"When you’re looking for a fun night out, why not opt for one right on the Danube? The chic Motto am Fluss restaurant is located within the terminal for the Danube Canal ferries, but it’s like no dock you’ve ever seen before. The futuristic and super-bright space looks like a sleek cruise ship itself. On the lower level, the restaurant, with its black-and-white-checkered floor and silver orb lamps, reflects Venetian influences. Here, you can linger over breakfast in the café until 4 p.m. In warmer months when the weather is good, the terrace is the place for cocktails or biodynamic Austrian wines. On weekends, DJs add to the already-high cool factor in the trendy riverside spot."

This place is recommended on various guides and by various people. We reserved a dinner for 6:30 PM and we arrived at the opening at 6. Was not a problem to get a table next to window as we asked for. The waiter was very good and helped to make some choices between the options we had for food. Also he recommended a good local white wine for our fish. What I appreciated ( and I recommend people traveling from other countries or continents to do - verify where you travel and what is the local food and people culture ) was the focus on client wellbeing . Example: food takes time to be served ( thanks good is cocked and not microwaved ) and the waiter asked us if we are ready for main dish or we want to wait a little and enjoy view and discussion. Regarding the food - is a real gastronomic restaurant , I enjoyed the fish and chips revisited and the gazpacho as starter. If you are not in rush, if you understand the restaurant is an experience and not a need to eat, if you accept the local “cold” people style then go here and enjoy the view of Danube Channel. One mention - they have bar, terrace and restaurant - my dinner was in the restaurant.

We discovered Motto am Fluss while walking around looking for a place to eat, and it turned out to be our best experience in Vienna! From the service to the food to the overall atmosphere, everything was spot on. Even though the place was packed and we didn’t have a reservation, they still managed to give us a second-row seat with a great view. The table was super comfortable and spacious, which made the experience even better. Special thanks to Phelix, both waiter and chef, who was always smiling, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. The only downside was the dessert, which didn’t match the quality of the rest of the meal. Still, highly recommended!

Google
The location of the restaurant and cafe was pretty nice. By the river and right in the heart of city. We tried their breakfast menu which was okay. It wasn’t super! Yet it wasn’t bad either. Service is quick and staff were friendly and attentive. It was a Saturday so a bit busy yet we didn’t wait and got seated right away. All in all, the atmosphere was worth it.

Google
Amazing atmosphere and great view! If you want to spend an evening with good drinks, lively atmosphere, breeze from water, I recommend Motto. It is a bit pricey, so be prepared to give some cash. The location is a former cruise ship, and the vibe is accordingly great! I recommend reserving a place in advance

Google
We wholeheartedly recommend Motto! We stopped by for coffee and had an espresso and a cappuccino. We can only say good things about Motto am Fluss: beautiful ambience, very friendly staff, attentive service, and cleanliness. The brand design is lovely, and the value for money is great as well. Special thanks to Benjamin for the kind hospitality! :)

Google
the restaurant is in the boat so its has a very beautiful scene and vibe. food was little pricey but the portions were big and water & bread with butter was gifted. so it’s worth it for special occasions. it was so tasty too. service was also nice

Google
It's a nice brunch spot. I got the Fjord Ahoy, overall nice, had to order extra bread. A generous portion of smoked salmon. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and fast.

Linguine without seafood..? Had to order the risotto instead, I liked the lettuce salad. The atmosphere and the views were great.

Yelp
Motto am Fluss is a restaurant and bar located inside a ship, overlooking the river and conveniently situated in the first district of Vienna. The interior is upscale, with dimmed lights and plenty of wood features, giving it a sophisticated yet warm ambiance reminiscent of high-end sailing yachts. While the food here is known to be excellent, we came late on a Friday evening specifically to sample some of their signature drinks. We were seated at the bar, which provided a perfect view to watch the bartenders work their magic, as well as one of the owners expertly directing the workflow among the staff. The service was fantastic--attentive and friendly without being intrusive. Also, the DJ provided the perfect soundtrack for a pleasant and relaxed evening. We opted for three of their signature cocktails: the Echo Bravo (tequila, strawberry, lime, cacao, balsamic, basil oil), the Portofino (gin, Aperol, Campari, pineapple, lime, rosemary, thyme, and orange bitters), and the Mirtillo (gin, blueberry, grapefruit, thyme, tonic). All the drinks were excellent--well-balanced with unique flavor profiles that made each one stand out. Overall, Motto am Fluss is a wonderful place to relax with a great cocktail and soak in the upscale atmosphere. Highly recommended for an evening out in Vienna.

