We loved it. It is block and a half from South Beach. Showers are nice, service was great. The hotel offered beach towels every day, as well as body length beach chairs that are already on the beach. If you play the Piano, they have a beautiful Steinway as the center piece of their lobby. Restaurants are closeby, and there is a Citi bike station just across Collins. We will be back. Had a great time.

We stayed at the Cadet Hotel because my daughter was getting married right across the street. The staff could not have been more accommodating and caring. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable and the air conditioning was thankfully freezing! The manager, Veronica was incredibly helpful and made sure we had parking. One less thing to worry about when hosting a wedding is greatly appreciated! Natalie at the front desk made sure we had everything we needed. I can’t say enough about the staff! It is so much more enjoyable to have personal attention at a boutique hotel, and this one is top notch! Highly recommend!

Great lower cost hotel close to the Miami Beach Convention Centre. Walking distance to great shops, restaurants and dining. Has a hot tub rather than a pool and only a couple of blocks from the beach. Onsite cafe for breakfast and lunch or a later snack.

The best thing about the hotel is location. Close to everything, beach, restaurants, public transport, etc. The hotel is quite outdated. Old furniture, etc. Also, Hotel charges for damaged towels, which I found unusual. Got charged for one of the towel, cause it had hair colour.

Google
5-Star Review for Cadet Hotel I’m a local from Miami who needed a temporary place to stay until my apartment was ready, and I couldn’t have chosen a better spot than the Cadet Hotel. From the moment I arrived, Ray and Viviana made me feel right at home with their kindness and professionalism. The hotel is a hidden gem—less than 5 minutes walk to the beach, Lincoln road, Collin’s Ave, safe, quiet, and with a quality atmosphere that attracts a more refined crowd, not the typical “crazy Miami” scene. The rooms are clean and cozy, and the overall ambiance feels both boutique and inviting. If you’re looking for a peaceful yet charming place to stay in Miami Beach, whether you’re a local or a visitor, I highly recommend the Cadet Hotel. It exceeded my expectations in every way!

Google
The hotel is so good if you like European old style, but is so expensive in relation with amenities.... I reserved on booking and look like they were breakfast included and nothing is included there.... The people is great but the manager is like Matilda teacher always in a bad mood .

Google
The room is clean but pretty tight. The hotel is on the corner, so it's kind of hard to get in and out if you have a vehicle. They don't have parking onsite like I was told over the phone. They'll say they have parking but it's only a few spots but I never seen this parking....They'll tell you to park across the street which is $80 a night or you can park at the Miami beach convention center, which is a way cheaper option but is an 8 minute walk.

While the hotel was cute and Carlos at the front desk was nice, it was the worst 2 nights of sleep I’ve had in a long time. There’s 0 sound proofing and in the morning bright and early I could hear what only seemed the people above us were throwing a party at 6am and needed to reorganize all furniture above us to do so. It went on for about 1.5-2 hours straight. At 8am I went to the front desk and asked to please be moved to a room on the top floor for my second night and the person up there (NOT Carlos) assured me that the sounds I was hearing was not the people staying there, but was housekeeping because the guests had already checked out - not sure how that’s reassuring at all, honestly it made it worse. I asked to be moved and he said there was nothing he could do which I’m not sure how that’s possible since he JUST told me someone had checked out and there were other people clearly checking out too? Either way, I was hopeful that the next morning I wouldn’t have any issues, but low and behold, at about 6:30am it started again and it lasted until about 8:30am - stomping, rearranging furniture above us, etc. Any hope of slightly sleeping in on my vacation went out the window. On top of that, the pillows are awful. And the rooms are below average and in need of an upgrade. All very old. There’s only 2 outlets in our entire room (there was 2 in the bathroom as well) so we had to unplug the tv and lamp just to charge our phones.

