Lovely Italian diner in the little italy area Had the chicken Parmesan which was excellent Wife had the penne bolognese which was also excellent . Place is cozy and has great pizza and wine and dessert options .

Google
Incredible experience overall! I went just before the dinner rush and was able to get a table by the window no problem. I have a lot of severe food allergies and the server was very willing to confirm with the kitchen about the ingredients of the dish. Very accommodating and checked in on me during my meal. I really enjoyed the small and intimate space as well! I went as a solo diner and was able to take my time, take in the view, and enjoy some of the best marinara pizza I've ever had. Would highly recommend this place as an intimate, cozy restaurant with great service. I noticed the place did fill up quickly due to the small amount of seating, so would definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time. Will be coming back here often :)

Any time I have family or friends visit the city I bring them here! Very cute atmosphere and the food is amazing every single time.

Google
Although I kinda get why, it’s ridiculously expensive to eat here. $35 for a Chicken Parmigiana that’s probably a little bigger than snack-sized (incl tax and tip). The food is definitely authentic, so that’s a good thing, but feel like it can be a little better, especially with the pasta being a little undercooked. The sauce has a nice and subtle flavor. The chicken is definitely undercooked and fried inconsistently. I could feel that some parts of the chicken breast was not fried enough for it to be soft and tender. The place is extremely small and kinda cramped, so you might have issues siting and getting out. I would not recommend if you have a large party, or any more than 3 people.

Google
Delicious food, elegant and cozy atmosphere, and incredibly personable and efficient service. The caprese was fresh and fun and the fusilli alla vodka was delicate and mouthwatering. I love a lot of restaurants in the North End but will definitely be back here soon!

Google
A little gem. Perfectly fried mixed arancini app with a glass of wine in this cozy brick-walled space was the ideal respite. And friendly service with laid-back vibe: love it here and I'll be back!

Google
Amazing experience. One of the most intimate Italian restaurants I have been to. The place is a bit small but in a very personal way. The food was divine and to die for. The best chicken Marsala I’ve ever had and my girlfriend’s vodka pasta was delicious. I highly recommend this to anyone in the Boston area. We were the only people in the restaurant which I enjoyed but let’s get this place some business!

Google
Outstanding service from Brian and a cozy, lively atmosphere. We had the meatballs, funghi pizza and linguine with sausage; all were excellent. I also got to sample two aperitifs and they were uniquely delicious. One of our favorite meals in Boston!

Yelp
Love this place! Quaint. 12 tables. Perfect one page food menu. Right in the middle of all the action across from Mike's Pastry. One of the best margherita pizzas I have ever had, the crust is fantastic and I wanted to take a jar of that sauce home. Great caesar salad. Meatball app was excellent. Friendly staff. Food came out quick. I've been here twice and the restaurant can get a little cold in the tables along the window but it was worth it. This has quickly become one of my North End faves. Can't wait to go back! Side note, wish they had a Sinatra channel or Italian music playing on the radio, felt a little weird listening to classic rock in that setting.

Yelp
Came for dinner. It's a really small place so make sure to make a reservation. They have by far the best marsala I've ever had. It was so good. I would absolutely come back. The service was fantastic.

Michael B.

Yelp
Amazing food and atmosphere. Service was super friendly and accommodating to our family with all of our luggage.

Yelp
Devine! Firstly, the place only fits about 15 people, so be sure to call or go online for a reservation! Without knowing how small it would be, I booked a reservation and was happy when we arrived and could be seated immediately! I went with my mom and her two friends, and everyone was blown away by how tasty the food was! We ordered the meatballs as a starter. Three giant, tender meatballs came with the order! So fresh and flavorful. Then, my mom and I split the bolognese and the burrata pizza (which we added prosciutto to): this was one of the best meals we had in Boston. The meat sauce in the bolognese and giant pieces of meat and they were so flavorful! The pizza was delicious! I'm not from the northeast and I normally eat thick crust, but this may have turned me into a thinner crust person! You could take the brick oven freshness!

