CADE Estate Winery

I was fortunate enough to do a tasting at CADE Estate. Incredible wines, genuine -and passionate- service, and an eagerness to showcase their delectable wines. I know a lot about wine, and I learned many new facts from my experience at CADE. But the education part never felt obtrusive to our desire to relax and have a good time - a delicate balance that requires picking up on cues. This time, it inspired us to discuss the wines, methods taken during production, and reasons for the complexities of a wine grown at a certain elevation above the rest of the Napa Valley with the associated viticultural stresses (read: on a slope at an elevation where the marine fog layer dissipates sooner). Excellent wines, matched with exceptional service. Can't go wrong. It's up there near a peak (as the name of Howell Mountain's AVA should imply), so factor that into your travel plans and don't be late. You'll be rewarded for being a good guest with additional pours of wine I ended up purchasing. CADE knows what they are doing and is pushing the envelope. For example, you can purchase screw tops OR traditionally corked bottles of the exact same wine. I don't know of many other, if any other, wineries that do this, and this producer creates some of the best juice I've tasted. I brought home the corked options, but a few years later, I would prefer the screw top for longer-term cellaring. Great juice, team. Thanks.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Must-Visit Winery with Incredible Wine and Even Better Hospitality! Let’s start with the fact that we may have gotten a little lost on the way (who knew Google Maps wasn’t a sommelier?), but thankfully, our host at CADE Estate Winery welcomed us with open arms and a full glass—exactly how every great experience should begin. From the first sip to the last, the wines were chef’s kiss perfection. I wanted to revisit so many of them that I briefly considered “accidentally” getting lost again just for a second tasting. Each pour was better than the last, making it dangerously easy to forget time existed. But the real star of the show? Our host. If winery tours were a sport, they’d be the MVP. Charming, knowledgeable, and so engaging that we could have sat there for hours, sipping and soaking in every story about the estate. If you’re putting together a Napa tour list, CADE needs to be on it. Just don’t trust your GPS too much—getting lost might just be part of the experience!

One of the best views while tasting smooth cabs! Kevin Ferry was our tasting and tour guide and he was awesome and a fellow Chicagoan. We had the best time and would 100% recommend! Still thinking about the wine!

Worth the trip off the beaten path! The view on a clear day is truly amazing! Emmet was a wonderful host, and we found his personality fun and engaging. He brought us into the caves, and did a nice job at explaining the process and answering our questions. The wine is awesome, of course!! The depth of their reds is really something...

Amazing wines with a breathtaking view of the valley. We had a blast learning about all of the Cade wines and how they come about. Highly recommend others to try them out. Bravo!

The views from Cade were fantastic. Nancy was very welcoming, giving us a tour of the wine cellars and sharing insights into the winemaking process. The wines were excellent. I’d definitely visit again.

First of all, there is an absolutely beautiful view from the top of this amazing winery! The sampling of each wine was so appreciated and so many different types. The tour was incredibly informative and the steel table repurposed from a World War II submarine in the cave was beyond super duper cool! Great sampling area with another amazing view available! A definite highly recommended stop on your next Napa Valley getaway!

CADE is up the mountain and would recommend if you’re doing CADE, you should stick to a mountain day and visit 13th Vineyard, and some of the other wineries on the hill. This place offers spectacular views when the fog clears, and Danielle has done an excellent job with her wines at making them approachable today, versus needing to wait several years.

Such a beautiful winery. This place epitomizes contemporary. It also takes to heart sustainable construction which I deeply value. They took such time in designing the tasting room and outdoor space and you experience it when there. The tasting room views are lovely and I'd be happy to dwell in that space it's so well designed and the views so sweeping across Howell Mountain. The outdoor area has these gigantic, bright verdant trees that were so different! I loved their small leafed, electric green canopy. And the fountain is gorgeous. Arriving here you kind of inhale a bit because it's so surprisingly special and elegant. When it comes to the wine, its grapes are harvested on Howell Mountain which is also where the tasting room is situated hence the phenomenal views. I liked the wine but I only loved 1 or 2 of the bottles. Wine is so subjective though so if you have architectural interest or it's a hobby I would recommend going just for that alone. They gave us a fabulous tour of the cellars and also where they ferment the wine so we got to see the giant vats and of course here about the process. It was such a great experience. I enjoyed learning about their process and their lead wine maker (the correct name for that position I don't know) is a woman which is cool fact. This is a special place and if you're celebrating anything while visiting Napa, this is a fantastic spot to include in your tasting itinerary.