Yelp
Contrary to some of the negative reviews, I had a great stay at this low key hotel. Peaceful and relaxing, not what you typically think of when you think Miami Beach. In much need of unwinding, I was grateful to be at this hotel where I felt like I was the only guest. Whether it was relaxing in the room or by the very cozy pool, I barely saw anyone besides the hotel employees. The hotel has a bar and an outdoor restaurant, which I did utilize so I cannot comment on them. I was also a bit confused as to when they were open or not. They might've been open the whole time but with no patrons! The location of the hotel is great for going to the beach and Lincoln Road. To get to South Beach, you can take the free trolley or an Uber for a reasonable fee. The hotel also has an arrangement with a nearby beach for a free beach chair and towel, which is great. But no umbrella, as I learned the hard way. I suspect that all the rooms are different from each other. Mine was comfortable and I enjoyed spending some time just watching TV. The bathroom is the biggest downside. Almost no counter space and no shelves in the shower. It makes it very difficult to maneuver, ever with just one person. As for the price, it's reasonable... for Miami Beach.

Yelp
I stayed here for 8 nights and was terribly disappointed in how such a nice hotel went from being lovely and caring to desperate and cheap. No phone, inadequate tv, toilet one inch from wall, no shelves in shower, shower door fell off one time and they repaired it, refrigerator in closet with your clothes making it exceptionally hot, lumpy bed, pillows, incense burning in lobby every day, main restaurant was closed but they did have a cafe opened through lunch. Hotel needs "gutted out" and they are not doing it. Save your $$$$ Nobody deserves a stay like this. Staff was friendly.

Yelp
I loved this hotel!! It seriously felt so homey staying here during my Miami trip. It was just me and my friend, but our room was perfect for the both of us. Rooms were clean and the hotel had everything we needed. The customer service here is outstanding--all of the staff were so kind and accommodating! I also felt very safe staying here. I noticed that they even lock up the front door late at night, but someone is still in attendance in case you need to come or leave. It felt like a European-style hotel with its decorations. There's also a full bar downstairs in the lobby! I loved how fresh & clean the hotel smelled everywhere. My favorite part about Cadet Hotel is the beautiful backyard and the pool!! It's such a perfect area for a photo shoot and just cute to hang out at. However, I do warn everyone--there are lots of mosquitos out there! I got bitten by a few mosquitoes so be careful. My friend didn't get bitten so it might've just been me lol. But it's pretty out of the hotel's control, it's just the humid climate out there. Overall, I absolutely loved my stay here. The location is perfect because it's only 2 blocks away from the beach. Lots of great places close by too!

Yelp
The Cadet Hotel is a-ok for a place to stay that is centrally located on SoBe. Your stay here gives you easy access to Lincoln Road, and you are steps away from Collins so you can quickly get yourself to the beach. It's a small, boutique hotel without many amenities. But as they say - you get what you pay for. For example - the ironing board was a TV tray table, and they charged $60 if you got any makeup stains on the towels (which had me fearful all weekend). This place was very affordable, especially during a weekend of SOBEWFF on the beach, where places typically hike up the $$. Overall, it was a good experience and the location cannot be beat.

Yelp
TLDR: great location for the price. ___ I stayed here recently while down in Miami for work. With a few tweaks this would have been a fantastic stay. Instead it was just middle of the road. This is a small boutique hotel. It lacks the comforts and amenities of some of the bigger hotels. The Bad: No parking. Not even Valet. Towels were sandpaper. The towels were showing their age and were pretty rough. Plus they charge you $60 per towel if you get any makeup on them. I have never seen that before. I booked here cause they had a tub but when I checked in they said those photos were old and the rooms had been renovated with no tubs. I chose this hotel mainly for the tub so I could soak my feet after long days walking. Was pretty bummed. Ac in the room is a remote controlled Unit. Turned off one day and was scorching hot. The kicker is they don't leave the remote in your room unless you ask for it. No elevators. That means you'll have to Carry luggage up the stairs. The Good: Comfortable beds. Pillows were ok. One pillow was good out of the four but it seemed no two pillows were the same. They just randomly threw in 4 different pillows. Honestly the bed was one of the only highlights at all. Front desk staff was very friendly. Location. Right in the middle of south beach I was able to walk everywhere I had to go or order a freebee/quick Uber. Plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars within walking distance. The price was really good for the location. There is a resort fee they will charge you at the end of your stay on top of whatever you already prepaid.

