We came here to have a sweet ☺️ We had an medium pastel de nata, an amazing nut with eggs cake and a very good chicken empada. The staff was ok The room is nice and cozy. It was a bit expensive, for the price, per example the pastel de nata was 1.25€ this is higher than the best pastéis de nata in Portugal “Manteigaria” and it was on a medium They have amazing cakes that you want to try 😅

We had mixed reviews on the food here but I can only speak to my experience. I had the cheese salad and really quite enjoyed it! Pears and cheese on toast on top of an arugula salad. It was a perfect lunch for me! Others in our party got a hamburger they didn’t really care for. But i didn’t taste it. The ambience was nice, location excellent. Nice WiFi connection and really kind and prompt service. Would recommend for lunch or dinner.

We have been here several times last year and was all fine, good salads etc. So we came here today for lunch. First we sat down on the terrace and no information about not having service at the tables. (Was there before…). We had to pay in fromt, but no menus on the table so you can even decide first what you want to order inside…. This new system doesn’t seem very efficient and people leaving the terrace after waiting an long time for nothing. Well, we got out food, a chicken salad and a beef sandwich. The beef was weird, very bland. It used to be on a much better bread too. My salad… the chicken must have been run over by a truck first several times… that flat! Very tastless and rubber hard! And then, I found a piece of plastic! So I returned the salad and requested my money back. They did and apologised but this place we will skip from now on. Bad, very very bad!

Was in the cafe for breakfast, didn’t enjoy too much the service , it’s not very well organized, the way you queue and order is confusing. But the products they offer from the bread, bakery are great quality… A must try is also their typical sweets/bakery

Came for a quick snack since I was in the zone and it was ok! The cakes are tasty, the lemonade not so much. The place itself is very cozy and nice and at night it's probably the best. The staff is a bit, how should I put it, they're not rude but they're a bit airheaded. I had to wait a bit more then I should to be attended because one of the staff was looking at random things and talking with coworkers. I do understand that the heat does not help with performance but it was a bit uncomfortable for me and other customers. Really enjoyed the environment and will come back for another slice of their honey cake!

Opened in 1942it is considered to be one of the best in the country, with over 100 tables, Café Arcada opens its innovations on Valentine's Day. February 14th, therefore. The date is referred to as a social event, a joint initiative of António Justino Mexia da Costa Praça, Basílio da Costa Oliveira, Celestino Costa and António Borges Barreto, four of the biggest businessmen in Eborão. The establishment was inaugurated with an "American-style dinner (for families)", and it was compulsory to wear "promenade attire". The entrance was through three doors, the main one facing Praça do Giraldo. This one had a new revolving door. The other entrances were on the side via Rua Nova and at the top via Alcárcova de Cima. But the delight of this café also extended to literature. In "Aparição", considered to be one of the best Portuguese novels of all time, the writer Vergílio Ferreira gives a good account of the atmosphere at Café Arcada, particularly when he entered it for the first time in 1946, putting it in the protagonist's mouth: "We ended up making an appointment for the following day at Arcada without Moura remembering that it was a Tuesday, i.e. market day.". The writer left an indelible mark on "Arcada", because it was there that his colleague and best man, Alberto Miranda, paid for his wedding. Which consisted, imagine: "a gallon each and cakes", as the writer Vergílio Ferreira would reveal.

Located on the Praca Do Giraldo which is an extremely busy area. They have a coffee and pastry counter in the front where people are lined up. In the back is a sit down restaurant with a buffet and a la carte menu. I opted for the shrimp over a salad, just ok.

Hahaha we didn’t realise until we sat down to eat and saw the receipt but they charged $1.50 for coffee and $3.5 for cappuccino LOL that is absolutely insane The Portuguese Tarts were burnt and the pastries were dry and tasted old I am not over exaggerating that this was the worst place I have eaten at in all of Portugal Shame on these people. I would consider this quality scamming people to be honest. Lmao more than double the price of coffee for adding foam to it ?? Lol go anywhere else

Yelp
Rude smug staff. Never came back for a bill, desert, or anything in fact. Food was mediocre. Staff is horrible.

Yelp
Yikes. If you're looking to enjoy a fresh cocktail in the square... this place fits the bill. However, if you'd like to find some food you can tolerate... keep walking. This is the Golden Corral of Evora.

Yelp
Horrible sit down service and treatment from an elderly gentleman. Normally don't write bad reviews as would rather write a good one, or nothing at all, so that says something... I guess the one positive thing I could say is there vegetarian menu has a chicken salad so it got a little laugh from me.

Yelp
I got a few pastries here in the morning before a tour. The pastries didn't taste very fresh.

Yelp
I loved the pastries here. Evora in general is a very expensive place to eat, and I was so relieved to pay 50 cents for a delicious slice of almond cake dipped in chocolate. I then had a pastel de nata. Then a bright orange egg crepe drenched in rich syrup. It was heaven and the place has the feel of the 1930's. Loved the servers in the bowties.