Kevin was an incredible tasting and tour guide and made our trip! CADE has one of the best views and we enjoyed their smooth cabs. Love that it came with a cheese pairing!

CADE Estate Winery was well worth the winding road through the hills to arrive at the winery. The view of the valley from the winery is breathtaking overlooking a beautiful infinity pool. Our server, Sarah was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and accommodating as to our tasting selection. The tasting included delicious chocolates and a cheese plate. Plus everything was so relaxing!

Your attitudes could improve. The most unwelcoming, unhelpful snotty people I have encountered in the this area. Sooooooo undeservingly pretentious, you could almost chuckle...

Probably one of the most amazing experiences I've had at a winery in Napa! First, it started with Nancy a host that took time to walk us through answer my plethora of questions and pour more than a healthy fair share for our wine tasting. The view is the best I've seen out of 20 or so wine tastings. We signed up for a membership, but honestly mostly because of Nancy! Really proud of this winery and their staff! It's a must go and I highly recommend the owners give her a huge bonus for Christmas.

Honestly, one of my favorite! Quite a drive up the mountain to get there but you can imagine how beautiful the views are from the top! We were greeted and seated (in my opinion) in the best seats, right in front of the giant window overlooking the mountain/valley. All the glasses were laid out as well as some crackers, cheeses, chocolate, and dried fruits. Our guide was amazing, knowledgeable, personable, and asked us questions on what we were tasting. The cheese and chocolate paired beautifully with the wines. Everything was great, would highly recommend. Overall, great atmosphere, views, wines, and people.

We had a fantastic to Cade. We were helped by Emmet who was a hospitable host. We were able to try 6 wines (1 Sauvignon blanc, 3 Cabernet Sauvignons, 1 Cabernet from Odette, and 1 merlot) and toured through their cave with amazing acoustics. The views of the mountains were great the day we visited. We were able to see Mt Diablo. Wine was great as well. I personally enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc and cade. Would recommend visiting off the beaten path.

Just left the tasting experience with Ashley ! 5 stars a great Howell mountain experience . Ashley is a great knowledgeable host , highly recommend visiting Cade estate , Generous pours and a nice charcuterie included in the price . If only other wineries can learn from Cade estate winery ! My only regret is not meeting the great wine maker Danielle ! I wanted to convince her to have me sample a few barrels ! Highly recommend visiting this estate ! Thank you Ashley and Cade estate for a great expierience !

We went around 2:30pm in July. It was still hot but not too bad. Wasn't too crowded. There was three other tastings but we had front row seating to the view. View was amazing as usual. Definitely enhances the tasting experience. Grounds beautifully unkept and maintained. We had Emmet as our Sommelier. We was really informative and welcoming. He was very laid back and set the mood for our tasting to be relaxed and comfortable. He was very knowledgeable and inquired promptly if he didn't know the answer. He made this experience the best. Hope to have him again

We had a morning tasting with Emmett to on the patio overlooking the infinity pond and the Napa valley. The view was as good as the wine and the experience. Emmett was knowledgeable and personable, he gave us so Much information about the wine, the winemaker, the Howell Mountain region and the wine. We really enjoyed our "educational experience" and will return. Cade is a "must see" if you are in the Napa valley.

Cade mountain property had a wonderful view of Napa Valley! We loved the mountain cabs. They are big, bold, medium tanic, dry. You should know that the tour is required. So if you just want to drink wine then plan on about a half hour tour. We did enjoy it and liked the underground cave. If you join, then it's one of four properties that you can do tastings. One of our very favorite wineries. We are club members at Odette which gives us tasting privileges at Plumpjack and Cade as well. This was our second time here. I've been tasting wine for 20 years or so and very serious about it for the last 10. Right now, and I think it'll be true for a while, I'm hooked on mountain fruit. I no longer think "north-south" but in terms of elevation and right now, Howell Mountain is my wine epicenter. We had been to Odette and for the heck of it, I called Cade and left a message to see if perhaps they had a cancellation. As we were pulling into another winery, I got a call from a very pleasant person saying that they did indeed have a cancellation and they could take us in 45 minutes which was perfect. TIP: Howell is well worth the trip but it is a trip. If you're in Napa proper, Rutherford or Yountville, check your Waze. You still have some driving to do. Speaking of Waze, once you get on the mountain, cell coverage is spotty so before you lose coverage, take a screen shot of the turns and distances. You'll be glad you did. Cade gives you the Howell experience in spades. While I find their cade label (with fruit from the valley floor) extremely satisfying, the CADE Howell Mountain cab is king here. The sauv blanc was also very special and (I thought) reasonably priced. The tasting experience offers the amazing views, some tantalizing bites paired with the wine and fantastic glassware. The glassware thing is a pet peeve of mine. YES it matters. For my mouth, no wine tastes great from those Libby mason jar-like glasses you get at some places. Cade has the details DOWN which makes for a very pleasant tasting. Cade's easily in my top 5 and I recommend it highly.