Yelp
Delicious food, absolutely horrible service! I think I was segregated because I'm from America, LOL. All the customers were in a fun room and I was shoved into a sad corner in a different room, by myself :( I'll still give them high marks, because the mushrooms on my dish were spectacular!

Yelp
Short visit in Vienna, and having literally walked 15 km to see as much as possible, we asked anumber of people where to dine. Mixed answers, and yet, this restaurant was mentioned by several. So we chose it, went there, in fact, a little bit early, which was smart, for several reasons. Walk-ins generally have a low probability of success, but we did; the location on the river was splendid; the food was outstanding; and very importantly, the moment we sat down, the rain started to pour down. The cuisine arranged for some very nice menu items, both for the carnivores and the vegetarians, colorful, nicely arranged and most importantly, a feast for the taste buds: Burrata, Motto salad, Schwammerlgulasch, und Octopus - flavorful, and amazingly tender.

Maged H.

Yelp
Excellent location on the Danube river with outstanding service. The food is authentic Austrian with fantastic views and great menu for anybody visiting Vienna. Highly recommend that special gig on the Danube river.

Yelp
The restaurant is definitely a trendy place and reservations are a must . The atmosphere was festive as it was before Christmas and the visit was during my short trip in Vienna. It was very warm inside, almost stuffy as the resto was super full and I would have definitively liked some better fresh air circulation . Enough nitpicking, the food was very good. The lamb shank was fork tender, the wiener schnitzel crispy and light and the potato salad authentic. It was of course served with cranberries. The venison was good too but the knodel served with it were slightly burned: We asked for new ones! The desert was delightful. I will come back hopefully in the summer and get to enjoy maybe sitting al fresco

Marissa C.

Yelp
Perfect place for dinner on Christmas. Relaxing and tasty. The ambiance was great and service was great.

Yelp
Super trendy and good restaurant on the banks of the Donau. We had a great view from inside the main dining room, as the open air cafe upstairs was too warm, even in the evening. We had some simple dishes, good wines. The cucumber soup was so refreshing, as were the drinks and dessert. A winner if you're going for a good meal in a fairly unpretentious setting! Recommended!

Yelp
This is an upscale restaurant with a beautiful view of the Danube. We came here on 1st week of May without a reservation and the staff told us there was only one opening at 8pm for an hour. We decided to take it. A reservation is a must! There is a cafe upstair and we ate at the restaurant downstairs on the ''ship.'' It is very fancy, chic and tastefully decorated in modern design. The drinks vary from a large selection of cocktails, coffee to their homemade soda and teas. I ordered Pretty in Pink and was very tasty. We ordered- ~ Variation of Starters for 2 Persons €29 Beef Tartar, Trout, Asparagus, Milk Cheese ~ Lamb Chop €28 Leek, Morels, Blackberries, Crispy Lamb The food was deliciously prepared. The staff was very attentive. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Even after scouting this place for a few days, we did not know what to expect from Motto am Fluss. When we arrived for an early dinner (6pm), the place was just about empty, but only about a half hour later, the place was PACKED. We sure know how to set a trend, ha. As more and more people came in, we realized we were pretty underdressed for the occasion, as everyone was in suits and cocktail dresses, while we were in jeans. Oh well. We started their variations of starts, which was a mish-mash of a lot of appetizers: the roast beef, batavia lettuce, marinated salmon, and local vegetables. Everything was pretty good, but it was a little disjointed and it was hard to tell what the theme was. I ended up getting the braised veal shoulder as my entree, which was excellent. The veal shoulder was tender and the potatoes were nicely executed. All in all, a good meal, but perhaps nothing spectacular about the plating or creativity. Service was very attentive and friendly, and the prices, while a bit on the expensive side for Vienna, were relatively good for the value. Definitely a nice and trendy spot for a meal, as well as a good place for business dinners. Given its prime location along the water, I'd assume it'd be a great place to eat al fresco during the warmer months.

