Needed to grab a quick bite so popped into Cafe 67. The waitress was awesome, the sandwich could have fed four seriously. I managed to eat half a sandwich but I was wedged so I ordered a "there's no way I'm finishing this sandwich" box!

Google
Great place for breakfast and lunch. Daily soup specials, if you choose a biscuit with breakfast, these are huge 👌 but yummy 😋. Plenty of butter packets, jam packets, home style food and lots of it!

Overall, the restaurant is beautiful inside, with charming vintage decor and delicious food. The portions are huge. However, we were seated in a separate room with no decoration or atmosphere, even though there were open tables available in the main dining area. Because of this, we weren’t able to fully enjoy the place beyond what we saw when we first walked in. Sadly, we don’t believe this was a coincidence. It’s hard to say, but it truly felt like the host seated us there because we are not white. The difference in how we were treated compared to other guests was clear. We didn’t receive the same warm welcome, and it left us feeling excluded based on our appearance. That said, I want to highlight that our waiter was outstanding — kind, attentive, and professional. In fact, all the servers were very polite. The only issue was the attitude of the person in charge of seating. For that reason, although I recommend the food and the service from the waitstaff, I personally would not return. I hope the restaurant reflects on this and treats all guests equally in the future.

Its my birthday. Visiting from Texas. Nice California feel . James Dean, Marilyn monroe memorabilia. Great friendly staff. Hot delicious food served quickly. Parking was limited and full but that means folks willing to go there. Old school feel .

Google
You get a huge amount of food. It's well-made and very tasty. The biscuits are as large as a softball and are tender. Our very kind and friendly waitress, Ruby, was helpful in answering our questions. The house salsa elevated the already fantastic omelets. No one in our dining party could finish our meals even though the wonderful taste kept tempting us to take just one more bite. Even though it was crowded, service was quick, accurate and friendly. Our waitress was on top of it and we were never in want for more coffee or beverages (didn't need to ask or flag anyone down). It's a really nice diner, nothing fancy and it doesn't pretend to be otherwise. A good solid value.

Google
ts place was pretty tuff, the mangos and mustard were peak and only costed a quarter. me and my friend steven here loved the 67 ohio, it would have been better if it were in cupertino, but its okay🥀... although i did not like how adrian forgot to explain the friend group and he used his "x ray vision for grippers" superpower on me even though i am just a bebeh. on a scale of 67, i would rate it like a 41.

Nice and fast customer service. The place is clean and food is good! A lot of variety in the menu!

Google
We have been coming to this cute diner for over 10 years and the food never fails to impress us. The atmosphere is great with a retro vibe. Neat little decorations and pictures are all around which bring you back in time. The food portions are very large, and everything we have ordered has been very flavorful. The service has always been wonderful and attentive. Would absolutely recommend this place for a quick, hearty breakfast or lunch. The cafe is not open on Mondays so plan accordingly.

Yelp
Food's great, with large portions! Service was outstanding! Nothing but positive things to say about this place.

Yelp
This hole in the wall has big breakfast plates with lots of great home cooked good food made with love our server was such a joy she made sure our needs was met she even asked if we wanted a refill of our drinks to go which we took her off as it was very warm day out this morning the decor inside is very old school with old childhood memories would very much recommend eating at this restaurant we definitely had leftovers that we had for dinner and their biscuits are the best

Yelp
Meatloaf falvor was much less than expected . Good Portion size. Pulled pork sandwich Good Portion but bbq flavor was not to my taste.very bland 1967 vibe is good, neat and clean Unfortunately it was not worth the drive from north west county

Yelp
If you are looking for good food, service, and prices this is the place for you. Service was prompt and friendly. We were told the specials and options. I had the Reuben which was very good. They load up the plate with steak fries. My wife had the eggs, pancakes, and sausage. She said it was very good. It came with warm syrup which is always nice. When done the waitress offered a cup to go with my remaining drink. This is not always the case and shows good customer service and awareness. Prices were good based on prices. Parking was easy on a Saturday at 11 am. The only call out is it is a little worn for furniture and looks. This may scare some away, but I found it clean just old. I support this family business and would return.

Yelp
Went for a quick weekend visit and ate here for breakfast, our server was very friendly and made us smile. Food was good. If ever in the area again, we'd go again.