Last month we traveled to Napa for my 40th and unfortunately our trip took a turn for the worse when my other half got terrible food poisoning. As you can imagine, we had to cancel our reservations unexpectedly and were heartbroken about the birthday plans going off track. I called the reservations we had for the day and all the other wineries and restaurants were very understanding, refunding us fully on the spot. Cade refused to refund and would not even offer a discount on the wine tasting we did not consume. I gave them the benefit of the doubt that their team member maybe didn't know do the right thing but management would. My emails to management didn't receive a response. While this review is not about Cade's wine, I can't support a company that doesn't have more human understanding. We won't visit them on future trips and they lost our business for life. Given our service experience I'd like to recommend everyone try other wineries in the area if considering options.

Beautiful Vineyard! Great views of the Valley and amazing deep red earthy Cabs. Inside tips: 1. You usually have to do the tour to taste. 1 hour commitment ish 2. 30 min out of Yountville 3. Make sure you get the Howell Mountain location because there are 2 Cade locations 4. They have a Tesla Charger! 5. Best view in the valley

Stunning views from a uniquely sustainable and environmentally proactive winery. Appointments required but well worth the advance planning! My best friend had raved about this place, and she was also the one to introduce me to their sister winery Odette which we had visited last year. Just like Odette, we were stunned that such a breathtaking winery with incredible service allowed children AND dogs. The place is small enough that there was only one other party tasting inside, while we were seated outside (which I think is the best place to be really!) There are plush couches right in front of the infinity pool and fountain outside overlooking the valley. We ended skipping the tour because one of our geriatric dogs couldn't handle all the terrain, but the staff was super great and gave us space to lounge outside as long as wanted (including providing our two dogs with specially made dog treats literally on a carved platter). Our host Jay is also the estate supervisor and was extremely passionate about his work, the area, CADE and its sister wineries. He was informative and easy going - and gave us just the right amount of wine guidance balanced with privacy to enjoy the scenery. Definitely plan to return with family, friends, and anyone willing to make the journey!

The wine was great; Bull was epic. I'd come back every weekend just for his incredible stories and wine expertise. Of all my tastings in the area, the visit to Cade stands out not only for the architecture and wine, but for the feeling that you're having a drink with a Napa valley original. If you're into views - Cade has those too.

Fabulous experience with Ashley for a small group tasting and tour. Exceptional views and wines with a great cheese and fruit plate to accompany the tasting. Ashley was very knowledge and the tour was so appreciated!

The drive up to this beautiful winery is amazing and once you arrive, the views are magnificent. We were set up to taste overlooking the infinity pool, with a view of the valley beyond. Our host offered a nice little snack of almonds, cheese and crackers and then the tasting began. From whites to reds, the wines were wonderful. We were offered tasting of some wines not on the set upon tasting list and "revisited" a few as well. There was a hefty tasting fee, but definitely worth it for the wines, view, and overall experience.

CADE, is just great wine. I wine tasted, just recently here and it was lovely. You cannot beat the views, along with the vino that Cade is known for.

So I went back to CADE Winery a few weeks ago and I'm happy to report that this experience was far better than the one I had a couple of months earlier. This time my party was greeted by three smiling employees and we actually got to taste the wine (and it was delicious, we bought several library bottles at the end of our tasting). I did notice a clipboard on the host stand which made me laugh out loud -- there was a note by my name that said something like "please make sure this guest has an exceptional experience, see Yelp review dated 5/9/2016." I'm paraphrasing but you get the idea.

This place is a must-see! A little bit off the beaten path but 100 percent worth the trek! The tasting was small and intimate and included perfectly paired small bites. The view is breathtaking and the tour was informative without being overly long. I already knew going in that their wines are fantastic but it was nice to revisit them and taste them side by side. Our host even brought out a bottle of Odette Cab for us to sample which was a nice treat. Wonderful tasting all around.