Yelp
i only tried the cafe- i found it to be the best thus far in Miami Beach for the price - food is great, service is great.

Yelp
This has been the worst "hotel" I have ever stayed at. The reason why I'm leaving a negative review is because I mistakenly booked this place from all the misleading positive reviews on Yelp. I want to help someone avoid wasting their money. I advise you to book elsewhere because of the reasons listed below. These rooms are not worth their price at all. 1.) room smelled of mildew 2.) could not adjust the AC from 72 degrees 3.) bed was the cheapest bed I have ever felt! You could feel the springs stabbing you in the back, which they tried to cover up with a cheap 1 inch shitty mattress topper... 4.) bathroom was dated and filthy 5.) toilet was dirty (not cleaned within the last month) -- You know when you can see the reddish orange streaks in the toilet from urine stains 6.) mildew in the shower 7.) TV was terribly small 8.) their poor excuse of a blanket was a flimsy over sized "beach" towel

Yelp
You can park in the yellow area towards the front of the hotel to load/unload. There are no carts for luggage usage, and you have to walk up the stairs for your room. They do not have a designated parking area, so you have to go park your car at a parking lot. We chose the one up the street because it was closer, and it was about $35 for 24 hours. There is a cute little bar in the front of the hotel, along with an outdoor breakfast area if you would like to purchase breakfast and eat there. It's decorated very cute. The room was also cute. It was a pretty average room. It kind of reminds me of the rooms up north in New York. The rooms are small, and there's not a lot of outlets to plug your phone up at for charging. There's no outlets by the bed. The outlet was in the bathroom so if you're trying to charge your phone up while your sleeping, you will just have to leave your phone in the bathroom. The other outlet in the room is by the tv. There's also no cable. Tv didn't work at all in our room so if you care for television at night, forget about it lol. I don't care for tv, so that doesn't bother me. It's a pretty cozy room. It was clean and the hotel is very vintage. Nice decor. I liked it. They have a cute little pool/spa in the back. Also, you can not adjust the AC unit. It was way high, up towards the ceiling, and there was no remote or buttons on it. The staff was very nice and helpful.

Yelp
We stayed here during our last trip to Miami. It was 2 blocks walking distance from the beach and is located near restaurants. We had the cozy queen bed and while the room was nice, I think that the cozy queen is best suited for one person. The staff was super friendly and the place was clean. The water in the shower was a little cold, but manageable given the summer time. This is a good hotel if you want to stay in this area of South Beach. I would definitely check out the larger room options for my next visit. Overall, it was a good experience.

Yelp
So I read all the great reviews about this hotel on tripadvisor and other online sites, and decided to book this hotel. Considering the location, I think it was an awesome price. The hotel doesn't charge you 2 to 3 hundred a night compared to other cheap-looking hotels in the area. It's located about 2 blocks away from the beach. It's not as noisy as hotels in Collins and Ocean drive, but we did hear people arguing all night in the room next to us, so the walls were pretty thin. The room is nice, but a bit small. It seems like the cramped everything they could in the room. The tv was small and way high up on top of the bookshelf/entertainment center. I think the best part of the hotel was the staff that worked there. They were all very nice. One of the guys who works there did everything from carring our luggages to serve us drinks in the outdoor cafe. The service from the staff was even better than 5 star hotels that I stayed in. Overall, I thought the hotel was a great value considering the location.