Yelp
The food was amazing here, it's the perfect place for special occasions. In our case, we were celebrating our first day in Vienna with an unforgettable dinner! This boat restaurant looks a little plain from the outside but once you step in the restaurant it's actually very upscale and trendy. We had made reservations in advance and I noticed when we were being seated that literally every unoccupied table was marked as reserved.. a good sign! Tuna Sashimi Appetizer- fresh, vibrant tuna and the avocado cream had a nice hint of wasabi. Roast Beef Appetizer- the breaded baked egg was insanely good, beef and chanterelle mushrooms were both delicious and complemented each other well. Pretty plating! Lamb Cutlet- served with cherries and broccolini, 5 stars! The cutlets were wrapped with thin layers of fat that melted with each bite. Chocolate Fondant- perfectly baked lava cake, the lime sorbet and fruit lightened the dessert so it wasn't too heavy. The prices and portions were reasonable for a nicer dinner. Our server was just ok but the food made up for it. They have a separate cafe that is open for breakfast and lunch, the menus looked awesome and I would love to come back!

Yelp
Nice location, able to enjoy small bite or dinner! Not so expensive better coming on sunny day in order to spend a good time with perfect scenery

Yelp
I will now write a review on Motto am Fluss the RESTAURANT which I find to be very different than the cafe above. The restaurant downstairs on the ''ship'' is very fancy and richly decorated in modern design. The waiters are friendly, but don't let that fool you -- they asked us for a drink several times during our dining experience which I found to be more American than Austrian. Usually in Vienna the servers will leave you alone while you chat with friends and only ask if you want something to eat and drink ONCE. Here at Motto Restaurant me and my friends were asked at least 4 times, and we would get a different waiter asking us these questions which made us confused as to who was our REAL waiter...we were very bothered for this and felt pressured in the restaurant. The bread and butter platters that sat in front of us were not free -- we made the mistake of assuming so, ate them carelessly and were later charged 12 EURO for it. The beef tartar I had was very good. I wish the salad was bigger, but the bread was crusty and delicious. I would only recommend this place if you want to impress your date and have the money to do so and can tolerate the service. Otherwise, just eat at their cafe above -- that's what I will do for now on. http://americaninvienna.com

Yelp
This review is for the Bistro upstairs. The food is good and I like their breakfast options. However, the staff is 'off'. They are not very friendly and seem annoyed by every patron. We were told that here a cappuccino and a melange are the same thing, mainly I think because she didn't want to get a new order. The plate was removed although we were not done eating. At another visit, we were sitting inside close to the bar. The entire evening, the bar staff and serving staff were arguing. It took the fun out of the evening.

Yelp
Was recommended to this restaurant by some friends living in Vienna. It has nice romantic dimly lit ambiance. There is a 3.5 Euro cover. With the cover includes bread, with salt, pepper, olive oil, and some pretty tasty balsamic vinegar. We started with the basil and ginger lemonades, which were mild in flavor but very satisfying. They are 5.5 Euros but come in a huge jar enough for about 4 glasses. Food food we got the Tomato and Burrata Salad, Steak Tartare, and Lamb Knuckle. The Tomato and Burrata Salad was amazing. The burrata was a little different then I'm used to, kind of like a mix between mozzarella and burrata but it was tasty. The tomatoes and seasoning on the side of the plate was the best part. 5 stars on this dish. The Steak Tartare was good, however missing the egg on top as described. The Lamb Knuckle was a big lamb bone with a decent amount of meat on it. It was good, but could have been improved. It sits in a dark gravy that is very rich and overtakes from the taste of the lamb. Service wise if you have any plans within 2-3 hours of your reservation here you might want to cancel or push those back. It took about an hour from when we ordered until we got our food. Start to finish took about 2.5 hours and we were enjoying the night but definitely not trying to be there that long.