Yelp
Had a great breakfast, great food, service was great with our server. But the real turn off was the disrespectful racial profiling from the owner when he ran our cards. He returned with them saying, "Carlos?" When the card reads Marcos, my brothers name. We corrected him saying, "Marcos?" He then looks up and proceeds to say, "Ah, well it's Mexican, they're all the same." and walked away. EXTREMELY unprofessional, not funny, and unnecessary. The comfortability of racism is unacceptable in all environments. Just shows racism is coupled nicely with illiteracy in this establishment.

Yelp
Since we moved up the hill to Ramona, we don't get down the hill to Cafe 67 very often. That doesn't stop the food here from getting even better. Amazingly, every plate is full to the edge! Always taste great and they must use emu eggs in their omelets. Their 3 egg omelets are twice the size of any other omelet restaurant! And, again, my favorite isn't on the menu (yet!) I'll order the California omelet, with the home fries. The omelet. It is, of course, stuffed and comes with fresh guacamole. Order an English muffin dry and about 3 or 4 containers of their salsa. On top of the muffin halves, spread half the Guac on each side and drain the salsa containers and add to the muffin. Best guacamole toast you've ever had! If you're looking for a great breakfast, you have to go to Cafe 67 in Lakeside.

Yelp
Good food, even better service! Love the ambiance of this diner. It's got an old school feel to it. Portions are large, price very reasonable. It's one of our "go to" spots for breakfast. Plus the entire menu is available even during breakfast. Don't judge me, but I once ordered the Sloppy Joe for breakfast. Last comment: the staff is friendly and attentive. Two thumbs up!

Yelp
My wife, my two grown sons and I meet up nearly every Sunday morning for breakfast at Café 67. It is an old fashioned mom and pop café that serves breakfast and lunch. The service is second to none. The wait staff have obviously worked here for some time, know all the ins and outs as well as us regular customers. My coffee cup is never empty, the food is always fresh and delicious. Whether breakfast standards, salads, hot, cold, or deli sandwiches, gourmet treats like lasagna, fettuccine alfredo, burritos, vegetarian options, potatoes at least six different ways, burgers, cheese steaks, and deserts; truly Café 67 will fit the bill.

Kathryn ..

Yelp
I love this place, had amazing food with huge portions. The ultimate French toast is amazing and the service excellent!!
google avatar

Matthew D.

Yelp
Take a blast into the past with the decor in this place! Great service from a very knowledgeable and attentive staff! The burger was flavorful and plenteous. A few adjustments to the decor to modernize would be a nice - but other than that it's a great little spot hidden in Lakeside.

Yelp
Along with an old school classic cafe/diner feel and ambiance, you get a friendly and warm atmosphere. Not to mention a generous portion of Americana. Serving breakfast and lunch, the menu is not overwhelming yet gives the patron a decent range of choices. I ordered bacon and eggs, hash browns, biscuit and a side of gravy. The eggs, fluffy and scrambled, offer a farm freshness while the hash browns crispy on the outside and cooked perfect on the inside. The bacon was crisp and cooked well and the biscuit airy and steaming hot. Pair all this with a cup of gravy and I call it a good breakfast that can hold me over till at least dinner. The service was fast and efficient, my meal arrived after order in less than 10 minutes, maybe more like 5. The restaurant is clean, including the restrooms, and tastefully decorated if you like retro. I am definitely coming back

Bryan B.

Yelp
Amazing service. Great food. Portions very healthy size. Loved the antiques. Took me back in time. We will be back again.

Yelp
We love Cafe 67! The food is EXCELLENT and homemade. Their cinnamon rolls are a favorite of our grandchildren. The servers are wonderful and Ruby is a favorite. As seniors we either share a breakfast (they're huge) or better yet save 1/2 for the next day! Decor is retro movie and toy memorabilia. You can tell by their full parking lot they're a Lakeside favorite!

Yelp
It's not often that I'm in East County, but this past Sunday was one of those rare occasions. After my daughter's softball team got trounced in their tourney, I decided to cheer her up with some pancakes. Cafe 67 was quite busy, but the friendly hostess got us seated in less than five minutes. My daughter was hoping for some banana pancakes, but the waiter said they never have bananas, which was a tad weird. No worries, she got chocolate chip and she definitely enjoyed them- just for a moment she forgot how bad her team got beat I had the Works Omelet and it was just ok. Bill was $50 for both of us, but everything is just crazy expensive these days. As far as parking- it was pretty tight. We got the last spot in their small lot, but people were parking a bit of a distance away. Overall, not bad, but not the best either.

