My wife and I ordered “Build-Your-Own-Bowls” in the evening of 4-5-2025. My wife ordered a rice bowl with beyond meat, and I ordered a salad with roasted chicken. The portions were enormous, and everything was prepared simple and *clean (by clean, I mean without excessive seasoning or hard to identify allergens). Our server was also very sweet, and helpful in accommodating questions about our allergies. We both have sensitivities to dairy, and I’ve been having issues with onion and garlic lately. While navigating these food sensitivities is surprisingly not bad of an issue in Thailand, it was really nice being able to dine here and not have to think too hard about our order. The cafe prices were pretty standard, if not cheaper than what I am used to seeing in western cafes in Thailand. The food on the other hand is pretty spot on with other western style restaurants in Thailand, and people should understand that paying for foreign style food in a tourist area is going to raise the asking price. Our meal was still not even half the cost that it would have been in the States. This restaurant had a good atmosphere, and we would surely return.

We dined here five or six times during our month-long stay in Ao Nang, and the food was consistently pleasant. The Eggs Benedict served on a croissant was easily my favorite combination. While the Turkish eggs lacked a bit of spice in the chili oil and the pork belly portions seemed to decrease slightly over time, the pork belly itself always tasted fantastic. Overall, the experience never disappointed, and I would happily keep coming back again and again

Cafe 8.98 is a beautifully designed café with a warm and stylish interior that immediately gives off a cozy, modern vibe. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the layout feels thoughtfully put together. I recently stopped by to try it out and was genuinely impressed by the food, particularly the Beyond Burger — it was absolutely delicious. The patty was flavorful and perfectly cooked, and the toppings were fresh and well-balanced. It’s clear that they put care into the quality of their ingredients. However, my experience with the service left quite a bit to be desired. When I entered the café, I found a seat and waited to be acknowledged. Unfortunately, no one noticed me — not for a short time, but for quite a while. Even though staff walked by, no one approached or offered a menu. After an extended wait, I finally had to call someone over just to get a menu. Once my order was taken, the food arrived quickly, and I appreciated the efficiency at that stage. That said, the initial lack of attention made the visit less welcoming than it could have been. There’s definite potential here, and I hope the service aspect improves to match the quality of the food and ambiance.

The brunch options here are amazing, loved the House Brunch, but the Power smoothie and other bowls were too sweet for me, the coffee is good, but only the drinks, especially the ones with milk. As for the atmosphere, it’s a bit warm, could have ac to offer inside at this price range, but the staff is really nice and efficient, food comes out fast.

I had crushed avocado, a bit of feta cheese and 2 poached eggs and the pancakes in the photo with chocolate on the side and I enjoyed it. However, my partner had the cheeseburger with just the patty, cheese and buns together with the chocolate cake and coca cola to drink which was good at the time until later that day. He got sick and threw it all up. He had food poisoning and we know it’s from this place because we only had this meal the whole day. I was fine but he wasn’t so it’s definitely the food he had. I liked the place, I thought it was westernised, modern and staff spoke decent English but we won’t be coming back due to food poisoning. Be careful!

My lovely breakfast spot in Ao Nang 🤍 The food is high quality, balanced and yummy. The team is wonderful too. My food faws: smashed avocado toast and lemongrass chicken salad. Here you can find specialty coffee (ask the team for options), matcha is wonderful and with bitter sweet balance. And 8.98 has my faw cocktail - porn star martini! And they are dog friendly 🤍

The buddah bowl was the driest salad i have ever had. It was really hard to swallow. It didn’t come with sauce. The staff did try help by bringing two different sauces (one mayo and one salad oil) but it just didn’t make it any better but I really appreciate the effort made. Poutine was good, it was just chips gravy and cheese but still good.

Visited the place last Saturday, ordered Egg’s Benedict and Iced Matcha Latte. What I thought was a decent dish was met with a strand of hair found wedged between the bacon and egg 🥲 A kind local staff was apologetic about it and offered me another drink. Expected a higher standard of food hygiene to be held, kinda disappointed I was still charged the full price of the food on top of a service charge. Edit: owner has replied and just to clarify, the food was NOT taken out of my bill. I paid total of ฿430 + 10% Service Charge, you might want to re-check your facts and POS system.