Yelp
I enjoyed my 2 night stay at Cadet Hotel in late January 2017. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the the hotel's decor, staff, and the property in general. I prefer smaller, boutique hotels to the more sprawling properties (like The Royal Palm, etc), so the Cadet Hotel was right up my alley. The hotel is in a perfect location -- walking distance from all the food and entertainment on both Ocean Dr and Lincoln Rd Mall. The guest rooms, lobby, and premises are very clean and well-maintained. The staff are always there to greet you with a smile. They are very knowledgeable of the area and can provide customized restaurant / entertainment suggestions. The $15/day resort fee covers towels and beach chairs, so it's definitely worth it. I will return to this hotel and would recommend it to others.

Yelp
Great hotel in a great location! Stayed a week here with my husband and we are very pleased with our service and stay. Rafael, Louis and the rest of the staff were very accommodating, attentive and professional. Everything from nightlife and restaurants that they recommended, were amazing! The beautiful Orchard and jacuzzi in back were very comfortable and relaxing, and they are perfect places to read a novel, if you choose (they have a bookshelf full of them in each room) which was a good touch

Yelp
very friendly people and is an old style hotel. TV is useless since front desk guy have to come and show me how to use. Is ROKU which have ZERO THING TO WATCH that is NEW!! So had to watch my computer the whole time! WiFi is good here! The room was comfy but I couldn't figure out how to change the temperature. You don't need night light since the air condition have a number on the front that illuminate at night! The shower is ok. If you like HOT. It does not have it. The Hot Tub is great little place but only for a few people in it that closed at 6:30pm Is close to the beach and they give you voucher for beach chair. Will definitely come back!!

Yelp
The Cadet Hotel is a great hotel if you're traveling to Miami! I stayed here for 3 days & believe I got everything I needed from a hotel! It is in walking distance of everything including Ocean Drive & the beach! We were greeted by everyone there & felt welcome, they also gave clear instructions on what amenities the hotel provided. There is a cute little garden area & small restaurant in the hotel! The room is very cozy, small but cozy for 1 or 2 people. I enjoyed it here and would recommend!

Yelp
I have driven by this hotel a zillion times in my lifetime and never gave it a second look. I needed a place for a quick staycation that was reasonably priced and Cadet Hotel was it! The number 1 reason this place rocks? Location, location, location! Cadet is located on a random, short street (James) between Collins and Washington. We were able to walk to lunch and dinner every night (yes, heels and all). Lincoln Road and The Filmore are also within walking distance. New (to me) find Regent Cocktail Club is across the street as well as Casa Tua (will go next time for sure). The beach is just a short block and a half away too! The hotel was built in 1941, three days before the attack on Pearl Harbor, during World War II. At the time, most hotels were occupied by Allied Armed Forces. Cadet Hotel became home to the West Point Cadets graduates, under the command of a young Clark Gable. When you enter the hotel now, you see Clark Gable memorabilia everywhere. (In case you don't know, Clark Gable is most famous for his leading role in the very classic- Gone with the Wind.) They also have a master suite named after him. The lobby is quaint with some comfortable lounge seating, a bar on the left (espressos in the morning and cocktails at night), and live, sexy jazz on the weekends. I did not catch the singer's name, but she was fabulous. It was a nice surprise to discover they have a hidden, ultra private, tiny restaurant off the lobby called "Pied à Terre", which has a 4 1/2 stars rating. Who knew? I took a peek and have bookmarked it for future reference because it looks amazing. Cadet only has two stories and there is no elevator. Thankfully, the staff carried our luggage up for us. The room was spacious and very clean. A fruit platter welcomed us with a welcome note, complimentary water, and chocolates. Despite it's centric location, the room was very quiet at night with no (expected and typical) street rowdiness interrupting us at all. The terrace outside has a small pool with some lounge chairs and I believe they do offer some in-room spa services. One con was the lack of parking. There is a lot a block away but it would have been more convenient to have valet parking. Luckily for us, we planned on driving as little as possible that weekend. I will definitively stay here again!