Yelp
I love this place. If you are tiered of schnitzels and strudels you have to come here. They have very good breakfasts. I like to have granola or steirisches omelet. A lot of desert variations. They bake cakes and pies themselves. You can always find some interesting salads or sandwiches here. Highly recommended! Just one tip. Make a reservation first.

Yelp
ahh, i really wanted to give this a 4 or 5 star review, but, I don't feel like the complete experience deserved it! First off, the food was GREAT, no complaints here, the linguine was delicious as was the chicken breast. Our waiter was attentive throughout the meal. The reason I could not give this restaurant a higher rating was due to the fact, it took awhile for a host to actually greet us, we had to ask the bartender if it was a 'seat youself' type of thing because many servers walked by us without saying a word. I got a very pretentious, uninviting vibe from this place when walking in and waiting. We almost did leave but, When a host did come, we were asked if we had reservations (which we didn't) and a table would be ready for us in 5 minutes. We ordered drinks at the bar, and our table as ready. The drink finally made it to our table close to 10 minutes after we ordered them, but they were delicious. Our waiter forgot that we asked for water as well, but he did bring it eventually. As others mentioned the staff seemed a bit confused of who was doing what. Now, I can't seem to see anyone else mentioning this, but THERE IS A COVER CHARGE to eat at this restaurant?! Yes, you read that right, I was in shock when I saw this on the menu and on the bill $3.50/person cover charge to eat at this restaurant added to your bill per PERSON. LOL. I have never had this charge before in my life, I was pretty shocked to see it, but oh well. Anyways, good food, mediocre service and a cover charge...

Yelp
Motto am Fluss is a paradise on Earth. I cannot imagine my life in Vienna without having a coffee there now and then - it is personal to me, probably because this was the first cafe I visited after I had moved here. My all time favourite is the cafe latte, freshly pressed orange juice and pancakes with maple syrup and orange cream. I love their pancakes so much that I keep ordering them and I never give anything else a try, and if I could, I would eat team all day long and then still dream about them! The cafe is very cosy, it can be a bit crowded and loud, but still comfortable - especially if you get one of the booths by the window. Oh yes, a warning about those huge windows and glass walls - it can get very warm inside if the sun is shining. A reservation is a must! - Especially on weekends.

Yelp
Motto am Fluss is located directly on the Danube River in central Vienna. It is not a boat and is it not in the water. There is a casual upstairs cafe and a more formal restaurant downstairs. We chose to eat upstairs on an outside table. All tables in the restaurant pretty much have a good view of the Danube. The scenic location was the main draw for us along with the menu. I ordered the Chanterelle Gnocchi with Lovage Pesto which was exceptionally tasty. The Gnocchi was cooked right and had a perfect texture, the Pesto sauce was delicious. The other entrée was the Apricot-Zucchini-Curry that came with ginger and cashew rice. Excellent too! We ended with a fruit laden chocolate tart that was ridiculous! The service was excellent and the food even better. A win-win. The evening views of the Danube River are spectacular. I do recommend reservations. They have an elevator and Free wifi too.

Yelp
We had breakfast at the cafe that overlooks the little Danube. There was not an English menu but the waiter explained the options to us and we were able to find something easily enough. I had a breakfast sandwich with ham, bacon, Swiss and avocado. Egg comes on this normally, but I ordered it without. This was a lovely meal, with everything very fresh and satisfying. My BF ordered smoked salmon over scrambled eggs with baby spinach. The presentation was beautiful and he really enjoyed it. This place was worth the trip.

Tamas U.

Yelp
The place itself is really good, overlooks the river so gives a good base to a nice dinner date. The food is average, nothing special. Staff was very attentive. Overall, I was satisfied and would come back again. We paid around 80eur( w tips) for a dinner of 2.