Amazing views and great wine. Plan on spending a good amount of time here as they take you on a tour of the property and the caves. Don't worry, there are splashes of wine along the way. Cabs were very good and they also had a Sauvignon Blanc that is worth trying. Tasting included cheese and chocolates for our party which added a special touch. The stafff was very welcoming and would definitely make the trip to this location on the next visit.

We had an amazing tasting at CADE. Ashley was a great hostess and is incredibly knowledgeable. Definitely a five star experience!

Went on a friends recommendation. Curves and scenic drive up the mountain to a very cool looking winery. Gorgeous views of the valley. A nice tour and tasting that follows. Wines were simply amazing. Worthy of a peek but make reservations.

While there was no availability for the recent Plumpjack 100 point pairing and tasting of this awesome vintage at Plumjack (darn it), I decided to make the treck up Howell mountain to visit their Cade Winery spot but had too many other wineries for my week that I planned so did not visit Odette nor Plumpjack. My host was terrific as I arrived late (usually happens there as one always underestimates the time required) and if you have seen one cave you have seen them all as saying goes. But you can drive up and down route 29 north and south in Napa as well as the Silverado Trail north and south, BUT ONE MUST GO VERTICAL WHEN IN NSV. The wineries atop Howell and Spring Mountains are all incredible, reason being the altitude (will change your attitude), terroir and people who have been blessed to manage what they have been given. You can read about the reviews that have been posted but for now I will keep this short. Setting, the air, altitude, visuals, opportunity to try all 3 brands if you are polite and kind with your host (this allows one to do easy pairing and pair with light food as well., saves a ton of time); people stop complaining about the price at some tastings as this one is worth every penny. Back in the day in the 70's I could drink with Joe Heitz for free at his guest house as well as some other notables in the biz, but alas many have passed on and the ability to raise prices because of demand has been happening for over 15 year/thank you private equity firms, corporations and others who try to blend quality and margins. Some brands owned by large corporations are managed well as they have the right people in critical spots such as vineyard management, winemaker, etc. Same holds true for the few privately owned wineries. But it is all dependent on location, same as any real estate. My personal belief is Vines that need to work for it due to altitude and terroir, coupled with some amazing blending and aging designed by the team, these will be the winners and command a price that is fair for the fine product delivered. In last 5 years, according to Robobank data, prices and margins for California wine have gone up 15% and 17% respectively, so get over it. Recommendation is refuse to pay the price for some NSV brands who do not warrant those prices because of product they have in their portfolio. There needs to be a shakeout in the industry and the Pastiche wine segment and upper tier is what all brands want, but few achieve. Cade, Oderte & Plumpjack are the true upper uppercrust winners. Really enjoyed our tour and tasting at Cade. The winery sits atop Howell Mountain. The facility is a beautiful, modern, clean design. The tour of the grounds and cellar was informative and a great way to experience the grounds. The highlight was the tasting room experience with a commanding view of the valley below. Wines were big and bold as expected of Howell Mountain Cabs... good experience.

We were so impressed by the wine, scenic views, and our tasting host Emmitt, we became Cade Winery members. Howell Mountain Wine (any wines on the mountain above 1400ft) is my new barometer for great wines!

I should've read Kavita B's review prior to visiting Cade because our GPS took us to a dead end!! So to reiterate, DON'T FOLLOW YOUR GPS up Howell Mountain Road South because it will lead you to a dead end closed road and you'll have to drive all the way back down. Take Deer Park Road!! Other than that, Cade is wonderful! We had originally made reservations for a 2pm tasting on the Patio but it was about 101 degrees outside, so they put us in a living room area which had great ceiling to floor windows with a great view. You could even see Mount Diablo from there. The tasting has four different wines, a Cabernet Sauvignon and 3 other cabs from 2006, 2007, and 2008. They were all pretty good, but honestly not the best wine I ever had. We also got a tour of the cave which was nice and cool inside. The architecture of the whole vicinity was beautiful and they are LEED certified. The views are amazing and if it were not scorching hot outside, I would love to enjoy my wine right on the patio with the infinity pool and view.