Yelp
Cool place and good for a Miami Beach vacation. In sacrificing the pool and/or beach view that's typical of resorts in the area, you gain a clean room, very friendly staff, and a price that's probably around 100 dollars cheaper per night compared to places that are a few hundred feet closer to the water. You also get free beach towels and can rent beach chairs for a reasonable price. Things to improve: the free wifi was slow. And the jacuzzi wasn't warm when I went it.

Yelp
This hotel is wonderful! From the great location to the friendly front desk to the reasonable rates, the experience was great. The hotel is located just off the main drags, so it doesn't get too loud. It has an old-Hollywood feel and it's easy to tell that the owners/staff care about every detail. When I walked in my room, there was fresh fruit and a personalized note waiting for me. When I left for a bit, I came back to a filled ice bucket, complimentary water, and a few chocolate-covered almonds. I was concerned about parking, so I called and they let me know there are a few lots on the same street. Parking was $25 for 24-hours in the lot between the hotel and Lincoln Road and the attendant was very nice. I could come and go as I liked. The only downside is that our room was a little small, but we weren't in it much, so it was no problem. If you are looking for a big, opulent, over-priced place to stay in South Beach, this place is not for you. If you are looking for a charming, convenient, happy little place, you've found it.

Yelp
Very nice location and friendly service. There are more positives compared to negatives for this hotel. The location is strong because it's within a short distance to the beach, several restaurants and shops. The staff was very nice and had great advice for places in Miami to check out. The food at the restaurant in the hotel was unexpectedly delicious. My fiancée and I went for breakfast thinking it would be like eating at a college campus and left extremely satisfied with the taste to price ratio. The outdoor jacuzzi was clean and worked without issue. As far as the rooms go, I had the opportunity to stay in one on the first floor. It was cozy. What I was not a fan of was the "glass walled" bathroom. What I mean by that is imagine glass walls around the shower and toilet of a bathroom. Yes, you can see into it from the front, while it's slightly blurry on the side and back of the glass. Essentially foggy glass. If you are with a significant other and enjoy privacy when you relieve yourself on the toilet, you might want to use the hallway common restrooms which were very clean and useful. The only other issue I had was towel quality. The towels were wearing thin and seemed more of outdoor pool towels instead of ones you should have in your room for when you shower. The towels were small, rough, and worn out. That being said, my fiancée and I had a wonderful time at the hotel for 5 days 4 nights.

Yelp
The reason I'm giving this hotel 2 stars is because no one likes to be on vacation and being woken up at 8am with someone drilling and hammering outside your hotel room window..the walls are already paper thin..also ladies, please be cautious in using their hotel towels, they charge you if you get makeup on their towels..bring your own to avoid the extra charge. The good thing about this hotel is the location.

Yelp
These guys were having an amazing rating on trip advisor for a historic hotel. So that's the reason why we opted to stay there for three nights. We had booked for two rooms and our room was really not ready. The room that my sister and bil stayed all the problem that we could possibly think of. There AC was not working, the water was not coming properly. The wash basin tap was leaking in the room. They changed us two rooms and still, we had a tough time. However the bright side was, their brunch and their proximity to Niki beach. It's affordable hotel and a decent place to stay during new year Eve.

Yelp
No amenities and $18 additional charge for stato g there. Couldn't get a toothbrush here like at a normal hotel. Rooms are tiny. Stay somewhere else or at an Airbnb.

Yelp
The Cadet Hotel is quaint and a quiet place for a romantic holiday and for those business types as there is the Conference centre around the corner Parking at rear of hotel, Art deco architeture within the Art Deco District Out door cafe area with table service for that essentail breakfast, breakfast served only, there is a bar in the lobby, rooms all come with ensuit bathrooms Personal opinion 5 star hotel, friendly staff and a supreme service
google avatar

Meena R.

Yelp
We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and had a semi decent room. when you guys get a room 222 allocated please run. That's the room we were in for 2 nights. Apart from the air con not working the wifi does not work in one half of the room. I mean it does not even detect that's how bad it is. The hotel opposite this is Gale and the wifi from that hotel can be picked up in this room. Plus you can hear almost everything that's going on in the room. Literally everything. I could hear cars breaking, people screaming aka talking. The reason I have given a average for this hotel is because the staff truly try their best. Also run from their breakfast menu, the worst poached eggs I have ever had. Crap breakfast too.

