So that is upsetting. Kids drink missing. Also I asked if he had salsa , he said yes I’m the fridge. Went to the fridge did not see salsa. Only an orange and green sauce. So I had to explain what salsa was. Then he said no. Another man jumped in and said pico? I said okay that’s fine. Got home about a 8 min drive away. All the food was cold, taco was soggy and yucky. Lettuce all mush. I will not be returning to this location. I will remain going to the main st location. It’s also more inviting and warm. This location’s feels kinda cold and not inviting.

The latest addition of Cactus Cafes in Huntington is named the Cactus Café Cantina. This establishment is somewhat smaller than the majority, yet it features a pleasant bar area and indoor seating. They provide an appealing lunch special that includes an entrée and soup. We savored a Quesadilla along with tortilla soup. The quality of the food and the service were excellent. Parking can be somewhat limited, but patience is advised.

Fish tacos were great as well as chicken enchiladas. Spicy margarita was pretty spicy, tasty. Server was attentive even though she wasn’t familiar with menu items. Atmosphere was not great. Fluorescent bright lights, then spot lights, the string lights. Way too bright and way too loud for any kind of vibe. We had to repeat everything to our server bc she couldn’t hear us. I wouldn’t come back but would probably try take out.

Such a friendly welcoming environment! The bartender at the restaurant is exceptional, offering outstanding service with a friendly and welcoming attitude. They have a deep knowledge of cocktails and are skilled at crafting personalized drinks. Their ability to engage with guests and create a vibrant atmosphere enhances the dining experience. Overall, the bartender Jose’s expertise and charm make the bar the highlight of the restaurant.

Now I'm going to make myself clear here, I've ordered from here, I've ordered from the other location but I originally started eating cactus cafe in 2011 when I worked in the glen cove area. Since then, they have been one of the most amazing spots ever. Great food, a variety of options, so many specials and amazing service. Every person that works at all these locations has always been friendly. I haven't dined in at the new one yet but from what I see they have a full bar and the ambience looks great. Their steak is always perfectly cooked, medium rare, juicy most and packed with flavor. All of their meat options are absolutely delicious. They are limited on the sauces they provide but I am so happy they are consistent throughout. I've had their burritos, their wings, their enchiladas their chicken you name it. You will always see me here as this will remain one of my consistent places to dine in or for take out.

I've been dying to try this place since it opened up in the neighborhood last year and turns out, I was pretty disappointed. I decided to go here on a Tuesday night with intentions of a taco Tuesday type deal, when I go there, I was actually surprised to see that they don't offer anything like that. They do have other deals, but nothing I was interested in. When I walked in, I sat at the and was greeted by staff who were very nice. I ordered chips & guac, a carne asada taco, a smoked pulled pork taco, and jalapeño cornbread. They all came out at the same time and fairly quick. The chips and guac were pretty good. The jalapeño cornbread was delicious and was probably the best part of my meal, the tacos....not so great. The carne asada was chewy and had little flavor. The pulled pork taco was dry and had no flavor. I wasn't impressed at all. Overall, the place is clean and well decorated. It was also busy for a Tuesday night. I don't mind giving it another shot.

Greetings fellow Yelpers, It took a while to open this location. I attended a soft opening tonight. Friends I am with enjoyed the food Monday special BOGO enchiladas. I will update review after I have food. Jess & John at the bar are both on point! Grilled Ahi Tuna was quite tasty and had a pleasant after kick. It did get a tad soggy towards the end as seen in the photo. More to come!

Came here with a friend for a quick bite and everything was great. The young man at the front was very helpful and friendly. Loved sitting at the bar. The fries were hot and fresh, and the tacos were delicious..my friend couldn't stop raving about hers too. Will definitely be back soon!

First time at this location, used to go to glen cove years ago. Decided to try out a brisket taco and the soup. The taco was very small as was the cup of soup. However... I remember glen cove the meat wasn't great so didn't have high expectations. As I bit into the taco my eyes sprung wide open as the juices of the brisket enveloped my taste buds. I had to double check my phone to make sure I wasn't back in Texas. Unbelievable. Getting probably 6 of those next time. The chicken corn chowder. They have been doing this right since the beginning. Creamy, nice tingle of heat and plenty of chicken. Simply delicious. Text updates on the order were on point. The interior of the space is nice and spacious. Well themed. Full vat. Some place that I would love to sit down for a meal at. A must visit!

Newer cactus cafe. They started participating in full moon madness however their policy of having to purchase a full price item to get the deal feels like a slap in the face to years of tradition. Especially when inflation is hitting the community so hard. Disappointing to say the least

Warm friendly welcoming restaurant/staff. Affordable , accessible and delicious. Great music playing A few tips: I need some napkins, a little more sauce, refill my drinks and your food. Centrally located off 25/25a/northern st and lie. A must visit.

Food was good but... I asked for blk beans they gave me refried which really make me gag so I could only eat a portion of my enchilada meal. Tasted good though. Also left out the guacamole I ordered and paid for. Overall enjoyed...just a little disappointed :)

The burritos are fresh and the surf and turf is my favorite. New location staff is very pleasant. I have ordered two times since 3/4/25. Second time the burrito was mushy and had to try to eat with a fork. The first time burritos were firm easy to grab and eat. Yesterday was soft cheesy but loose not compacted.

