Cute and super cozy shop. Never judge a book by its cover. Great workers there that are super knowledgeable about the plants. Bought the little dorstenia foetida.

When you first look at this building, you get a glimpse of an old paint store. Inside, the antiquated wood beams were worth saving, and you can't never tell a store by it's old facade. If you like Cactus plants, they have an Impressive Cactus emporium with decorative artisan vases; a bamboo garden yard, delicate incense sticks and much more. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Stumbled upon this quaint cactus shop while wandering around LES. Fun setup with a variety of plants and a few potters. Staff was knowledgable and approachable.

I've purchased six plants here, two of which brought pests into my home and died shortly thereafter (mealybugs, at the base of the plants but concealed by gravel soil topper). The shop looks very cool and they carry exotic succulents that are hard to find elsewhere, but they're overpriced and are not as healthy as they look. The plants that survived had weak root systems & required repotting quickly after coming home. I really wanted to like this shop, but can't suggest anyone shop here unless they're prepared to waste a lot of money.

♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ CACTUS STORE ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ Hey guys, just left one of my fav Lower Eastside spots, the 'Cactus Store', and just like every time, wen I left, I have 2 say I was most def in a much better mood than b4 i went in. Not only is the outdoor (main part) of the facility just so awesome and relaxing, but the staff is super gr8 as well (shout out 2 u especially John! U've helped me so much, and i was just a stranger to start that just happened 2 pass by and, thankfully, noticed the beauty that is 'the Cactus Store'. hopefully our small chats have put me, obv not in the friend category, but I'd hope I'm seen as an "acquaintance" by now, lol. I'm the real tho, things u might consider as not a big deal (a cutting here and there, or a sik plant that just needed some luv n attention) have truly had a positive impact on my health/spiritual healing. So again, I thanku J, and I know only good things r gonna b coming ur way. Anywayz, people, trust, if u find urself in chinatown and have even 15mns to kill, STOP IN THIS SPOT! Bet u'll end up staying hella longer than the original planned 15mns. I wish I had some better pics, I guess I can edit l8r, but I saw some of the other reviews,... there's gr8 pics a plenty. What else can I say but, go to the Cactus Store if u wanna enjoy something diff. And peeps don't b shy w the wallet... there's obv affordable stuff, but if ur in the market for something to truly MAKE a room, know that for just 2 or 3 hundred bux u can walk out w something that can 'make' the decor of ur house or office for possibly decades. I'm my opinion, wen it comes to cacti and most other succ's, it's so worth spending that much more and getting something that's already matured, rather than a baby that can b accidentally killed a bit easier. *Sorry, last thing, sooo very important tho.... the very best 'tip' I'd give 2 someone (other than, to GO there), is 2 grab a bottle of this tincture they sell, it's uber popular in Cali, dare I even say famous in our horticulture circle. It's called 'Super Kabuto, cactus and succulent fertilizer' (is liquid, I think the small glass jar was 20 bux, might've been 10, I bought it like 3yrs ago and there's still ⅓ left. Pls, pls, pls, so urself the favor and pik up a bottle. (and I use it on more than cacti and succ's, all my plants get it, at a smaller dose, but all get it. Even my pothos, which an infant could grow, gets a dose every 3 months.)*

I am normally very skeptical of places with overpriced plants but my first visit here left me in awe. A very special place with super helpful staff that repotted my cactus beautifully beyond my expectations. Will come back again.

Yelp
There is no better cactus, succulent, plant store in the Tristate area. Nothing is even close. This place is full of beautiful rare and exotic cacti. The staff are the most knowledgeable people in the world of xerophilia. If you're in the area you should just stop in and see this little oasis.

Yelp
Growing up in Southern California, places like Cactus Store give me a small taste of home in the middle of New York City. Back for a second year, the LA-based pop up has an incredible assortment of succulents and cacti that will immediately bring summer vibes to your apartment, no matter how many thunderstorms ruin your commute to work. Big, small, cute and tiny--there's an option for every taste, and lots of friendly customer service to guide you in the right direction. A botanist probably doesn't need to tell you that the Northeast isn't the best climate for these plants, so time is of the essence. Get your hands on their stuff before they pack up for the west coast in a couple of months.

Yelp
Come through the gates and bamboo, and take a look at the wonderful succulents, cacti, and tropical plants available to add to home. I always passed by without notice the eccentric store. The staff care loads about their plants and are very knowledgeable and helpful, even for beginners. Got ourselves some haworthias and more exotic plants and plenty of tips on their care, and not before browsing for hours. Won't be seeing any of these plants on the east coast, as they're shipped from the west coast and nursed at the store. Even if not interested in a purchase, there's plenty of exotic plants to look at and admire. Store will be closing in September, so make sure to come before. Prices are a bit high, but given you won't see them anywhere else, and the care that is provided for them, it's justifiable.

Yelp
About to drop a truthbomb on y'all (Collectors, afficionados, crazy plant people aside) Enter this space knowing that you know nothing Accept that you may have been lied to before regarding plants You will get sticker shock and I want you to know why. It is because the floor price of plants has been artificially dropped by the big box retailers and at the same time artificially raised by Mom and pop selling standard plants and trying to make a living. (I'm not smashing on them with their overpriced basic sansevierias we all gotta eat I get it) This results in the fact that nobody really knows what a good price for a living plant friend (and that IS what you're buying, I hope you know) should be. But these, my friend, these are not your standard plants. The fine folks at cactus store are interested in the very old the very rare the very unique (ugh redundant I know. As my grandmother would say, something can be unique but it can't be very unique, by definition) the very mutated the very bizarre. There are specimens here that you'll never see again in your life. There are little buddies that have had good lives thus far and will whisper to you to take them home and continue the ride. Open your heart ask a million questions and convert the price into bottles of wine or spin classes or Uber rides and feel good about taking home someone very special from a tribe of very special folks.

Yelp
The lifesaver of all cacti in NYC has arrived! We visited the store to ask about out cacti with the photos to get advice, and Han was very friendly and super knowledgeable about all cacti! After getting all advices we wanted, we just could not leave bringing some small pots of cacti with us, as they have very unique and beautiful cacti-- tons of variety! This pop-up store is available only until November, so if you love cacti, you should go now! p.s. they sell cool shirts, too!

Yelp
Thank you John and Adrian! Had a great time talking with you about plants! The store has great variety and many of the plants are decently priced for their size. This would be a fun trip to take with your friends.

Yelp
Finally managed to check out this spot after following them on Instagram for forever. Cactus store is a cactus lovers dream! Growing up in the Southwest it was wonderful to see some familiar plants I hadn't seen since I moved to New York, and plenty of ones I'd never heard of as well. Their strength is really in how many rare varieties they have, as well as some rather large iconic varieties that you wouldn't be able to find anywhere else in NYC. It's not super budget friendly due to the rarity of a lot of their product but I was able to find a small plant for thirty bucks which they repotted for me and made look very nice. Very friendly staff and when I have a bigger budget I will definitely be coming back for more plants. FYI they are only here each year until late October.