Yelp
The Cadet was the perfect hotel for our trip in Miami. As soon as we walked in, the concierge was very welcoming making our check-in process quick and effortless (considering it was 11:30 pm). The room was the perfect size for the two of us staying in it; the personalized welcome letter and fresh fruit was a very nice surprise. Do not let the $15 per day resort fee turn you off to this wonderful hotel because it is totally worth it! With that $15 each person in your room gets a beach towel (nice quality) and a cushioned beach chair anywhere you choose on the beach. The concierge are very knowledgable and helpful with any questions you might have. The housekeeping keeps the room very clean and smelling amazing, which is nice after a long day at the beach. Thank you to the staff at The Cadet for making our trip so effortless and enjoyable!

Nikki G.

Yelp
Super expensive and the rooms are tiny. Loved Daniel, he's awesome! Get Daniel some help because he does it all! You are so lucky to have him . Although it is very small, it's very clean and peaceful.

Yelp
I love it . Quaint. Cosy. Comfortable. Heritage. Small room. Awesome pillowy soft bed. Cute little bar. Cosy Fine Dining Room. Nice patio with large jaccuzi pool. Reasonable rates considering location.
google avatar

Gretchen T.

Yelp
I would definitely stay here again. A block from everything at very reasonable prices. The staff are 5 stars all the way--from the maids who patiently waited to clean til the crack of 2 and 3 pm in the afternoon when the vampires finally left the room to the front desk folks who went out of their way to find the sunglasses I accidentally left behind and mailed them to me. Also a bonus is the partially-enclosed, comfortable patio area where you can sit with a bottle of wine and a cigar on your last day in town and recount the incredible memories collected from your stay in salacious South Beach.
google avatar

Yelp
The Cadet is a charming boutique hotel. The staff, young and inexperienced, was capable. My room was clean and comfortable. If you want modern style, this is an old building most notably the bathroom. It's a part of the style, and I enjoyed it. My bed was great and the area convenient to Lincoln Road. I'll certainly consider staying there again.

Kristen E.

Yelp
This is a lovely gem of a hotel! On the quieter side of South Beach but only 2 blocks to the beach. They will do practically anything to make your stay comfortable. The plunge pool in the back is a perfect little oasis. We ate breakfast at the hotel one morning, which was quite good. Easy walking distance to everything, and there's the free Miami Beach trolley to take you to anything too far. Will return to this wonderful hotel in the future!

Yelp
We booked this hotel online at the last minute for a very modest rate. We read many good reviews and expected a pleasant experience. The Cadet Hotel exceed our expectations. The decor is incredibly tasteful and understated and the staff was incredibly courteous and attentive, down to something as simple as stocking our refrigerator with complimentary bottles of water every day. This hotel is incredibly well priced for what you get, which is quite a bit. The proximity to the beach along with its quality our unmatched in it's price range.
google avatar

Yelp
The pictures on the website make this place look much bigger in every way than it really is. So I guess I should complement the photographer they hired, because they managed to make this place look like it was the Delano...Not that the Cadet is bad, it's just nowhere near as enticing as it appears to be if you're hotel hunting on the web. The minuscule parking lot would be funny if it wasn't irritating at the same time. Watching the desk staff shuffle six cars around the lot like they're playing Tetris to get your car out is amusing at times, but not when you're in a hurry to get somewhere, as is usually the case for me and my wife since one of us is usually running late. All that being said, it's a pretty good option to be close to South Beach and Lincoln Road Mall without paying money like you're a rock star.

Yelp
I love this hotel. I stayed here probably 5 or so years ago and I still think about it! The staff was really friendly and the rooms are cozy but cute.