This winery is beautiful. Just a few notes though: it's not LEED certified yet (should be soon) and only the estate wine (to be released in the summer, I think) will be considered organic (CADE Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain ). Unfortunately, it was not available for tasting. Otherwise, they get their grapes from non-organic vineyards for their other wines. Their tasting was $10 for 3 and they were gracious enough to take us even though we were without appointment. I wasn't terribly impressed with their cuvee cabernet, but the sauvignon & howell moutain cab (not estate) were good. The latter was quite pricey so not sure if it's worth the cost. The views from up there are amazing. Their tasting room is set-up like a living room...very cozy & inviting. Our host was extremely knowledgeable & I think had we actually made an appointment & gotten the "full" experience, we would've had an even better time.

Overpriced and terrible service at Cade Winery. Not a fan of their wines either. The view is decent.

The view is the reason you should go. If you've already been to a vineyard with a vista, then you could probably leave it at that. Our server was actually really sweet, too. She made sure that as soon as the group at the couches left, we were on them. That said, she was new, so it was hard to tell how well the staff really knew the wines. And the place overall had a pretentious vibe (starting with the BMW that parked in the MIDDLE of the drive ... right, I know, that's a customer, not the venue...) and the staff who first greeted us were none too pleased that we were early. Early! Sorry. I thought the problem was if we were late; and we knew we were early and didn't ask to be served immediately. But the real reason I wouldn't recommend? The wines pleased no one in our group. I really wanted to like them, since we'd driven all the way up there and waited around, but the only thing close to value was a sauv blanc priced on the lower end. Everything else was unreasonably priced for its quality. This was the last stop on our three-day tour so it had many great spots to stand up to. Not that it matters too much that we didn't buy anything, since you won't get your $20 tasting fee waived with a purchase. That tasting fee stands alone.

The same pirincipals as Plumpjack but a different plot of land to make wines from. CADE, Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley 2010 CADE, Cabernet Sauvignon, Howell Mountain 2008 CADE, "Estate," Cabernet Sauvignon, Howell Mountain 2009 were the ones tried paired against scallops/duck, black code, then Wagyu beef consecutively. Everyone was wonderful. in comparing to the PLumpjack sibling, I think I prefer the Cade, even though PJ has the bigger name.

By far the most breathtaking view! Absolutely beautiful!!! The tour was nice. Their cheese/cracker selection was good. It was pricey and the wines were pricey but overall a good experience. Just get ready to spend $$$

Wow! What a beautiful location and fabulous view of the Napa Valley below! High above the Valley on Howell Mountain is this Spectacular Winery, with incredible Cabs!!! We had a wonderful tour and wine tasting! Great Morning at Cade Vineyards!

I have to admit that I have yet to develop a sophisticated taste in wine, so when it comes to wine tasting, I probably enjoy the touring experience more than the wine. Cade is located on the top of a hill in the valley and it's not exactly easy to get to. However we booked the tour in advance and they sent very detailed instructions on how to get there. Armed with the instructions and GPS on our phones, we arrived at our destination after 2 wrong turns only;) The tasting room is in a interesting architecture, spacious, comfortable and it has a killer view of the Napa valley. We were there on a perfect clear day and view itself is worth the trip. Although I thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting, I won't pretend I know anything about wine. The guide lady is very friendly and seems to be very knowledgable of the industry. She also knows the area well and gave us recommendations on where to dine after the wine tasting (which we followed and it turned out to be amazing). There's also an outside area where you can sit by a water fountain, sip a glass of wine while enjoying a even better view of all the beautiful vineyards in the valley. Very pleasant experience in general. If you plan to go make sure to book the tour in advance to have an intimate tasting experience, pick a sunny day and follow the driving instructions they give you instead of your GPS!

Beautiful property and wine was fantastic. A true luxery experience. The cheese pairing was a bonus and Ashley couldn't have been nicer.

Private tasting. Cade is the organic offspring to Plumpjack Winery. Who is owned by a mayor, who is the mayor of san francisco, who is the youngest mayor in over 50 yrs? Anyway...the view is just phenomenal. If I had the skrilla, I would def live on a mountain and make the day go by by drinking wine up in the mountains. The drive is heavenly...the weather was perfect...oh why do I live in a city? The cave is beautiful. I felt like running around like my 2 year old nephew does when he comes over to our house and putting a boba sized straw in the barrells to have my daily fix for wine @ 9:00 in the morning. But the caves are very dense and big like @ Araujo Estates. At the end of the day, ended up getting 6 bottles of PJ 06 Reserve and 6 btls Cade Cab 06. Adam rocks!!! Question of the day. Does my expediture @ Cade (1500.00) mean I have made a political contribution to the Mayor? Cuz I need a favor...

