The castle has its history tested overtime for almost 600 years. Staffs are great! as per staffs advice to room around the castle will take almost two hours. We didn’t have time to stay or go in, just a quick and run visit. Entrance is cheaper than any trust in the UK. However staffs were kind, cheerful, polite, friendly and approachable, and they allow me to go inside the castle’s vicinity. Thank you beautiful ladies 🥰❤️♥️ I highly recommend tourists to Visit this castle in north wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 ok

Worth visiting this castle if you're around North Wales. The people in the reception were very much welcoming. They warned us to be careful while on the steps as it was a wet day. Spiral stair climbing to reach each towers top was exciting. The scenery from the top was breathtaking. We were blessed with beautiful weather also to enjoy this wonderful scenery.

To be honest we did not enter the castle because of high entrance ticket price. But the castle resembles the ruins of Conwy Castle which we visited the day before. Views from outside are great. Great market square for a hot coffee on a chilly morning.

This is a very well preserved castle and is a brilliant place to visit. There is an open space inside the castle and you are able to up into some of the towers and walkways which is amazing. I use a mobility scooter so was only able to access the grounds inside but was still able to get some brilliant pictures and really get a feel of the history that the castle holds. I have found that in Wales they are very hot on making things as accessible as possible and so sloped paths were built in the grounds to make it possible to see as much as they could make it. As there is only so much that can be done to make a castle accessible I was able to get in free as was my wife who is my carer so well done Wales.

Google
A beautiful location and amazing views. Extremely interesting history to read up on, with lots of information within the museum to see. Walking all around the grounds is fascinating seeing all the rooms and what they would have been used for. Word of warning - there are lots of steps if you go from floor to floor, and these are steep and shallow in places. If you want to go up the towers, these are very steep spiral stairs with a rope handrail and they can be tough to climb.

What a beautiful place! As you walk in through the glass entryway, you’re confronted with a huge grassy area that spans the entire length of the castle, most of which is wheelchair friendly. The walls of the castle are not wheelchair accessible, but the museum is! Also, just a heads up, my wife is a huge Anne of Green Gables fan, and she was able to find the perfect “Lady of Shalott” wall hanging in the gift shop. Very cool!

Second time visiting Caernarfon Castle 🏰 and it still impresses me! So much to explore, towers to climb, and amazing views! One word of warning though is that some of the steps are very small and steep, so be careful! ⚠️⚠️ Great castle to visit, one of my favourites!!!!

Google
Beautifully preserved castle grounds with an amazing museum. The views from the top of the tower of the town were spectacular! Was blessed with a beautiful sunset view from the top but would recommend taking care on climbing up an down the stairs throughout the castle as some are very steep an winding.

Yelp
Caernarfon Castle was quite a reward after a long rainy drive through North Wales and the Snowdonia wildlife area. The weather was overcast and rainy, but the woman at the entrance was all sunshine! She advised me to get a 3 day adventure pass to save money and made recommendations for other locations for us to visit. After such a warm reception, we headed into the damp stone fortress -- the castle is huge and there are loads of places to explore. You could spend a lot of time in just the military history museum which is over 3 or 4 floors in one of the more complete towers with artifacts and multimedia presentations. The castle has plenty of stairs that lead up to high walkways and the views - even on an overcast day - amazing scenery. We really enjoyed this visit and highly recommend this castle on your list!

Yelp
This castle is a medieval fortress created by King Edward I, and it is a World Heritage site. My husband had remarked that this was a proper castle, what you think of when you hear the word, and it is probably my favorite of the several castles that we visited on this trip.

Yelp
Take the time exploring Caernarfon Castle. This is a large site with many historic displays for the visitor to consider. The overwhelming history, the massive construction of the castle deserves the time to explore at your leisure and enjoy. The views from the top of the castle walls are worth the difficult narrow stairways and crowds to endure. Note: This is a difficult site for the mobility challenged. The narrow stairways and large crowds can make navigating this site a challenge. However, if you stick to the grounds and the museum, you can still get an overall feel of this historic castle.

Yelp
When I was growing up each morning when I opened my curtains I used to catch a glimpse of one corner of Conwy castle. Because of this Conwy is my favourite castle but I have to admit that Caernarfon castle is the most impressive castle in North Wales. It's much bigger than Conwy so there's more to explore and see. Unlike Conwy some parts of the castle have been renovated so you get some idea of what it was like to live there 700 years ago. There are plenty of corridors and steps to explore although I did find that many either lead to dead ends or locked doors so you often find yourself retracing your footsteps. There are also several exhibitions spread about the castle. One of the towers has a mini cinema which shows a 23 minute film every half hour. The film traces the history of North West Wales from the time the Romans first established a fort at Segontium. In another tower you'll find an exhibition covering Prince Charles' inaugauration as Prince of Wales. The throne used in the ceremony is on display here. Best of all is the Royal Welch Fusiliers museum which holds articles tracing the history of the regiment back to it's formation in 1689. Exhibits include tunics, hats, guns and medals including a number of Victoria Crosses. All in all this castle is well worth a visit.