Nathanael N.

Yelp
Waiters were psychic, very lovely service. And food was slightly costly with huge portions enough for a grown man or two normal people.

Yelp
We stopped here to have breakfast before heading to my granddaughters softball game and let me tell you this diner did not disappoint, we came as a party of 8 and each one of us loved what we got for breakfast, so yea i highly recommend this place and the service was spectacular:)

Joseph Z.

Yelp
It's been awhile since I was there but I was there yesterday with my daughter and granddaughter. Last time I was there it was a great place for food, with my biker friends. Now it's still amazing excellent food, service from Ruby, and the place reminds me of a home time place that made you smile and feel welcomed. Would be back again soon !

Yelp
This is our first time here. The atmosphere is old school dinner. The food is very good and the portions are large. The services are attentive my cup of coffee was never empty. I would recommend this restaurant for breakfast. We have not tried lunch yet but their lunch menu also looks very delicious.

Yelp
We went on a random Thursday morning and the place was packed. The portions were large. And the service was good. We ordered the cinnamon roll french toast and it was delicious. Definitely a must. We also had the biscuits and gravy, and order of pancakes. The pancakes were rubbery. The biscuits were ok. The place has some cool memorabilia on the walls and the vibe is diner style. Definitely worth a trip back for that French toast.

Yelp
My husband and I wanted to get some brunch, so we decided to try cafe 67. He ordered the country fried steak with hashbrowns and an English muffin. I ordered the 3 egg scramble with chorizo and cheddar cheese with toast. We both ordered coffee and iced water. We were greeted by a nice gentleman who sat us and brought us our drinks. He was very friendly and we loved talking to him. We had a friendly server also who was very attentive. The coffee was delicious and we had multiple refills. The toast and English muffin were nicely buttered. They had a variety of jelly packets on the table and different creamers available. I also loved how they had a napkin dispenser on the table for easy access to extra napkins if needed. My 3 egg scramble was very good, it tasted just like something my mom would make me. I loved it My husband loved his food also. The servings were very large and well worth the money. We loved the small town feel and cozy environment. I'd definitely come back. They have a large parking lot and with wheelchair accessibility.

Yelp
Came here after hiking El Cajon Mtn. Everything was excellent. Especially, the cinnamon bun. Staff was super welcoming and service was top notch. Will definitely be back if and when I'm in the area.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The portions are huge and hearty, and everything I've tried so far is delicious. I love getting the works omelette or the vegetarian omelette (pictured) The omelette is huge I can usually get 2 or more meals out of it. I also love getting the biscuits and gravy too. My bf got the gamblers burger and it was giant! My new go to spot I come at least 1-2 a week now. Also the staff and owners are very friendly and welcoming. :)

Yelp
Nostalgic diner ambiance with friendly service and huge portions. This time, I opted for the cinnamon roll french toast and it was the perfect sweet breakfast. The service was good. Our server checked on us often and kept our coffees filled to the brim.

Dawn D.

Yelp
The perfect "hole in the wall" breakfast joint. Portions are huge and hearty and the food is delicious. The staff was so friendly and patient with our kids, and we will definitely be back. The only downside is a small parking lot but plenty of street parking is available.
google avatar

Yelp
The food and the service are excellent, the plates are to die for I totally recommend the eggs Benedict it is perfect!!!! The breakfast is spot on and the lunch menu is extremely good......
google avatar

Maggie R.

Yelp
First time at cafe 67. Food was good, VERY big portions, nicely decorated, clean, and most importantly friendly staff. Seems like they have regulars that come in often which is a good sign in my book. Can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Amber C.

Yelp
The pros- good food, friendly staff, great decor and atmosphere. The cons- parking can be a bit of an issue especially on weekends. And depending on which direction you are coming from to get into and out of their parking lot it can be a bit tricky as it it where 67 and Maplewood come together. I highly recommend the French toast, as that's my go to. But I have yet to take anyone there and have them not enjoy whatever they ordered. Many locals go here on a regular basis so that should tell you something.

charley b.

