By far the biggest selection of pastries we’ve seen in any bakery in our time in Portugal. You could see into a kitchen up behind the tables where a chef was working. Nothing we had was warm though, which, though it seems like a minor thing to mark them down, many other bakeries did serve warm (fresh) pastries. You, you can’t beat the selection and they seemed to always be open when we walked by.

Such a nice coffee shop!! Went there for a coffee in a very hot Sunday afternoon; inside was very chill, I so much appreciated it. The interior decoration was very cool and there were a lot of places to sit. The staff was very nice and talkative (also in English), I really felt the welcoming atmosphere there. The pricing was fair given that the coffee shop is located literally next to the church in the main square. I totally recommend this place for the warm hospitality and fair pricing.

I came at wrong time… If you visit that place around lunch, you definitely shouldn’t sit at the biggest table (they prepare them for the lunch). unfortunately, it was no small table available when I came. I just wanted to relax and take it easy before I go to the bus, but I felt like - i should leave, even when I asked (should I move to other table? the answer was no) I had cake and coffee, they were ok, but there is far better place in this lovely town. People are impressed by the old interior, but for me was mix of modern added to the older place. Thanks for the experience.

TOURIST TRAP!! I can't believe this cafe is so highly recommended. The service and pastries are terrible. You are greeted with a scowl first thing in the morning. What a great way to start off your day. We ordered the chicken and vegetable empanadas. The dough/crust is very very thick!! And very little filling inside. The chicken empanada was lacking flavor. The plain croissant was huge! But not all great things cone in big packages. But what's big in size lacks in flavor. It didnt taste that buttery but also very doughy and breadlike. You have been warned...avoid!! There are better cafes.

Chicken and veggie empanadas were dry, tough, tasteless, and cold. They were not fresh. The croissant was served on the cold side. It was also dry and non flaky, although it was big in size. The coffees weren't hitting the spot. No Splenda or other sugar substitute. Further, the coffees came in petite size cups and brought me back to my sister's younger days when she would play tea doll house. I know this is Europe, but the coffees were just not enough. Per quart, the coffee here is insanely priced. Service was swift but felt really cold as far as customer service is concerned. Prepare for that poker face to greet you. Overall, I do not understand the high ratings. I definitely would not recommend..

Amazing coffee and pastries. We returned next day for dish of the day lunch and some black pork ham and cheese board. It helps if you speak a bit of Portuguese. You go in, choose what you want, you order and pay at the back and then you show your ticket at the counter (with the funny sign, see photo). Not so difficult. The bean pasteis is amazing as is the pasteis de nata. Atmosphere inside is just dull reminded me of my school canteen. We sat outside which is nicer.

Customers required to order at till remote from serving counter. I Paid 20€ for 2 coffees and a pastel de nata. Change was delivered by a machine remote from the till. Incorrect change was given. When I complained the owner was very aggressive and refused to resolve the problem saying it was “my fault”. Appalling customer service bordering on theft. I have eaten in cafes/restaurants all over the world and have never been treated so badly before. I strongly recommend you avoid this cafe.

We came here to have a sweet ☺️ We had an medium pastel de nata, an amazing nut with eggs cake and a very good chicken empada. The staff was ok The room is nice and cozy. It was a bit expensive, for the price, per example the pastel de nata was 1.25€ this is higher than the best pastéis de nata in Portugal “Manteigaria” and it was on a medium They have amazing cakes that you want to try 😅

Yelp
Located on the Praca Do Giraldo which is an extremely busy area. They have a coffee and pastry counter in the front where people are lined up. In the back is a sit down restaurant with a buffet and a la carte menu. I opted for the shrimp over a salad, just ok.

Yelp
Rude smug staff. Never came back for a bill, desert, or anything in fact. Food was mediocre. Staff is horrible.

Yelp
Yikes. If you're looking to enjoy a fresh cocktail in the square... this place fits the bill. However, if you'd like to find some food you can tolerate... keep walking. This is the Golden Corral of Evora.

Yelp
Horrible sit down service and treatment from an elderly gentleman. Normally don't write bad reviews as would rather write a good one, or nothing at all, so that says something... I guess the one positive thing I could say is there vegetarian menu has a chicken salad so it got a little laugh from me.

Yelp
I got a few pastries here in the morning before a tour. The pastries didn't taste very fresh.

Yelp
I loved the pastries here. Evora in general is a very expensive place to eat, and I was so relieved to pay 50 cents for a delicious slice of almond cake dipped in chocolate. I then had a pastel de nata. Then a bright orange egg crepe drenched in rich syrup. It was heaven and the place has the feel of the 1930's. Loved the servers in the bowties.
