Café Bartine

Bartine is always a great choice. The best cappuccino, excellent service, a great selection of food, and a casual atmosphere that’s perfect for what you’re looking for in a brunch. The bread is truly unique. I just wish they had more dishes, as that would mean more chances to try their delicious food. One thing to improve: I’d love the cappuccino to be served hotter, since with cold milk it’s just not the same.

The only place in the Hague I've been to that truly deserves all of the stars. The food is inspired, fresh (delicious sourdough), simple, and to me personally, perfect. The dishes are very modern meets traditional. Very beans, very seasonal, very whipped lemon ricotta, very confit. It would not surprise me at all if they do a lot of broth in the winter. Everyone is having a dill moment and I couldn't be happier. Lovely music and always a little lively. If I lived here it would become a financial burden.

The three of us chose this place for breakfast — we’d been wanting to come for a while! Luckily, we managed to find a table inside, towards the back. However, the interior is small and the tables are quite cramped, so I wouldn’t say it’s the most comfortable setting. It might be better if you can find a spot outside on a nice day. One of us ordered the avocado on sourdough, another had the Turkish eggs, and I went for the mushrooms on brioche. Everyone was really happy with their food — everything was truly delicious. The combination of the mushrooms with the butterbean purée and eggs… absolutely unforgettable. I’ll definitely be coming back 😍

Got the cinnamon roll and cardamom roll, both were very delicious, and the mint tea was very warm and fresh. Very busy, as it was a Sunday, and was difficult to get a table. Wish there was a way to get the rolls heated up a little bit, but flavor wise everything was delicious!

Very slow service. The french toast was amazing but the avocado toast not so much. Overall, it’s a very cosy café.

Delicious food and great atmosphere, however, I'm slightly disappointed as the size of both drinks and foods seems to get smaller 😏 Aperol spritz in a white wine glass while the price is of a "decent" size; Turkish eggs in a small deep board - not what we were used to when this place became popular.

Love doing breakfast at bartine. Love the vibe and food. Always a big fan of their french toast. Little pricey though

We loved this brunch! We had the classic Bartine breakfast with sourdough, latte, tea, OJ, cardamom bun, French toast, and a Reuben!! Everything was so yummy and the café had a nice buzz to it. We sat at the window seat and enjoyed watching the cool moms come and go with their little ones on the back of their bikes. It was the perfect spot to tee up an afternoon of viewing art at the Mauritshuis! Thank you!!

Love little café with Danish specialties, including cardamom and cinnamon buns. Delicious coffee too. There's a nice outdoor area on the street and cosy seating indoors. They do get very busy around lunch/a bit before, so be prepared to wait for a seat. Very nice staff working there. I'll be back!

We took the train from Amsterdam to Den Haag on a cold and slightly rainy day. We needed a breakfast/lunch place to fuel up and get warm. Bartine was just the right place. It's cozy inside, all tables are taken so we sat at the bar by the window, which turned out great for people watching. We ordered the french toast, ruben sandwich, and cinnamon bun, plus coffee drinks and fresh juice. Everything was delicious. The cinnamon bun as a bit hard, maybe that's normal (compared to soft and doughy in the states), i liked that it wasn't too sweet. Service was fast and friendly.

Absolutely phenomenal food and coffee. Turkish eggs are incredible -- great bread and labneh and pumpkin. But they were severely understaffed and crowded and food and drinks took forever despite hard working staff. Cramped conditions.

The great ratings online are well deserved. The croissants were crunchy outside and fluffy inside very buttery, exactly how you would expect a good made croissant to be. I personally enjoyed the plain one over the chocolate ones and also enjoyed the almond black sesame ones but that was a bit too sweet for my taste, and in the future I would just go with the normal plain one. Be aware it's heavy

So good, every..single..time! This place is so cozy. We ordered the Creamy Eggs with Blistered tomatoes and avo + a side of home made Brioche. Incredible! We sat outside because inside was packed. They have a heated terras so we were super comfortable. The service was excellent despite how busy it was.

The Turkish eggs and creamy eggs with radicchio were both really really good!! We went in the morning when it opened on Saturday and it wasn't too busy

We really enjoyed our brunch at Bartine. The staff were friendly and helpful. The cinnamon bun and cardamom croissant were both delicious. I really enjoyed the overnight oats I ordered. My family were all very happy with their dishes too -- the avocado toast, chicken salad, and lamb sandwich all received rave reviews.

Really good coffee, nice cake, chill place to work. The owner is really friendly and the vibe is lovely, loads of plants. They have almond, soy, and oat milk for those who want/ need that and plenty of nice food options. I'd definitely recommend going here!