Yelp
Had the chicken fried steak and short stack, w coffee and chocolate milkshake. Wonderful diner food. Friendly and efficient staff.
google avatar

Yelp
What a comfortable yummy restaurant. I have tried several of their dishes, and I've been happy with all of them. The food is prepared nicely with care, rather than quickly and barely cooked as I find in other restaurants. the workers welcome you happily. Definitely one of my favorites. The croissant, breakfast sandwich, French toast, Belgian waffle, and their potatoes are so wonderful. Definitely a place to enjoy.

Jessica S.

Yelp
Always a great meal. Never disappointed. The staff is so friendly. If you want a great meal come here.
google avatar

Dan A.

Yelp
One of the absolute best diner style breakfast in San Diego. Tucked away in good old East county, right off of the 67 freeway as you enter lakeside.

Christopher R.

Yelp
I want to say that Cafe 67 is a GREAT place to eat. They have items from the '50's and '60's as decorations. The food is GREAT and the omelets are "MASSIVE", pancakes, waffles, club sandwiches are ALL GREAT meals. The waitress are all great and fun to deal with. I enjoy drinking Iced Tea when in there and the waitress who takes my order or other waitresses will keep my glass full without me asking for more. There are times when a waitress will take my order, and another waitress might bring my order. They always help each other out. Give it a try, you won't regret it. And ask Steve if you can have a booth with the "Ocean View" (Joke). They are open Tue - Sun 6-2pm and closed on Mondays.

Yelp
Chicken Fried Steak Delicious....awesome... the best.... I'm a chicken fried steak snob... This breakfast was awesome steak was tender moist not try it out eggs were cooked perfectly I have over easy and they're hard to make kudos to the chef... Close tomorrow yeah... The Belgian waffle is so light and airy on the outside and cool and soft and delicious on the inside... So long to get there
google avatar

Melissa M.

Yelp
This is a great breakfast / brunch spot. It's kind of hidden but worth finding. Best biscuits and gravy I've had in a long time but be hungry when you go because the servings are huge. I love small diners with a country vibe and this place is just that. This review is long overdue. The staff was great.

Ali T.

Yelp
Great place to get breakfast or brunch. Definitely try the Belgium waffles or the club sandwich. Place is busy usually so be prepared to wait. Staff is friendly and attentive.
google avatar

Bobbi B.

Yelp
Too much food, but tasty, and everyone is so nice! Yum! They put cheese on everything. Find with me!

Duane B.

Yelp
Simple fare, but good. I love the Rueben sandwiches. Didn't expect so many vegan options.

John T.

Yelp
U don't remember how many times I've been to this great restaurant out in East county, the food is always excellent the service excellent don't know how many friends I have bought here
google avatar

Luci P.

Yelp
Great American food, huge portions, and Gigi our waitress with her welcoming and beautiful smile was amazing, i will recommend Cafe 67 to all my mount helix neighborhood.
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered the California omelette with house potatoes. The guac was definitely old (dark green and had that bitter taste). The potatoes were smothered in cheese, WAY to much, and I'm a cheese lover. So greasy. The omelette itself was ok, but again had WAY too much cheese inside. Definitely disappointed. And I agree what other people have said about the workers attitudes, the lady I talked with on the phone sounded annoyed the whole time. That's no good.

Heather P.

Yelp
The staff is friendly and the food is great. The place is nostalgic in decor with lots of pictures that take you back in time.

George F.

Yelp
Huge portions!!! Best breakfast I've had going out in over twenty years. Their chef deserves ten stars. The waitress was an Angel! This place could be my favorite place to go from now on. Not too crowded... just an awesome place. It deserves ten stars Take my word for it, you'll be impressed I'm sure.

Evelyn Z.

Yelp
Excellent service, food, and prices. I have eaten there for years and the high quality is s always consistent. I also enjoy the old pictures, posters, etc that adorn the room making it interesting.

David P.

Yelp
My first time... chicken fried steak was very good. Good portion of potatoes and the homemade biscuit was awesome. Probably the best part was the great service from "M."
google avatar

Joe L.

Yelp
Nice spot for breakfast. Giood service, good coffe, and good food. Plenty ig veggie options! Even a tofu scramble. I had the potaties with vegetables and cheese. Yum! There's a claw machine uo front. A sign on it read, "Play Until You Win." I won on my first try!

Yelp
Greasy and crowded. Large portions and interesting people watching but not much more.