Yelp
Eng: Good restaurant for breakfast. Coffee, croissant, and ham and eggs all tasted good. Their home made chocolate almond croissant is also very good, though a bit like a desert with the chocolate inside. Nice ambiance. Reservations recommended but not required.

Yelp
Nice interior, creative presentation, and tasty food. Located on the top of a boat on the river, there is a nice view overlooking the city and the café has tasteful interior decorations. I got the light breakfast which has two toasts-one with cottage cheese and the other with an egg. The cottage cheese toast was kind of weird tasting because it was cold topping on cold toast but the fried egg was the best fried egg I've ever had in a restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
Great recommendation from our concierge. Food very good, service excellent, vibe very cool. Live DJ spins tunes while dinning. The risotto with green herbs appetizer was especially good. Sound mojito from the bar. Kardinalschnitte Deconstructed, their signature desert, is light and tasty. View on the river completed the picture. Highly recommend.

Yelp
We had a set menu for a large work function. The food and service was quite good indeed. Fast service of the plates and continual flowing of the wine. Not a bad gig. They did have quite a full boat outside of our Wednesday night group which speaks well for their food and service.

Vicki S.

Yelp
Motto am Fluss Dick and I loved the chicken and asparagus. There is a nice selection of wines. There is also a nice selection of food. The price is reasonable for what you get. They have a nice patio outside, but we chose to sit inside. The restaurant decor is friendly. The waiters, and staff were nice and well trained. You can't go wrong with Motto am Fluss.
google avatar

Alexandra M.

Yelp
I was very pleased when I selected Motto am Fluss out of my Vienna guidebook. I really liked the ambiance - with glass windows surrounding the cafe, fresh potted plants on all the tables, jugs of tap water, a big blackboard with part of the menu. I was happy that the food was as good as the decor. I had a delicious roast beef sandwich, served with avocado and salad on the side. The waiting staff are not the most welcoming but I am told that most restaurants in Vienna do not fuss over their customers. I liked the place so much that I went back the next day for lunch. This time I ordered a seafood risotto which although I didn't enjoy as much as the sandwich, it was still masterfully created with a real original recipe. I'm told that the thing to order there for next time is their pink lemonade. The locals were lapping it up like watered candy.

Yelp
Had lunch here in the main restaurant because the cafe upstairs was full. They were a bit snooty upstairs, like "sorry we're full" even though there were clearly a lot of tables, but downstairs they were SO great and friendly. First of all, the bread is delicious and it is served with oil and a very particular vinegar which makes it hard to only have one (or two...or four) slices. They will bring you more bread (as much as you want!) so don't fall into that trap (OK fine, do it anyway; it's awesome). They have a three-course prix-fixe which one of us did, and then we got the weiner schnitzel. The schnitzel in particular was noteworthy because it was more refined than most you'll find (smaller, more delicate). The prix-fixe was all super high quality fish and a delicious soup to start (I forget what the soup was called but it was great). The cafe au lait is enormous, more of a soup, and it has really delicious, thick foam. They also bring out great petit fours at the end. They were so polite to us and the server kept joking around with us as we tried to use our German (which was terrible). That really made the experience great.

Mieke K.

Yelp
I would not consider Motto am Fluss touristy, at least not this Friday evening. Motto is somewhat upscale and is frequented by business-casual Viennese. The seesaibling with barley and mediterranean veggies was good, but nothing special. The knuckle of lamb was big and came with a good amount of greens. As a side eggplant with too much cheese was served. Service was pretty average, though I am still surprised by the blunt waiters telling us foreigners/tourists that tips are not included in the price in Austria. This comes across as very rude and actually puts me off of paying any tip at all...
google avatar

Lori K.

Yelp
Best place we ate in Vienna. The front desk clerk at our hotel suggested we try this spot since it was close to our hotel and it's a "floating restaurant over a river". I was worried she was going to send us to a touristy place, but it didn't feel touristy at all to me. I loved the ambience, the music and the food and cocktails were excellent as well. I had a champagne risotto with prawns and my friend ordered the weiner schnitzel which if you want to try while you're in Vienna you should do so here! WOW!
google avatar

Lidija F.