Sophia H.

Yelp
Linguini was delicious, but it's definitely spicy, so be forewarned! Sausage was delicious too, and the portion size was satisfying for me. Butter & sage ravioli was okay--it was quite light and comes in only 4 pieces, so that wasn't filling enough for me :(

Joy B.

Yelp
Hidden gem in the North End, with a location that can't be beat (right across the street from Mike's Pastry). We ordered 2 Caesar salads and 3 pizzas. The Margherita pizza was our fave. The crust was amazing on the pizzas! Service was good too. Small place but when we came in a little after noon (shortly after it opened), we were the first ones in there. Seemed to be enough to fit others who came in shortly after. Big windows in the front with a view of the North End. Highly recommend!

Kiran V.

Yelp
Came here for dinner close to the 4th of July holiday. I would recommend making reservations ahead of time if possible since the restaurant is super tiny! It can seat maybe 15 or 20 people max. Because of the size of the place, basically everywhere is like al fresco dining. I got the chicken parm (my second time trying it here!) and it was good. The chicken cutlet was very crispy and the sauce was very flavorful and a little on the sweeter side. The portion was large which I appreciated and I could half of it home. Great spot to try in the North End!

Oscar J.

Yelp
This well-placed nook is tucked into the heart of the North End. It only seats about 15-20 people comfortably, but it has a great ambience with open windows facing the street. The waiter was polite and attentive. The food was beautiful but the flavor was not very impressive. The bland sauce on the linguine and chicken Parmesan was separated and pooled up on the bottom of my plate w/ Al dente noodles which I enjoyed. The chicken parm itself was crispy but not fresh tasting at all. The pizza margarita had exquisite crust with a good amount of Parmesan. Although the sauce was plentiful and tasty, it was runny. In this area, I was expecting to pay $$, but not for this type of quality.

Yelp
Everything we got was amazing! The ceasar salad, fusilli with vodka sauce and the rigatoni with beef! Bryan our waiter was super helpful and kind. ENJOY!

Dede C.

Yelp
We had our best meal here of our trip to Boston. A quaint little restaurant with twelve tables that has a great vibe and ambiance. Ordered the lobster pasta dish and it was fabulous. Came out piping hot, just the right amount of flavor and a generous portion of lobster in the half shell. The zucchini in the pasta was cooked just right and the waiter was busy but attentive. Ended up chatting with a couple at the next table from Austria and their meal was amazing also. Would definitely return here when we come back to Boston.

Yelp
4 1/2 stars! My boyfriend and I went her for a late light lunch around 1:30 on a Saturday. (Light for my boyfriend at least lol!) I got the caprese (16$) which was small for the price but MY GOD was it so good. The absolute freshest tomatoes and the best mozzarella i've ever had. So delicious!! My bf got a margarita pizza which he loved but was still hungry after lol! Cute small place for lunch for girls not hungry guys!!

Robyn A.

Yelp
Our family of five was able to get seated for dinner without a wait, which was a pleasant surprise. Calamari appetizer was great. For entrees our group had pizzas, the tomato vodka pasta and the linguine with sausage - all entrees were great with nicely balanced flavors. Service was pleasant.

Daisy R.

Yelp
Small quaint Italian place with great pizza. Thin and crisp. Great service. Easy to get a table. But reservations advised. Greatly recommended!

Lou P.

Yelp
This is a a Very cozy and romantic restaurant. Although menu is slightly limited, the pasta was excellent. Don't forget to order a Negroni!

Dia D.

Yelp
We went here for lunch and were the only customers in the restaurant. Our waiter was friendly and our food arrived quickly. The front room is small but with a nice view of the street. We started with the arancini, mozzarella, and croquette antipasto. They were good, but a little on the bland side. Fortunately, things improved with the pizza. We had the fig and prosciutto pizza which was very good.