Needed a quick bite for lunch and popped in here. AMAZING food and service. Jose at the bar makes a fabulous margarita! The music and decor is festive! Definitely worth a stop

This is a "sit down " place, Very friendly staff but I asked about the "arroz con pollo" because it said add chicken lol the name says chicken and rice, he said it included chicken. Then we go ahead and place our order when the food comes a plate of rice and "chicken" comes out with it lol but whatever miscommunication happens but then I saw they added the chicken to the bill lol there was barely any chicken, new place So I'm sure new staff that will get better but no water refills for a sit down place that now we're expected to tip on eh. Food was good again staff was friendly and enthusiastic im sure they will be great but I'd def skip on the arroz con pollo lol wouldn't even ask about it. I'd prob shoot for the other hunnington location but I'll try it again down the line and adjust review

The food was overall bad, no cheese at all in my quesadillas, burrito was too overcooked, no flavor at all, nachos were overcooked too to the point where it felt like eating rocks and the buffalo wings were undercooked, not flavorful either. Service was alright, they barely acknowledged me even though I was the only one there and the ambiance was alright too. First and last time coming here, Never coming here again.

I have been waiting months for breakfast at this place tired of doing a McDonald's breakfast burrito. Their sign says breakfast but still no breakfast. I went in there over two months ago. The guy said Breakfast is coming. Well .....

Will never go back- live close loved it when they first opened with good experienced bartenders and good food. Now cutting corners, children for bartenders who over serve, I got food poisoning from here also. I waited for an order and saw the chef pick up a chicken tender from the floor & put back into fry bucket. Tonight I sent a drink back for being too strong- later a man fell to the ground for being too drunk - the mother of the bartender was at the bar and started yelling at me that some people can't handle strong drinks and the drinks are all measured the same- that is incorrect- my drink was remade and fine. I quote "are you trying to be nice I'm not looking to get drunk on a Sunday" sending a man home intoxicated is a crime and god help the people on the road with this man who was served from this restaurant. Wake up, hire qualified professionals to run your restaurant safely.

The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered on Uber Eats and got their buy one crispy chicken taco get one free. The chicken was very crispy and the lettuce,cheese,tomato, onion was a great accompaniment. I ordered the fajita platter that comes with grilled charred onions/peppers, rice, black beans, sour cream, shredded cheese, pico, 3 flour tortillas and their amazing green sauce which is a little spicy but flavorful and delicious. Rice could've been seasoned a bit more however their sauces adds the much needed flavor. You have a choice of which protein you would like to add so I selected grilled chicken. The chicken was tender, juicy and cooked to perfection. This place is way better than Chipotle! Can't believe I've been driving past this place for so long and never gave it a try. Glad I finally did and I'll definitely be back!

I did take out and ordered online. Can I please know why I ordered two grilled chicken burritos with no changes only to get a buffalo chicken AND the actual ordered grilled chicken burrito? Buffalo chicken is a wrap not a burrito and it was horrible. This was my birthday dinner too - not good! My husband gave me some of the actual one I ordered but I was already nauseous. So much wasted food! I was so happy they don't over salt the food but I did find it lacked overall flavor. The chips were great! But I think that's the only part of the $90 meal I enjoyed.

Excellent food excellent service Jose the bartender was also very personable and hustling making sure his patrons were taken care of Definitely an asset to Cactus Cafe Highly recommended

My 4th time here food is good and prices are great ! Monday night bar was packed and so was the restaurant so service was good our waiter was on point and very friendly definitely under staffed for how busy they were but the staff handled it well my only complaints were the nacho chips they were thick and hard and not very good they were just ok but other things made up for it

Love this place. Food is solid. Prices are reasonable. We've sampled many menu items- the bowls, burritos, & tacos. I wish the Fajitas sizzled. House-made tortilla chips remind me of the delicious ones they served at Green Cactus (I miss them!)- nearly perfect without salt. The bar can get loud. Custom cocktails are top-notch. This place also needs better napkins- the ones they use seem like cheap store brand ones. Don't get your napkins from Dollar Tree! Stronger ones- or cloth ones would be a great improvement. One issue: Put a wall (one of those moveable ones) or curtain in front of the bathrooms. When you sit in the back & someone opens the bathroom door, you'll get a full view of a toilet while you're eating. Limited space, I know, but there needs to be a barrier there. Everything is so appetizing- while a commode is anything but. Or blow out the walls in the back & add bathrooms, then you could fit more seating where the bathrooms are now. Moveable wall with a Mexican-themed curtain would look nice & improve the esthetics. Nice staff. Kill the lousy loud reggaeton music...it's not good music for dining. Put a bathroom wall up!

Good food , ordered 3 times and each time I got notified my food was ready , at the counter I see me food is ready but had to wait for the 3-4 people in front of me to order before they would get my food ,,, one time no one was behind counter and I waited over 10 mins to get my food