Yelp
Beautiful spot for a late breakfast on a lazy Sunday! I had the scrambled eggs with guacamole. It was quite good! The lemon tart is not very lemony and it's too sweet, but the cheesecake was light and yummy. :D Definitely recommend for location, friendly staff and overall relaxing with drinks.
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
This trendy and chic restaurant is a great place to have a dinner in the warmer months. It is situated on the waterfront, with a lovely view especially at dusk or at night. The food is really delicious, nicely presented, and the dishes are quite creative. The dishes are carefully planned using predominantly seasonal and bio products, while not being overpriced and are thus accessible.
google avatar

Gaurav M.

Yelp
Ambience - nice .. Overlooks Donau, Food - average Service - not good .. The waitress came across as someone demanding the tip .. May be its just person specific .. The place is definitely upscale, apt for a romantic dinner. The lights are dim but it gets a bit noisy to have a comfortable conversation ...
google avatar

Jerry I.

Yelp
The food is a bit pricey, but I liked the All Day Breakfast Sandwich, consisting of ham, bacon, a fried egg, cheese, avocado, lettuce, and tomato on brown bread. It was delicious, especially with the side of habanero mayonnaise that comes with this order. As far as the restaurant itself, it's quite OK. You may have to make a reservation since the tables seem to fill up quickly during certain times. However when I went, they still made the effort to get us a table anyway without a reservation, though our time was limited to two hours, which was more than enough time. All we wanted to do was stuff out face for breakfast and get out anyway! If you're lucky enough to get a table outside, you can enjoy the views of Schwedenplatz and the boats going to Bratislava and beyond.
google avatar

Kaitna S.

Yelp
Fantastic evening. I was happy they were able to seat us so late at 10 pm, even though our hotel called the wrong restaurant so our reservation was missed. They were very accommodating and gave us an excellent seat in the house. Not to mention the food was high quality!
google avatar

Ila S.

Yelp
I was told this was touristy but it was an easy centrally located place to meet so we went anyways. I didn't find it touristy at all, although if did eat at cafe' and not inside. My quinoa salad was fresh and perfect for a light lunch. Service was pleasant and efficient. And located right on the river, it was wonderful to sit outside on a warm spring day. I would go again when in the area. And totally going to try to reproduce the salad!

Yelp
Great atmosphere, friendly staff and ok food. Amazing location right on the Donaukanal.

Yelp
Me and my mother were on vacation in Vienna, and when we crossed the Donau, we saw this amazingly situated restaurant by the water. We had to see if they had a free table that evening, so we went there but we were told you have to reserve a table in advance. So we did that, and got a reservation 2 days after at 20 o'clock. So we finally went to the restaurant the day we had our reservation, and we got a table just by the water with an amazing view of the city. The menu card offered (all organic) salads, sandwiches and various dishes with rice - everything costs around 10 euros, quite cheap! The hot weather made me choose a light vegetarian salad with bulgur, and my mom chose a salad with watermelon and lettuce. We also ordered 2 glasses of rosé wine, even though everyone else ordered the house lemonade, which also looks mindblowingly good - I was just not in the mood for lemonade, sadly. We were both so delighted with our salads! Wow, they were amazing! My bulgur salad was seasoned perfectly with an amazing taste of menthe and tomato, and it was filled with cashew nuts. It was also topped with 2 pieces of grilled lemon, which tasted so good. My mom told me that her salad tasted as if every piece of her salad was individually seasoned and oiled. What a wonderful experience this was! Their cakes also look extraordinary. The only bad thing to say about this place is the loud lounge music, which especially irritated my mom - not me so much, though I have to admit it was quite annoying. But this place still receives 5 stars - and to your information, we reserved a table the next day too!

Yelp
We had the new years menu. It was really good but it was just way too pricey. But let's start with the courses. There were 5 in total. We ate amongst other things fried oyster, caviar and beef filet. So far so good. The service was good. Not great but good. They forgot to bring me my glass of wine twice which is a shame. Considering the 130 Euro per menu we paid its not a definite recommendation. Don't get me wrong the food was good but not 130 Euro good.
google avatar

Mike D.