Yelp
My friends and I stopped by Cafe Amaro after grabbing drinks in the North End on a Friday night. We got there around 7pm and it was actually empty, which was a bit worrisome to me, but it got busier over the next hour or so. The waitress recommended one personal pizza per person, but we ended up ordering two pizzas for three people and we still had leftovers. We ordered the Prosciutto & Funghi pizza, which was absolutely delicious, as well as the Broccoli Rabe pizza, which was also topped with hot salami. The Broccoli Rabe pizza was a bit plain to me because it didn't actually have any tomato sauce on it, so be sure to note whether it's a white pizza before ordering. The ingredients tasted fresh and the pizzas were light and fluffy. I'll be back!

Yelp
Fabulous cozy little Italian bistro with great food and attentive service! We stopped by for pizza and pasta on Sunday evening and were not disappointed! The atmosphere is friendly and we were chatting with folks at adjacent tables. Bryan delivered superb table side service and the food was exceptional! The fusilli was freshly made and perfectly cooked with vodka sauce that was out of this world! While the prosciutto and fig pizza could have come out of the oven about 30 seconds earlier, the flavors were fabulous! With very reasonable prices, this will be a go-to place whenever we're on the North side!

Liza M.

Yelp
brian is amazing!!!!! 10/10 service i would come back in a heart beat! He was so kind for my friends birthday

Greg T.

Yelp
Great food. Server was very accommodating of our two year old. Not a lot of folks in the restaurant the night we were there, perhaps because of lack of air conditioning on one of the hotter nights, but we immensely enjoyed our food (two pizzas and rigatoni)! Totally worth a little heat to get a table in the North End for such amazing food without a reservation!

Lena L.

Yelp
Came on a Friday night around 6:30 with reservation. Menu options were limited and I opted for the linguine our server recommended. Portions were on the smaller side and it tasted very bland. The sauce is very watered down and I don't get any hint of spicyness the server said it had.

Connor L.

Yelp
Don't usually 5 Star, but everything here worked. Stopped in here for a snack basically cuz there was no wait. Ordered a Margherita pizza & Burratta w/Calabrian chilis pizza. Pizzas were simple, sauce on Margherita was almost elegant, Burratta Calabrian chili pizza had just enough kick, Burratta was smooth. Wife got a Limoncello Spritzer that was light & refreshing, not too strong. Service was prompt, friendly & attentive waiter, no waiting. Ambiance was nice, open air view of Hanover St. If you're lookin for a quality brick oven pizza in the North End, this is your place.

Yelp
This was a nice little place to stumble upon as my husband and I were taking some out of town friends on the Freedom Trail. Many other restaurants looked packed, and we honestly just wanted some coffee and a hefty snack so this place was perfect. We ordered the caprese salad, margherita pizza and the artichoke & mortadella pizza to share (party of 3). The caprese salad was good, the tomato's definitely lacked some color but since it's January, who can blame them. The pizzas were definitely more of the star, especially with it being freshly baked right behind the counter in a wood-fired oven. I enjoyed the margherita more-- they both had nice thin, Italian-style crusts. It is a little lackluster from the outside and I think it is having issues standing out amongst they myriad of Italian restaurants in the area, but because of those things, if you would like to have no-hassle, and non-offensive pizza break, this is your spot.

Denise M.

Yelp
We split a pizza and a salad. Very tasty. Ambience was cozy and the place is super cute. Go on a weeknight to escape the crowds.

John N.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place walking around the North End. Located across the street from Mike's ! We had an amazing meal the caprese to start , pepperoni pizza and to top it off the chef sent over a slice of tiramisu!! If your in the North End check this place out !! Service was also impeccable, and the space was very inviting

Kristen P.

Yelp
We found this hidden gem on a rainy night in Boston. Excellent Italian cuisine- not just pizza! I had the linguine and it was as delicious as any of the fabulous North End restaurants. Intimate atmosphere, very friendly staff and quick service but not at all in a way that we were being rushed. I recommend!