Yelp
I stayed here for a weekend getaway to Miami and it was an amazing experience. The eating area, the pool, and the room were very beautiful. The hotel as a whole has a cozy feel to it and their nature aspect is breath-taking. The people there are very attentive and super nice. The price is amazing for the location, as it's 5 minutes away from the beach and a block away from Lincoln Road. All in all, I loved my stay here and would recommend it to anyone.
google avatar

Jamie H.

Yelp
Spent three days here and enjoyed my stay. The hotel is centrally located right in the heart of South Beach and the price was reasonable, especially by South Beach standards. The downside is that they don't have a pool and the rooms run really small. On the plus side they have a great hot tub and the staff is very attentive. Thy leave bottled water and chocolate in your room every night.

Julia E.

Yelp
Great hotel! I stayed there for two nights during the Labor Day weekend and am glad that I didn't book a room at a bigger and louder hotel. It's located in prime area , a block away from the beach and Lincoln Rd. The room I stayed in was on a smaller side, but very cute and comfortable. All the staff members were nice and helpful, unfortunately I didn't remember their names except for Jesus (I think) because someone called him by name a few times. Oh, and did I mention that there was complimentary fruit and 2 bottles of water in my room when I arrived! When I'm back in Miami , I will definitely stay there again.

Yelp
I absolutely recomend Cated Hotel for those who are looking for some piece and quiet . It's 3 blocks away from the beach . We were on the Junior suíte . The room service was really good. The bed was very comfortable . The staff was really good. The only thing was they didn't have enought towells and The jacuzi closes at 6 . Besides that everything was AMAZING . I had a Good time and totally recomend it !!

Yelp
I recently got married on South Beach and had a wedding block of rooms at the Cadet. The accommodations were excellent. The rooms were really cute and the hotel has been recently renovated, which was evident. All my guests really enjoyed themselves and were all complimentary of the facilities. Unless you are prepared to pay three or four hundred dollars a night, hotels on Miami Beach are typically old, run-down, and on some occasions, dirty. Not the Cadet, however. Not only was the hotel nice and charming, but the facilities were clean and the service was excellent. Being a 2-minute walk from the beach doesn't hurt either! Given the rate we got - $140 - I highly recommend the Cadet Hotel!

Yelp
The good reviews keep coming. Awesome little hotel. Very friendly staff. Small but very nice rooms. Shower wasn't great but that's about my only complaint. Highly recommended. Oh and a great location. Have breakfast it's great too.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I loved this place. We stayed here for about 5 days. It was great for the price and located close to everything. The rooms were comfy and very clean. I opted out of the nightly turn down service because I don't feel comfortable having someone perform services for me that I can do for myself. But it is nice to have for those who like it. Also housekeeping cleaned the rooms immaculately daily. We would definitely stay here again. The Cadet also sends birthday cards on your bday which is really sweet.

Yelp
This hotel is in a great location. It's a couple of blocks to the beach and Lincoln Rd. I was dissappointed in the TV reception. It was so bad I couldn't watch any of the Olympics.

Yelp
Nice cosy hotel. Attended a reception on the back patio. Quite small but very charming with a mini pool and I still don't understand how nobody falls into it. Big Cons: no valet and parking is impossible around!

Yelp
Being 1 1/2 blocks from the Convention Center, New World Center, Fillmore Jackie Gleason Theater, and the beach, and in the shadow of the National Hotel and Delano Hotel, makes The Cadet Hotel ideally located to attend events. This boutique Art Deco hotel with only 31 rooms is like a charming, high end bed and breakfast with a beautiful intimate dinner restaurant and an outdoor breakfast patio surrounded by flowering plants and frequented by butterflies. Rooms are compact European style but modernly equipped and well kept. Ours had a chandelier. Staff was helpful and friendly. I recommend it highly.

Yelp
Booked way in advance. Prepaid. The night before I'm going to check in I get an email from Expedia (who I didn't even book through) saying that the hotel is overbooked. Seriously? Since when did boutique hotels start acting like airlines?