Yelp
Well you certainly get your money's worth in this castle - if you were paying by the step that is . I think the previous owner had a stairs and corridor fetish - there are loads of them! Great castle, good fitness workout, fantastic views of the sea and town, well worth a visit. Few nice exhibitions thrown in too. Castell hyfryd i ymweld â.

Yelp
Interesting tour of the castle. Wonderfully laid out with loads of historical 'educational' material to read explaining the conception of the 'Prince of Wales' over the ages. You could spend hours in this building climbing the steep stone stairs to the battlements and towers. Worth the trek up just to take in the views of the surrounding landscape.

Yelp
Spectacular, even if it's not finished! I was surprised at some of the technical details--the combined arrow loops that provide much better cover and allow more archers to fire from one loop and the amazing security of the King's Gate amongst others. The displays were informative and the staff very friendly and helpful. The only downside was of course the endless procession of narrow stairways, many of the cirrcular, that my bad knees rebeled at. It occurs to me that now, some 400 years down the way, since Eddie I's castles have become tourist attractions, He's finally done something nice for the Welsh.

Yelp
Glorious to see and experience. Be careful climbing the spiral staircases. The views are spectacular and worth the climb. If you are in North Wales don't miss this stunning castle!

Yelp
As a castle enthusiast i cn honesty tell you this is one of the largest complex castles in the world . Built by Edward to control and intimidate the Welsh it was never completely finished but even so is a magnificent enclosure castle with high walls riddled with tunnels held together with huge towers . And amazingly good value too .

Yelp
Caernarfon Castle is one of the series of castles Edward I build ringing Wales. In more modern times, it was used for the investiture of Prince Charles as Prince of Wales in 1969. There is a lot of history here! It's a beautiful rustic castle, right in the heart of Caernarfon. It's been several years since I've been there, but I think of it often. It is perhaps my favorite of the castles I've visited.

Yelp
A castle I really enjoyed visiting. I found it really interesting to learn about with lots of information that was provided and information in the guide book. There are a number of exhibitions in the castles towers. Caernarfon Castle is architecturally one of the most impressive of all of the castles in Wales.

Yelp
I had a really good day out here. The castle is really well preserved so you can see a lot of how life was here. There is an interesting bit about Prince Charles' investiture which took place within the castle grounds. A new bridge has opened in the last day or two which allows much easier access for people with limited mobility.

Yelp
I absolutely loved exploring this castle for a day. It was SO worth the 1.5hour bus ride from Llandudno. The bus ride itself was magical. Yes, magical. How lucky are the Welsh, to get to ride through amazing medieval architecture, enjoy the beautiful Irish Sea on one side and never-ending greenery on the other? The castle is SO worth your time and money. Prepare to spend the whole day there. You will lose yourself in the different towers and chambers and hidden paths and bridges and be transported back to centuries ago. Stunning exhibits, lots of interactive audio and visual displays and if you're a history buff like me, you will be in heaven. The souvenir stores are great but my favorite is the small one in the castle itself, as opposed to the right of the entrance. The staff was so warm and helpful and volunteered interesting trivia. The city itself is charming. A kabob store right where you alight from the no. 5 bus, a quaint bar behind the castle and several souvenir shops with anything and everything Welsh. Left my heart in Wales. For sure.

Yelp
Fantastic. When I visited the UK, we had the most fun in Wales. The Welsh are great people and this place is a great stop. It is worth going to Wales just to see the Snowdonia mountains.

Yelp
By far the most complete castle I've visited in North Wales. You can access the majority of the castle and it's views are astonishing. Prices are good and the experience is unforgettable. Take a good half day to explore the castle. Immerse yourself in history and imagine the exhilaration, fear and disorientation the soldiers would have felt when they were called to action stations.

Yelp
A lovely castle to visit. Very enjoyable it you love learning about history and life. Its in the heart of caernarfon and is one of the main attraction in the area, especially for the reason that prince charles was investitured there. Its epecially lovely in the evening when they put all the sourounding light on, it makes it look majnifisant. It lovely to take the children there but I think the would benefit it more when they are going up to high school as they will appritiate it more.