Yelp
Nice view, climatic interior, good drinks, nothing to write home about food. This would be my shortest description of this place. It is rather big and lively even on Monday evening ! Service was fast and professional. But the food was far from excellent, even though pricey. Carpaccio was tasteless with scrabbled eggs in the middle (what a devil's idea !!!). Fish was far from fresh, rather frozen and dry, even though it was halibut, so one supposed to be tender and fat! Cannelloni also looked more like lasagne to me. So all in all not a place I would come back to.

Jon R.

Yelp
I cannot review the food because we were kicked out before ordering. My guest and I had coffee in to-go cups when we arrived at Motto am Floss. One server brought us menus which we studied in preparation to order. A second server then approached the table and scolded us for bringing in outside beverages, which apparently were absolutely forbidden because they also sell coffee. (Would the reaction had been the same if we had a water bottle with us?) The server's rudeness and the absurdity of the situation made it an easy choice to leave rather than discard our coffee and receive service from someone who had been so rude in greeting us. I will not return when in Vienna.

Yelp
The three-course lunch was reasonably priced (23 euros). The lunch menu was not fixed (a huge bonus), so we had a chance to choose from two starters, three main courses and two desserts. A nice selection of local wines by glasses and the bread served as an appetiser was tasty. Friendly staff. A nice atmosphere and decoration.

Yelp
Yes its a nice and unusal place and I would definitely always recommend for visitors to go there. The food is pretty good and the spot is just really cool. So why am I not a fan? Staff can be a bit arrogant, so can customers be, some people think they are just above other people, don't like that. So, thats why ;)

Yelp
Motto am Fluss is not the cheapest place to go, but its definitely worth the money. The food is excellent and very good quality (all organic) - also they have creative and surprisingly good combinations of herbs and usual other drinks. Service is caring and very nice. It is not very easy to get a spot on the outer deck on top of the ship, where you have sun all day long. I would recommand you to reserve a table if you head there for brunch on saturday or sunday morning.

Yelp
Really great place on the river. Very good view, Berry good food and drinks. Definitely worth a visit in the evening.

Yelp
My husband and I were pleasantly surprised when we discovered this restaurant. First, it looks very touristy - a boat on the river. The food is fusion and very yummy. We visited it 3 times during our stay in Vienna. Everything we tried are tasty.

Yelp
I always order the same when I visit Motto am Fluss: the avocado and papaya quinoa salad. I am a big fan and the fusion is so good. The "Basilikum - Limettenlimonade" (basil and lime soda) is also very refreshing. The restaurant is slightly on the expensive side but the quality of the food makes it worth it. The decor is modern and there is a really nice outdoor area with tables for eating and chairs for just lounging and drinking. The staff speak English and are friendly. The location is good: "am Fluss" means "on the river" and is in the first district.

Yelp
Situated by the riverside, Motto Am Fluss has both a cafe and a restaurant. We dined downstairs at the restaurant where service was pleasant and food was just ok. While they do serve a couple Viennese dishes, the menu is decidedly fusion/eclectic and does not lean toward a particular type of cuisine. Appetizer choices such as foie gras terrine, mackerel tartare, and raw oysters were decent but not outstanding, as were main courses such as venison with chestnuts and brussel sprouts, lamb sous vide, and veal stew. This place seems quite trendy and more suited for drinks than for dinner.

Yelp
We were stranded without a place for Brunch this morning when my friend recommended Motto am Fluss. I was hesitant as being on the Canal and right on Schwedenplatz I assumed it was touristy. I was pretty wrong. A nice breakfast menu, good view, and nice ambiance. I had the "Light House" vegetarian breakfast (there is a picture of it on here, but its not mine.) Nice fresh avocado with egg, curd cheese and vegetables. Nice fresh orange juice and coffee. The pasty was nice, and the service was exceptional - which was not the case for where we were going to go, so I was happy. I'm a fan, and I also heard the have nice drinks in the later hours.