Brooke M.

Yelp
The food was INCREDIBLE. I got the linguini. Our waiter was amazing and the ambience was so cozy. All the workers were kind and happy, and I will definitely be coming here again.

Peter K.

Yelp
Mediocre food. Not a lot of taste in the chicken parm and sauce on the pasta was watery

Aaron B.

Yelp
Great food and equally great service on a busy summer weekend in Boston! Pizza and the burrata were excellent, and the Caesar salad was also good.

Bailee P.

Yelp
Good pizza! We got some drinks in house and then brought our pizzas to go. Our waiter was so friendly. This establishment is a sibling of the well known Cafe Vittoria and Florentine Cafe.

Miranda S.

Yelp
We ended up at Cafe Amaro when looking at a place in North End with an open reservation. What a stroke of luck we ended up at Cafe Amaro! We just returned from Florence, Italy and Cafe Amaro was on par with the Michelin rated restaurants we ate at there! They were happy to split the Gnocchi for our girls and work with us on creating a custom Amaro flight. Will absolutely return.

Lieutenant D.

Yelp
So this place is tough because I thought the pizza was the best pizza I've ever had I ordered the margarita and wanted to drink the sauce that was on it however I did not enjoy the pasta the sauce had a taste that just did not hit for me. My wife didn't mind it as much as me but I didn't even want to eat it. If I could rate it only off the pizza it would be a major 5 star place. I actually told people to go that we're talking about pizza. Our server was beyond nice though and we still had a wonderful time.

J T.

Yelp
While we were disappointed we couldn't get into Carmelina's next door we were quite happy we sat down right away at the cute little Café Amaro that evoked memories of our time in Italy last summer . It is quaint and sits about 18-20 people. The waiter took our order right away ; they are known for their brick oven pizza so we ordered that. It was very delicious and the caprese salad I had was very tasty and the presentation was great! Our daughter had the bolognese and she was so happy the noodles were cooked just right

Haley E.

Yelp
Super cute cozy place. You will need to make reservations as walk ins are hard to accommodate since it is so small. The food is really good and perfect for sharing.

Bree W.

Yelp
So yummy and cute. Service was great, atmosphere was great. I got the pasta with vodka sauce which was very good and cheesy. I highly recommend coming here!

Marguerite K.

Yelp
5 stars for Cafe Amaro! The gnocchi is excellent. Service was exemplary. Was there with 2 friends and we closed the place down. The staff was so gracious about asking us to leave. I'll be back.....

Kristen D.

Yelp
We randomly found this place while on vacation and the food and service was beyond incredible!! I would highly recommend. We will definitely be back. We also got two pizzas and a glass of wine. All so good!!

M O.

Yelp
Three of us stepped into this small and beautiful place on a Wednesday midday. Our server was pleasant, engaged, and attentive, giving suggestions and genuine positivity throughout our experience. We shared the fusilli with vodka sauce, margherita pizza, and antipasto plate. Everything was delicious! If I was a local, I would definitely revisit!

Alix N.

Yelp
The food was delicious and the service was so great! The margarita pizza and bolognese were amazing. 10/10 recommend!

Yelp
We found this cute, tiny restaurant while visiting Boston. Food and service were great. We loved the atmosphere. We all got different dishes and everyone was happy. We enjoyed it so much that we went back the next night. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Michele R.

Yelp
Quaint little place. Very friendly staff. Family friendly. Food was excellent and very accommodating for food allergies.

Krista L.

Yelp
Such a lovely little spot in the North End. The pizza is reasonably priced and amazing! Also, the amaro flight was such a fun experience. Highly recommend.

Anna S.

Yelp
What an amazing experience. The food was amazing and the service was exceptional with Bryan L. We can't wait to go back!!!

Yelp
We stumbled on this place after trying to walk in at Carmelina's. What good fortune. The food and service here are excellent. Not quite the crowds (yet). Highly recommend.