Unbelievably amazing. Patrick showed us a beautiful tour of Cade wine. We especially loved the Howell mountain Cabernet. The view is as gorgeous as the wine. Hands down our favorite winery of the weekend. Thank you Cade and Patrick .

I rarely give low review to wineries. I live in the city and travels to many wineries each year. Every time, I tried to hit something that I have never been. There are a few ones that I definitely want to go back and recommend, and there are some ones I felt it was ok, but never like Cade. It was not a recommended experience except the view. I made reservation online which they require to be on the email list in order to make one. It was only available later in the afternoon, so I have made one spot for my dad as the rest of us will be buzzed and feeling too full. When we arrive, we were amazed by the beautiful view, and that is the only one star for the great view. The whole tasting experience for my dad was so awkward, he had to share with another group. They were in their late 20s/early 30s. They obviously came in together as a group. They might plan to stay for a while, even had the phones charging on the side. There was no other room for the rest of us to stay where I can't stay translate for my dad, so we decided to sit outside and enjoy the view while my dad can go in and out and let us know how he likes the wine. Only about two minutes after my dad came out to chat with us, there was a staff came out almost yelling at us to let us know 1. we can't sit outside; 2. my dad can't taste the wine with us outside. So that's pretty obvious leaves us option for standing outside watching my dad tasting with a group of strangers. I was feeling furious when we were treated like that. I have been to so many wineries in the area and never experienced a tasting like that. My parents are also regular to the wine county, each year, they purchase many wines from their tasting, and I was always there to translate and to help them understand the culture, wineries, wines, and etc. Cade was very NOT welcoming, and their designed tasting experience is worse where you are obligated to be separated and from your parties if others don't drink. In my dad's case, he can't communicate with the staff nor the other guests on his table.Not to mention, the tasting is $40 and definitely on the higher end among the wineries. We decided to leave not too long after the yelling, but there was a wine labeled $400 from the tasting list, so my dad decided to give a shot to that one. He came back and said it was a very bad taste, and not sure if it was because it hasn't been decanted enough or it was just over priced. Before the Cade trip, we just went to Opus one. We constantly purchase 2012 Opus One, and it was just half price of the pricey Cade Wine. Overall experience was pretty bad. If the wine was good, I would consider to go back with a relatively larger group to get "private" tasting. But now, I decided to write my experience here and warn any of you who get fooled by the view.

Absolutely our favorite tour & tasting of our recent trip! This beautifully designed winery in a breathtaking location was a perfect sojourn from the regular bar tops. CADE is only sold at their estate winery. They make organic wine. One of their wine has a moonlight color, very clear white wine that's transparent-like through the one glass. Great view for wine tasting from their tall pane glass walls. Book a wine tour, you won't regret!

We had an incredible tasting experience at Cade. Kevin poured us generous tastings and really walked us through not only the wines but also of the history of the region from a geological and developmental standpoint. He answered our questions and provided some great insight and conversation. The pace at this tasting room is intimate and slow, we never felt rushed, but we never had to wait for our next pour. The atmosphere is quiet, really in nature, and we learned from Kevin that the tasting facility has been made from recycled materials. The wines themselves were incredible. I have never had a tasting in which I actually liked all of the wines poured. I'm more of a red drinker and those were incredible, but I wanted to take their whites home as well! Though you have to make a reservation before you have to come, it is well worth it, as there were only a couple of other tables and you really feel welcome there. We didn't really to the proper research before coming here so we didn't know what to expect. I was so impressed that I just had to write this review! Thank you, Cade!!

God this place is amazing. The Winfrey has a story the building has a story, the staff have incredible stories. It's an experience. The first LEED certified building on a Napa winery property, and the first organic wines. They grow some of their grapes in the harsh volcanic soil around the winery resulting in imminently age-able wines. You just have to see it.

The behind the scenes tour we took with Jay was amazing. He was the best tour guide we had the entire trip! I loved learning about the nuances in the grapes growing up on the hill versus further down in the valley. The wine cave was very classy, and I loved the fact that they exclusively partner with Meadowood to do the catering. I think they do appointment only here, but it's well worth it to work into your busy Wine tasting schedule!

Absolutely stunning winery and we picked the perfect, clear day for our visit with endless views. We purchased some Sauvignon blanc and Howell Mountain Estate Cabernet Sauvignon to take home and enjoy later. My only complaint was the tour and tasting was done in a group instead of privately - would have been even more enjoyable that way.