Yelp
Great little hotel especially for the price and location. The rooms are a bit small like the other reviews say but it is in a great location. If you're in Miami then you'll probably be spending more time outside of your room. The price and location give you more money to spend at all the shops, restaurants, bars, cafes, lounges, etc in the area. The beach is only a five minute walk away. For its location the hotel is pretty nicely secluded and feels like a little sanctuary in an otherwise bustling part of Miami Beach. The staff are very friendly and offer great personalized service. They left us a personal note and mini macaroons among other nice little gestures. A few little things: Heat the Jacuzzi if possible A light bulb was out in our room so it was a bit dark One of the window shades didn't work so bit too much morning light was getting in We really enjoyed it.

Yelp
This hotel had a good price. But overall not the best experience. Woke up from very loud drills coming from outside almost every morning at about 8 am. I thought the room was clean, til the last day we found bugs in our bed. Also the room was extremely hot at night. No way of turning down the AC. Overall, this hotel was in an amazing location. It was walking distance from a lot of places and the beach.

Yelp
This place was very nice and well run. Small but intimate. The rooms are very small but if you're not going to hang out in your room what do you care. Hot tub was very nice and clean. The restaurant was amazing and when I say amazing I mean amazing here.

Yelp
"Lost" our reservation that was made a month prior. Don't trust a confirmation! They apparently experience computer glitches! We were really looking forward to staying there.

Yelp
I was recently a guest at Cadet Hotel with my best friend for a girls' trip to South Beach. This place is a great value and great location. There is no elevator but the guys were gracious enough to help me manage my overpacked carryon up the gorgeous old tile stairs. It was a warm welcome! With all the comments mentioning the small size of the rooms I was pleasantly surprised when we walked in. I would use the word cozy to depict it more accurately than "small." We shared a queen room and didn't feel cramped or crowded. The windows were dressed with light white curtains with lavender sprigs in the pockets. Such a nice touch! And there was a small box of chocolate and fresh berries waiting for us in our room at check in. Our room overlooked the garden and we were pleasantly surprised to have a gardenia in full bloom right outside our window. The air conditioner was more than adequate and we were quite comfortable. If you are into history, check out the Clark Gable Suite. The staff was absolute perfection. Welcoming and helpful. Nelson in particular was patient and accommodating to help us get the perfect photo together in the lobby before our last night out. He offered suggestions for nearby restaurants. He also quickly responded when we needed assistance killing a large bug in our room when we got back later that night. We did see two so if that is a major turn off be aware -- this is the only reason I did not leave five stars. However we were so happy with this quaint little respite in South Beach, we would gladly return. The lobby smells of fresh-cut roses, the gardens outside do not disappoint. There was fresh ice cold water with mint and cucumbers in the lobby. We did not try the restaurant but the menu looked enticing. I can't wait to return to this hotel with character and history!

Yelp
Miami can be just as crazy or as artsy as you want it to be. The fact that it has a very obvious Multiple Personality Disorder (Multi dimensional is probably a better descriptor) is what keeps me coming back here and if I can make it happen, I usually stick to Cadet for my hotel reservations. Cadet probably caters to a slightly more well behaved crowd where you're more likely to not have someone throw up right outside your room (almost always happens at the W South Beach). The location which is literally right off Collins and a block away from Lincoln is perfect because you have the beach, nightlife, shopping and Little Havana all within a quick walking distance. The rooms are lovely, complete with luxurious beds and spacious bathrooms and if you can get their suites, do it - it's definitely worth the upgrade. Cadet has a pretty decent lobby bar complete with a grand piano, where you can chill around sunset and they also have a charming enclosed patio space which is the perfect spot to unwind with wine and a cigar, or have a lazy breakfast. This tiny hotel is squeaky clean, serves wonderful breakfast in bed, has a friendly, attentive staff and is quite possibly my favorite place to stay in South beach giving me just enough proximity to the mad nightlife, but with a generous amount of privacy if you want to shut down and disappear for a little bit.
